If so what are your thoughts on it? I'm currently using Photoshop CS. Will Aperture do the same stuff? I don't really get into all the crazy features...mostly just cropping and adjusting color and sharpness. I may download the free trial of Aperture so i can see what the programs like.

let me know your thoughts.

Canon vs Nikon?!

Currently I have a Nikon D70 and lenses. I'm thinking of selling it along with my N80 body and switching to Canon equipment.

Anyone have any thoughts on either brand? I'm looking for less noisy photos.
Amazing man, so talented. I would love to be able to play the piaino as well as he does. He began the concert by playing about 6 or 7 songs from his new album. Majority of them were very good. Then he went into The Who's Tommy- Pinball Wizard. I think that has to be one of my all time favorite songs. He did a fantastic job covering it. He also played Rocket Man, Daniel, Tiny Dancer , Levon , Philadelphia Freedom, Saturday Night, and many more. He did 1 encore with Crocodile Rock and the last encore and song was Your Song . Another favorite. He put on one hell of a show! I hope I get to see him again.

Listening to: fall out boy - "sugar, we're going down swinging"

An update:

I'm currently in the process of updating my website, trying to make it more of a portfolio. I still need a logo but I am having such a hard time deciding on one. That's where I'm lackinng creativity. I am going to attempt to apply for a hockey shooting job. Some extra would be really nice!!

Speaking of hockey - Less than a month before I go to a preseason Phantoms game. Then in almost a month the regular season starts. I should be going to about 4 or 5 NHL games and my usual number of AHL ones. I can't wait to shoot hockey again!

The Phantoms had a carnvial this past week. It was fun, nothing special though. I met a couple players and got them to sign a photo that I had bought from Bruce Bennett Studios. Now that guy is pretty damn good! Anyway, funny story, a couple of the players were commenting on the photograph and the one - R.J. Umberger - was amazed by it that instead of signing on the matte like everyone else did and like I had wanted him to, he signs right on the picture. And not even on himself. He was so apologetic. It was a riot. My friend and I told him not to worry, it made that photo "special" .

I have off from work tomorrow. Thank god!!! I had the week from hell not last week, but the week before. What business is my personal life to 2 old hags? UGH!! I get just thinking about the whole situation. It was so bad Thursday of that week that the whole way home I was screaming and cursing I think i even had a drink or two to ease the pain

In philly, i wanted to see bon jovi perform. he may be getting older but damn is he still sexy. lol
on the news they said people were lined up from 3 am on and then at 5:30 when they opened the gates thousands of people started running to get up close. that woulda been the way to go.

so anyway, my birthday is tomorrow. whoop de doo. it seems that after 21 there is nothing to really look forward to. isn't it funny how as you get older birthdays become less meaningful. but who knows, maybe that's just me.

i got one of those wacom graphire tablets. can't wait to use it. i'm curious to see how it works.

tomorrow morning we have a parade that will go down my street. i will try and post some pictures. it's pretty much just fire trucks and kids on decorated bikes but its tradition. i took some pictures last yaar but that was with my film camera. i will be anxious to use my digital. then tomorrrow night i have to work, first time EVER to work on my birthday. oh well. it's a fireworks show in cherry hill. i am debating on bringing my camera. i probably will though. i wanna try my hand at fireworks pics. i'm not sure what settings i should use for it though. any suggestions?
I'm so exhausted. My whole body is just wiped. This past week of work was really rough, what with summer camp starting and all. Registration was really heavy and the phones were ringing off the hook. Plus we have our 4th of July event coming up as well so it's been really hectic. Every night this past week I have been in bed by 9:30/10 o'clock and guess what? Tonight is going to be another night of the same times. Oy.

I wanted to go into Philadelphia to take some photographs but that didn't happen. My friend was MIA...no worries though, she's around somewhere. In 1 of 3 states: Pennsylvania, Florida or New York. She'll turn up soon. First Friday is next week, hopefully I can go to that. I'm staying far away from Philly on Saturday since Live 8 will be down there. The Parkway will be a ZOO!!

My doggie recently had surgery. Last Tuesday to be exact. Poor girl, she had knee surgery. It's so sad, but cute, to see her limping on it, sort of hopping. She's recovering well though so that's a good thing.

I miss hockey, it was something to do. Now I wonder if we will have an NHL next season. Probably. I tried to bid on a game worn Norfolk Admirals Jim Vandermeer jersey today. I stopped bidding at $610. Someone else wanted it more than I did, or was atleast willing to spend more than me.

I ordered a new computer last weekend. I recieved the monitor and surge protector. The computer is estimated to be shipped July 12th. Can't wait to get it. 200 gb which puts my little 40 gb computer to shame. I went with an HP. We'll see how it does. I just don't have the money for a Mac anytime soon, and I'm not a professional.

Okay I've written enough now. Goodnight all!

P.S. My birthday is in a little over a week. It's the 4th of July .

I played the slots and actually ended up coming home on the postive side, $1100 on the positive side. I think all in all I won atleast $2000 but I played down to 1100. So now that I have some extra dough I've decided I'm gonna by myself a flash and lens. The flash I'm probably gonna get the SB-600 because I know the 800 is a fantastic flash but I really can't see me having a use for it. Then I am debating on a lens to buy. I really like the 24-120 VR Nikkor lens but it's a f/3.5-5.6. And the other lens is the 85mm f/1.8. Any recommendations or thoughts on this??

okay i'm confused. i was reading a photoshop book and it said something about setting the PS color profile to Adobe RGB and my camera's profile to Adobe RGB. Now I could possibly have read it wrong. But my images (when shot in Raw) are either really blue looking or really red and I dont even know where i begin to start to coreect them. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I really need to clean out my computer. Out of almost 40 GB I have 5 GB remaining. All these damn pictures. I think I'm going to start saving my money for a new computer. Probably a desktop- I'm using a laptop now and i think it's time for a change. I'd love a MAC but they are so much money. I'd never be able to afford that, plus I dont have the money for the MAC version of PS CS. I do want to get a Wacom Graphire Tablet. They are so cool, maybe for my birthday.

I have just a quick random vent to get out. Why is it, some people have so much trouble keeping in contact with others. You have people that you consider "friends" and you think that they consider you a "friend" as well. Then something happens and you don't talk to them for months or don't see them. I am really missing 2 people a lot. I know that after a while people move on and people go their separate ways but it really sucks. I miss these people more than I miss friends from college (the people i'm talking about are ones I used to work with). Oh well, I guess I'm just babbling. But it's so confusing the way people were and the way they are now.

Back to art, I had an idea about a series of photos. I thought of the feeling of "numbness". Not sure what I would do. But maybe I would start by just titling a photo "numb" or "numbness". A friend of mine (one that i was talking about) once gave me an idea for a series....I'm pretty blind, not like blind-blind, but I wear glasses/contact lenses. She told me to do a series of photos of things the way I see them withOUT glasses. So I thought I could try to get in my car and not actually drive with no glasses, but simply sit there and manually focus the camera. Just to see what it would like. These photos would sybolize things that are really important to be able to see clearly. In my travels I'll have to play around with these ideas. Alright, enough is enough.

HAHA FINALLY!! I have figured it out! Turns out my problem was that #1 I needed to uprade the Camera Raw plug-in from adobe.com so that it had the D70 on it and I also downloaded the Digital Negative Converter (.DNG) so that CS could read the file. Now that it did that I get the full screen for editing the pictures. Thanks for everyones help!! :-D

Ok I recently bought a book on Photoshop CS. There is a chapter on photography and it shows a "Camera Raw Plug-In" window. Does that automatically come with CS? Or do I have to get that from somewhere else? I don't remember seeing anything that is just plug-ins. If anyone could help me please drop me a note or reply to this or email.
So I just came back today from my first hockey road trip. We got the idea because my friend's favorite player was coming to Philly to play the Phantoms on Friday. Her favorite player is Bruno St. Jacques, #25 on the Lowell Lock Monsters (Lowell is in Mass.). Anyway, he came to town Friday night and his team beat the Phantoms 1-0. Phantoms even had a 5 min. power play and still couldn't score. What's up with them? After the game, we went down the tunnel and waited near the teams bus. I ended up getting a picture I had taken of him signed. (The picture is posted in my gallery of him in a Carolina Hurricanes jersey.)
On Saturday we drove up to Wilkes Barre where the Lock Monsters were playing the Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins. They did end up losing but we met Bruno again. My friend really wanted a picture with him and we really lucked out. It turned out that we were staying at their same hotel. We weren't the only ones waiting to see the team either.
Wilkes Barre's arena was beautiful, they play at the Wachovia Arena and the cool thing was that parking and the programs were FREE!! Yes, FREE!! Unlike in Phila. where you pay $10 for parking and about $4 for a program.
It was a really cool weekend.

I need a career. I need a future. Has anyone ever seen or
heard of the musical "Avenue Q"? It's a fantastic, hilarious show.
I can relate so well to it. There is a special song that a character
sings about finding his purpose. Well I need to find my purpose in
life. I have a college education. A degree in Communications and
Technology, which I'm starting to find useless. Surely there has to
be some company out there that would hire me. Is it too much to ask
for? An entry-level public relations job??? Here is part of a song
from Avenue Q. I don't know about any of you recent college grads,
but I definitely feel this way....

"What do you do with a B.A. in English,
What is my life going to be?
Four years of college and plenty of knowledge,
Have earned me this useless degree.

I can't pay the bills yet,
'Cause I have no skills yet,
The world is a big scary place.

But somehow I can't shake,
The feeling I might make,
A difference,
To the human race."

I've come to the conclusion that companies are cheap and lazy and
just don't want to hire you unless you have 2 to 5 years experience,
and that's what they call "entry-level". Bullsh*t! UGH!!!! I get
so frustrated and depressed when it comes to finding a job. Today
I went to the mall, again, to get a job at a department store. I
recently had one at Ritz Camera which was great for discounts, etc
and I loved majority of my co-workers, but too much has changed there
and it was time to move on. So now I am stuck unemployed and
unhappy. What will it take for me to find a job??
