We just had our first meet last week.
I ran the 1600 meters and got 6:26.7 and the 800 meters and got 2:53.5. Oh, yay.
My legs got all frozen on the last 100 of the 800 because it was cold and I didn't have sweatpants but other than that it went well.

The camera is a canon eos 40d. It came with a 28-135 mm lens.
The new camera didn't include the cf card it wanted to store pictures on so we had to order it and it finally came today and now I can take pictures with it.
It is pretty good. It's hard to say how good because I haven't done much with it yet. All I've done is some blurry pictures of Christmas lights because it is nighttime and I don't have a tripod yet. Still, it's a million times better than the point and shoot one I got last year.

I forgot to charge my camera the night before, so it died after only a little use. I then used my mom's, but she hadn't charged her's recently either, so that died too.
I spent most of my free time reading the book that I needed to write and essay on before school started. It was A Tale of Two cities. The second half of it was pretty good. The first half had too many words.

School started. I got into all the classes I wanted plus one I had wanted to take at one point but hadn't been planning to. And, amazingly enough, I finished all of my essays on time. I wrote most of the English ones the night before and finished the analysis parts in the morning. AP Euro was on an even day, so I had one more day to procrastinate on the essays, both of which had to be at least three single-spaced pages. I worked on it from sometime in the evening to two-something in the morning. I went to sleep until 5:30 and finished it in time to get to school before seven. I only hope that this will help learn to stop procrastinating on things. I never want to go through something like that again. I was so tired the next day, I forgot my running shorts and water so during PE, I had to run four miles in my jeans with no water except the locker room water which tastes weird.

This year is going to be hard. It has some difficult classes. I am in Algebra 2 honors, Contemporary Media (the one I wanted to take but didn't sign up for last year), European History AP, English 2 honors, Computer Science AP, French 3, and cross country sports PE. I'm going to be really busy, especially with Euro and English. And I'm actually going to try to do my math homework this year.

It's at a different place this time. Last year was this really cool camp in the mountains. It had a lake and no cabins. We slept in tents. It was cool. Unfortunately, it was like five hours away, so we can't do it every year.
Ahhh, my subscription is almost gone! It was a nice introduction to cssing, which I think is a lot of fun. There seems to be a program on the computer that lets you make a web page that doesn't actually go on the internet, so I can do it more on that.

Hi, I'm back from Utah. It was fun and the scenery was pretty.
I mostly visited relatives. I also went hiking at Sundance and went to Raging Waters (a water park).
My uncle decided it would be a waste to just dig up a tree stump in my grandparent's yard, so he used it to grow a fungus garden. And I saw that new Batman movie. It was awesome.

1.When I get bored, I start graphing equations for fun. I'll just be sitting around and I'll wonder, what does y=2^x look like?

2.I like Dungeons and dragons, although so far I've only gone very far in one game of it so far. My brother will come up with one plot, play with me a bit, we'll not get time to play for a long time, forget about the last game, and start a new game because he came up with a better plot.

3.I run cross country.

4.I like science a lot. I spent most of my time as a younger kid reading about animals, astronomy, chemistry, and plants. I didn't really get into physics until seventh grade when I read A Brief History of Time.

5.The only TV I think we've ever owned is the one we have now that is only used for my brother's video game consoles and watching movies. The only time I ever watch actual TV is on vacations or at other people's houses. The only things I find worth watching on it anyway is Spongebob and some things animal planet things, so I don't think I'm missing too much by not having one.

6.I used to take gymnastics. I quit in seventh grade. My flexibility is gone, but I can still do some things.

7.I don't like vanilla ice cream. At some point, I didn't like any ice cream, but then I statred liking strawberry, chocolate, phish food, and maybe some others I can't think of.

8.I used to have hamsters. They both died. The first one died from old age and the second one died the day after leaping onto the hard wood floor.

Aaaah, it's only until August 11! But at least I have it.
I didn't read the note about going to AX and getting a subscription all the through at first. I didn't know it had happened until I looked at where it normally said no subscription and all of a sudden it said subscribed. It took awhile to figure out how I got it.
Yay, there's a picture in the background now!
When I do the full view of the journal in the preview thingy, I keep getting another picture of the chipmunk. I'm not sure if it will do that on the actual journal, but if it does, how do I make the background image only happen once?

I took the bio AP test. That means I spent weeks worrying and trying to study while not doing my math homework that I have a test on next class in order to try to absorb all the information except that which was actually on the test. I spent six hours studying with my friend about something that only briefly appeared while over half of the essay part was about things that I only looked over for a few minutes the night before the test. I had to use educated guesses to make up most of the information on the the essay. Hopefully I did decently on that part. I think I did pretty well on the multiple choice part; there were only a few times where there were problems about things I'm pretty sure I've never heard of in my life.

But now it's over. I only have to worry about my very soon upcoming math test, the SAT subject test for biology, the STAR tests, and, in a month or so, finals. This year, anyway. I'm hopefully taking two AP classes next year. Aaaaaaah, more AP tests!

I'm way behind on faving people's stuff. Sometimes I just go to their page and fav from there. It's faster than trying to plow through everything. And then I find more people who do cool art and watch them when I can't keep up with the people I'm already watching. I was hoping for lots of faving time during spring break, but with all the work I have, that may not happen.

Bert, my pumpkin, has gotten really tall and has over eight leaves. I should probably plant him outside, but I haven't found a good spot.

Photography through binoculars works pretty well, especially really bright objects (such as the near full moon). Unfortunately, as I only have one tripod for both the camera and the binoculars, I can only photograph really bright objects that the camera has little exposure time for. I wanted to get something cool like the orion nebula, but it would be all blurred. Hopefully, I'll work out a way to do that.

I like learning languages. I'm in French 2 and have been trying to teach myself Japanese and Latin, but I don't have much time for it, so I haven't gotten very far.
I play the piano a lot. I started at the end of last June, and I'm working on Waterfall and Turkish Rondo right now.
I like to wear a hat that looks like a head-crab.
I don't like eggs, bacon, breakfast sausages, bananas, or kiwis.
I was the only girl bridge club member at my school during the first semester this year. Despite all that time in the club, I still don't really know how to bid.
The only non-disposable camera I ever had besides the digital one was a film camera my parents bought for me many years ago. I really liked it, but I managed to lose it in a couple weeks.
I really, really liked opossums during sixth grade. This was due to my friends who spread their obsession with these animals to me when I became friends with them.

Which means that I'm really behind on favoriting things of the people I'm watching. I think I'm watching something like over two hundred people, and the photographers and fractalers tend to submit a lot of things. So my deviantwatch thingy is full of things from days or weeks ago that I never got around to looking at. I try to start going through them, but I don't have enough patience to sit there and fav. Especially because my computer is slow sometimes. And I haven't been thanking for favs or reading most journals. I need a day with no homework or anything else and just go through everything. So if you favorited stuff, thanks for faving.
I still have to write and revise a rough draft of a five paragraph character essay with two quotes to be analysed per body paragraph. So I have to find six quotes. Not fun. The book was kind of interesting, though. It was about crazy people. It's called One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest.
I think seagulls have something against me. When I bring my camera, they stay away and make it hard to get a good picture. When I forget my camera, they fly around me and eat food fifteen feet away from where I eat lunch and let me get maybe five feet away form them before flying away. It's not just that, when I do bring my camera to school, they wait for me to put it away before they'll fly right above me. Almoost like they're saying, haha, you can't get my picture.

So if you turn on the microscope and look through it, you get to see the things that are transparent on whatever you're looking at for the most part. But, as I found out today, if you take a flashlight and shine it either through the bottom at an angle (I did this first, but the flashlight kept slipping and falling over) or from the side and somewhat from above (It slipped on this, too, but I taped it to the pile of boxes I had supporting it, and it works really well), then you can see all the opaques stuff, the color is better, and the shiny parts of what you're looking at look shiny. It is so awesome. I can see things that previously looked like a patch of darkness due to their opacity. Things I could see before (like bugs) now have more detail.
Mom put a password on the computer, so the computer doesn't go on until the work is done. So no more deviantart for hours every day, but my homework is actually getting done now, so maybe it's a good thing. The computer is insanely slow and the internet is insanely slow.

Ants and this little tiny millipede I found worked really well. It looks a lot better in real life than on the camera, but it still looks cool on the camera.
I can't think of much else to put under there right now, if there's something you really want to see magnified, tell me and I will see if I can get a good picture of it.
I still have to put ant pictures up. They look a lot better in real life, though, so if you have a microscope, try it! Although the ants we get around here are really small, so the normal sized ants may or may not work. I don't know.
The millipede was really cute when it was rolled up and I saw a side view of its face. Unfortunately, it wouldn't stay still, so it was hard to get good pictures of it.

I went to Graphaids and got another sketchbook and I also wanted to get one of those colorless blender things, but they were out of them. They had some sort of blender form a different company, so I just got that.

I need to practice drawing Renault([link]) more. Three pairs of legs is really difficult to draw! The middle ones always get squooshed between the other two, but I'm getting better at that. The other problem is that regular quadrupeds are fairly easy to put in poses or draw running, jumping, etc., but I don't really know where to put the middle pair of legs. Oh, well. I came up with how it runs, so I can probably draw Renault running in case he ever gets tired of just standing there. I'm not sure about walking, though. Or jumping. I'll figure something out.

I also got my colored pencils bought. I haven't had much time to use them yet, but they work a lot better than anything I already had.

Now that I have less homework, I went on the internet and got that cool Apophysis thing. I have no idea what the heck I'm doing; so far I'm just clicking things to see what happens.

I'm also getting a camera. I wanted one for my birthday, but Mom put it off and we were still looking for a good one, so Mom said I could get colored pencils for my birthday. I have yet to obtain those.

I played it a lot one day, and it killed my hand around where the pinky is. But it sounds really cool!

I tried to put this Cthulhu gif on deviantArt, but I couldn't find any category that fit it, so it's is stuck in my scraps for now. If you have any idea as to which category to put it in, please let me know.

I still haven't gotten a tablet. Mom says we may get one for the family for Christmas. I drew this picture of a dragon that is furry and stripy like a tiger, but more gold color. It also has golden antlers and horns combined and wings made of peacock feathers. I want to color it, but I have to do it on the computer because my printer scanner only scans black and white. It only prints black and white, too. It's so annoying! Then again, I've heard that color scanners don't seem to make the scanned version look as good the original, and besides, the only things I have to color is Crayola colored pencils, with no yellow. I also don't really know how to color a picture without making it look funny, although I faved a colored pencil tutorial, so when I get a decent set of colored pencils, I hope it will help.

He's coming up Tuesday of Wednesday, so I'll get it then. He said he'd get me The Eraser, but I thinks he's getting me something else. He won't tell me what it is. I've asked Mom for a camera and one of those tablet things so my computer drawing will be better. I'm not that bad with the mouse, but I'd do a lot better with a tablet.
