I actually had the honor of having ~Toshi-Riku coming to retrieve me b/c the guests wanted copies of the prints I had made XD;;;
I was also able to get one personally signed by them. I'll take pics of it later

I was sad that Brandon McKinney wasn't able to sign autographs at SacAnime and instead was sent to SacCon (why anyone would host two cons on the same weekend is beyond me...bleh), but one of the Staff for SacCon is going to get me his autograph on a static shock print. I gave him most of the Ben10 and Static ones to take to SacCon to pass out to attendees. =3

We did have a bootleg/art theft issue with one of the vendors, won't go into open details about that here. The DA artist has been notified and the Con head and security were notified at the time it was spotted.

My grandma came to the con on Sunday b/c she was curious about it. She LOVED the costumes and the AMVs (especially that Princess Tutu one that was played). She bought a Bento Box for her living room decor (it's got a nice Asian Layout) and loved looking at all the vendor stuff and the artwork.

Sadly I was forced to miss "~miss-hina's birthday bash in order to meet the deadline since I had a headache Thurs and slept rather than work on it. I got sick Sat, and am still recovering, but all is good

I prolly won't post anything new for a while, I've been busy Working, Job hunting, and tying to get a set shift schedule so I can continue my training for CHP. It's gonna take at least 2-3 months of solid training before I'm ready to re-apply. xP
I'll make it somehow though! I don't want to give up on this yet! *first step is to get well though x.x;*

While the AA layout and combination with the vendors wasn't as great as expected it was still very fun to see and be with everyone again.

A great last year at AX (I'll be joining the CHP (California Highway Patrol) hopefully by the end of this year in order to have a stable job that will keep me active and fit)

Day 0:

Left at 3am (we were supposed to leave at 2am but someone was late *coughpandacough*) with

We got to LA around 10-11am. I got the hotel for the AA group checked in then ran into a grown up looking

Afterward we had the hell of trying to check in the Cosplay hotel since

Everything should have been under my name but instead the hotels were listed under 3 different people's names from the hotel rooms. It took 3 hours and two different clerks to figure it out x.x; We were late picking up ~Seilen and his friend because of it, and I had left

I was selling my stuff and *miss-hina's stuff. Roomed with her and ~Amelia-Seyruun and a few other friends who were a bit new to conventions.

Day 1:
I was waiting in line with ~Aidou and her fellow cats, then =cutemew showed up and snuck in behind me (she was followed by *ramy)
The day was a bit slow but I still made money. =cutemew was the first to locate my table xD; Everyone else had trouble finding it

Having a cooler under my table was a big plus, and I had some awesome neighbors ^^

Day 2:
I got visited by =nuriko-kun who helped me reorganize my stuff (sorry

but your lap was useful) and two lil ones who remembered me from AOD; ~maroyaute and her friend, who then dragged me and a guy called "the stickerman" to the Pika Pika booths... never doing that again tho b/c it was scary x.x;
One of my Shiny Myuu Coasters got swiped when I was getting someone their prints an I didn't notice until later.

Day 3:
Found =pandari and then =kurot (I love your hair color xD).
Had some fun at the hotel, saw *miss-hina's anima mode (hella funny xD), then went out late with *miss-hina to the game room (we got back to the hotel around 3am I think).

Day 4:
Sold stuff, finally escaped my table and got to go visit other peoples. Found a Nyu button (didn't get their DA since they were already packing up), Thunders (Jolteon) and Magumarashi (Quilava) buttons (from *Ununununium and bought them up fast xD, and another Thunders (Jolteon) button from another artist who's DA I'm currently unsure of. Also bought a cute button from =azuzephre. Got a sticker from "the stickerman" too. ^^

She also had a fan) and ~ryuchama, walked back to Japantown with them (walking to and from and then all over the mall killed my legs this morning (but it was worth it
We got on one of the restaurants' waiting lists then went to see if the parading cosplayers were back yet; but they weren't.

After we got in we looked over the menu and eventually they found us and had another fellow cosplayer with them.

We ate, talked, got a group pic, paid the bill and went our separate ways; but we'll meet again at Fanime =3

Lunch was followed by the Ukyo photo shoot and a test to see if I could really learn by looking at other peoples pics and studying them. I did learn a bit. ;D
Once I transfer them I'll post a single preview like I did with Mashiro; the rest will go to *miss-hina so she an post then on hers after she plays with them in PS.

Photoshoot was followed by ice cream, then browsing through Kinokuya (I found raw Bakuman and Tegami Bachi manga!~ Bought the first volume of each

) After that we got dinner, walked around, found a Ranka cosplayer by chance, and *miss-hina got pics with her.

Hopped a plane to WA w/ *miss-hina and ~Amelia-Seyruun, *miss-hina's friend dropped her and I off; ~Amelia-Seyruun's friend dropped her off. Arrived at about 9pm to our hotel with it's awesomely spacious room We found a vegan cafe and got food there (it was about 11pm when we got hungry and nothing else was open xD)

*miss-hina was up all night finishing cosplay; a normal DAY 0 exercise.

DAY 1:

Got up @ 5am in order to get in line by 6am. The line was already sorta long when we got there, then I realized I forgot something and had to leave the line and go back to the hotel. When I got back the line was 10 ft longer (but that was okay b/c I had to wait for ~toypanda since I was her registered adult xD (Sakura-con is weird...)). :devtoypanda showed up, we got our badges; *miss-hina had to go back to do some finishing touches on her cosplay and ~Amelia-Seyruun went with her after getting her badge from the regular registration line (that line was slow). Afterward we ran to Borders, they opened at 8am, since the Dealers Room didn't open till noon but the Yamaguchi Kappei session was at 11am and Barnes & Noble didn't open until 9 or 10am. We also got breakfast for ourselves and *miss-hina and ~Amelia-Seyruun.

After dropping off breakfast' ~toypanda and I went to the autograph area to wait in the Yamaguchi Kappei line (there were only 3 people ahead of us |D). We waited in line for 3 hours but it was really worth it in the end >w< *miss-hina and ~Amelia-Seyruun arrived too late for the autographs, but I had one of their books so I snagged a cosplayer who wasn't in line (but wanted to just see Kappei) and asked if they could get a book signed for us; which they did xD; turns out she's ~kalisaen. THANK YOU SOO MUCH!

*miss-hina cosplayed a really cute Ukyo from Ranma 1/2

After the signing ~toypanda and I got smoothies and tea, then went to watch the first Ranma 1/2 movie [subbed] (which glitched and started 20 minutes late, and had a timer on it so we missed the last 20 minutes of the movie >< ). ~toypanda hadn't seen the Ranma 1/2 series but seemed to enjoy the movie (I've seen up to Season 3 but hadn't seen the movies x3).

We missed the cosplay gatherings on Day 1 because my lil sis forgot to charge the battery on my camera after using it for her own cosplay pics.

Saw ~korilin, =yanimator, =cutemew and =Neolucky there in the AA. *ramy was in the Dealer's Room.

Got my cute commission of Mika in a large print from ~toypanda and a small pencil commission of myself from her as well

DAY 2:

~toypanda went to office depot prior to going to the con, so I ran down there to meet her from the con since I was bored (the panels that weren't supposed to be Q & A turned into Q & A panels...it was boring.) I skipped one and we went to another one but left early. I had my camera so we took lots of pics of different cosplayers. The amount of entries for all the contests was unbelievable, the most this con has ever had. Congrats to those who won!

I didnÂt sell as much as I hoped, but I did manage to do two small commissions without getting nervous! The were just small sketch commissions, but for me it was a big step forward.

Well, we were worried it'd be like PMX, but.....

IT'S BEEN A BLAST!

Didn't have a table but =cutemew, ~rivetspoon, ~CatNapCaps, =hakuku, *Akusesu, and ~muhoho-seijin were all here; so was David Wong but he's at all cons XD.

*miss-hina and ~CatNapCaps were both in the fashion show. Both did well ^ ^

*miss-hina was interviewed (her model was Stephanie Yanez) and will be published in LA Weekly.

THE ARTICLE!

I'll post pics soon.

Trauma's were minimal but there were still a few incidents. A couple was caught having sex during Friday Night's Rave, and someone broke an ankle while trying to do something stupid in the Game Room. Overall though it was a wonderful con and I hope we can come back and have tables next time.

Soooooo.....

Um to sum up a really long response I gave to ~CatNapCaps here's the copy/paste:

"Cowboy Bebop Jazz performance -- flop. Died before we even got there (it should have been halfway done when we went in). No atmosphere, pitiful band (who apparently didn't know shitz about jazz)

AA - sucked. Table organization was bombed due to some other cons and two weddings.

Late night events -- People were freaking drunk and roaming around before it was even 9pm.
Two girls were making out in the lobby after one of them had been wandering off multiple times before. Also according to some other artists, people were throwing up in hallways after binging.

Also there were other complaints about panels and the video rooms as well.

Oh and to top it all off, the person in charge was actually someone who was kicked out of AX staff because of his selfishness. He actually had the nerve to tell us that the con was supposed to be aimed at 18-25 year old's (which is not mentioned at all on the site (if it was I probably would not have gone since my stuff is aimed at younger kids)), and he also said that PMX was supposed to become a con that people would go to after they grow out of AX (like that could ever happen since AX caters to all ages.)

Basically PMX is going to become Perverted Media Expo instead of Pacific Media Expo."

First off....busy as the Winter con! OMG x.x;
I think it was b/c they changed the dates from July to August...

~cutemew made it to the Friday show and =MissRedRose was nice enough to give her some space to sell ^ ^

~heiki-musume had some issues come up but made it on Saturday & Sunday. <3
She stayed with me and ~ginriru-tatsu @ my Mimi's.

Oh and I found out randomly on Friday that my Pikachu picture got made into the Saturday badge! (busiest day of the con is Sat.... x3)

Gave the Flyers to *xxxplizit in the game room. Heard from him later that many were picked up XD
Hopefully we get a good turnout for Winter Con. =3

It was fun overall <3 I hated having to go back to work from 9p-1a but we knocked out that ad like there was no tomorrow. I owe Frankie now XD; I'm gonna buy him a weekend badge for Winter SacAnime. I think he'd like that.

Grandma Ruby passed away...

I won't be on much prolly this week... I'll be spending the night in Sac with my mom and sis (though we have to come back since me and sis both have work at noon tomorrow)

Not sure what's going on at this point since I just got home from work and found out.

To AX-ers who knew about the Menos Grande cosplay....it's going to be put off until 09's AX... I just won't have enough time between now and AX 08 to make it with everything that's going on. Sorry everyone ><;

Jo. and I have never sold at Fanime before and so I'm a lil nervous. I know I won't be as bad as I was my first time at AX b/c I know people this time around. Knowing people really makes a difference ^ ^ So even though I'm nervous I won't let it get in the way of my setup =3

You may never see them or be able to actually hug them but online friends are just as important as irl friends.

Because of DA's glitches I missed a very important but very saddening journal. An artist I've always held dear and who has always helped me whenever she could has passed away. I found out tonight when I received a note...at first I thought it might be a prank but I clicked on the link...then went to her account. Sure enough...she was gone. Someone who was more of a big sister than Deanna ever was...and now she's gone. A car accident took her away from hte world. We've lost a very valuable traditional equine and domestic animal artist to a hunk of metal...

And to think that not long ago I was chatting with her on DA about life and pokemon, just having fun...I think...this is the first time I've cried for a human death...I still don't want it to be true.

Sherece, you're the best big sis I've ever had. I love you and I hope your soul is at peace and that you're no longer in pain

Sherece left behind many DA watchers, friends, family. loving sons and husband and a little Filly named Lady who she was training happily before she left...
