Darn, does that sound like the newest Mcdonald's kids meal or what? XP Totally unintentional. But anyway, for some reason there was an owl at my school today and he was just chillin' and watching us all. So I named him Hooty McFlappin'. Spiffy, huh?

Anywayz, totally irrelevant. Basically, I have the attention span of a flea. This is finals week. Big, scary finals week, and I'll be darned if I've studied more than two hours. The reason? I am shopping for a bjd. XP

I really wish I could just stick with one interest and let that be that, but all of a sudden I've just fallen head over heals with them and now I MUST have one. Ideally, I'd really like this guy: [link] but that's obviously unrealistic. As if I have six hundred dollars to spare. So what I'm thinking I'll buy in a week or two is this little guy: [link] He's so adorable. I already have name choices. ^^

Umm, so yeah, basically I went on an art high and then I saw dolls and went totally off on this tangent. Ahaha...ha... Yeah.

Well, it's January already and Goddamnit, finals is in a couple of weeks. I really need to do well on those... >.>

Anyway, here's what's been happening with me: Last weekend I went to Anime LA and had a splendid time! I didn't cosplay as anyone, but I was dressed in lolita. I got to meet new friends and hang out with some old friends. All in all, a great time. Pics can be found here~ [link]

This weekend has been fun too. I spent most of Friday afternoon coloring. XD The copic markers just grabbed me away from life and made me color Dragon Knights images. XD Will be posting soon, probably. Look forward to it.

Yesterday was Japanese School and then I went to a Japanese used book/CD store, got some Koda Kumi CDs for an excellent price and later went out for Ramen for dinner.

We also went to Target and bought a really cheap chess set and mancala game. Opening it up was hilarious. I was cracking up and my dad was mad because it was such poor quality. And the mancala game had a picture of the board with the colored glass stones on the front and it even said, "includes 48 colorful gemstone pieces" but when we opened it up, it was a bag of rocks! XD No joke, a bag of brown and grey rocks. XDDD My dad wanted to go back and demand a refund, but it only cost five bucks anyway and I thought it was kinda worth it for the laugh.

I have to start on my homework and study for SATs, not to mention this Saturday I'm going to a Lolita meetup and the weedend after is Anime LA and THAT will certainly be exciting. I can't wait! But first I have to do my homework. Ugh...

So I've basically been lazing around in my lolita outfit all day, listening to my new CDs, and reading the fourth issue of the G&L Bible. And I made a hat! ^^ It's kind of a poor attempt, but I guess it's not bad... Could be worse, considering it's my first try.

And holy shiznit it just started raining really hard outside. I have to go watch it now. XD

Rules:
1. Post the rules
2. Answer each question truthfully
3. Tag 3-5 people at the end

+++

1. What was your first cosplay? (Think hard on this)
Hikaru from Ouran High School Host Club. Though if you want to get really technical, I was the pink power ranger for Halloween when I was in kindergarten.

2. Did someone get you into cosplay? Or on your own?
A group of my friends wanted to do a group Ouran cosplay, so I got dragged into it, but I'm glad I was. ^_^

3. What is your favourite cosplay?
Well, I haven't done many, but I love them all for different reasons. Each outfit had special effort put into it, and I created fun and different memories in each outfit.

4. Which is your least favourite?
Who Knows...?

5. At conventions, do people compliment you on your cosplays?
Well, for my Ouran cosplay I got the most amount of attention but that was probably just cuz Ouran is so popular. But there was this one time at AX this past summer when my friend and I were trying to buy food and I was wearing my gothic lolita dress. And then this lady came up to me and started complimenting me. I was really flattered at first, but then she started to go on and on about how great it was. She honestly had me stopped there with my food in my hands for five to ten minutes and I was trying to be polite but in my head I was like, "Godammit lady, I get it! Can I just go buy my freakin' food?!" -.-X

6. How many have you done?
Hikaru from Ouran Host Club, Rath from Dragon Knights, two different Gothic Lolita outfits.

7. What are the top 5 on your list of "Want to Cosplay"?
1. Hei from Darker Than Black
2. Undecided female character from Dragon Knights
3. MORE GOTHIC LOLITA!!!
4. Edel from Princess Tutu
5. Uhmm... I'll get back to you on the last one...

8. (Girls only) What female cosplay do you want to do most?
Something that actually looks sort of like me, without me having to look like some awkward, too-tall, wrong-hair-colored version of the character. I hate when people do half-hearted cosplays and just buy the outfit but don't make the effort to actually look like their character! Grawr!

9. What male cosplay do you want to do most?
I wish I was small and petite so I could be Ciel from Kuroshitsuji! Wah~~!

10. What do you prefer to do, make or buy your costumes?
The Ouran outfit was put together from various different outfits, like: my black pants, my dad's white shirt, bought a blue jacket, ironed on the Ouran patch, etc. But the Rath costume was made complete from scratch, I bought the fabric and sewed it by hand cuz I don't have a sewing machine.

11. Your most memorable experience? What makes it so memorable?
The Ouran Tea party at AX 2007. They were short on people, so when they saw us heading towards it to check it out, they pulled us in and made us into hosts. It was awkward, haha.

12. Your dream cosplay?
O.O I have no idea...

13. Is there a pattern in your cosplays? If so, what? (Things like they have a certain personality, or hair colour)
No pattern whatsoever. Just whatever I like.

14. Your most recent cosplay?
I wore my Gothic Lolita dress for Halloween, haha. But I had my parasol with me and like 3 people asked me if I was Mary Poppins. -.-X

15. What do you prefer? Cosplaying in a group or on your own?
It's so much more fun to cosplay in a group.

I TAG.... you and you and you!

AGH, this all reminds me I still need to buy my ALA ticket~!! Grr. And I need to call up my friends and see what they're planning... Hmm...

Okay, well I went to Anime Expo once again this year. Fun times. Really. It was in LA this year, so everyone was kinda like NOOOO, this year is gonna be horrible, but it wasn't, honestly. Me and three of my friends stayed at a friends house cuz she lived right near by. I cannot thank them enough, her dad drove us there and back everyday and they even supplied us with food and such. Yayz.

Anywho, Day 1 got off to a slow start. We didn't do much. We didn't even get there until 10:30 or so and then all there really was to do was to hang around and check the place out. The exhibit hall didn't open until 12 (my favorite place) and there weren't any activities that anyone wanted to go to. And so... we hung out in line, getting hot and sweaty and photographed. It wasn't a pretty site. XD

I was cosplaying as the character Rath from Dragon Knights and not a single person knew who I was. No one asked for pictures either. It made me sad. Though, perhaps my costume wasn't the best. I made it myself, without a sewing machine or anything.

When they finally let us into the exhibit hall, I, of course, had a field day. I had saved up 300 dollars for AX and spent the first hundred on the first day. Then my friend and I decided to go to the Artist's alley. We had a lot of trouble finding it though. I ended up yelling at random people, asking if they knew where it was, but most of them were just like "sorry, no" and one kid gave me this weird look and flat out ran away!!! I was shocked; no one has ever flat out run away from me before. Anyway, we eventually found it. There were a bunch of great artists and I even got the names of a couple who are on dA. I've already put one on my watch list, mythchan [link] art is amazing and really great if you're into macabre and fantasy type stuff. I'm a little twisted. And Jyotii's is really nice too: [link] XD Give them a visit!

After that we all hung out upstairs with a large group of Akatsuki (from Naruto) cosplayers. I was like... "Hmm, this might not be a good time to admit that I'm really not a huge fan of Naruto." But a lot of my friends liked it and one of my friends was like... the only Neji around. I think there was one other Neji in all of AX (that I saw).

To end that day, my Neji-cosplaying friend and my Hitsugaya-taichou-cosplaying friend went to see the movie L Change the World in one of the theater rooms. Now THAT was an EXCELLENT movie. The actor for L is brilliant, they couldn't have done better. All his expressions throughout the movie... they were hilarious. And I am definitely getting myself an Angel Crepes truck for a getaway car. XD All of you, go watch the movie on youtube, or something. You won't regret it, I promise you. Although, I think my experience was great, because the audience was kind of participative; you could hear a loud comment every once in a while and everyone would laugh.

Day two was also fun. Of course. I was dressed in my Kuro Lolita outfit and had a field day with my parasol and little top hat. I went to a copic markers workshop and, because my friend and I got in line really early, we were able to sit up front at a table and actually play with some markers that they had. The talk they gave, while informative, was very boring. The best part, honestly, was the copic markers. I now know exactly what I want for my next birthday.

And I spent lots more money.

And oh! oh~! oh~~! I saw RIKU. *swoon* in REAL LIFE. Phantasmagoria was one of the first J-rock bands I ever listened to, THE first visual-kei band I ever liked, and they remain among the top of my favorite J-rock bands, right there with Girugamesh and Miyavi. Unfortunately, due to circumstances regarding Kisaki, they have disbanded. Riku, the vocalist, came as a sort of good-bye to the American fans. I got to shake his hand and take his picture!!!! *SQUEEE*

I met up with my friend dot [link] and we got to hang out, which was awesome since I hadn't seen her since last summer. She was cosplaying Tohru. We went to the Gaia online panel for awhile, but it wasn't that great, though at the very end, during Q&A, some girl proposed to one of the panelists (a gaia administrator?). Apparently she's done this for the past three years and he always refuses. XD Talk about unrequited love. >.>

Then we ate food. Good food. O.O Bagels and muffins rock my socks eternally. My friend...

She was an amazing person, was president of both the philosophy club and anime club (both of which I was part of which was how I met her) not to mention she took part in many other clubs, activities, and sports. She was sooo smart and graduated as valedictorian of the 2007 class. She had such a bright future.

Today I found out she became brain-dead last night after some internal bleeding in her brain due to a problem with medication she had been taking for a health issue. She will probably die soon.

(Edited on June 22: I found out that they took her off of life support on Friday, June 20. I hope her soul finds its way to wherever it's going.)

Please take my words to heart and never let a friendship go to waste and treasure every moment you spend with your loved ones.
Holy shiznit, I've reached 1000 pageviews. I have no idea how this happened. It must be a glitch on dA, maybe I should go report it...

You know, my gallery could be so much bigger if I ever bothered to put my drawings up. I literally just filled my sketchbook (and now I am sad because I must draw in a graph paper notebook until I get another blank one) with almost entirely fanart. And experimental drawings for a manga I'd LIKE to make but probably never will. Anywho, maybe if someone yells at me to put stuff up I will, but now... eh, scanning is a pain. *yawn*

Starting tomorrow is the last week of school and finals week (yay and nay). I'm a bit anxious for several reasons. First of all, there is an essay due tomorrow that I have not finished and probably will not finish. XD Cuz I suck like that and because there are parts that I don't know what I'm supposed to do cuz our teacher was out of town all week grading AP tests and we had a sub. So really it's all her fault for not leaving explicit instructions.

The other reason is that it's FINALS week and me, being the top-notch procrastinator that I am have not studied a thing. I wonder... maybe my GPA will finally drop below 4. >.> I keep waiting for it to happen but it hasn't yet, so maybe this will finally be the semester. XD

And last, I just got my hair cut short so that I could spray-dye it black and white and cosplay as Rath at Anime Expo but the frickin' lady cut it WAY TOO SHORT and I HATE IT!!!!!!! It was perfectly fine when she initially cut it and she asked me if that was right and I said yes. Then she said she had to even out pieces and make it neat and so she started trimming and trimming and TRIMMING, and now it's SHORTER THAN MY BROTHER'S!!!!! I'm hoping my hair miraculously grows like... 2 inches by the time Anime Expo comes around, hopeless as that hope may be. T.T I shoulda just gotten a wig, I shoulda just gotten a wig...

*dies*

End of School Year Survey!
(1) answer questions
(2) Tag 5 people

1) Well first of all - did you enjoy yourself, or would you rather this year not have happened?
I don't think the classes were as good as last year's, and I'm realizing a lot of the disadvantages and bad points of my school. Though it could just be a California schools thing. Though overall, I suppose it was a good year.

2) When is/was your actual last day of school?
June 12

3) Exams - when are they, and do you think you're going to do well?
They're all over the place -- and I have absolutely no idea how I'm going to do because I never study anyway.

4) Did you have a crush on anyone of the opposite sex this year?
Yes. But it was very short-lived. (Wait, why must you specify opposite sex?)

5) How many detentions did you get, total? Lunch/cafeteria duties?
I don't get detentions. I is a good girl.

6) Did you fail any classes?
I would hope not.

7) Do you feel like you've become less close with a good friend?
I have become less close with many good friends.

8) Gotten closer with any friends?
As a matter of fact, I have. Ironically, many of them are seniors.

9) About how many times do you think you've been grounded?
My parents don't ground me for punishment. But I usually don't get punished for anything either.

10) Most embarrassing time of the whole year?
I can't recall... If I think of something, I'll tell you.

11) Do you think next year will be able to top this year?
We'll just have to wait and see.

12) How old were you at this point last year?
15!

13) Which one of your teachers disliked you the most?
Probably my AP World History teacher. She claimed to like me, but I know better.

14) Which one do you dislike the most?
My AP World History teacher, making our feelings mutual.

15) Any cool vacations during the year?
My mom took me to Washington D.C. over Spring Break. Cherry blossoms~!

16) Did you change your hair color at all?
No reason to do so.

17) Gotten any surgeries?
XD Do I really need to answer this one?

18) Did you get into any fights?
Mrph. A couple.

19) Did you do anything you regret now?
I have no regrets. Well, that's not true. I regret not seeing S.K.I.N. when they were at Anime Expo last year, but that's not school related.

20) Did you go to any fairs/carnivals? One at your own school?
I went to one at my old middle school.

21) Are you going to go to the same school next year?
Yup

22) Did you meet someone that you actually cannot stand?
There are many people in this world that I cannot stand and somehow they often end up in the seat next to me in class.

23) Hugged someone at least once a week?
Oh, definitely.

24) Lost feelings for a person?
It's inevitable.

25) Favorite class?
Either Chinese or English.

26) Least favorite class?
AP World History.

27) Was there that one senior that all the underclassmen girls seemed to love?
Umm... I wouldn't really know...

28) Did you loooove him too?
see above answer. XP

29) How much do you think you spent on clothes this year? Did you really need them?
Very little, actually. I haven't had a truly decent shopping excursion in a long time. *wistful*

30) Did you do something this year that you've never done before?
I went to my first big concert! Woot!

Tagging: Anybody who's anybody! XD

There is absolutely no point to that title. At all.

A day in the life of me continues to be uneventful as alway. The teachers are all piling tremendous loads of work upon our poor teenage shoulders, never mind the fact that the majority of us have certain AP tests looming ahead next week. >.> I've actually been staying at school for longer than is necessary to work (a feat that is truly extraordinary for me).

On the brightside, one of our assignments is a research paper on a topic of our choice. I, being the nifty little Asian-luffer that I am, decided my topic would be Japanese pop-culture. It was required that we have three interviews, so interviewed one of my friends whom I had dragged with me to the Taste of Chaos concert in order to worship the godly real-life bishies that make up D'espairsray, Mucc, and the Underneath. XD Then I also sent emails with questions to editors of the Gothic Lolita Bible and the Jrock Revolution website. The former sent a reply with links to a previous interview, but did not actually answer any of my questions and the latter didn't reply at all. >.> I ended up scrambling for material at the last minute.

And so I have immersed myself in the glory that is Jrock. I'll hopefully be going to a Miyavi concert next week. ^_^ Now if only Girugamesh would come back to the States. >.<

Now it's time for some Anime Pimpage! XD Code Geass, which premiered on Adult Swim two weeks ago, but of which I had been a fan of since even before that, is the awesomest, most amazingest anime evah. The characters are designed by CLAMP and the plot is delicious. XD Everyone who reads this journal must go watch it. In other news, Dragon Knights volume 26 is out in less than two months and I am uber excited, despite already owning the Japanese version. And no new DK Gaidens have come out. T.T Either that or they haven't been scanned, but still! However, the DK Sanctuary has been updated and I will be skipping over there to read one of the new pages that looks particularly interesting. ^.^

Another superb anime out and about for the new spring animes is Amatsuki. I remembered having read the first two volumes in scanlation a long time ago (2 years?) and enjoying it. There haven't been many scanlation updates since then, but now that there's an anime, hopefully the demand will cause somebody to pick it back up again. Not to mention it has inspired me to look into classic Japanese thing-a-ma-bobs; I learned how to tie an obi for my yukata the other day. (It's a used men's yukata that I got for 30 bucks at a Marukai store. XD)

Oh, and if anybody out there reads Vampire Knight, that is also among the new animes for this season. The ending theme by Kanon Wakeshima is very pretty, it's called Still Doll.

Uwaaah~ I didn't eat lunch today. T.T

T.T *sigh* And I won't be going to painting tonight, either.

Saturday night I went to my first high school dance. The music was all hip-hop type stuff which I don't listen to, and the typical dancing couples were grinding their hips together in a way that isn't dancing at all. I preferred to dance by myself. The theme was Viva Las Vegas (so overdone),and my friend convinced me to dress up. And I wore false eyelashes, which I am now in love with. XD

I'm just discovering all the amazing fashion photos that are on dA and I am in love with them. I'm thinking of experimenting with a fashion shoot-type thing of my own. Just me, some friends, and crazy outfits. We'll see.

I'm pretty far along with painting The Mask for Tsume. Debating whether or not to use real feathers. Hmm... I have made so many decisions while doing this painting, it has been crazy. It was like, "I can do this, or I can try this, but wouldn't this look good?" XD I had no idea there were so many options when creating your own painting.

Now, I will continue to lie around in bed and ponder the downward spiral that is my school life and the evergrowing pile of to-do work.

Some days I feel like just hiding myself away in reclusion with nothing but a horde of yaoi fanfiction stories for company. Cuz life has just been sucky like that. I know I have no right to complain about anything--so many people have it so much worse than I do. XD I got a low-quality dress from ebay and went to a Lolita gathering in Little Tokyo and now I'm saving up for a higher-quality dress.
Yes, Christmas has come and gone and like most of California... there is no snow. T.T Damn this sunny weather. *grumbles* Our Christmas Eve was 76 degrees. And I'm gonna get so FAT!!! I've been eating Christmas cookies and chocolates for everyday meals! This morning all I ate for breakfast was cookies.

In other news, I got some nifty Christmas gifts. A how-to-draw manga book (I usually hate these cuz it only focuses on one style while anime comes in such a variety of styles) and a water color set which is totally awesome, so maybe I'll start putting more stuff up? Maybe?

And I do have a painting ready to put up, it's not quite done, but all I need to do are the sides and I'm going to add glitter to the sky, but that won't affect the pic so much, so I'm going to post it anyway... Look forward to it! And this means I will also be able to start on the challenge from Tsume VERY soon. XD I can't wait!

I would like to make note of something while I ramble here. It has come to my attention that OneRepublic's song "Apologize" has become popular recently. I was pleasantly surprised to hear it on the radio one day (I'd been listening to and loving this song for almost a year before it became popular) but 'lo and behold, it was some strange new remix-type thing featuring Timbaland. (I say this now: everywhere you go, people are saying Timbaland featuring OneRepublic--THE SONG IS NOT AND NEVER WILL BE TIMBALAND'S!!!) The original version is still on YouTube and is SO much better. XD So ends my rant.

Well, actually, my main enemy is Mariah Carey. We engage in mortal combat on a regular basis. But that's besides the point.

But yeah, who has time for anything anymore? I am dying in World History! Well, I have a B, but it feels like I'm dying. That stupid teacher teaches NOTHING! We pretty much learn everything on our own time, i.e. when we cram for tests.

But I'm getting better at golf. I got a 63 on a par 36 course. I've never gotten below double par before! I was excited. But my hands complain. Stupid blisters. Does anyone else think it's stupid that they only sell left handed gloves? Ten dollars for one glove! Not worth it...

On the downside, golf and schoolwork have been interfering with my painting time. I haven't been to my art class in over two weeks! Oh, the horror! My poor painting has been sitting neglected in the garage. But hey, I got to go to Camp Scherman last weekend! It was nothing like regular summer camp, but it was still nice, nonetheless. I ran up Pasole hill just for the heck of it (which is a steep, quarter mile hill) and got to sniff the tree that smells of butterscotch. XD

I did have a myspace account for awhile, but I recently deleted it. I had it for a year and only went on it twice. I always felt bad telling people I had a myspace, but not finding them or talking to them. I might get a livejournal though... Still thinking about it. And half the people I know have Gaia accounts.

I've been on a fanfiction kick for a while now, getting some good stuff up. And I have a lot of stuff that I've written that I haven't even put on fanfiction.net yet. It'll get there, in time. Am currently working on a Rockman.exe horror story for Halloween. That category has been recieving no love as of late. T.T And I've been obsessing over Kurogane and Fai. They're just so cute and angstable! Of course, there is no shortage of fanfictions. And who here has seen the previews for the Tsubasa OVA coming out in November in Japan? Squee! It has Kamui! XD

So, today my old middle school is having a festival and my friend and I are going to go and ride on rides and play games and eat food! Yay! Except, I'm not sure what I'll be eating since I has become a vegetarian as of last June and I don't remeber what foods they have. Mostly pizza and hot dogs and burgers I think. Either ways, I think it'll be fun. I'll probably see old friends that I used to hate and I'll talk to them as if we were bestest friends and have missed each other soooo much. Well, that was what happened last year, anyway. Maybe this year I'll ignore them. XD

So, school has begun. Actually school started on, like, the 28th or sumthin... And I'm now a SOPHOMORE! WOOT!

Any who, BUSY year ahead. No exaggeration. I know I mentioned my classes in my previous journal, but now I know more about them and I can go in to DETAILS. Because I know you're all just dying to know. XD

Our school has rotating block schedule so that makes things easier. But lessee, first period is AP World History. And my god, can that teacher talk. I don't think she stops to breathe. Seriously. There have been several times when she turned red. And that class is hard enough, we're gonna go through a chapter a week and they're like 20-30 pages each. That gives us about five days to learn everything in each chapter. XP
Next is Chinese II and boy is it sad. Last year's teacher was horrible, he never made us do anything so we never learned. We're about three chapters ahead of the Chinese I class, using the same text book. But I enjoy Chinese nonetheless.
Okay, then it's Algebra 2/Trig. Now let me just say that I HATE math. I absolutely abhorr it. Don't even ask me why I took the class. But the teacher tells perverted jokes and it's funny but also really awkward. She even used a student in one of the jokes. XD I felt so bad for him.
Fourth period is Honors Chemistry. I think it might be fun. I don't usually like science but chem is a little different and the teacher seems much nicer than all the other science teachers I've had the past four years.
Fifth is Honors English 2. Our teacher is kind of absent minded. Twice she's forgotten to make us turn in our homework and she keeps going off on random tangents. Ah well.
AND NO SIXTH! YES! It's so awesome being able to leave earlier. On even days anyway.

And now I am officially on the golf team. It's hilarious cuz I've never done more than miniature golf. First practice was today and probably the worst part was getting there. See, since I didn't have a sixth, I went home and had lunch. Then, I walked back to school because the golf coach was gonna drive me and someone else to the golf course. I get there, I see him in the distance, waiting outside his classroom, but I have to use the bathroom so I figure he'll wait a couple minutes. I come out and he is GONE. I run to the parking lots (there's two of them on opposite sides of the school. WHY? I don't know) and I can't find him. I speed walk home and my dad had just returned from picking up my brother. He takes me to the golf course and I ask this guy inside where my school's team is. He gestures vaguely in one direction on the golf course and says they're already out there. May I mention that I have never been there before. So I go, wandering out, can't find them, come back and ask a different guy, and he says, Oh yeah, they're probably hitting balls on the OPPOSITE SIDE OF WHERE THE FIRST GUY TOLD ME TO LOOK. So I go around and there they are. I was pissed.

But practice was fun. There's only about ten girls and we talk and stuff. It was more work than I was expecting it to be. Two hours later I walked home, which took about a half an hour.
And now it's dinner time and I'm tired, and there's something I got from Dragon-Of-Legend below:
--------------

No one seems to know what the meme means, but yeah, that's insignificant...

I am featured in [link] journal...go and check out her art!

The first ten people who reply to this journal and tell me that they want a spot will have me go through their gallery and pick my three favorite deviations and comment on them below, which in turn will be featured in this journal.

The catch is that to qualify, you MUST post a similar journal, this gives us an opportunity to really appreciate and support this lovely artistic global community we've got going on here. If you don't, I'll take down your feature.

I know I'm not gonna get ten people, but oh wellz...

Well, I can't say summer wasn't fun. I went to Camp Scherman twice! Once to be a counselor in training, and again to be a wrangler in training. I have been going to Camp Scherman since the third grade, so it's kind of a summer tradition now, almost.

I also went to Anime Expo (you can find a lengthy description of that adventure in a previous journal) and I did one day at Comicon. I got an autograph from M. Alice LeGrow (creator of Bizenghast)!

That aside, I did lots of sleeping, relaxing, reading, and procrastinating. In the last two weeks of my freedom I was busily working to finish my summer homework.

But now school has started again and I am a sophomore! Yayz. You know, last year I was always like, I am going to be nice to the freshmen next year, by now I'm just like, OMG they're so, so... they're such noobs! XD In a manner of speaking.

But this year, I have a rather busy schedule:
1. AP World History
2. Chinese II
3. Algebra 2/Trig
4. Pre-IB Honors Chemistry
5. Honors English
6. Free sixth, which is cool, but I might run for sophomore secretary, which would take my sixth.
Thankfully, our school runs on block schedule so we only have even periods one day for twice as long, and odd periods the other day. Kind of weird to adjust to, but it works.

Also, I might try to do golf... I was thinking about color guard for a while too, but then I decided not to. But I need some sport since they couldn't fit PE into my schedule.

Any-loo-who, I have been tagged!

The rules:

1. Post these rules.
2. Each person tagged must post 8 random facts about themselves.
3. Tags should write a journal/ blog of these facts.
4. At the end of the post 8 more people are tagged and named.
5. Go to their page and leave a comment telling them they're tagged.

tagged by dot...

2. The first manga I ever read was Dragon Knights 14 at Camp Scherman. Needless to say, I have been addicted ever since.
3. I have never dyed my hair, except for one time when I got highlights. I want to get bright red highlights someday.
4. I have an unfortunate love life and thus have never been on a real date... It has just never happened. T.T
5. After I'd gotten all my adult teeth, I had to have surgery because there was a mysterious extra tooth trying to come down.
6. I am a ninja-pirate-hobo-alligator. Oh yeah!
7. I am currently working on about five fanfictions.
8. I have not yet read the final Harry Potter. I'll get around to it... eventually...

Tagging...
Not gonna bother tagging other ppls... But feel free to steal this from me!

And it's still really hot... *sweating* T.T

Woooot!!!!! AX 2007 in Long Beach. What fun that was. I is sad that it has ended. 'Twas my first ever time at AX, so I was much in awe of the many sights and sounds and peoples...

First day, my friends and I dressed as the Ouran High School Host Club, minus a Hunny-sempai and Hikaru-kun. I was Kaoru, btw. I had a BRIGHT ORANGE WIG. It was not the right color, no it was not. It was also itchy and hot. Nonetheless, I struggled on.

There was an Ouran Tea Party held in one of the rooms and we decided to go see what it was, then ended up getting dragged in to be actual hosts! (They were short on people and were rather desperate) So I ended up acting as an actual host! But I was without my Hikaru, who was joining us the next day! (She had gone to see Wicked). But, fortunately, I was not the only Hitachin who was volunteering; there were two other and they were actual twins! I felt way out of my league. T.T But there was also this really cool Nekozawa lurking around and I swear, he was exactly like the real thing. He even had a little Bereznof/Beelzenof!

But I did do lots of shopping! ^.^ I got neko ears. And other stuffs... buttons, a Phantasmagoria poster, a wooden sword... But I won't bother listing it all. However, there was a concert going on that day, by the band S.K.I.N. Our group was walking by a group of people giving out free tickets, but we declined. We didn't know who they were at the time, but then I found out later and I was so freaking mad at myself! I was like NOOOOO!!!! GACKT-SAMA!!!!! *tears*

Day two, and I was once again Kaoru Hitachin from the Host Club, but this time I ditched my wig and had a twin. We matched pretty well. I was blond, but we'll skim over that little detail.

This was the day I found out about S.K.I.N. and I am now determined to NOT MISS THEM THE NEXT TIME THE COME AROUND!!! (whenever that may be, I don't know) *is letting the inner Jrocker out* I went to a "talk" about Jrock and it's a truly amazing fandom. I was a little disappointed because the actual panelists were delayed and never did show up, but some of the people who were running it and were huge Jrock fans did a pretty good job hosting it, I think.

Oh, and before I forget. There was a couple going around dressed as a Yuki and Kyo from Fruit's Basket. I asked, "So, have you two resolved your differences?" And lo and behold, the two started making out right there and then. The yaoi fangirl in me broke loose and was like YESSSS!!!! I got a picture. ^.^ There were a couple other people nearby who literally ran away screaming, however. It amused me.

And on the THIRD day, I dressed sort of normally, I added a bit more goth-ish-ness than usual to my outfit, and then I bought this adorable doll from a series called Precious Miseries. I went around holding her for the rest of the day. She is so cute! She's called Lil' Flower Girl. The next day (today) I bought the other which is called Lil' Ragdoll, I believe...

Anyway, I saw the concert for Chiaki Ishikawa, who is an anime theme singer. She sang with See-Saw for awhile but now she's going solo. She did an ending song for Gundam Seed. I honestly wasn't expecting much when I decided to go. I thought it would just be cool to go to a Jpop concert. But then, my God, she had a voice! Simply amazing vocals. I was impressed. When I find it, I'm going to by her new single coming out, "Uninstall". I wanted to get her autograph this morning (she was signing from 9 to 9:30) so my friend and I (my friend was staying at my house for a couple days) left early so that we would just make it, when I realize halfway there that I don't have my badge!!! T.T We ended up being 10 minutes late. But still, I am a new fan! I suggest listening to her, she is on YouTube.

Anywayz, on to what I consider the main event! The Masquerade! Where Cosplayers come from far and wide to present their outfits and do skits! (A good part of this is also on YouTube). But it was pretty cool, even before it started! While we were waiting for everyone to be seated, we were able to do the wave several times around the entire arena. The middle section killed it though. >.> And there was music playing and our little group of people started clapping and we eventually got practically the entire arena going! Then we all stood up and when the music changed, we changed what we were doing and did this little dance thing and people followed us again! A lot of people were also taking pictures of us, some of them were even professional people. A woman hinted, after taking our picture, that we might be in the news. We were like: What? No way! Just for acting like our normal, idiotic selves?? It was trippy. @.@

And then when lights dimmed, we were the ones to be waving our cell phones around first, and when we had everyone doing it, it was...

Who here has seen the Office Depot or whatever office supply store commercial where it's playing that song and then this little kid who's there for back-to-school shopping glares at the guy who sings that song (School's Out For the Summer!) and says, "I thought you said school's out forever."? Or something along those lines, I'm probably remembering some stuff wrong.

But anywayz, school is OUT and my freshman year of high school is OVER!!! In retrospect, it went by really fast and wasn't all that bad. But I'm kinda glad summer is here. I'm gonna miss all my senior friends, though.

Anywayz, big plans this summer!!! I'm going to Anime Expo for the first time! Yayz! Me and my friends are cosplaying Ouran High School Host Club characters and I am Kaoru. I couldn't find a good wig, so the one I ended up with is BRIGHT, NEON ORANGE!!!! It makes me laugh. But overall, I look pretty good for a cosplaying newbie. Next year I think I might try to be Ayame Sohma... but I'm getting ahead of myself.

I will also be going to a girl scout camp (yes, I am a girl scout) for several weeks as a counselor in training! Woot! (random person: who gave her the right to be an authority figure???)

And my friends and I will be doing lots of random, meaningless, fun stuff in between. But then, of course, there is summer homework. Rawr, it sucks to be an academic person sometimes.

But, another plus side to school ending is that I got to further my skills as a hobo. Despite school having been let out, my friends and I stayed after for like an hour, and do you realize the amount of things people throw away??? I jacked two perfectly good workbooks from the trash, one is French 1 and the other being Spanish 4 (even though I'm taking Chinese). And a Biology book I found lying around outside that someone is probably going to miss desperately over the summer when they need to do their summer work.

I felt like babbling. Things are goin good for me right about now. I have no current big school projects (well, actually I do, but they aren't very urgent) and I'm working on piano stuffs now (I'm a newbie) and even though I suck, I am making progress.

Summer is sooooooon!!! I can't wait!!! We get out sometime in June and I have so many plans. Anime Expo is just around the corner. Yayz! I'm going with a group of people and we're all gonna cosplay the Ouran High School Host Club characters. I get to be one of the twins and I'll get to perform brotherly love scenes! ^.^ I still need to find a good wig though... I keep forgetting about that.

I'm going to be a councilor in training at a camp too. That's only for a few weeks out of the summer, though. And also my friend and I are gonna be gettin' in shape! *flexes non-existent muscles* We're going to go kayaking and we aim to be able to kayak to Catalina Island on our own by the end of the summer. A rather large goal, but I think we can make it.

Have you ever stopped to think about how many ticklish spots a person has. I just found out today that some people's knees are ticklish, which I find kinda weird, but hey, it's one more thing I can blackmail them with. *evil grin*

YESH, things are looking good from where I'm standing!

Wow, it's been how long since I've been on dA? Who knows... But anywayz, I've been busy catching up on reading yummy CLAMP stuff such as Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle and xxxHOLiC.

And might I say that the Kamui from Tsubasa is just adorable! *sqees* I loved him so. I plan on drawing him. But then I got to the last available chapter, chapter 149 I believe it was, (I'm not going to say what happened since by chance some Tsubasa-reader who has not gotten that far might come across this journal) and I was weeping! It was the worst kind of cliffhanger! It makes me sad. T.T

And xxxHOLiC! The art is simply lovely! Such elegance! Such poise does the all-wonderful Yuuko-san possess! I'm just waiting for them to get on with the plot though, they're dragging it out and it seems like the endings gonna be something terrific. Not to mention I've joined the ranks of the Watanuki/Doumeki fangirls!

Either ways, I'm feeling the need to get some art on. I've actually been practicing drawing manga by copying pages from manga. That way I can get a better feel for expressions and posture, as opposed to just the pretty poses on covers and such. I've mostly only done DNAngel copies so far though. I still need to work on stuff, hands being a top priority.

Another thing I feel like ranting about is the lack of priority Tokyopop seems to be having as of late! They're releasing all these new series without focusing as much on the older and less-loved ones! Dragon Knights #25 has been out in japan for how long, and they're planning on releasing it in August??? That pisses me off. I'm trying to sustain myself by working on the translation of Gekka Kajin Lumen Lunae volume 1, another of Mineko Ohkami's tankoubon. However, my japanese is far from good and it's going rather slowly. But whatever.

Now that I've ranted about manga, I'm going to jump to school-- has anyone noticed how towards the end of the school year, a bunch of teachers tend to pile work on you with a blatant disregard for anything you may have to do for other classes? That always happens to me, but for some reason right now the total opposite is happening. Okay, so we do have to do a huge assignment in Biology and a sort of big one in English, but everything else is passing by like clouds. Light, fluffy clouds. In Chinese (which was never that hard to begin with cause our teacher kind of a pushover) all we've been doing is playing Chinese Chess (Xiangqi) which is actually really fun, though I'm horrible at it and lose to everyone. XP In Geometry we just have a crazy teacher and he pushed our test to next Tuesday because today is Friday the 13th, which I'm not really complaining about, and he did lots of review in class.

And yeah! It's Friday the 13th! I always want something really cool to happen, like a thunderstorm with a blackout or something. But nothing ever happens. It was actually a pretty good day, aside from having to go to a stupid pep rally outside in the stupid hot sun since our gym is having construction done. I had been hoping one of the cheerleaders would maybe fallover and break something, but to no avail. Oh wellz. Maybe something will happen on May 4th (a Friday) since four is a number of death.

...Wow, I enjoy journals too much. I should go try to draw something.

If your life were a movie, what would the soundtrack be?

So, here's how it works:
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don't lie.

Opening Credits: Malo- Yuliya Savicheva
Well, it's in Russian, so I don't exactly know what it means, but it's something about not enough...?

Waking Up: The Only One - Evanescence
Uhh... dunno what to say about that...

First Day At School: Passion - Utada Hikaru
Err... The first day of school is always a little surreal...

Falling In Love: Lose Control - Evanescence
I guess when I fall in love, I'll not have complete control of myself.

Fight Song: I Can't Be Bothered - Miranda Lambert
Ha! These losers so aren't worth the effort!

Breaking Up: Ghost Story - Sting
Whatever... I don't really like that song.

Prom: Never-ending Story - Withing Temptation
Oh god no! Why must the torture never end???

Life: Ourselves - Ayumi Hamasaki
I wish...

Mental Breakdown: Eto Byla Lyubov' - Dima Bilan
Also Russian and it has nothing to do with breaking down! It's a sappy love song.

Driving Far Away: American Idiot - Green Day
Because Americans are idiots, I shall leave America and fly to... Japan.

Flashback: Another Hole In the Head - Nickelback
So I'm remembering the last hole in my head?

Wedding: Rain - L'Ame Immortelle
Wow, what a dark and gloomy wedding day...

Birth of Child: In the Nightside of Eden - H.I.M.
Er...huh?

Final Battle: On Our Way - Christina Aguilera
I guess that's a good title for the end.

Death Scene: Hand 'Em High - My Chemical Romance
I have been persecuted and killed for my sins! ... I dunno, just felt like saying that.

Funeral Song: The Battle of One - 30 Seconds to Mars
There would be a battle at my funeral, wouldn't there?

End Credits: Beautiful Disaster - Kelly Clarkson
Yes, if that was a movie, it would have been a huge disaster. Maybe it would have won an award in comedy tho.

I tag... Nobody, cuz everyone I know (not very many people) has already been tagged anywayz.

Yeah, so... so far I've mostly been talking about me. Me, me, me, wanna talk about me, wanna talk about I... and now I'm singing a Toby Keith song so I'll just shut up now, shall I? Yes, well, as I was about to say, there are some really great artists out there and I'm having a lot of fun going around and viewing people's stuff. I'm also commenting which is a good thing to do I s'pose.

I highly recommend the Random Deviant button down at the bottom because there are so many people out there and a lot of them are just like me and no one ever looks at their stuff even if it's totally fantastic. So I felt like I should go around and do a favor to all those people who are like me and don't really have anyone watching them or looking at their stuff. I mean, it's totally awesome when you get a comment by someone!

Anywayz, recently I've been debating with myself whether regular pencil and paper is better or if I should use Manga Studio 3.0. Cuz I can do a lot more with pencil and paper and I'd really like to color some of my stuff in, but Manga Studio doesn't come with coloring options. It has shading tools but that just doesn't compete with good old color pencils. In my opinion anywayz. If I was actually making a manga (which I don't feel like doing as of yet), then sure, the shading tools are great. But right now I just want to doodle and color. Is that so much to ask for?

Woah, I've gotten good at ranting. I've come to realize that the less I'm supposed to write, the more I have to say. And that is like one of the most annoying things in the world. I'd much rather have a lot to say during the times I'm supposed to write a lot. But I always seem to come up short. I mean, is it too much to ask to simply not go brain dead while trying to write my English essay on Of Mice and Men? I mean, really.

Another thing I'd like to complain about. Tokyopop has a whole bunch of these new series coming out but they're barely keeping up with the current stuff they have. I mean, they could at least get an estimate of when the 25th Dragon Knights is going to come out. They've been doing this series for years and now it feels like they are just completely ignoring it. Last time it took them like half a year to come out with the next book. Now they'll probably take a year. And the series is almost over too! That seriously pisses me off. Being a devoted Dragon Knights fan, I want to know what happens. I know Dragon Knights is not their most popular series or anything but do they have to push it aside like they seem to be doing? So yeah, ranting and raving is done now. Thank you for patiently hearing me out, person who may read this in the future.

Yayz! I've finally done what I came here to do: Put up wonderful fan arts of some of my fav animes! I started with two from Dragon Knights that are actually kind of old that I've been meaning to put up, and then the other is Enzan from Rockman.EXE which I was inspired to do by my friend blues-lover.

So that of course means I get to write another journal that no one will read! YAY! I like these journal thingies.

So, anywayz, I have some plans for writing stuff. Not sure when I'll get around to it, but I do have plans. So...TTFN!

Wow, how long have I been a deviant? And how active have I been? Yeah, not that active. Life's a busy place, y'know?

But I've got two paintings I've completed and I promise I'll get them up as soon as I possibly can and I know all you nonexistant people reading this are so excited. *hint hint sarcasm*

On another much more frustrating note, I just have to say that I'm really mad cuz I want to join my school's swim team, but the practice schedule is so messed up and it goes over my art class time which means I have to either give up art class for a few months or not do swimming, but I'm in the middle of a really nice painting that I'm doing for my friend and I don't want to just stop in the middle. But on the other hand, I really want to join the swim team because I've never ever participated in a school sport and I want to be part of the team and push myself and challenge myself (hey, they're making us practice ten hours a week) and get in shape and I just REALLY REALLY WANT TO and it's PISSING ME OFF!!! *sighs* Okay, done now.

But hey, anyone watch the Prince of Tennis? Japanese version, not the stupid English version because in my opinion they did a really poor job of dubbing that one. I love Ryoma Echizen and his voice actor is the same guy who plays Ritsuka from Loveless and I love Ritsuka. So now I've got lots of yaoi ideas floating around in my head and I've become a supporter of the Ryoma/Tezuka pairing.

Thank you for allowing me to write hear and if anyone actually read this far, you are very brave and dedicated indeed.

I was gonna put up a faerie picture but the picture's on my laptop, which does not have internet connection because my stupid parental control units will not let me have my own internet. So I tried to transfer the image on a floppy but something got messed up so, yeah...

As for me, I have not been around as of late. Nothing seems to have been happening on the internet lately, at least not in the areas I'm concerned with. Also, as of recently I got one helluva cold. Actually, I had a fever for a few days so I'm recovering from that.

And Christmas is in two days!!! I feel bad cuz I never got the chance to give my friends their gifts because of this damn cold. So they're all getting late gifts. But whatever.
