I'm looking at almost 2 feet of snow outside the window next to me. The cats are getting the fidgits because the snow is blocking half their view through the windows. I can't keep the bird feed table uncovered for more than 5 min. I turn around and it's under a blanket of snow. Going out on a average every 2 hours to redig the pathway for the dogs so they can find a spot to do their business. I had to go out and uncover the heat pumps before they got buried even further. Sank down on the way out there and snow was just over my knees. We're expecting another 2-4 inches tonight. I'm going to have to lead the expedition to the cars tomorrow if we can find them. I'm half tempted to wait until Monday...we lost power a few times so hopefully tomorrow will be calm.

I meant to update my journal yesterday but forgot. We had almost 4 inches of snow in VA. That heavy wet kind. The dogs were going nuts chasing snow flakes. The cats, while sitting on their warm dry widow ledges, were content watching the dogs going nuts. The snow was melting under the layers so by the time it was dark, all that stuff froze

I've been working on some backgrounds, but I'm limited/restricted to using an old copy of Adobe Elements that came with my Wacom tablet since my other pc with Adobe PS CS2 found its way into the storage shed. How, I don't know. This move has been horrible. So I can do some postwork on things but I can't use most brushes as they're for CS and up. Bummer.

Well that's all I have today. I've been tempted to start some kind of blog about tv shows/movies that I see where they reference Ohio. For some reason it seems like there is always someone from Ohio mentioned. Don't know if it's a inside joke in "Hollywood" or what. Maybe it's just me...

I should know better than to sit and watch a animal/nature show. I've told myself over the years that they're taboo for me to watch. I've self-banned myself from them. But, tonight...I found myself watching Planet Earth on Discovery channel. I watched one about trees, that was cool, awesome images and the violence was nonexsistent, even one of my cats sat in front of the tv and watched 3/4 of the show. Then came the Pole to Pole episode, thinking it would be like the other one I sat and watched it.

Everything was going great until the little baby caribou running for its life from a wolf. I really thought that little guy had it made, judgement made while I had my eyes closed then made the mistake of looking...granted if it had managed to get away it was so far from the herd it was toast no matter what...but why couldn't they have faded to black at the chase? When they said that sometimes the caribou can out run the wolf and it appeared the little guy was going for gold. Then they said until one either gives up or slips up and then the little guy just lost steam and the wolf caught him. Of course we also had to hear the sound it made too when the wolf caught it, kind of almost sounded like "mama" to me. Now I was upset.

But what started the waterworks and just down right depressing, was the little baby elephant later on. After the dust storm. They said a little one had gotten separated from the herd but was following the path, trying to catch up with the herd as fast as it could...but was going the wrong way. Then the camera pans away and this lone elephant gets small as it's going as fast as it can on desolate dry parch land away from water. I wonder how some of these nature film makers can sleep at night after catching stuff like that.

So that's it for my journal entry tonight...Take my box of tissues and going to bed...I hate nature shows...

But no, it seems I had stuff hiding everywhere and it took us 2 days to load a truck. Needed the biggest one, 26 foot! For one person! I almost broke both my legs during the move. It's not wise to stand behind a car transporter. I've got the massive bruises to prove it and I'm kind of needing to learn how to walk again.

Made the dash from Ohio to Virginia in about 9 hours. We drove on through the night and got to VA around 430am. Nice to drive in the night, not many people on the road. But makes stopping at rest stops really spooky!

My cats did very well, hardly a peep out of them. I thought I was going to have to listen to them meowing all the way. I thought about putting on some music but changed my mind, thinking that would set them off. Two of the cats got into a little spat just outside VA and I thought I was going to have to separate them. But they calmed down. One of my cats has a habit of laying on the other and the other tolerates it for a while and then lets her have it when she's getting fed up.

Well, I'm off to give my legs some rest

Well, one cat is a perfect travel cat, so she'll probably rearrange the other 2 faces if they don't shut up. Or I'm hoping they'll see her calm and relaxed and follow suit.

But tonight while browsing DA I started looking at cats and I miss my Theo still after so many years that I kind of went a little cat happy on the favorites.

I've been playing with Zbrush and that's a fun program. If you're thinking about getting it, make sure you watch the starter videos from the site. I have a few items rendered but I need to run them through PS to play with them some more. Time just keeps speeding up each and every year. Remember as a kid we were always going "I wish I was older..." now we're going "I wish time would quit flying by so fast!"

Lots of things have happened since March. I became unemployed...yah...not. My 11 year old kitchenaid crapped out on me, so I bought myself a new bigger better one. It's my birthday and I'm the big 4-0 so I'm having a mid life crisis I think. Probably the reason behind the new KA...It's dark red in color and it's a monster! Gonna be doing some serious baking with that thing!! Anyone have any 4th of July bbq recipes? I rearranged several of my rooms in my house. My computer is now housed in the same room as the tv...so I can watch tv and work on the computer and bake in the kitchen. Yeah, I'm a multi-task goddess, thank you...

I've been on World of Warcraft..working on my blood elf hunter and of course being the multi-task goddess that I am, I am also working on a new priest and rogue... Maybe I have AAD-D...

Weather has been great, we've had a few days of some bad thunderstorms, but I'll take that over days of 90 degree weather and 90% humidity! I'm hoping the weather will hold out for the fireworks. Makes it nice when it's a cool night and you're not dripping in sweat getting eaten alive by the skeeters.

OMG...they're making homemade mac and cheese on the Food channel... they're killing me!!! We've got rain now, warm enough to open the windows but I won't since it's raining and I don't want the house to get damp. Last night it hailed, almost the size of peas. We've had some really strange weather this winter. We're gonna get another 2 inches of rain tomorrow. My backyard is looking like a swamp. All this rain is probably going to mean that I'll be mowing my grass every other day come summer!!

Hallie, my little calico turned 2 today! She's precious, she still loves to play fetch and we have what I call NasCat races that's the extent of a cat running around the house as fast as they can. Pretty much the same principal as NasCar, a race to run around a big circle over and over until you run out of gas! Poor little Lacie tries to keep up but alas my littlest loves her food and well, she's a little pudgy. I think if her legs, tail and head grew to match her age, I think she'd look a little more fit, she still looks like a kitten but has the body of an adult cat. She tries her hardest to keep up, she just sounds like a mini elephant going down the hallway.

I have tomorrow off! Hopefully I can get some images done. I've cracked open my copy of Carrara and it renders superior over Poser, but the lights are super touchy, a whole new ball game to master!

Wow I can't believe that it's the end of 2007 in just a few short days! Did not seem that long that it had just turned to the year 2000. Time flies at warp speed I think.

I hope to be a little more active on this site in the new year. If only I can figure out how to post images on this site. But I'm still wandering around in awe it seems at all the areas here at DA, the place is huge!

Well, I hope those of you who read this will have a Happy New Year and hope 2008 brings us more joys than sorrows!

Just a little entry update. Hallie is a newcomer to my family, she's a sweet little calico cat who just had her 1 year birthday. Her full name is Hallie Talkalot as she's a chatter box. Her favorite game seems to be fetch and she'll keep playing until either she or my arm tires out. She has helped quite a lot in helping me deal with the loss of Theo. I still miss him and there are some things, just common day to day activity that will remind me of him and then I get teary. Hallie I adopted from a rescue group and there is another cat that I might have to adopt...if I'm not careful I'll have a cat for each room in my house...
