Looks like we are quickly approaching my only Canadian convention appearance which is at the Calgary Comic Expo 2013!

This show I will be blowing out a bunch of older pages with a range of prices. I'll bring some Sakura, Ibuki, and even Juri pages. Thats right Juri sequential pages, as close to Juri Legends as you'll get at the moment.

Once I get to reading week though I think I will be able to make some instant gratification commissions for the Calgary show coming up in April. What's going on people. I hope all is well. I have been swamped with a lot of work in the last few months and am revamping my ciriculum for my digital classes as well. All in all things are moving along ok. I had to cancel Dubai because of an unexpected class I had to teach. Had I know I was to teach that class I would not have promised the Dubai show I would go.

It looks like I'll be only doing two conventions this year, one will be Calgary Expo, and maybe SDCC again. I think the era of con going has come to an end for me as I don't have the time and energy to invest in it. I can safely say that 2012 was a very important year in my career. My first book came out, I went to many a con, and i started working on what seems to be one of the largest projects in recent history for me.

However, all those things pale in comparison to one thing: I have started my story 5C after many years went by with distractions and other factors hindering me, both mentally and monetarily. The entire first part of December  worked extremely hard to get well ahead on my work for Namco to afford some time for myself.

I had a wonderful day on which I started 5th Capsule, and I have at the moment layed out 8 pages, I had a lovely dinner of Malaysian food (Green Curry Chicken extra spicy) and a carrot cake cupcake. I ate so much today,, and got a high pro coffee mug from Willaim Ashley (Stoneware).

What an awesome day, I feel so full of energy and the doldrums that plagued me have all but become a memory the sooner forgotten the better!

This concerns me in that it could be perceived that I have abandoned you guys and i think deserves a bit more explanation:

Firstly, since Ramadan where I basically fasted from the inter-webs and its allures as much as possible I have not been the same at all. That was really the point of no return it seems. I already stated some of the observations I noted in that time, and you can feel free to delve back in journal posts to learn more. Summed up, I found that BTV was bringing out the worst in me and changing my character for the worse.

In this month I really took some time to get rid of a lot of distraction and really focus on some of the major faults in my character I found cropping up over the last year. SO as expected last week, beatrush arrived in Mississauga last Tuesday. I had him stay in a hotel close to my place so that i could take him around. i took him to all the spots  where many aspects of my show took place and i also took him all the way to Niagara Falls to see it as well.  I will leave it up to him to tell you all the details but he has for sure seen  many sites including my old office and the famous snowball incident location.

After the kids went to sleep wife and I read the book from start to finish soaking up every detail. Only 3 spelling mistakes I found, but more importantly all the images printed out nicely. Overall I'm happy with the outcome and I have no doubt that with the additional commentary for each piece it will be more than just another artbook.
