I finished reading Aztec a while ago. It was decent, bit of a history novel and all. Long and dry but with plenty of bloody sacrifices and descriptive sex scenes to make it enjoyable.

I also finished reading "Ender's Shadow" and can proudly say that I am more in love with Bean than I ever was with Ender. Sadly it didn't produce any art like Ender did, maybe later.

I've been working on cartoon designs for these people who want to make a book on business. The cartoons are finally something that I would like to put in a book - ya know something I put effort into. Hopefully they'll like them. I might put them on here because they're not bad.

I'm on to "The Golden Compass" and I'm already much more impressed with the book than with the movie. I like how it's much more obvious that the daemons represent a person's soul than it was shown in the movie. I already have plenty of ideas for what Lyra and Mrs. Coulter will look like in my head and I'm glad that my imagination wasn't stunted by how the characters were portrayed in the movie. I'm intrigued about how the book will approach the "anti Christian themes" and if they will be stronger than the movie let on.

+squee+

After trekking it up north this past week I've come back with literally an armload of books....gah! I'm already in the middle of "Aztec" and "Stumbling into Happiness" one is a history/fiction and the other is philosophy. Not tooo bad but honestly I just wanna finish them :-/
NOW I've picked up "Little Women" which I've started and I wanna read more than the other two as well as "Middlesex" which I've started and can't wait to get into because of the rave reviews people have been giving me. Then I bought this awesome little Harry Potter "Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them" copy I HAD to buy and it's really cute because along with feeling like you're reading one of their books there's all this writing from "harry and ron" in the margins lol. I'm sure everyone knows about these but I just found it and had to laugh. hee!
I also picked up a HUGE collection of a bunch of Kurt Vonnegut (my 11h grade English teacher would be so happy SQUEE) for $7.00! as well as two other randoms for even cheaper...AND all hardcover. If anyone is ever in Oscoda there's this store on US23 called Cliffs, and is literally floor to celieing full of used books, the unorganization is unbelievable lol. A book-worm's dream!

OH YEAH and I also stole Jer's HUGE copy of Narnia.......o.O and I have to read all this before school starts or I'm never gonna want to concentrate!

My scanner is fixed....well actually the truth is that I didn't really know how to use it properly XP. Doesn't matter I have a whole bunch of new pretties up and will soon be uploading more so enjoy . Other than that mah birthday is coming up and I'm gonna be 22 O.o. My friend said the only thing about turning 22 is that it means you survived being 21 for a year. They were right. Also I saw POTC3 and it was AWESOME. Once I figure out how to draw those people there might be some pirate art up here. DD

My scanner is broken and no one knows how to fix it ( or is it that we're all just lazy/busy?) I'm done wtih school OMG with a close call with my Women's Studies exam...thank God for awesome teachers. Other than that I'm still in retail which I need to move away from as soon as possible. I've been drawing a hell of a lot lately and of course have nowhere to put it all. I've been trying to get more organized with well EVERYTHING. stories. art. life. I think I've finally broken down to a set design for my Palia character who I've been developing for years now. rawr. Can I just draw things for a living. Will someone just pay me to paint their but into a cat's face. One day there will be a job like that, and then where will I be?

I also had a breakthrough. This one artist that I've been stalking(reading) for a few years put up a livejournal post about how sometimes you really do feel like you suck at what you do, everyone is better and people don't help because A. they either don't understand or B. they say that you're not going to get any better. Now I don't have the latter and I have plenty of people who support me and such but I went for a long while from the beginning of this year til about last month where I didn't think I could draw for crap. I thought that everyone was better than me and that I might as well just lock up my art supplies. However this fellow endevorer shown some light and I think every single person in the world can draw. And damnit, I am good at what I do, I may not do fancy schmancy stuff but I can draw hella good. So this is to pass along to anyone else who might be feeling the same way. Because it sure helped me. Just say FUCK YEAH MAN ....it's made me smile all day.

peace

So....yeah I need to copy a whole mess of stuff and post it up here...I have so many sketchbooks full and realized theyre good enough to go here....it's just scanning and sizing and fixing is such a pain.

Somebody buy me a new laptop....and photoshop....and install it...(I'm lazy)

Well I finished Wicked which was awesome but of course we all know how it ended so that was kinda disappointing. But I highly recommend it plus it provides all kinds of tastey inspiration and I <3 Elphaba (didn't I mention that?)

So....what else oh yes I saw 300 FUCKING AWESOME MOVIE.....omg my masculine tomboy sidewas all OMG ME WANT SWORD AND KILL TINGS. I also really wanna buy Pan's Labryinth when it comes out cuz it was so tastey with eyecandy goodness. ooooo Pan was soo cool and the girl so pretty......(wants to draw now)

Drawing things for class.....makes me sad because it is boring and the other kids are hopeless and good art is lost on them. Even tho it was crappy my art class reminds me of the movie "Art School Confidential" NO ONE UNDERSTANDS ME!

My boyfriend is in the hospital and I can't visit him.... <cries>.......<draws>......<sniff>

SO I'm going to try and start drawing some of the characters from Wicked ESPECIALLY Elphaba because even tho I hate admitting it, she's very much like me, except for the fact that she's ALOT more politically activist than I am. But I respect her and she's one of the most well written characters I've read in a long time. Wicked is <3

I have issues working on art for class, I'd rather be drawing other things......I have no idea of fixing this. Do art teachers always get frustrated with the free spirits and the difficult students, but don't they realize those are usually the better students?

I've realized I hate value studies
