In order to motivate the competitors, three people have offered prizes to be awarded to the entry that bests portrays the prize's theme; any entry can win the prizes - the competitor does not necessarily have to defeat his or her opponent to win, though a win in the categories does not effect who will go on. BEST BACKGROUNDS / USE OF SETTING: All too often, OCT comics take place in sparse deserts, rocky plains, or - most embarrassingly - voids with no substance, no effect on the outcome. Your challenge is to do these things: 1. Establish a setting 2. Have the characters INTERACT with the setting (Not just standing in it - be creative) 3. Draw the setting consistently and well

The judges have read these stories over and over - we want something new, something compelling - a reason to care about the characters involved other than look how determined he is! Come up with something new and exciting!

Neat layout for the coverpage, but the colors don't mesh well and the typography needs work.

Youngerchild
Need different font on coverpage; right hand has anatomy issues. Very rough shading. Textbubbles off-center in some places. Some neat action sequences. Sometimes it's too messy to be able to tell what's going on. Page 6 has cliche dialog and is too cramped. Do not use emoticons in speech bubbles. Last page, 'wierdo' should be 'weirdo.' It was a pretty neat read.

@vampireking: i wish your actual entry would've carried the same quality like your pinup, which wasn't even really your real entry anyways.

@youngerchild: I liked your pacing up to the part where they begin fighting, which lacked any real transition as if a part was missing. The fight scene was confusing but i liked your application of brushstrokes anyways, though everything else was pretty messy, which was a factor in the loss of clarity. Pretty much everything else BUT the fight scene was well paced.

Both entries were strong - I especially enjoyed seeing Niichts challenging himself and experimenting with new techniques and styles. However, you could see him peter out towards the end of his comic, whereas Secchan's remained strong despite the lack of backgrounds. In the end, Secchan's entry left a stronger impression.

Ashleylange:Niichts

Although Secchanfan23's was more consistent and seemed like more of a complete effort, Niichts's held my attention and had more of a fight between the opponents. Secchanfan had some gorgeous artwork, but the accompanying dialog and events brought me out of the story again and again. Niichts's dialog wasn't much stronger, but it seemed to fit the zaniness he had going for him.
Niichts opted out of crits from me; I'm sending Secchan's crits in a note to her directly.

Secc: That was a fun read, but the end I found was predictable, and I was hoping there would be a bit more of a fight in the comic between Asuka and Axion. there are some anatomy issues on pages 11, 16, and 17. The other thing I see are lack of backgrounds on some of the pages.

Niichts: I seriously though there would be more in your comic. But this was pretty funny as it came towards the end. I didn't understand how Axion got from the top of a building to the ground in a flash. And in the end, where did Axion land if he was thrown off a cliff?

Both entries were entertaining overall, but in the end, I voted for Secchanfan23

@secchanfan23: page 5 seems too rushed. You could have at least extended that to 2 more pages, saving the suspense. The transition from 6 to 8 was lost in transition because of 7, i think you should have added another page between 7 and 8 showing asuka recovering and actually transforming. On that note, i think page 7 is your best page because the lack of light fits well into the theme of your battle. If you had added a lot more black, and replaced all but 1% of the white with gray, this would have been a very good battle even if you hadn't spent your time quality-wise. I think a lot of elements such as horror and darkness was lost because of the sheer white washing of your entry.

@niichts: Ah, this battle contrasts greatly with seccha's. Axion's epiphany to use his bare fists to kill asuka was humorous and fits well within the contest of your battle. After Axion actually does punch Asuka though, the battle went downhill a bit. The story became too linear and bland artwise. The use of the grenade and the random cliff at the very end was sort of a cop out in my opinion.

I think i've said this before, but your anatomy drawings have really helped your characters design wise, since now they have that foundation that makes them less abstract and more like characters. @sagalian: SAG WHERE ARE YOUR INKS. Doing everything in gray is something new and your clarity has definitely improved, but i had a hard time reading your entry, obviously because your words are the lightest things in the entire comic compared to your whites. I ended up just skimming through your entry because there wasn't enough contrast to grab my attention, nor was your words legible enough to slow me down.

This new requirement will, as a matter in fact, be a load-off. comic pages will now have a 3 page limit. That means you CANNOT exceed 3 pages. AND DO NOT TRY TO SMART-ASS YOUR WAY AROUND THIS BY STACKING PAGES OR BY ENLARGING THE SIZE OF YOUR PAGES TO WHORE PANELS. IT WILL NOT WORK. WE WILL CATCH YOU, AND DISQUALIFY YOU. No photos as backgrounds! The anatomy is lumpy and off, the perspective strange, the lines dull, scribbly and transparent and the colors don't go together. Remember, if your opponent is dark green and your background doesn't match it, you tint the green in a way that makes it friendlier with the rest of the colors. Use reference next time. I understand you ran out of time, but an uncolored pic with better line quality/anatomy will beat a sketchy colored pic without reference every time.

Awesome, your quality has improved.Some of the words are tough to read in the colored sections and I can still see the light sketchy pencil lines in places. If you used clean, proper speech bubbles, you'd earn yourself a lot of points in the future.

JongBom: @doublepensword: Your paneling is off on page 4 between what is suppose to be panel 2 and to panel 6. I ended up reading panels 3 and 4 before i realized that the panel under 1 was suppose to be the second sequence of that page. Your action lines needs to be more clean. Either clean up those action lines or don't use them at all. Overall pretty funny comic.

@jetsir: Bad panelling on page 1, i ended up reading panel 3 before panel 2. Action sequence is screwy on the 5th page. YOU DONT MAKE THE READER READ PAGES FROM LEFT TO RIGHT, THEN ON A PANEL MAKE THEM READ FROM RIGHT TO LEFT IN A ZIGZAG FASHION. BAD. That can be fixed by making the camera facing a frontal view of the characters rather than a sideview. Again, bad panelling on the 5th page, I ended up reading the 3rd panel before the second. Again bad panelling once again on the 8th page. You don't line up all the panels in a strict vertical fashion. That confuses the readers into reading the vertical panels first. Artwise, you need to vary your camera angles more from just front view, sideview, front view, side view, it seriously gets monotonous.

"This was a very interesting, and very challenging, round for me to judge. It's certainly the largest match I've ever judged, with four contestants, and an enormous slew of characters. Picking up on the history took me a little effort, but all the entries were clear enough that - by reading them all - I think I was able to catch the key points. All entries played with the 4th wall (which I've gathered is fairly common here), which took me some getting used to, but made for some interesting stories. Every entry had a lot of strengths, and I had a hard time putting any of them on top of the others. It came down to relatively subtle differences for each ranking, so I must commend each contestant on a job well done.")

PLOT: 5 : This was a decently enough written entry, but despite how long it was it also felt rushed. And while I know it's pretty hard to deal with so many characters at once, more emphasis should have been put on the big epic battle, this entry was supposed to be a battle between the four finalists and their armies, not Pest and Martel. The relationship between Johnai and Pest was nice though.
FLOW: 5 : Quite jerky writing. Every time it looked like the big action scene was going to start, we'd get a few panels, then it would degenerate to a stretched dialogue. Even the end section where the Pests were attacking everyone stops suddenly and everyone's okay. Speech is a little un-natural, but not enough to make it annoying to read. Speech bubble placement, for the most, part were almost perfect. Action scenes are confusing sometimes due to static poses.
QUALITY: 6 : Spelling mistake on Page 14 is bad. It's the only one I caught, but there shouldn't have been any. There was a pretty severe drop in quality from what I was expecting from you, but the entry does manage to still chug on regardless. Lack of backdrops this late into the competition was disappointing, especially the clearly rushed final pages. The fire was downright terrible. The only way I was able to tell it was fire was because you explicitly tell the reader what it is. Some characters looked far too similar, but not being familar with drawing most of them, that's a little excusable.

**3: SPECIAL RULE:

SSBFreak: Strange layout for coverpage; red square gradient is unsophisticated. Dialogue stale and uninteresting; colors are too bright (again) and repetitive. Font improved. Fight, though over 4 pages, seemed short. Made more sense than Yin's.
Yin-Yangshadowdragon: Confusing sequence with the eye and 'bullet'(?), beginning unclear ANOTHER your/you're mistake. Lame shark was funny. Olig's completely out of character. Haft/have spelling error. You *really* need to spell/grammar check your pages before you post them - this is the 5th round and this mistake is never fixed. Oprah hungry was hilarious.

FLOW: 5 : Movement is very stiff, mainly Delilah's punches and bullets. Delilah's dialouge is a little clunky too.
QUALITY: 6 : I'm going to give up pointing out the lack of mouth variety now... Text is nice and clear. Backgrounds are a little plain, but they are there. Olig's behive cage looks sweet.

QUALITY: 7 : Quite a polished entry. Olig looked great, and the only real problem was the lack of interesting camera angles and perspective.

Ashley I like how the plot is progressing, but the constant flat color backgrounds annoy me; try to add more to them to jazz them up. Also, the fight feels very last-minute and tacked on; I still want more wide shots with more than 2 characters in one panel - at times it's hard to remember who's all in the same scene.

PLOT: 5 : While one of the strong points of your entries has been the amount of story content, this round is over saturated by it. The fight is far too short compared to the comic length.
FLOW: 6 : Some panels make it hard to see what's happeneing. Paneling is good and the speech bubbles are almost perfect.
QUALITY: 8 : Very high quality throughout. The font is a bit jarring, but the colours and content of the panels is great.

Alright let's get this over with, you rejects should all know the drill by now. It's redemption time, and the boss this time around is none other than the Master of Negativity Kura-x! All of you should prepare for the hardest Redemption boss you'll ever face. I present to you...


THE RULE BREAKER CHALLENGE


You have exactly three pages to break as many of the rules listed below. Whoever breaks the most rules wins. So get to it!

- Your entry must take place in the OCBC Arena
- Your entry must show your character defeating the boss
- Your entry must be be drawn with traditional media
- Your entry must be colored
- Your entry must be inked
- Your entry must not have any spelling mistakes
- Your entry must in English
- Your entry cannot be a 4-koma
- Your entry is required to have dialogue
- Your entry must not have any backgrounds
- Your entry must feature three or less characters in every panel throughout the comic

Tenpouin: First word misspelled. Pages with just text are boring. Simple fonts not suitable for comics. Pencil lines are too light. Character drawing skill is improving. Overcoming her brother’s expectations was great. Good build-up to an unfinished ending. I was curious as to how it would end.

Coverpage could use better composition. Unnecessary comma on page two (there, anyway). Bright green grass is too bright. Panels are improving, but there are a lot of repetitive shots from one panel to the next. Action lines are very messy and don’t convey their purpose. Saftey dance is hilarious. Kira’s line about not being able to stop would take too long to say in a short space of time. It’s been interesting to see Olig’s character progress during the tourney.

Plot: 3 : Plot had potential, but it's uncomplete. Substantial intro was nice, though Olig's appearence is pretty cheap.
Flow: 4 :I had very little idea of what was going on half the time, and the dialogue is very clunky.
Quality: 3 : Very messy looking. Obviously rushed and unfinished.

Plot: 4 : Quite abrupt finale, and the victory is very hollow.
Flow: 4 : A problem you haven't ironed out in any of your entires is the complete lack of flow between scenes and panels. I even thought there was a page missing between 3 and 4.
Quality: 5 : You still need more kinds of mouths. Proportion fluctuates wildly and the lines are very shakey. Font doesn't match the art style at all. Vibrancy of pages is great though.

Quality: 6 : Your lines are almost perfect...they're just a little uneven in places. The penciling also detracts from the ink quality.

Redemption Round Three Rules:

- Entrance is limited to those who lost/forfeited in round III only.

Your Boss: Samurai Haruko:

Your Setting will revolved around a Castle. You do not need to draw the Castle itself, but make it known to your readers that it is a Castle.

Some details about the Castle is that is not any ordinary Castle. You have entered the unknown realm. This Castle consists of many spinning doors. These doors open on both sides. The right, you'll appear upside down and never fall and the left will make you appear sideways. There will be many corridors. Each will still lead you to the same place, to the throne. Beware of following mirrors.

There will be guards, Mail-sheep, and Loli Servants. The guards are Spiders that web rainbows, simply named as Spidows. The Mail-Sheep are self explanatory. The Loli Servants only obey Haruko and pay no attention to what other visitors say, but they will not refrain from attacking.


And remember, violence isn't always the answer. Mind Your Manners and have some fun.

Plot: 6 : Pretty unintersting set up, but at least there was an an intro. Conclusion and brawl was far too abrupt.
Flow: 4 : Dialouge is very artificial. Pointing out that she talks to herself a lot does not excuse it. Combat was very confusing due to clunky panel layout... I still don't know what happened to the hot sauce.
Quality: 7 : Colour is nice, and consitant backdrops are great. Characters very stiff, absoloutly no sense of movement.

Plot: 4 : Great build, I was actually quite interested in how it was going to turn out... then it ended. There was no fight.
Flow: 7 : Some panels are slightly confusingly laid out. Doesn't effect the reading too much, but it's still there. Dialouge is drawn out, but works well.
Quality: 7 : Expressions are brilliant. Very messy black fills as well as some lumpy inks. Text improperly placed in some speech bubbles.

Jesus, i loved your entry, especially the plot. Nice twist involving BIATCH and LMAO. But you have to work on some anatomy and some of your things have really random shadows. You need to do some life drawings. Flame, you entry was good, but you need to start using less gray and more black and white. Up the contrast. Also some of the shots can be varied. you have a lot of close of up Xia near the same distance. Have less repetitive shapes.

Plot: 6 : Nice to see a big emotional death scene... but the whole thing feels a little dead. (No pun intended) Xia seems out of character.
Flow: 6 : Wall of text is BAD; could have been summed up a lot better in a comic page. Final few pages are very clunky.
Quality: 6 : The font for those controlling the darkness is nigh unreadable. Text bubbles don't mesh with painted art style. Inconsistant art; some panels look amazing (Xia's light blast... wow), while others are very sloppy.

Redemption Round 2 Introduction


Redemption Round Two Rules:

~ Entrance is limited to those who lost/forfeited in round II only.

~ Those who enter will be split into two teams. The idea is to show your OC and the team he or she's assigned to defeating the other team WITHOUT physical / magical combat. Think sports, board games, any kind of competition that doesn't involve fighting - contests like arm wrestling are allowed, if you can make them interesting enough.

~ Also, you must show your team leader in the comic - either Niichts or Ashley, depending which team you're on. Please note AshleyLange if you have any questions.

~ The number allowed in depends on those who enter.
~ Emphasis will be on creativity and plot over artistry.

OurosborosI: Try to keep the word bubbles away from the margins. The panels and the action were a lot easier to understand this time around, though some of the words are smushed together, making it hard to read. The cats were a cute touch, but after the speech drops off it becomes difficult to follow. You could also clean your scans a little better.
Secchanfan23: Lots of great stuff here – an introduction of both characters, great backgrounds, paneling, and the characters and text (especially the sound effects) look awesome. This could be personal preference, but the dialogue during the fight is a bit cliché – “Too slow” “Think so?” “Give it up”, etc. Nice defeat. You’ll be tough to beat if you keep this up.
Fireoz: Winner: Secchanfan23. It's too bad you couldn't finish, Ouroburos, I was looking forward to reading the rest of the comic. I think you have improved greatly and hope that you keep on doing so.

Ashleylange: Tenpouin: The panels are a bit crammed and repetitive; try using a wider size next time. The action gets very hard to follow near the end (the area with the random marble; I can’t tell who has it and why) though I like the fight set-up and the ending. Keep practicing drawing figures; I can tell drawing long matches like these are paying off already.
Fireoz: Excellent job, keep on working.

79: vs. 11: WINNER: DOUBLEPENSWORD 2-1
Ashleylange: MY VOTE: Youngerchild
Doublepensword: Panels are too close together and are not varied as much as they could be; nice hand-lettering. Crimson’s anatomy is wacky; the lines on her neck make her look like an alien. Action is difficult to follow in some places; especially page four. Crimson’s dialogue is repetitive and cliché. “I don’t need breath to kill you; I don’t need eyes to kill you.” I liked the last panel with the fading butterfly but the takedown looks like he just bashed her over the head repeatedly; the takedown could be more inventive and was just like your first round’s defeat (i.e., Zipper overpowered his opponent). Also, Crimson didn’t do any moves besides swirling her butterflies around. If you advance to the next round, I suggest you leave the arena behind and add some other elements to your story.

Ashley: Winner: Secchanfan23. Not much to say critically about this; it was very enjoyable! Unique plot, characters, great panels and action, with actual backgrounds and totally complete. Great job! My only suggestion is to make a white margin around the outside of the page to center the panels better and make them look crisper.
Hightech-Squeegee:
Your entry was very small; I had to squint to read it. The panels were in a strange placement; sometimes it was hard to tell which one was next. Your opponent strangely seemed to lose her clothes in a few panels and there were few backgrounds and low finish. Also, please avoid using comic sans.
Fireoz: Both entries were good, but Secchanfan gets the vote for a more complete and better-presented entry.

26: vs. 06: WINNER: BLINDDRAGON 3-1
Ashley:Blinddragon: Your entry got better and better as it went along; I loved how you tapped into Susie’s insecurities and the cold logic of your strange character dominating Susie’s faith in humanity. The colors and markers look fantastic; you were both evenly matched in the sense of dedication and attention to detail. The thing that really killed your comic for me was Susie’s self-monologue while she fought, describing her every plan, lamenting when her plan failed and exclaiming when she was surprised and exactly what surprised her – we didn’t need to read all of this; it could be shown with shots of her face, or sensed in the franticness of her actions. I think if the introduction was more silent with a lead-in to the conversation between the two and between Susie and Strider the piece would be much more powerful. Great work!
Danielcherng:
You really took the lessons you learned from the last round to heart – everything looks clean, crisp, understandable and barely different than anything I could pick off the shelf at a comic book store. You still have your dan-isms however: there are strange shots of Susie’s face where her expression doesn’t match the action – particularly on the top of the last page where she – in a very amusing way – screams NOOOOOO – it looks like she’s having sex. Great job on the spaceships, the tones, line-handling, everything. If you pass this round you’ll be very tough to beat in this tourney.
Fireoz: Tentacles aside (lol), I felt that blinddragon's entry held more substance. Good job both of you.

33: vs. 77: WINNER: KUNNAI 3-2
Ryuuen: Though Kunnai's work is cleaner, clear in art and longer-- Tai's entry was more straight to the point, and having a good pace for a battle comic. Kun's comic was just too slow and static that it actually becomes a boring read after a few pages.
Ashley: Winner: Kunnai
Kunnai: This is a very cool looking entry with nice clean lines, straight edged panels and no smudges or smears. Add some more background details, and the comic would have a more ‘complete’ feel. The story’s neat, compact, though predictable – your contestant wins on his own power. This is often a side-effect of the ‘arena’ match, though there was a bit of suspense when Rei was flung into the air. There was a strange quirk with your dialogue, especially when Tai says “It would be easy, huh” and “Heh, thought if you’d disarmed me”. These grammatically make no sense to me. Sometimes it is difficult to tell which opponent is being featured in a given panel; they both look rather similar, and in the beginning it is not made clear which is which. Another dialogue note: When Rei is flung into the air he says some strange things like “He really sent me airborne” (with a spelling error) which was unnecessary to say since it is obvious that he’s up in the air and it’s unnatural to narrate one’s own action. He also starts forming a fireball and then says that he doesn’t know what to do, which is odd because he already started forming the fireball – he obviously knows that he’s going to throw it at Tai.
Overall, nice work, good fight, watch the spelling errors (I’d also suggest a different font, though yours wasn’t that distracting) and watch the clarity as far as who is saying what.
Tai0Purto:
I like your introduction, establishing a barren setting before the characters are blown onto the scene; still, I would have liked to see Rei flying through the wall instead of just landing afterward. The lines have a strange muddiness which isn’t altogether unpleasant, though could look better if cleaner. The main issue I have with this entry is the word bubbles. The fonts change for no discernable reason, the words touch the sides of the word bubbles making them hard to read, and there were several typos; it could help to have a friend read the comic over before you submit next time. The text in them is left justified; it should be centered to give them balance. As in Kunnai’s entry, the characters are not named, making it difficult to tell who’s whom. The fireball Rei fires should be preceded by a shot of him charging up, which would let the reader know he has firepower and would create suspense for the blast. The victory, with firing the shotgun over the shoulder looks cool – though on a note, I’ve fired a shotgun and from personal experience he’d probably knock himself out from the recoil – however since this is a fantasy comic, it’s easy to let this go.

The answer is no, there is no specific place. The storylines of your comic do not even need to mention that the OCBC is a real tournament. You can do anything you like, creative freedom is in your hands, as long as you are putting your OC and your opponent together, interacting.

It's been unofficially decided that OCBC3 will start some time in May. As such, the collection of judge applications is now plentiful enough and will be reviewed and new judges will be selected.

Icon contest
Frankly, we need a new icon. It's no secret. So if you've got some inspiration, make one up for the account!
Guidelines:
-the icon must clearly display the community name "OCBC" somehow.
-the image must be 50x50 pixel .gif file. (there is a filesize restriction on dA icons, and most of the time .gif is the way to go.)
-it can be animated or still.
-upload your contest entry to your dA account and send a note titled "Icon Contest" to *OCBC with the link or thumbnail.
-the winner will be voted for by your fellow contestants, and the winning entry will be used as the OCBC account icon! because of that, try to put some extra love into it!

DanielCherng: You're entry was ok. The story was really confusing. That's the main thing that got me. The art didn't help out at all. Sorry, but you need to work on how you render things.
Kura-x: Just because you dont like my criteria for judging, doesn't mean I'm wrong. Once again your panels were spaced out too far leaving large empty spaces of black. You once again drew a sideshow of panels stacked on top of each other (except for two instances) only this time, they swerve off center for no reason at all. USE THE ENTIRE PAGE. Don't leave those blank spaces unfilled. I'm under the impression that you draw all your panels one by one, then cut and paste them together instead of plotting out an actual page thumbnail or something.
Fireoz: YOU DID AWESOME. You have a great sense of story, and it's totally apparent that you do your best to improve yourself! Just keep drawing, (and maybe get a better program >3>, I expect to see you in OCBC3!! YOU ROCK.


DanielCherng: Great arts but not as great story telling. Your entry ended quite abruptly which made me ask: "is that it?" You should have made it a little long. My advice, discipline. Talent without discipline is worthless.
Kura-x:Even if i have no idea who any of your characters are, you show some skill at storytelling when you can get a reader to understand what is happening in the instance of the fight with only one page of flashback. Your lack of backgrounds is unsettling, and so are those ugly colored word bubbles... and i am not a fan of those huge white empty spaces with nothing but yelling in them. But your art is clean and your action and story is easy to follow.


DanielCherng:Although the art wasn't the greatest. At least the story was somewhat meaningful and didn't end too abruptly. Your storyline made up for other things. your actions scenes were decent, you just need to work on a little more transitions.

Viperxvii- Very good on getting an editing program things don't look so rough.
Though a little rough in area's on flow of the storyline it wasn't too hard to see the story where it was intended to go. And quality still needs work but that will come with time.
white-rabbitgirl- It looked rather rushed but some thought went into the storyline maybe better if completed. I was confused at parts as to what was going on perhaps emphaise on certain things my help that. And it could go for alot more cleanliness.

The quality on the first page gave me a bad impression. You know how good impressions are always important? Well this is how I felt with you entry. I appreciate that you did try on the next few pages, but it made me disappointed because I could not read most of it. Good Job for trying.


First off, I think you should of continued doing the rest. I am also disappointed that it was only one page and it made me want to read more, except there weren't any pages. Also, the date on you entry was few days later from the deadline. For this, you do not get my vote.


Your entry was one of my picks, but sense I can only choose one entry this go around...soooooo there were some good parts and some bad. The good, is that it was colorful. I enjoyed the atmosphere, even though you were lazy on doing your own backgrounds, but you at least did it. It was also clean. But, yes here the bad part... some parts were stiff and you might need to work on the text-bubble order. This entry was also late and it was mostly Airin fighting Yumiko.


To get to the point, without rambling, I'm glad you did so much, and kept the quality up, but I think you failed on a very important part - researching the Boss character. Even though your entry was clean, you still had that issue with Ryuuen's 'Harem'. It is important that you research, or ask about things you are not certain and not make things up. Also it was very fast pace, to the point, which is important, but I did not like the paneling, it was boring and there were some points that I did not understand that well. But thank you for having your entry on time.

Oh dear, oh mai. Here's the big one. Just like ryuuen, I watched this several times, even though I do not know much about flash, I focused on the presentation and the outcome of all the voices and sounds. There were some voices that were at different volumes, so it was pretty hard to hear most of the characters, especially when it came to the part of Jong, the music overpowered the voice making it hard to understand what was being said. Around this point, the animation started to speed up, and the sounds started to do the mash potatoe dance. But this entry was a well done effort, it was also funny, and on time.


I liked your entry, but it was late. I don't want to disqualify you, but hey...deadlines are deadlines (same to everyone else). The overall art was nice but I think you should work on paneling, sometimes rectangles and squares don't cut it and can also affect what is going on in an entry.

For starters, I was first compelled by both entries' cleaniness and picture quality. As Viper's entry having pixelated lines, it wasn't really that pleasing to the eyes. As for Manda, the scan quality being unrefined and being posted as it is a turn off as well. As for completion, Manda didn't really finished her work. While reading the stories, I'm quite amused with the plot Viper used and it was much understandable than what Manda was able to submit. In the end, Viper wins due to a more interesting and understandable comic. Though, I do advice to both of you to study more about drawing figures, proportions and anatomy . And also, please fix your scanner setting when scanning and clean it up afterwards. (Regarding this, I have to know what program you have to help you with this, feel free no note me anytime for tips.). Manda, use a ruler when doing panels.

I'm giving this to Haruko because I know ~rawrU-N fails coz she just doodled her work for 15 minutes -- and that she didn't really put any effort on it. No, effort at all. I love your work Haruko. Really clean, and hilarious. Specially the Monique twirl. xD but there are a lot of colour bleeds that you for got to erase for the shading. Please take note of those. Haruko also has a clearer ending than rawr's.

Ugh, BAD SCAN QUALITY! BAD! You guys could have at least brighten the pages slightly and erased the remaining unwanted dots and lines digitally, specially MostAcidic. Your pages are almost darkened by the pencil lines, I can even see the other forms that isn't supposed to be in the page (or the next or the other pages at is either drawn over that page or behind the actual page when you scanned it). Though MostAcidic's comic is more full of action scenes, I didn't really understand what happened in the end. Secchan's entry is more clearer, for me, and more easier to under stand, plus it is much cleaner. To SecchanFan, you need to work on your anatomy and proportions, and action scenes. Napalm's entry gave me goosebumps after and during the time I'm watching it. Though, it was too dark at most times that I', having troubles seeing what is happening in the animation, but that was just a few scenes. However… Like I said in Ashley's judging, no matter how much you hate drawing hands, please refrain for drawing them on the back or front of the character just to hide and a void drawing them. And also avoid drawing circles for hands. You also need work on you’re anatomy a bit, but everything else is fine. You forgot some fill ins when Verc got stabbed and closed his eyes, you may want to take note of that.
As for Wanderer, good work on submitting an entry, however, I don't really get what is happening in your comic. I do get that they are fighting each other, other than that, nothing else. There is little continuity to your comic, thus it is hard to grasp what is going on. Also, you need to work on action poses/scenes for I feel no action in them at all and that they seem stagnant. Also in drawing hands and perspective. Try experimenting on using different types of paneling other that boxes and rectangles. They can get boring in the long run.
