My grandmother suffered an infection-based heart attack earlier this week and was committed to intensive care, so most of my time has been spent with my family and at the hospital. Right now she's doing okay, but her foot has suffered a bit of a snag and might need some serious work done to stave off amputation. It's gonna hold back my progress on both Beyond the Mist and Silverfell: Circus of Sin, but there's very little I can do to help the situation.

In more positive news, I've been working on a personal nerd project while sitting around in waiting rooms and in cars. If you didn't know, I'm one of the nerdiest individuals you might ever meet. Dungeons and Dragons? I'm a DM with over six campaigns under my +3 Belt of Levitation. World of Darkness? I have all the expansion books and three characters. Anime? I hate most of it, but I would marry most any character in Ghost of the Shell. This pet project has to do with the card game, Magic: The Gathering, of which I am an avid fan. I've played a lot of video games, but nothing matches the strategy of Magic, at least not that I've found. Anyway, I'm designing planeswalkers, which are the big bad boys of the game, to go with the decks I've built. It's nerdy, yes, but I'm hoping to commission art and cards done when I get the chance and the spare cash.

Looks like I'm finally home in my home state of New York after quite an eventful vacation in Hawaii. Now, I don't want to bore you all with a long paragraph of what I did, so it's BULLET FORM TIME.

-Got harassed by four drunk Guatemalans
-Almost got thrown into a koi pool (see above)
-Got mistaken for an Iranian (see above)
-Flew on a helicopter dubbed the roflcopter
-Somehow got three woodcarving knives through JFK airport security without knowing I had them
-Bought three different hats JUST to keep my hair down
-Learned that I hate the wind
-Saw a real life hippie town
-Got a picture of a real life hippie
-Saw a sunrise at the top of a volcano
-Rode an ATV and walked where they filmed Jurassic Park, Hook, and Tropic Thunder
-Used the rope swing that Harrison Ford used in Indiana Jones in the first scene
-Fell in the water wearing all my clothes (see above)
-Froze my ass off (see above)
-Had a whole row to myself on the plane ride home

So, class is finally over, but this is when the fun stuff starts: Finals. I know I'm pulling an A is Comp & Lit 1, Political Issues and Ancient Philosophy, but I'm having trouble with Sociology. The teacher didn't go over anything himself throughout the entire semester. What ended up happening was that the last test failed all but three people, me included, which caused half the class to fall below the failing line grade-wise. Even if they ace the finals they have no shot of passing the class. I don't know about any of you, but I consider that a failure of teaching. The worst part is that he just yells at them for not getting the material when he has the teaching ability of a dry sponge. Actually, I could learn more from a sponge; at least it would be slightly more engaging and entertaining.

On the bright side I'm going to have a long Christmas break. I'm spending the first two weeks in Hawaii where I'll be taking non-stop pictures to upload. I'll need to keep myself occupied because, while I love traveling, I hate being bored in places other than my general area. I should end up having some neat shots of the Maui volcano, the underwater reefs and the city and forest areas of the two islands I'm visiting. I won't be one of those guys who uploads them all at once (especially since I've been slacking over the past few... months) but I'll put one or two up a day or something like that. I don't know if I'll have good internet access so I might upload late. I'll still comment all I can though.

In other news I'm really glad that the whole election thing is over with. I voted, yes, and I will openly admit that it was for Obama. My reasons are many, and I would be more than happy to discuss them at length with anyone willing to have an intelligent conversation. My biggest problem is relating to just that; few people have acted intelligently this election.

My passion is philosophy, and in philosophy there is something called Logic. Logic is the study of the rules of argument, which have been completely disregarded by many (not all) people recently. These rules state that one can not commit fallacies of logic if there is to be a sound argument. Such fallacies include Ad Hominem (the attack of a person/person's personal life), Begging the Question (using the argument as an example. EX: The bible is true because god/the bible says it's true), and Willed Ignorance (obvious).

That's my rant. Peace out.

This summer got pretty intense, so it ended up with me taking a hiatus from writing and photography. Music pretty much became my prime focus along with college and sleeping. Lately I've been itching to get back into it, so back I've come. I don't know how long it will take for me to get into the groove, especially with so much college work to do, but I suspect that I'll be up to ten new deviations in about a month.

On another subject I've really broken into the music world. I got in contact with a music producer and ended up auditioning to work with him. It turns out he's been looking for a singer to create a solo record with and I was able to impress him enough that I got the contract. Over the next three years I'll be putting out a prospective three CD's. I promise the music will be good, or I won't agree to release it untill it's perfect. By 2010 I'll probably be touring if the schedule pans out, which it probably will considering we're ahead of it at the moment.

Another piece of news is that I will henceforth be suspending both Appleseed and Patchwork Alley due to my revived piece, the Crimson Crow. This book/books/story has been in my head since sophmore year, and was inspired by my great friends and greater enemies throughout it. Every character is someone I knew, and every inch of the world has been inked out and designed in my head for some time now. I will be posting the prologue soon, and will be looking for editors so that it can be the best it can be.

As of late I have been having a good summer. I've been hanging out with friends, playing loads of mind-rotting video games, and have joined two new bands, one of which is going to record this thurday in CT. Even with all of this, however, I have been getting bored every now and again. In light of this I have decided that I might want to start *gasp* reading. Now I know that I'm 'kinda' a writer, but a thought occured to me when I read something in the local newspaper while I was in Mass; Every good writer seems to read a lot. Now to anyone who doesn't knows me, I don't read much. I think that I've read only ONE book of my own free will in the last six years. To those of you who are writers (and thus likely readers) this may kick you in the face, and I apologize, I've just never had a thing for it.

Now, I want to become as good a writer as I can, and since my writing level seems to be at least decent, I hope that by reading more and more I can get better and better. I hope this is a good idea.

NOW, on the other hand, I've been progressing somewhat with photography. My camera, which is the Canon Rebel XsI, is amazing. I've begun working with shutter speeds more and more, and although I'm confined to the local area, I've picked out a few nice spots to take shots. Even better is that there are some people willing to model for me, which will help with the many ideas swirling around in my head.

After a day of brainless work and exhaustion I can't, no matter how hard I try, write anything even slightly passable. Seeing this I think I will have to update over the weekend, when my internship is over, and I can devote what little brain power I have to literature. I'm sorry to anyone who was waiting on an update, but I really don't want to disappoint with half-assed entries.

But tomorrow... or today now I guess, will be the last day of work for the summer. This means that I will be bored for over 15 hours each day, with little to do. When that happens I get hyper, and when I get hyper my imagination goes nuts, just as my friends. I will write then, and a lot.

OH, AND BEFORE I FORGET.

I am looking for a willing artist, or someone who knows one, who would be willing to illustrate scenes in some of my stories. I would feature them in the entries, and would shamelessly love you forever, and of course give you full credit and whatever else necessary.

I've been on the hunt for readers and people willing to critique/draw my characters, and it popped into my head that I should go multimedia, and try to do more than just write prose. I'm getting a camera for my birthday, so I can do more photography then (the last few shots were with my Grandfathers camera.)
