An early Happy Thanksgiving to you all! This will be my first married TG and hubby and I will be celebrating it in NC with...ourselves...and the cats.

Sorry for the lack of updates here. I'm still without a scanner and my camera is forever eating batteries so it's more difficult for me to upload things than I'd like. I do have more stuff to upload and it should be up after thanksgiving :) I'd also like to put up some fun gifty type stuff people might want to give as gifts. I'm thinking ACEO's, bookmarks and the like. Thoughts/opinions? Not sure on any themes for them yet, probably seasonal type things.

Even though I haven't been posting I do come to dA everyday and check on things. I plan on being much more active in the future.

Well the move went as well as could be expected. Now we are kinda settled into our apt in NC in the land of Marines. It's different but so far pretty ok, I can even find my way around a little.

Unfortunately I left my all in one printer/scanner/copier at home...so i'm not sure when i will get that back. Latest is when my friends make a road trip to come visit... On the positive side we do have a nice epson photo printer...so I'm going to fiddle with that and see how the prints are. I might be doing some of my own printing in the future.

I will be headed back to VT for a friends' wedding this weekend, but will be back early next week. Then things will settle down for a little bit and I'll be able to get into art again.

I'm just waiting until it's time to go pick hubby up from the airport!! He's home to help pack and then we will move to NC next weekend. yey!!

I did upload some new art today. I have been bored and wanting to draw, ofc i packed up most my art supplies. So i hooked up my tablet to my hubby's desktop & dl'ed an english version of SAI and tested it out. I like it...tho my thumb hurts from using my tablet..i push to hard lol. think i need to change my tablets sensativity settings. I need more practice on it..i rarely use it. I have a hard time making lines go certain ways for some reason...usually i just turn the paper...but doesn't help when using the tablet lol.

So anyway I'll be gone for a week or so. But once I'm unpacked i should have new art (photography & traditional) to upload :)

We have most of our plans done for the big move to NC. Hubby will be home on leave next week for packing (fortunately most is packed up) and then we will make the long drive to nc. The only things left to do are finish packing, get sedatives from the vet for the cats, and confirm that cat friendliness of the hotels (they say they are, i told them we'd have cats when i made the reservations, but I'm going to call and make sure) cuz if we get there and there's issues about that..there will be words. Strong loud words.

Anyway, not sure about internet or when we will have that..so I will probably be offline for a good week or two. Especially since the weekend after we move, i have to come back here to VT for our friends' wedding.

AFter the move, and unpacking, and the wedding, i expect to be much more active on dA. I will only be taking one online class this semester, my last class to get my professional certificate in web design. Intermediate databases...woot? I plan on totally redesigning my website, and uploading lots more to my myspace, as well as getting long overdue art up here to da. I'm also going through old stuff on da and putting some in scraps and deleting stuff all together.

I finally have an appt in NC and a date to move in! I will be moving at the end of this month, and probably away from a computer for the last week of the month as hubby will be home on leave to help move XD

Artwise, i'm trying to draw everyday. I've been doing hand studies and realized wow..i used to be able to draw hands decently well...now they look horrible. But even the past few days I've noticed an improvement in the studies. I think i'm going to continue with hands until at least the end of the week. I'm not sure what to concentrate on next however... maybe body proportions? or maybe I should continue on with smaller bodyparts? Feet? eyes? faces? torsos? Hmm... yeah i think thats the way to go..then put it all together.

After I move i hope to be able to get my scanner up and running (or a new scanner) so more new artwork...and I do have some pics from this spring still on my camera so I should be uploading them as well.

I also hope to get a new computer after the move..right now working on mine is painfully slow. My desktop needs more ram. And my hubby's desktop recently lost one of it's ram sticks...and has no photoshop...so I can't do much on it either. I want to get a laptop thats good for gaming, and digital art & webdesign. So something with a good graphics card, ram and hd's ^^ If anyone has any suggestions let me know :)

Life
First off, I haven't moved yet...but should be soon (yeah i've been saying that for like a month). My hubby has looked at a bunch of places, and they either a. got rented out from under us, or b. nice outside, bad inside or c. no pets (or in some cases no cats) allowed. So i'm trying to stay positive and keep it together.

Secondly, i've started drawing more. I want to improve and am trying to draw a little each day at least. I'm really looking for anything that might be able to give me an idea of different exercises I can do each day. Right now i mostly draw things on my desk or just random character sketches. Right now i'm just very unhappy with how my art is, nothing seems to come out well...or maybe not how i want it. Maybe i should make a list of things to improve and just work on one thing every day or week or whatever segment of time. So please by all means help me figure out how i can improve! I really want to, thats why i always ask for critiques on my work cuz I want to improve and know it needs it...tho sadly no one responds like ever :( The biggest reason i joined DA was to help get feedback on my stuff... Anyway, i'm gonna try hard to improve.

So I should have new art to post soon..but not till after the move. my scanner still doesn't work for some reason (tho it will make copies). and my camera eats batteries and so is never charged.

I'm back everyone! And Married lol. I'm now a Marine wife ^^ I got married this past sat. and dispite iffy weather all day everything went great, we couldn't have asked for things to go better. Everything was great and everyone had a great time. Unfortunately, my hubby had to return to base today :( So he's making the long drive to NC. Hopefully we won't be apart too long, only a month (yes ONLY a month...when u are used to seeing each other for 2 weeks every 6 months a month is nothing :p ). So at some point I will be moving to the costal NC area. Then at least we will be together for a while....

Firstly happy anniversary to me and my bf <3 We've been together 6 years and have probably been through more than most couples married or otherwise. 3 years long distance durring college, 2 years living together working opposite shifts and making the hard transition from student to working, just trying to get buy adult. Then a year plus (and counting) with him in the USMC and me at home in VT first loosing my job, then returning to school for web design.

Though things have been hard, especially this last year (seen him only 24 days) we've made it through and hopefully things will only get better (I won't say easier cuz as all military families and s.o's know thats just not how it works).

I will also be going to visit him later on this month, then he will be comming home for leave. This is also gonna be around the end of the semester. So I will be scarce in all my online places until after the holidays...probably. Depending on things and how they go, might be longer.

I went out and took some new photos today. Just went out in my yard and in the woods a bit. I met a lovely doe deer in the woods...got a crappy pic of her...so it's not uploaded, i might go out again this evening/afternoon if the sun is still out, hopefully the deer will be back and I'll be able to get a pic. So pics of the lovely foliage will have to suffice. Lots of yellows around my house at least.

So I'm back to being a poor college student, and instead of spending my money on clothes, or even art supplies I spend it on trips to go see my Marine bf. I'll be going down to see him the end of Nov. For the USMC bday ball :D But in addition to that I've got a few bills to pay off, so I'm going to be selling off origional art, some old, and I will be making some new. In the next few days I'll be going through my old art and seeing what I'll sell. Then I will be making some new art (if time allows) for sale. I'm thinking maybe AOTC's or bookmarks or something like that, maybe larger pieces too.

I'm really missing my Marine right now :( I mean I always miss him, but now is one of the times where it's almost like a physical pain. I miss him. As a result my caring for most relationship stuff is very low. Oh too bad so sad you havne't seen ur bf is a few days or a week. Tell someone who cares. Cause no offense but I havent seen mine, in oh...lets see...just about 2 months....and that means I have just about 2 months till I see him again....and that will only be for a weekend. As a result you may see more Marine themed graphics here.

I'm also going to be going back to school soon. I'm persuing my professional certificate in web design. Classes start next week. I'm unsure how that will cut into my time. Dispite not uploading stuff here, I have uploaded stuff to myspace and I have drawn stuff however, my scanner is still down. So might just take some pics w/ my camera and upload that way.

Also to help me pay for books and gas, and whatnot my comissions are open. What do I do for commissions?

I'm still scannerless :( I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and updating the driveser & software that came w/ my printer/scan/copier...i am making progress, before it just wouldn't work the light on the printer would flash and nothing. Now at least i'm getting an error message on the computer. So i'm still slowly working on it, and hopefully it will be resolved soon. I do have afew things to scan, some finished things and a few sketches for my sketch blog to be [link]

Other than that i've been working on graphics for a graphics site on myspace afew made by me and afew other Marine wives i met on the forums at [link] we make Marine themed graphics ^^

Since the olympics started i've been watching them, yey for getting canadian tv in addition to american tv cause it's one more station with different events on it. :)

I'm back from NC...been back a while just lazy to update ^^;; It was great to see him again :D Tho i did have a trip frought with travel delays going down and back..mostly going back -_-;; everything from the trip to the airport to my flights was delayed -_-;;

Hopefully i'll get to see him soon.

Just a quick entry, i'm in the process of ::trying:: to scan in the image i did for #1 of the 100 theme challenge, introduction. So hopefully it will work. My computer isn't seeing my scanner..and my all in one printer will print, and copy but isn't scanning...so hopefully i can get one of them to work...

I also have joined Redbubble, there you can buy some of my artwork as prints. Just afew right now, i will probably add more later...i want to add newer stuff so i'm putting some finishing touches on some older works and working on some new stuff. Link to my redbubble is in my header *points up* i've heard it's better quality than cafe press especially for t-shits...i have no t-shirt designs yet...maybe in the future, we'll see :)

{edit:} my scanner still isn't working :( i don't have the right software, so i might have to wait until i can go home and get the right cd from my dad if i can't dl the right thing... so i do have new art to post...but i just cant scan it into my compy :(

Just a quick update since I haven't updated in a while.

Firstly some wonderful news, my bf - the Marine, came home on leave for 2 whole weeks. Needless to say it was wonderful, we had a great time. We saw his family and went to his bro's graduation from college, and of course spent lots of quality time together. I haven't been so happy in a long time. But sadly, he is now far away again and I'm not sure when I'll see him again :( I had wanted to go see him this summer...but w/out a job that won't happen. The USMC Ball is in Nov. tho and I'll probably go to that if I can (pfft "if I can"...more like try to stop me!).

I've been busy looking for jobs and trying to figure out my life. Since my bf left i've given serious thought to the idea of moving to NC so I can be closer to him. On the one hand I'd love too and it might be a good oppertunity (or at least change), on the other hand I'm terrified of the idea and think it might be better to wait.

I'm also trying to get back into the art side of things, since it's been neglected for far too long and it is something that I enjoy doing. I have some plans for projects :)

What is the Comission Process?

First get in touch with me and let me know what you are looking for me to do. For example, if you want me to draw a character tell me about the character and if you have any specific ideas of what you want the drawing to look like (specific poses, etc). I will ask you any questions I might have about it, then start sketching. I'll send you a sketch and get any feed back from you. Once the project is finished, I'll contact you about payment, and confirm shipping information (if any). Once payment is recieved I'll send you your artwork. For digital artwork the process is similar, except I will e-mail the finished product to you, or post it online for you to download.

What payment do you accept?

Ideally I'd like payment via paypal only. However, I know this isn't always an option for people, so if it doesn't work for you don't dispair and talk to me about it and we will work something out.

Pricing:

I run a flat rate as of 4/30/08 of $20/hr for all services, not all services take the same amout of time so here are my estimations. Rember these prices are approximations only, the more intricate the project the longer it will take (ex. the more characters in the picture the longer it takes to draw/color).

Drawings, Tradition Medium (graphite, colored pencil, marker, etc)

Graphite - $10 +
Inked - $15+
Colored pencil - $20+
Marker - $25+

Web Graphics

Icons/avatars - $2/each
Web banners/Buttons - $2/each
Web site graphics layout set - (no coding) $40+
Fully coded website w/ origional graphics - $100+

Hey Guys,

I know i'm a slacker and never update here. I do come on dA daily however. I've just been distracted with different things (work, L2, figuring out my apt situation for next year, my bf comming home on leave, etc...). But now i will suddenly have more time and probably be more active on dA and with new art. I got laid off from my job yesterday :( So now I get to look for a new one, yet again >< I also have to figure out if i'm going to stay at my current apt or not by the end of the month...if i dont i can sublet in my sis's or move home...if i don't have a job by when my lease here ends i think i'll sublet my sis's and if still no job i'll have no choice but to move home. Of course I could also move to NC to be close to my bf, then when we get married we could live together...ofc until then I'm nothing to the USMC, and if he got deployed (gods forbid) I'd be all alone in a strange place with me and the cats, with my family, friends, and everything i know a thousand miles away and my bf deployed >< that would suck big time. As much as I'd love to be closer to him, so i could see him at least on the weekends, and not just once every 6mo (i'm so glad i'm seeing him now...cause now w/o a job i won't be able to go visit him anytime soon...unless i get a job soon...but i'm not getting my hopes up on that....)

So right now I need to collect myself and figure out what I"m going to do. First things first, read my serverance package and figure out when my benefits end and try to get to the dr's and dentists before they do, then sign up for vt's healthcare (BOO COBRA!!!). Then find new job, once have new job find new apt. In the mean time I'm going to be updating my site again. I'm thinking of moving hosts to the one my dad uses, its cheaper and u get more functions...i'm also thinking of getting a new domain name...but i'm not sure what I want...so if u want to vote in the poll i'm gonna make after this journal please please please do :D I'm debating foresthorsedesigns.com (or .net) or shadeddesigns.com(or .net) tho if anyone has any better names please let me know :D

I will also be taking commissinos. I'm going to be changing my commission info, so if you are interested just email me or note me or get in contact with me somehow :)

Hello everyone, I'm still here. I've been sick all week... Nothing much going on I've been too busy and/or sick to do much art related. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to take some cat pictures of the new cat my parents got. So if you have any good names for a black lady cat who is very friendly let me know and they will be suggested, as my family is terrible at picking out cat names ^^;

well only things that i only had for parts of 2007...

June 23rd - bf left for boot camp Oct. 18-30th- Family Day & Graduation @ Parris Island (18/19th) then boot leave...saw my bf for 12 days for the first time in 3 months XD Oct. 30th 7am- last time i've seen my bf irl..last kiss. I wont see him again until the end of Jan/beg. of Feb, gods willing.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
finally fixing a relationship issue w/ my bf that had been going on for years now. we fixed it just tonight actually.

9. What was your biggest failure?
failing at life i mean...well the internship i didn't get, being unemployed for 6months, being a crappy gf...should i continue?

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I was never diagnosed but i think for a good part of the last 2 years i was depressed.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
plane tickets to see my bf, and to bring him home for boot leave...and our hotel room <3

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
my bf. for becoming one of the few, the proud, a Marine. OOO-RAH!!

my own, for most of last year in regaurds to my bf and our relationship.

For xmas I got a new digi cam :) It's a kodak easy share, 7.1 megapixels...with a x12 zoom XD I cant wait to really try it out...it has tons of settings too so many more functions than my old one. i'm excited to try the snow setting, as all my snow pics always have a blue tint which i have to fix in photoshop. I've only taken afew pics with it so far...nothing good just snapshots really. but i love the zoom XD and it only takes 2 AA batteries instead of 4 like my old one, so hopefully i'll always some charged so I can always use my camera ^^

Also in the process of sketching out what I hope will be a really special piece ^^ I just want it to turn out how i see it in my head for once, and not something less than that like most things do ><

My attnetion span is just so short. I'm really too distracted to work on stuff for very long..so as a result it takes forever for me to do anything.

Currently my bf is at MOS school so he has his cell and internet access so I'm lucky enough to be able to talk to him everyday. This makes me happy and things more tolerable. heck, after 3 months and only getting 10 letters and an entire month with no contact from him this is the next best thing to him actually being home on leave XD No idea when that will be...but I won't dwell on it...

I'm trying to do more art, i'm getting back into icon making. however you won't find them here, they are all on livejournal

I may also remove a bunch of stuff from my gallery but i havent decided yet...and i'm lazy...so it will probably just stay the same :p

I will be back at some point after i'm done reevaluating my art and dealing with real life. It is settling down a bit, and should be very wel settled in november so we'll see what happens. I now have a full time permenant job,a nd am settling into life as a Marine gf.
