Well, suffice it to say that alot has been happening in the past few days. Lets start from the top, shall we?

Nr.1 - The deviantRagnarok project has run out of steam, due to lack of interest in the initial phase. Damnit.
I shall pull off a comunity project... one day.

Nr.2 - I went to court on the 13th of this month for my hearing.
For those who haven't been stalking around #theforumcloset like the other good pawpets do (), get yer olde arse in there. Since the case is still ongoing, I'm not sure how much is sencible to release to the open web.

Nr.3 - The stiched collab. I love collaborations, but thanks to some wonderful critique from people on the latest collab, I think I'll back it up and actuall fix the deviation instead of noting the critique down for future reference like I normaly do.

Nr.4 - The Tenerific trip.
Tenerife was awesome. I got tanned, then burned to a crisp in the sun, spent some money (alright, a lot of money) and got some neat things to take home such as my newly aquired zippo lighter.

This journal has now ended.
There are many reasons why I'm leaving but the main one is that I'm going to the Canary Islands for two weeks and I bet you thought I was leaving for good, didn't you?

Well, just a heads up incase I seem to have died. I don't know how much internet access there'll be over there, so you know, I'm not dead.

The DeviantRAGNAROK project is on thin ice, since I'm having problems with my vector based programs, which I need so I can size up Aramakael sketch of the battlefield.
Again, we REALLY need more submission. If this flops, the whole project flobs.
I'm not asking for perfection, even just a sketch is enough once you size it up to 10k times 10k pixels.

Also, here's the longest thread complaints has seen for a long time: [link]

This journal has now ended.

Alrighty, it's time for another one of those Journal things i've been hearing so much about.

This time, no Big Book Of The DeviantART Code Of Conduct entry, I'm afraid. It's run out of topics for the time being.

However, I do have a proposition for those interested.

I have this massive project in mind, one that might prove to be VERY interesting if we can get enough people to take part.

Here's the lowdown: I want to illustrate Ragnarök but with a twist.
Instead of having the Æsir and Jötuns and whatnot going at it, I want to have the people I know on dA to fight in their place.

So, here's what I figure needs to be done.

First off, we need a massive background image. I'm thinking we need about a 10.000x10.000 pixels.
This project will be simliar to the Deviant Christmas Orniment Project.
This means that after we have the background, we'll slice it up into small segment and distribute them to whoever is interested, although there will be some guidelines as we need to preserve the storyline of Ragnarök.

=Aramakael has already expressed a longing to attempt the background but since it's such a MASSIVE thing, I'd appriciate if others could try as well.
If all goes well, we could just pick out the best entry.

So, here are the requirements for Phase one of Project DeviantRagnarok.

The background battlefield:
-Entries must be large. So far, we're thinking 10k x 10k pixels but this is subject to change if we get alot of entries.

-Entries must depict a battlefield. We'd prefer it if it was set just before the fighting broke, where the tention is the highest.

-Entries must be illustrated in a manner that allows us to paste the character entries onto it with little effort.

Phase two involves selecting who's going to be who.
By this, I mean that every deviant will be replacing an Æsir or Jötun but will still play their part.
(meaning that if I were to be Odin and Aramakael were to be Fenrir, I'd have to illustrate my character going for him, just like Ragnarok describes)

Right now, we won't be taking character picks. Naturally many people will want to be key characters and we don't want to mingle bad blood, do we?

So, if you're interested in particpating, drop a comment.
Once we've gauged how many want to take part, we'll solidify the dimensions of the Battlefield for once and all.
At 27. june, we'll stop taking entries so there'll be pleanty of time to think things through.

And if you just have no idea what all this is about, here's the link to the wiki article about Norse mythology = [link]

Untill next we meet.

And seeing as Elemental smote me with a tag, said law came crashing down on me.

So, I present to you, the Six Facts Of Nom.

#1) I used to have a horrible fear of sitcoms. I shit you not, I used to hide behind sofa cushions when Friends came on.

#2) I enjoy writing speaches. I have won two awards for my speaches to date.

#3) I have descent English writing skills but can do five different accents of english almost flawlessly. These include Monarch-Englishman, Rasta-Englishman, Cabbie-Englishman, Irish-Englishman and my personal favourite Chav-Englishman.

#4) I don't mix with deadlines. I had a ten page essay assignment on the Cuban Revolution to do and had five weeks to do it. I did it the day before it was due in six hours while chatting in #theforumcloset.

#5) The joints in both my wrists crackle loudly whenever I move them. This is becoming somewhat of a problem when I'm sneaking around.

#6) I was and am to date, horribly addicted to Malt. I spend over one hundred dollars worth of icelandic currency monthly on Malt.

And here comes the smackdown...I tag anyone who hasn't been tagged yet.

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here on this twenty fifth of April to mourn the passing of the fourteen year old Nomaran. He fought well and went out in a blaze of glory and all capital letter screaming but fell no sooner than he started.

Now, without further adue, We'd like to introduce the fifteen year old Nomaran, fresh out of the collective rectum. The new model will include all the flashy features of old version but with a few patches and fixes including:

-More Memory. Nom XV will now longer forget to do stuff he's been promising.

-Shifted focus on deviations. For the last few days, the stunning Toxicfool and #forum's resident dutchman, Psychodesignz have been helping me smooth out the first chapter. To give some preview as to what you're in store for, it's a Science Fiction piece. I welcome anyone willing to check for me in my very own chatroom, #theforumcloset to come on down and give me opinions. The more insight, the better.

-Accessories for the new model will include a Honda 230 CRF motorcycle, expected to arrive on the twenty seventh. Well, then there's the small amount of time it takes before the Toll gives it a green sticker. It's used and bought off Ebay for about 2000 dollars.

I wish ye all a good day, gents. See you in the cloth laden depths of #theforumcloset.

Anyway, I bring you what I've been working on for the last few days.

The Big Book Of The DeviantART Code Of Conduct presents...

THE ARTIST EVOLUTIONARY LADDER

Stage one: Stage one artists are the people you usualy spot on shouting in the Welcome Center. These artist come from all age groups, ranging from 13-50 and up.
These artists will usualy strive to build up a fanbase and are generaly accepting of critique, however brutal it may be although they have been know to smile through the tears as it were.

Stage Two: Stage two artists are those who have built up a small fanbase and are expanding their artistic horizons. These deviants usualy tap into the fanbase for inspiration and will often do requests for people they know or even complete strangers. These deviants usualy have 5-10 thousand pageviews.

Stage Three: Stage three artists are a cut above the Stage Two artists because of how they have discontinued the act of building a fanbase and have shifted focus toward the art. Stage Three artist s are the most acceptant of critique and take all input (even the badly spelt one) into mind.
This can be seen when looking at their gallery, in which each deviation is a step up from the last one.
These deviants usualy have 10-100 thousand Page views and some have even strengthend their fanbase by voicing themselvs in the forums.

Stage Four: Stage four artists are the people you see from time to time on the Daily Favourites page. Although some still maintain their fandom, others have given up and allowed to live its own life. More often than not, these people are open to commision, having discovered that their skillsets can be marketed for a small fee. These people usualy avoid the forums, fearing massive ''omg it himzz!'' fits from the populace. These deviants often have 100-900 thousand Page views.
They have also usualy perfected their style and are less willing to hear critique.

Stage Five: These deviants are the cream of the crop, the horrificaly elite.
These deviants have fanbases the size of small communities and submit like crazy.
They can be recognized as their latest art domintates the Daily Fav's page on a regular basis.
Although incredibly talented, these deviants rarely interract with their fandom.
These deviants have one million pageviews upwards and usualy have fair income from selling prints.

Now then, which do you fall under?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Personaly Stuffs

Ah, it's getting closer to my birthday ( the 25th), as well as my motorbike. I long for my Honda CRF 230

As far the Complaints regular deviation that needs coloring, it's up for grabs.
I just don't have the skills to color it, I could barely illustrate it.
So, this is what I propose. If you have an interest in it, I'm willing to note the .psd file to someone who will color it as part of a Collaboration.
Once the coloring has been done, we both upload it to our respective galleries and I shall include that small Rep-sheet I promised in the description of mine.

Well, that's all. Enjoy what's left of Easter.

There is currently a much demand for a ''header'' of sorts here. Bitch and whine about what could be done to resolve this, would you?

This week on your weekly excerpt from The Big Book Of The DeviantART Code Of Conduct:

Randomness; The good, The bad and the downright physicaly abused through the internet

As long as there have been forums, there have been fools. It is not known when this happend, but at some point, the act of acting foolish by spouting off random phrases became a fad.
As this fad grew and grew and grew, it started spreading to other forums. To date it can be found in almost every single forum on the internet.

But, with the incline of ''random'' phrases being spouted out, these very things became predictable.
So, we the writers of the guide have compiled a list of verbs, phrases, things, people that were once viewed as random but are infact, about as random and unexpected as getting AIDS from a fifty cent hooker in Africa.

- Cheese. Beaten to within an inch of it's life, this on in particular can be found in almost EVERY single webcomic at some point or another.

- Chuck Norris. People, he's not that great. He's a fad that should have died if it weren't for that one fucktard that keeps posting Chuck Norris quotes to compensate for his lack of wit as he gets multi-pwned by everyone and their plz account.

- Vin Diesel. Although far less abused than Chuck Norris, this is one of those people that burns brighly for half a second and is then never seen until you catch a glympse of him in a sleezy five megabyte porno flick you unintentionaly download under the guise of an Iron Maiden song.

- Mwhahahahaha. Funny only when someone actually does something that would fit in with the sound of cackling. Replying to a thread with only this: Not smart, newbie.

-Monkies. Unless you're making a clear Monkey Island reference, don't.
The last thing we need is another batch of people explaining in all caps HOW TEH MUNKEYS IS AFTERS THEMS LAWL.

- Sporks. Honestly, not beaten at all in these forums as of late, but it deserves an honorable mention for being so damn tempting to randomize at times.

If you want random, try something that hasn't been used before.
example: retarded nine year olds on meth playing the organ with wooden block surgicaly grafted to their fingers.

THAT'S random.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

ART STATUS AND AFFAIRS
There seems to be some interest in making forum trading cards around here.
Is this just a sudden craze or are people actually going to go through with making a complete set?

This journal has now ended.
The Fuzz will have been tracking your IP from the moment you started reading and will be breaching your deadbolts in two minutes...

There is currently a much demand for a ''header'' of sorts here. Bitch and whine about what could be done to resolve this, would you?

This week from TBBOTDCOC, we bring you:
-The Whores Code Of Honor.
-The Basic Manners You Should Show While Attending A LAN Party.

The Whores Code Of Honor

Rule One: A whore is not made by his/her post count.
Elaboration: Forum whoredom is not achived by just having 20k one-liner posts.
Forum whoredom is achived by being either funny, witty, insightful, helpful or able to present a good arguement. Most whores achive status with a combination of two or more.

Rule Two Whores don't sell their comrades down the river.
Elaboration While this rule is more of a blanket rule that one that's ment to be specific, a good example of this is when a whore notices a comrade that has submitted a policy violation.
Instead of smashing Report Violation with great vigor, a whore should rather inform his comrade of his wrong doings in an understanding way, perferably one devoid of the holier-than-thou nonsense.

Rule Three: N00b pwning is above you.
Elaboration: As a whore, you are generaly looked up too and while it is not imperitive that you act like a shining example of niceness all the time, you are expected to have moved on to tackling others by the time you're regcognized as a whore.
Pwning a fellow whore is deamed acceptable on encouraged so long as the Rules of Enpwnment (ROE) are followed.
Exceptions: A noticeable exception is when a n00b assumes a holier-than-thou stance in his/her opening post, after which he is no longer classified as a n00b but rather Fresh Meat.

Rule Four: The Devil makes work for whores who make needless plz account.
Elaboration: Plz accounts are a fad, a dieing one at that.
The last thing we need is a few thousand pointless plz accounts casting a mile wide shadow over the few that are truely great.*

* Note: Hypocricy level dangerously high.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Basic Manners You Should Show While Attending A LAN Party

You shall not under any circumstances walk case-to-case asking for handout of food/soda/candy/alcohol/money/sexual favours.
Doing this will result in me whipping out a screw driver and etching the phrase ''Bring your own'' into the side of your rig.

You may (although it is frowned upon when done repeatedly) smash your keyboard or your own equipment if you have gotten badly pwned in a game.
But the moment you so much as set a finger on either someone else's rig, equipment, own person, belongings you will be asked to leave and fined for whatever you have broken. You will also be denied acess to compete in future LAN parties.
We wil also confiscate your rig until you pay for what you broke.
You do NEVER, but NEVER touch any piece of Networking equipment that has been set up.
The same goes for extension cords. Do not touch them unless you either know EXACTLY what's connected to them and are certain that they can dish out the juice needed.
This means being down to earth and actually asking someone in charge if you can plug it something in as it might only take you an extra minute to do so, while it only takes us only about 15 seconds after being dropped from our games to lynchmob your ass. Use your brain.

If your balls haven't dropped yet, stay the fuck out of Skype or anything microphone related.
In most cases, you will be possitioned next to your team mates in games such as Counter-strike and will thus not need a mic.
Abusing the mic with your screaching nails-down-a-chalkboard voice will not get you loved.

You get only if you give.
This means that unless you're willing to share, whether it be foodstuffs or files, you don't get squat. Deal with it.

Entry fees means everybody pays. You are not excempt because you are you.
However, if you happen to be providing something vital to the Party such as a switch or eithernet cables for those who didn't or couldn't bring their own, you might be able to get an exception.
Your charming personality alone doesn't get you in.

This week the BBOTDCOC brings you the chapter of: Pwning.
(Translated from the BBOTDCOC, chapter five, subsection nineteen, paragraph eleven)

Pwning can take many forms in this online world we call the forums.
First, we have your run of the mill pwn, which is done by defeating your opponents train of thought by derailing it with logic.
Usualy, a or a emote accompanies the final nail onto the opponents coffin.

Second, we have the pseudo pwn, which while similar to the pwn, is hollow and easily demolished by any John Doe. A pseudo pwn can be recognized by lack of cohierancy, gapping holes in logic and occational misspellings.
The bottom line is that his pwn will zing the opposition, but doesn't stand up to closer inspection and can lead to the pwning of the user.

Third, we have the Multi-pwn. This forum whore favourite entails that some fool will start throwing around multiple arguments in an angry, yet self-assured manner. The soon to be pwner will then systematicaly bulldoze these arguements with vigor, a sharp tounge and a solid logic base.

It's important to remember that you are not to declare pwnage.
Pwnage can only be declared by a third party.
Call it a sort of ''ask not for whom the pwn pwns...'' rule.

This just in from the forums:
...I'm standing here live with Nomaran and Rekluma who have just emerged from the foul gates of Help With Life.
I'm being informed that they were part of a rescue squad sent into HWL to determine the fate of a fellow whore how'd disappeared behind these very gates not more than three months ago.
The team started planning the misson in Complaints but seeing that they lack proper equipment, they made a small side journey to Thumbshare to rally a bandwagon and inflate their ego´s to almost critical mass.
They then headed into the The Forum Directory, a platou extending past all known forums, until they came across the blackend portal into Help With Life.
Not much is known from what transpired therein but the following has been confirmed:
1) The forum whore that went AWOL was found, dead on arrival.
2) Several members of the expedition were lost to emo kids and attention whores.
3) Despite all this, a valuable document was recovered.

This afformentioned document is non other than the fabled TBBOTDCOC, or The Big Book Of The DeviantART Code Of Conduct.
Chapters from this legendary book of wisdom will be translated and integrated into what whill now become a Weekly journal, just as soon as our sponsors (Noma-P-Sism and Grammar nazis.inc) recive their shipment of Japanese scientists, who will be doing the actual decoding.

------------------

Work status
Isn't wonderful how time just seems to fly?
I'm been fairly busy during the weekdays, mainly because I've taken up boxing which eats away most of my nights (from 18:00 to 22:00).
Weekends are the only real time I have to do work. Well, weekends and sick days.

The Complaint Regular Deviation is however still five by five. All the inking is done and I'm hoping to be able to colour it this week.
On a related note, my submission ratio sucks. Sucks like a Dyson.

-----------
Personal musings
You know what I find really tormenting? Having a concept you like, one that you've been pressing out in your mind for weeks, one that you've been dreaming about, one that's been eating away at your free thinking time and not being able to do anything with it.
Just as you think you've gotten in figured out, it twists out of shape and eludes your grasp again.
This is about the same equivilent for your willingness to draw as ingesting cyanide is for your williness to live.

Now, back to the matters at hand.

The Complaints Regulars deviation is progressing quite nicely. I'm sketched half the characters, posed and all and just need to finish the other half and the background before I scan it and start coloring.

Movies. I saw Hostel last Saturday.
If you haven't seen this film yet, I'll give you some good advice:
Pack a barf bag. Seriously. If you thought SAW I or II were even remotely scary, this film will blow you away.
During the mid film break, I had to get some air or I would have lost it right there. After the break, it was easier to watch.
So, go watch this film. It's good, if you like Eli Roth and Quintin Tarantino that is.

Well, christmas has come and passed us once again.

This year, I got a brand new spanking Wacom Graphire tablet from the folks, some movies, the yearly pair of leather gloves (I go through a pair once a year. Don't quite know how they get trashed in the first place )

The Wacom tablet will be a welcome change from the pen heavy Trust 1200 that I've been using up until this point.
Besides the difference in quality, the Graphire is significantly smaller than the 1200. The 1200 is 12by8, whereas the Wacom is 4by5.
A 6by8 was the optimal size I'd requested but seem they aren't expecting another shipment until Jan.
4x5 is good enough for me anyway.

There's also talk from a certain dolphin that I might be getting a subscription in the not-to-distant future.

I suppose a summary of the year 2005 is in order. (Don't worry, I don't deal in long, boring, repetitive speaches)
Art wise, I've made some progress since joining dA. I would have liked to master sideview and 3/4 view but that's gonna take a little more time. Proportions are getting better, not quite there, but inching closer.
I'd also have liked to get more stuff uploaded this year but to be quite frank, it's been a busy year. I do still have some unfinished Sketches in the Scraps section and I'm planning on adding a few more following this journal.
Coloring skills have moved from nada to ''better than a three minute fill layer job'' grade.

Forum and community wise, I've been fairly active. With the whooping 4k forum post milestone just passed, I'd say I'm rather satisfied with myself. *ego stroke*
Complaints forum be the name of the game. Go there. Go there now.
Also, to my suprise, I'm now addicted to #forum.

Well, before I sign off, I do have a question for those who watch me. Which is better:
A) To post a journal each time you uplode stuff and give some insight into the process behind said stuff.
B) To post a journal every now and then just to keep this place bouncing, whilst still occationaly providing insigh into the artwork.

I ask you this because I haven't been the most active of deviants gallery wise. The reason why I don't post journals ever now and again is because I used to watch a person who was mainly all journal, no posting and to be frank, it bugged me to the limits. I'd hate to put the people who by some chance of fate decided to watch me through the pain of having to roll their eyes once a week when a hyper active abomination of a journal pops up in their DevWatch.

Gee, this thing is getting kinda long... Well, I've said enough for now. Merry christmas!

As it turns out my moms seizures were caused purly by stress( some stress, eh?) and she's been given doctors orders to take a few weeks of.

I've haven't spent much time drawing but I have been comtemplating some concepts to draw, and who knows? Maybe I'll start a comic or graphic novel( however crappulent it might turn out)
So far, I have worked out a fairly long storyline but Im still polishing out the details and working on character designs.
Im also looking for someone to do a trade or collab with. Anyone?

Greetings.

For the past month I haven't exactly been a very submiting deviant.
This is mainly due to the fact that I had a block on my Themed Xchange project.(I have 15 different half completed templates of what I was going to do)
During this block, I was really getting pissed at my computer and lo and behold, the thing crashed.
But to my incredible suprise, I had a copy of most of the stuff I valued on the Backup Drive( My dads external 160GB drive)
A fairly old copy but better than nothingh, right?
So, after I've grabbed the external It accured to me that it might be possible to extract the files on the crashed disk since only the XP files had given way.
So I took the crashed drive to a Linux box at my dads shop and after about an hour of googling for instructions, I managed to find a way to mount the drive.
Its all intact, all the .psd files and even my music collection

Formating and re-installing XP took little time and as luck whould have it, my aunt had a copy of PS7 laying around.

But here's where It all started to go wrong.
I get a phonecall from school saying that my mom is in the hospital.
I was excused to go see her but no dice, she was being diagnosed when I arrived.
She was sent home after they said it was nothing dangerous.

Two days later, I get another call, again saying she was at the hospital after fainting.
This time round, the doctors did some extensive tests.
And concluded that she has either Epilepsy(Sick Sinus syndrome, I believe they called it) or something worse.

A crashed computer is fixable, my mom fainting at a moments notice( and mind you, she could have been driving!) is something that keeps me up at night.
I have done NOTHING but worry about this ever since I found out. Its been affecting my sleep to my ability to balance objects.
They're still doing tests but I really hope it doesnt get worse than it already is.

Were expecting to get the results from the tests in half a month. Hopfully it will put my fears to ease.
So in conclusion, I hope you will forgive me if im not submiting much for the next half month.

1. I regret to say that I am being trailed for Crimes Against Humanity among other things such as:
-Torturing hostages to death with bad Michael Jackson impresssions
-Exessive use of bad puns
-Shrinking and stealing the Eiffel tower
-Cooking books to avoid paying taxes on my island of indeterminate location
-Attempted world take over...twice
-Fiddling with the evil gene of a mammoth
-Using the dead to create a force of Super Agent fighting henchmen
-Sheltering various criminal figures, among them the sinker of the Titanic, Lord Kane
-Total Lack of urinals for Evil Lair staff
-Not hiring a single female worker(it affored the staff the pleasure of not wearing clothes on casual friday...could you say no to those puppy eyes of countless yellow jumpsuit wearing workers?)
-Killing 5 govermential officals with a row of sinister bookcases
-High fasion crimes

Or in reality: Ive been playing Evil Genius; most addictive game EVER

2. The current projects
First off, my arsenal of drawing has just been bolstered yet again!
This time the newcomer is a Trust 1200 tablet.
Upon installation we opened a bottle of coke in celebration as I and all my kit welcomed the tablet to its new home
BUT
All was not well as the arrival of this strange device created a disturbance in the force.
A disturbance so great in fact, that it maimed my beloved Photoshop CS2.
Due to this reason CS2 has crossed into the Dark side and refuses to accept the existance of my tablet.

Like the tiltle says, i have had some things happening latly, lets start with the good shal we?

The Good: I just got into drawing school, hurray for courses to improve deviation quality!(not that my previous deviations showed much of that 0.0)

The Bad: Just started my sumer job, and that leaves me with 4 hours to myself a day! thats right, work, quick lunch ,4 hours free time , drawing school, dinner, colapsing on cold bedroom floor....

This means that i now have even less time to work on drawing(cept for drawing school) and might not be able to post any devs for the time being( I REALLY have to make some time for posting something)

What I can however promise is that after drawing school I will post many pics, from either drawing school or randomly inspired sketching ( I want someone to cruzify my ass I I dont....)

Wonder if anyone reads this.... o.O

Well first off I added a deviation called lighted but it has now been moved to the scraps section, as it was more of a lighting experiment than a completed deviation.

Anyway I have a few scans awaiting inking and cg so im gonna play this one by ear and post em when there done instead of rushing and ending up with a half-assed picture.
