Okay, oddball ranting aside, sorry for not updating at all recently. Life has been suckish lately. College eats time, and so do holidays apparently. I have had no free time for anything in the past month. A pile of random sketches is sitting beside the scanner, with a good number of TUGS pics mixed in, yet I haven't had the time to sit down and actually scan them. Homework and studying for final exams seem to really get in the way of everything.

On a more positive (and somewhat stranger note) I'm thinking about attempting to make a few TUGS themed avatars on Second Life. I figure it would be pretty fun to slide around on a public lot as one of the Zero Fleet. It would be amusing to say the least... I just need a floating AO of some sort...

And now back to the negative and highly depressing... My dear leopard gecko, Mezerael, passed away over the weekend. We think it was an internal parasite, but none of us are sure. She was happy and healthy when I got back home, her usual responsive self. Two hours later, I go to get her in order to feed her and find that she had died. She looked like she was simply taking a stroll around the tank and just died. The only sign of any sort of trauma was a small amount of blood leaking from her mouth. Could someone please tell me what could have caused this because I'm truly clueless.

Luck was really not with me that day... On top of that, to add insult to almost injury, I look up to see that a small tugboat had pulled up to the docks beside the park. Inside the wheelhouse, I could see the captain laughing his ass off at me. Of course, chances are that he was laughing more at my facial expression then at what had happened. I really wish that I could have gotten a photograph of the tug itself. Her name is the Drew Scott, but the thing that struck me the most was that her livery was almost exactly like Sunshine's before he joined the Star Fleet. If I weren't so embarrassed, I probably would have fangirl squee'd right on the spot. ^^

After that, we go to the owner of the place who was busy yelling at his kid. Once we got his attention, we asked if they carried stencils. His reaction was to lead us around the store while mumbling that he didn't think they had any. Then he went up to a random employee and asked if he knew if they had any stencils. The employee was really overenthusiastic and responded by ensuring Michael and I that they did actually have some. He then proceeded to lead us to the back of the store where some of the merchandise had been packed and stored. Two baskets and a near spill later, he hands me a package of pipe cleaners and says, "Here are the only stencils we have right now."

I didn't want to insult him, so all I did was thank him in a rather unsure tone. I never did get the stencils, but now I have a pack of pipe cleaners that only cost me a quarter. o_0

Later in, in the wreck room, which we fondly call the Z-Dock, our little cosplay group was playing billiards. At first, the conversation was aimed at our plans to get permission to repaint the place to look like Bigg City Harbor. Then, somehow, the convo turned to the subject of dirty limericks. I spat off a few of the more generic ones that I knew. After a couple particularly disturbing limericks, we started trying to think of some cleaner ones. One in particular turned out really well. The sad thing is that it ended up being about Izzy Gomez. Here it is:

There once was a tramper named Izzy
who worked himself into a tizzy.
He needed a tow
but wouldn't you know
all of the tugboats were busy.

One of my friends wrote one about the Star switchers, but I am not going to post it. I really don't want to offend anyone with it due to the fact that it really bashes Ten Cents and Sunshine.

So the other day, I was walking down the railroad tracks with a couple of friends and we came across three railroad spikes laying in the gravel some distance away from the tracks. Yay for randomness! I'm going to paint mine so that I can use it as a backdrop for the Z-Stacks models I'm making.

Speaking of my excessively random friends, we decided that we were going to cosplay the Z-Stacks for Halloween this year. We just need two more people so that we have the entire fleet at one time. If anyone who lives near WV Tech is interested, please contact me here. We still need Zorran and Zak.

Somehow, I ended up as Zip, my boyfriend as Zug, and our other friend chose Zebedee. Other then a few height issues, these parts seem to really fit us, though we tend to get a lot of odd looks when we start yelling at each other during lunch with each character's respective accent.

Anyway, I digress. I have been here at the West Virginia Institute of Technology for a little over two days now, and I am loving it. Classes are fun yet educational, and I can actually keep interested in the subject at hand. Whoot! On the side, I have already had enough free time to explore the town a little. I made a rather funny discovery yesterday that resulted in another fangirl squeal. There is also one thing that needs cleared up. My sister was not the one who was driving the ATV. Her boyfriend, whose name I shall keep anonymous for the time being, had lied to the police when they had asked what had happened. I, however, hold nothing against him, because I believe that his cousing, who was first on the scene, planted the idea into the boy's head. Due to the amount of shock he was in, the boyfriend's mind was tricked into believing that what the cousin had said was actually ture. The evidence, both on the scene and my sister's body, has proven that, contrary to what was reported, my sister was the passenger and not the driver.

On to more pleasant news. I just got back from a trip to Florida yesterday. Busch Gardens was a blast. That is one park I would definantly want to return to, even though I got bit by a lot of random animals. We also visited Sea World and Carrowinds. Both of those parks sucked though. All that was in Sea World was Shamu and a few other attractions. Boring in my opinion. Carrowinds was worse though. 13 coasters, and none of them worth riding. You know a park is bad when the best ride in the park turns out to be a Fairly Odd Parents themed kiddy coaster. Oh well. I had fun at the other parks, and thats all that matters.

After my Prom, we returned to my house and changed into the outfits for his prom. We had decided long ago to spoof the 'Nite in Shining Armor' theme that they had, so we went as Luke Skywalker and Princess Leiah. Jedi are knights too. ^^ We were stopped every five mintues by people wanting our pictures. It really got bad/funny when we decided to start a kick line. That got the yearbook staff's attention. Even the local newspaper got photographs of us. His school even had an after party. The games were hilarious. I had a blast while playing dodgeball in the bounce house while in my costume. Not to mention the fact that I won some great prizes, like my i-dog.

I have started on a few major projects that I am planning to post when I finish with them. The first is a pot with Nefarious shooting out a jet of ice on one side. The image is actually raised about a fourth of an inch above the surface of the pot. I'll be giving that to my dad as a gift. Then, when I finish that one, I will work on a statue of Nefarious which I will keep for myself. My parents got me an Arizona quartz crystal cluster which I will affix to the base of the statue after its been fired and glazed. My final project is a series of dragon anatomy sketches. I'm almost finished with the skeleton, and then I will be moving on to the muscular system.

Last but not least, I got a new leopard gecko. Eventually, I will get the pics of him off of my camera and post them. Right now, the gecko is unnamed, but I have been trying to convince my mom to name him either Alder or Artex. I like both names, but whenever I ask my mom just says, "I'm thinking about it," and then she walks off. Eventually that poor gecko will get a name...

Cell phase- eat to grow your cell larger so that you can snuff out the competition and be the first out of the tide pool.

Creature phase- Fight to become the first sentient species. You can choose to work to ally yourself with other species, or kill everything that you run across. What you do determines what type of tribe your species will create.

Tribal Phase- Build the strongest tribe to either wipe out all other rival tribes or make allies with them. I personally prefer to ally myself with a few tribes and use them to wipe out all other competition.

Civilization phase- This is similiar to the tribal phase, only now you get advanced weapons and vehicles. Also, instead of taking over a continent, you are working to take over the world and unify your species.

Space Phase- This is by far my favorite phase. You get to explore the galaxy and basically do as you please. You control a single spacecraft that is capable of taking over other worlds. You can also buy out other star systems and wage war on other sentient species. There is also rare artifacts hidden on some planets, as well as planets that are inhabited by creatures from previous phases. (Its fun to mess with tribes with the use of crop circles).

Spore is definantly a game worth getting. Right now, I have two files. My first is a carnivorous species called the Maverious. I created them to look just like N. Antiomorph. (They are purple though, and do have several notable differences) The second is a two-headed bird that has not grown past the tribal phase. (It took me forever to figure out how to make two-headed creatures.)

I admit that I wasn't very creative when coming up with my username. I just wanted something N. Tropycentric.

I came to the site as a Crash Bandicoot fangirl, but ended up going back to the SD Gundam Force obsession that I had a few years ago.

I am a fangirl of the most random things. I don't know why, but I like to take random characters and elements from various series and mash them together in the roleplays that I join. I was looking back at all of the characters that I sketch or roleplay, and even to me its random. Do other people do that, or is it just me?

Yesterday, I had a lot of fun. My dad took me on a four hour motorcycle ride. That was the second time I have ever ridden one. I hate to say it, but I think I may have fell asleep somewhere between my hometown of Fairmont, and the town of Phillipi, West Virginia. One thing I will never forget from that trip is the stop to the gas station in Phillipi... We went in to buy a couple of pops and take a break from riding. As we were checking out, there was this little kid and his grandpa ahead of us. I looked down at him and smiled, and he almost started crying. He was scared to death of me. I guess it was because dad and I were both fully dressed in Harley Davidson gear, and both of us were wearing Dragon dewrags. Either way, I hate to admit it, but it was funny. Other then that and the massive amount of deer, the ride was uneventful yet fun. Oh yeah, and on the way back, I saw a badger for the first time in my life.

Heres a random tidbit for the SDGF fans. If I can get my computer running properly, then I am going to upload season 2 onto youtube. I'll post about it here. The problem is that my computer doesn't want to run DVDs. As soon as I get that fixed, I'll have season 2 uploaded. Until then, hang in there.

Now then, I have a small update for my character, Nefarious the ice dragon. I would have revealed this along with a sketch, but I haven't been working on anything other then a comic lately, so... I have decided to give Nefarious a slightly different name. (Actually, I just gave her a last name) From now on, I will refer to her as either Nefarious or N. Antiomorph. I may change her first name in the future, but as for now, no.

Oh yeah, and I should probably say whats been eating my time lately. I finally got the stuff I ordered off of Ebay, so I finally found out what the 'mystery gift' my parents got me was. First of all was a SD Gundam Force season 2 DVD. I was expecting that, and I have spent several hours already watching episodes. (And yes, I am probably going to do several more Gundam Force themed sketches.) The mystery gift turned out to be a Grappler Gouf action figure and later a copy of the game Spectrobes. I am definantly happy about the figure because now I have an even better reference for some of Grappler's finer details.

When I am done obsessing over my stuff, I will return to my regular sketches, but for now, I will be a lot more sporadic.

Later, when I woke up, I barely remember telling the nurse that I felt like I could make a good sketch or two. Then I blacked out again. Apparently, on the way home, I came semi-awake again and told my mom that I thought I was a spotted zebra gecko... Then I passed out again.

I regained consciousness at my house. Immediately I vomited up a bunch of blood and passed out again. Two hours later, I wake up and find that my face swelled up and I slightly resembled a human version of N. Gin.

The swelling went down several hours after that, and I have been in and out of consciousness for the past four days. I did get a few sketches done though, and my parents dragged me off to some weird lady's house for some party noone told me about. All I did there was sketch and get questioned by the weird lady, her husband, her kids, and a bunch of random mechanics. It was annoying as hell, and I am glad its over with.

I just got back from vacation down at Topsail Island, NC. Most of the trip was just the usual beach stuff. Drop in on the local jeweler with whom our family is well acquainted; visit a friend at an art gallery; eat crabs; search for shark's teeth; and a visit to the sea turtle hospital. I still say that one of the best places to visit is the jewelry shop known as Mystic Treasures. They are like kids in a candy store...

Anywho, I have a serious question or so. First off, I was wondering if I should continue my 'Fun with Katamari?' series or just drop it where it is. I am completely out of ideas to continue it with and am in desperate need of more. (Just note any ideas or post them in a comment here) Also, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in the full story of Nefarious the Ice Dragon's origins. A few of my friends on other sites have suggested that I make it into a comic, but I want some other opinions first...

After we left DC, we went to this outlet mall in Hancock. Talk about boring. Then only thing there was a KB Toys and some random book store. The KB Toys cracked me up. It was about the most outdated store I have ever seen. They even had a SDGF toy, and its been several years since I have seen one for sale. I ended up buying it and I am happy that I did. ^^

To make matters worse, I was hoping to get some sleep on the busride to a museum, but the trip got posponed yet again. So much for sleeping on the way to the museum and sketching on the return trip.

On the bright side, my newest sketch is slowly nearing its completion. I got a little carried away with the shading and its taken me about three days longer to finish then I thought it would. Hopefully I can have it finished before the weekend ends...

Well, I have decided not to do a comic strip just yet. Instead, I am going to continue with my random character sketches until I am comfortable enough to make something a bit longer. I've also been flooded with Neopet art requests lately and I can't concentrate enough to work on anything super detailed. Oh well... at least art requests help my sketching abilities. ^^
