I never really paid attention to the News system, in fear of what a community driven content base in that particular situation would present, and it seems my fears were well placed.

The internet isn't what it used to be. Either the collective intellectual capacity of the general public is weaker, or mine is stronger. Either way, it's appalling that with no effort at all, and surrounding myself with the anti-intellectual atmosphere that I have currently found myself pondering therein, I find myself in dismay over the decay of the value of intelligence that society has been branded with.

Therefore my thoughts and questions have turned into wisdom, and I submit to you this small amount of knowledge that I have collected over the span of my existence.

I blame the majority of said decay on the rise of the pathetic pompous and ultimately pitiful sub-cultures that find it suiting to spawn such filth as rap music, programmes such as Pimp my Ride, and ideologies such as African/Caucasian/Asian/Indian culture, and all that lay in between.

Wake up people.

The only reason there is any difference between any of us is because of the many millennia over which the separation of the countless humans before even ancient history itself, adapted and survived their environment in different manners, and therefore gained differing experiences over a long period of time. There are many details, most of which are completely irrelevant, such as creationism verses evolutionism or any other 'ism that attempts to explain the origin of the human race; nothing changes the fact that without extremely convenient circumstantial causes, all humans originated from the same origin, and therefore differentiate between each other only by our experiences.

Our experiences, however, do not define our being.

Our experiences simply enhance our knowledge, wisdom, and all the other things that come with the experience of life itself.

So I submit to you; Enough of the pathetic bullshit like depression, self-destruction, and extremism. Life isn't about the drama. It's about making all of this worth something, making a name for yourself, or even just making someone else feel happy.

Cut the crap.

Live your life.

Well today and yesterday I spent most of working on Liberation. It's going to be a long ride, and I just hope to have something to show you guys before I go on holiday down to Melbourne to see my father. Sometimes I wish this was a little easier, but I guess if it was then everyone would be doing it and it wouldn't be so special to be able to do it without a 40 man dedicated production team all with their own small job, instead of just myself. I'll be posting screenshots of the game so far if anyone is interested, so just hang tight homies. Haha I said homies.

Well I'll be spending 4 weeks down in Victoria, so it'll be a whole month until Liberation can continue to be worked on. If I manage to round up a few people to design some ship parts for me then we'll be able to keep it going even while I'm away, since the majority of the game design process is the fabrication of the models, textures and sounds. I guess I have my work cut out for me eh? Oh, and if you're interested in helping out, just note me or send me an email to Nimphious [at] gmail [dot] com.

I've been getting into Counter Strike alot lately. I'm getting better, although I'm not as good as I can be quite yet

I got the job at Cyber Factory, I'm a web designer, and at the moment, I'm working on the Sweethearts website [WIP]

Might be moving out, and in with Jake, Liam and ~The-Alchemized soon. Sure would be nice to get away from here, especially if it's closer to work, goddamn it's annoying to ride there every day.

Finally figured out all this Direct3D shit. Workin on some stuff I'll show you guys soon. Patience.

I'm going to be starting over with Dead Metal. Since I have D3D down, I'm going to make it 3D in game, not pre-rendered 3D sprites. That will be nice.

It seems that my tastes in music have been changing quite frequently lately. At the moment I'm getting into alot of trance and ambience. Last week I was listening to alot of classicals and some remixes, before that, some indy rock and a little jazz. I think next week I'm going to listen to some decent J-rock, as I haven't listened to any in quite a while now.

A friend of mine has been wanting to make a small chat game with some Final Fantasy 7 characters and a massive model of Midgar he's been working on relentlessly for a few months now. I've been working on the 3D engine for the game quite a bit over the past week, and I've made some progress with DirectX 9. It's hard to find any decent tutorials these days, so I've been doing it trial and error style. Apparently, this kind of thing takes alot of time, which seems to be becoming apparent the more time I spend on it. Another thing I'm working on is a trading card game with another friend of mine who is absolutely obsessed with Magic (the card game). I'll also be using the 3D engine with this.

Meanwhile, Bek just came back from holidays, I can't wait until I get to see her again, we never really get a chance to be together with her mum completely hating the idea of her having a relationship with little more than a rock.

My main focus at the moment (besides social activities, which yes, 99.99% of that is you princess

) is this LAN that my mother has been promising to fix up these tables for so long I could put out the sun with a bucket filled with, the amount of weeks she's since promised to do it, of water. I might have to resort to asking my dad to help me out with it, he already put one of them together with a bit of hardwood hanging around, dunno if it's gonna be able to support monitors or whatever but I guess you never know until you try.

Lots of stuff to take care of, cleaning up shit after christmas, housework, catching up with friends, etc. Hopefully something will come up and I'll get some free time. Until then, kudos people.

My bike is finally finised. Picked it up from the shop the other day, workin' fine again. Got a new seat too. I still gotta fix some stuff up on it and make some final adjustments, but it's still ok to ride.

Paintball last monday. Was pretty sweet. I invited =The-Alchemized, his brother Tiernan, and =GoldenOuroboros. Got a few bruises, but it was hella fun, and so worth it. It was my first time, everyone who had gone before kept telling me I was gonna get bruised up, but a few minor bruises don't scare me.

The day beforehand I had stayed over = The-Alchemized's place so we could leave early in the morning without running all over the place. I left my stuff over there and thought I would've picked it up on the way home, but I forgot. Doesn't matter though, I picked it up yesterday, killer of a ride though.

The match types were pretty interesting. First one was just a basic shootout. Single life, about 8 people on each team. Setup was called "The Village", just lots of crates and hay bale wheels and some boards and 44 gallon drums.

Second one was a little more strategic, the offensive team had to get through a grassy area with a few trees and some dirt mounds, and reach the bridge to win. We did a role reversal on this one and returned to the shade again to cool off.

Third was at a small structure called "The Fortress". Again, single life, an infiltration with two objectives (two flags). The offensive team had to get the flags that were 3 meters from the Fortress and weren't allowed to come any closer than 3 meters to the fortress. The defensive team weren't allowed to leave the fortress. We did a role reversal on this one too.

The fourth game was a two base game. One team's base was "The Church", the other team was at "The Fortress", connecting the bases was a small road about 50 meters long adjacent to a small lake and a grassy plain with a shallow 8 meter wide trench. Each team had to try and reach the opponents base.

The fith game was called "Terminator", me and a voulenteer were the Terminators, The Terminators would go down to the trench area between the two bases and hide somewhere until the "humans" arrived. Every time a human got shot, they would turn into a Terminator, and if they got shot again (friendly fire counted) they would be killed. The initial Terminators had unlimited lives, but they must go back to the start and wait 20 seconds when shot.

The final game was an unlimited lives shootout at "The Village". I got a free reload 'cause it was my birthday. I got shot about 3 times, not including the times when I had to walk off for a reload.

All-in-all it was an awesome day, and I'd do it again any time.

Getting back into Vector because this computer really isn't ready to handle intense 3D. I can't show my true skill with this thing with it's severe limitations. Incase you are wondering, I have a Radeon 9600 SE, still not bad you say? The SE stands for, not Special Edition, but Sloth Edition. Nice work ATi, Nice work...

Second one was a little more strategic, the offensive team had to get through a grassy area with a few trees and some dirt mounds, and reach the bridge to win. We did a role reversal on this one and returned to the shade again to cool off.

Third was at a small structure called "The Fortress". Again, single life, an infiltration with two objectives (two flags). The offensive team had to get the flags that were 3 meters from the Fortress and weren't allowed to come any closer than 3 meters to the fortress. The defensive team weren't allowed to leave the fortress. We did a role reversal on this one too.

The fourth game was a two base game. One team's base was "The Church", the other team was at "The Fortress", connecting the bases was a small road about 50 meters long adjacent to a small lake and a grassy plain with a shallow 8 meter wide trench. Each team had to try and reach the opponents base.

The fith game was called "Terminator", me and a voulenteer were the Terminators, The Terminators would go down to the trench area between the two bases and hide somewhere until the "humans" arrived. Every time a human got shot, they would turn into a Terminator, and if they got shot again (friendly fire counted) they would be killed. The initial Terminators had unlimited lives, but they must go back to the start and wait 20 seconds when shot.

The final game was an unlimited lives shootout at "The Village". I got a free reload 'cause it was my birthday. I got shot about 3 times, not including the times when I had to walk off for a reload.

All-in-all it was an awesome day, and I'd do it again any time.

Also, I have noticed that dA is fiddling with the site alot recently, why can't they warn us, or have a designated down time every few days or something? I'm sick of being half-way through an upload, or downloading something and dA disconnects their servers to make an update. I mean, sure, updates are cool and all, but can you warn us first?
