Gears of War 2 and Rainbow Six Vegas, along with new clothes, and a cool t-shirt of a guitar with Nirvana written on the bridge.

So yes, my christmas was fantastic. However, I believe there is a much greater tale:
On the evening of the 24th of December, 1914, noises were heard across No Mans Land towards the German Line. In the British Listening Posts and saps, they heard the distant hum of silent night, retorted by British soldiers.
The following day, men wearing Picklehelm helments emerged from the german trench, carrying a traditional christmas pine, decorated with cheap candles.
Both armies helped bury dead on no-mans land, before the participation of shaking of hands and trading of photographs. Ofcourse, the legendary story is of the football, that was brought into no-mans land, and kicked about.

The following day, British High Command, not currently intimidated by Haigh, set about motivating the troops to kill the people they had just met.

On the 27th, a Non-Commisioned Officer pulled out his pistol, and shot one German in the neck.

The war raged for 3 more years, with no such armistice ever happening again.
In the most horrible of conditions, it is still possible for humanity to shine through. Decency. If I have one New Year's Resolution, it would be to BE that humanity shown by the Lad's of the 408th Army along the lines.

I picked up MANY helpful hints from DA users and my Uncle Jim, a professional photographer, who visited the famous Andy Rouse's seminar, to learn about his wildlife. And so, I thank him very much for everything he's teaching me and the wonderful motivation. In addition, all those people who have favourited any picture taken with the 6900. Ive just started to take photography seriously and I am incredibly grateful for every comment, advice, pageview and favourite.

So, macros! They are my new challenge.
After some constructive critisism on my macro for 'My Materialising Baubel', I have decided to set myself a SMALL macro challenge. Im going to take '10 Outdoor Macros' to test my skills, varying from flowers, plants, items, even Part-Lanscapes. I will look forward to getting back into the field and taking shots. My main areas of target will probably be: my nan's garden and house, my Aunty Jo's household, The Railway Pass in wyke, and perhaps in and around the middle of Huddersfield. So Yah! Look Out!

My life? Erm, I am in the middle of my GCSE Mocks, with 5 more exams to go! Rather peeved that no study leave has been assigned for us, but there we go. I hope to enjoy a great christmas and a happy new yeeeearr!

It was life changing in all.
The Menin Gate Last-Post ceremony was incredibly touching and emotional for me.
I got to stand in a private section, and Murray, the tour guide, took a shine to me and let me meet the Belgian Buglers.
Absolutely Amazing Time.
Like I said, this experience has changed my life, and inspired me alot.

Thankyou to all the teachers who organised the trip, the NST, Novotel, Chateu Ellingbinton, and ofcourse, Murray McVey, Commandant of WW1 France.

So we live in a bubble. Ok, we all have problems, from depression to hate, to jealously and to sadness.

But think, just for one single second a day, as I found recently.
Theres a hell of a lot more people in a worse situation.

Usually, well, in the past holidays, I always learn a vaulble lesson that stays with me. This holiday-

Nothing.

I dont know if its the lack that I receive lately, or me shutting myself off.

What I do know is that somethings arn't worth fighting for. And one of them being relationships.

So, if you put it that way, my laziness and contemplation led me to think.

People are starving all over the world, children being beaten in their own homes, scientists working on cures that will change the world.

And heres me, complaining about my own, insignificant problems.

I think we can ALL relate to this.
