A Warhammer 40k site I frequent is having a 20% off sale. Considering how expensive these things can be, especially in bulk, thats a very good thing. And, since it's based in Canada, the conversion rate works in my favor, being in the US. However, I won;t have anyone to actually use them against for quite awhile. So should I get them now when they're cheap, and have them ready and all for when I can play? Or wait till their regular priced, but be able to be used right away?

And now the snideness. Feel free to skip is you want.

Now...I've never had a high opinion of critics. Movie, tv, book, any of them. Why you may ask? Well, several reasons.

One, why would I let someone tell me what i think is good? I think I'm a fairly good judge on if I find a book or movie boring.

Two, not everything is going to be The Godfather, or som massive earth moving epic. Some things are going to be silly and campy because, you know what? Thats what they're about.

Three, if something has source material, and you aren't familiar with it, you shouldn't be allowed to critique it at all.

And finally, why should anyone be payed to try and make other people agree with their opinion? For example, I hate the entire Twilight series. The writing is dull and lackluster, the characters are incredibly poorly thought out, have only 1 personality setting, and lack any semblance of realism. There are certain things a being has to do to be a vampire. Noone in that book fits that criteria. It is a bad series. There, I have done what a critic does. Where is my check?

I just don;t know what to do anymore. Honestly, I can't honestly see myself continuing along this path for my career, or even my education, and being happy. But neither can I just quit and have everything gt better either. I could switch to the Animation major, and not have to do the 3d courses anymore(the only 3d classes I ever wanted to take were level design and texturing, period). But I've never wanted to do animation. I just don;t know what to do anymore, and nothing seems worth it.

Assy McGee....well, I'm sure a 5 year old would find that amusing if the language was cleaned up. A walking ass, who's a cop and a douche. I'm sorry, but wo in their right mind would think, "Hey, why not have a walking, douchbag who's a literal ass, as the main character of a show"? Honestly, how does that come into someones head when they're not on drugs?

And Tim and Eric....I can;t begin to go on about that one. I couldn't finish a whole episode. I honest to goodness felt bad for the actors doing it, I felt so embarressed for them. I'm ashamed to have watched it, I can;t imagine what it must have felt like to actually film it. I'd never do it, I've seen drunks act better.

Overral, brawl definatly lived up to the hype. It kept to the well beloved formula of it's predeccesors, but changed and added enough to still be new. While alot of those were good things, a few I think the game would of been better without.

First, is the subspace emissary. The adventure mode for one, or two players. The story is good I thought(will try not to spoil anything for anyone). Though i felt some newcomers, like Pitt and Diddy, got to much screentime, as opposed to the mainstays like Link and such.

Slipping. This was a damn dumb idea. I can understand slipping on the bannana peels, or on the ice stage. But when I try to cancel charging Lucario's attack, and slip and fall without even having tried moving anywhere. Or try to run from a dead stop, and slip, it just gets dumb and aggravating. This is a feature that needs to go.


Final Smashes. When everyone heard about these, they were freaking out at how cool it is. However, it's an unbalanced system. Several characters, have a nigh one hit KO's(Samus, Ganondorf, Falcon, Link, Snake, Ike). While others have some that are almost impossible to avoid(Snake, Sonic, Olimar, Dedede). And others have some that can be almost useless(for example, Lucario's Final Smash deals only 25% damage, has a horrible turning rate, and unless the target has high damage, it's not got a chance in heck of Koing them, Ganondorfs Warlock punch deals more damage and knockback. Metaknights can be avoided with virtually no effort, And DK's...unless he does it right next to you, you can just sit there and watch it). For a name like Final Smash, it's an awfully unbalanced item attack system. If it's gonna stay, I feel it needs to be balanced out bigtime, make it the same threat level for everyone, or get rid of it.

And finally, this goes out to all the move spammers and edge whores...grow some balls and learn to play. I know victory makes the match sweeter. But when your playing on the Wii network, and all you do is spam a move and then edge whore, it's not fair to your opponents, who want a good fun match. I may not speak for everyone, but I'd rather lose in a extremely tough match, then have to put up with a cheap opponent who takes the fun out of the game.

9.Judge Dredd-Dude was just a @$$hole.

8.M.O.D.O.K.-A giant, supersmart, floating head more or less. His design is ridiculous, his origins are cliched, and all anyone has to do is sneak up behind or beside his mammoth dome, and beat him in the head with a rock.

7.Carnage- Venom was cool, he was original in the Marvel Universe. Carnage is his wannabe. Not similar enough to be a clone character, but made just to profit off the original. Though I must admit, the Maximum Carnage saga was awesome. Still, want a interesting lunatic? Go with Joker, he's funny.

6.Jabba the Hutt-He killed a Twilek. Twileks are hot. They're the reason I first got into Star Wars. That and he's just icky. Wanted to pour some Salt on him and watch him shrivel up.

5.SS4 Gogeta-Deus Ex Machina anyone? A fighter to powerful to be hurt? Lame way to beat a bad guy.

4.Chiaoutzu-Tiens little vampire buddy from DB and DBZ. He....really didn't do anything other then die. I mean, even Krillin used him as a punching bag. I don't think he ever actually won a fight...

3.Naraku- The villian from Inuyasha, who'd make a nigh impenetrable barrier, which, ofcourse, gets broke, he gets his dumb little head blown off, and he runs away, so it can all happen again, in the next season. Wow....could there BE a worse villian? Did he ever actually win a fight against a major character?

2.Reed Richards-Biggest @$$ in the marvel universe. Period. Even Tony Starks part in Civil war doesn't make him near as bad as Richards. Don't beleive me? Read Fantastic Four.

1.Superman-OMG, Superman!?! That's like, a terrorist act hating him! Yeah, well, I do. Why? He's an overrated dick. He's pretty much DC's deus ex machina. Something bad happens, guess who is, 95% of the time involved in solving it? Superman. Need a way to stop a diabolical plot, guess who gets some BS new power? Superman(seriously, not even useful ones half the time, I'm talking about things like super math, super knitting, and super catching. How in the hell do you CATCH super?). Who's died more then most of the X-Men combined? Superman. Who's killed Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, and Batman on a semi-regular basis? Superman. Who's been continuosly harassed by Luthors green glowing stones and is to dumb to just off the little git? Superman(The dude dedicates his life to killing you, just off him in a battle, it's justifiable self defense, sheesh). Simply put, I think he's way overrated. Having someone who can do anything, a good superhero does not make.

10.Lu Bu-The resident asskicker from the Dynasty Warriors series. Lu Bu was tough enough that his intro cutscene causes people to die and your armies morale to plummet. And then he'd kill you. In the second level of the game no less.

9.Blackheart-The son of Mephisto and one of the heaviest hitters in the Marvel universe. Blackheart has nigh unlimited power at his bec and call, and that dumb actor in the movie(not to mention the movie itself) didn't do him a lick of justice.

8.Lisa Trevors-The immortal face stealing zombie girl from Resident Evil on the Gamecube. Not only was she quite literally, unkillable, but the more you tried, the more dangerous she got. And if she cornered you, you were dead. Not to mention the moans she makes are damn eerie.

7.Caroline-The shapeshifter from Vampire Hunter D:Bloodlust, of all the minor villians, her death is the one that pissed me off. She survives her fight with D, and has the heroine in a death grip, when, tralala, lightning strikes her. LAAAAAME. If she was gonna go out, coulda atleast made it in style against D, not a freak accident.

6.Meier Link-While not really a villian....or even evil, he was against D, so he had the role of main antagonist. I felt sorry for him, he just wanted to get his game on, and he was hunted for it. So sad.

5.Jarlaxle-Another who isn't really evil, but his plans often put him opposite Drizzt, so he can be technically called a villian. He's just to quirky to hate though, I mean come on.

4.Juggernaut-He's the Juggernaut bitch!

3.Spiral-The 6 armed hottie who unwillingly works for Mojo. She's managed to take down the X-men and the Avengers all on her own. Also a scientific genius and master sorceress, her only downfall is in her arrogance, like most villians have.

2.Jedah-The Dark Messiah from the Vampire Savior game in the Darkstalkers series. He wanted to save the world...by taking the souls of other beings and uniting them into one spreme being. Hey, good intentions and all...

1.Broly-My favorite character from the DBZ series, and my favorite villian. He was a merciless wrecking machine.He took everything the Z fighters through at him and laughed. He destroyed a planet while standing on another on and just shooting it. He caused explosions by simply running into people, and he had to be beaten by the typical deus ex machina.

10.Gamera-Yep, starting us off is the freind to all children, rocket powered lizard, Gamera. The first gamera film i ever saw was gamera: Super Monster...which was 98% stock footage. But never the less I was hooked. he was a turtle with fangs and rocket legs, what wasn't to like? Admittedly, alot of his foes were...well, they were really really dumb. A few, like Jiger and Barugon(taste the rainbow!) I really enjoyed for their uniquness.

9.The Deadly Mantis-An old 1950's black and white movie, and my personal favorite of the giant insect attack genre, the Deadly Mantis was someone you didn't want to mess with. Shrugging off a 10,000 year deep freeze from the ice age, and wading through everything the military could think of, it finally took a jumbo jet to the face to knock him outta the sky long enough to be dealt with. Hardcore for a bug.

8.Giant Gila Monster-Another B&W giant killer animal, with a taste for cows and teens, this guy waltzed his way wround the midwest, till a teen with a car full of nitro drove down a bumpy mountian path to save the day, and make physics cry.

7.Gorgo-Gorgo was big, she was mean, and she wanted her baby. And she choke slammed Big Ben. And those ears were awesome, don't deny it.

6.Godzilla-The King of the Monster, Godzilla's graced the screen more then any other monster, and played every role there could be. Hero, Villian, Anti-hero. Not to mention crossing over with several Japanese shows, and spawning numerous cartoons and knock offs. He truly deserves the title King.

5.Battra-A co-star of Godzilla, Battra was the antithesis of Mothra, and the physical manifestation of the Earths lifeforce. Battra was a spiked bug of angry death, and in it's larvae form, fought Godzilla to a standstill. It's Adult body was destroyed neutralizing Godzilla's threat, leaving Mothra to carry out it's mission.

4.Maro-The wolf goddess from Mononoke Hime. Maro was awesome. While not as big as the other creatures that appeared in the movie, she was as cold and cunning as they came. And her head managed to bite off a womans arm. Yes, her head. No body attached.

3.Rabites-The sheer amount of awesomeness from Square Mana series games. Play them. Now.

2.Titanosaurus-Titanosaurus was a departure from the standard Toho monster in many ways. he was brightly colored, was passive by nature, had a loud trumpeting roar, and ge gad no shiny spiffy beam weapons, he was old school tooth and claw. And using just that, he gave Godzilla a run for his money. Who else has uppercutted Godzilla across a city street?

1.Anguirus-The first monster movie I ever saw was Godzilla raids again. And I, was instantly rooting for Anguirus.The second oldest Monster in the Godzilla series proper, Anguirus matched Godzilla blow for blow, even gaining the upper hand several times before finally being outmatched. And then, he resurfaced as Godzilla's ally. Using his sheer tenacity to steamroll over foes such as Ghidorah and Gigan. Only Mechagodzilla was able to succesfully beat him, simply being to tough to beat in a drag out fight one on one, something even Godzilla couldn't do himself. No monster has been as tenacious as he is.

Ok, first off, I was abit depressed with the movie. It wasn't bad, not at all. However, with all the mystery and they hype around it, I was inspecting...you know..."WOW!", and instead, it was simply...."cool".
And the "camcorder" view was a nifty idea. But, when in the middle of an action scene, the "tape" switches to a earlier recodrding of a holiday at the beach...for the 5th time in a minute span, it just gets really annoying. The characters, also seemed at times to really lack any form of common sense, especially Hud in his death scene, WTF was that about?
And now, onto the monsters. I'll start with the sealice.....they looked like the bugs from Starship Troopers, and sounded the same as the Tauntauns from The Empire Strikes Back. Yay for lack of originality there. And "Clovers" design was just....well, considering you often only got a glance at it, it was a let down. It looked alot like Crustaceous Rex from the American Godzilla series.....or like a skinned spider monkey. It's origins were also never touched on. It just WAS apparently.


Overall, it was still a fairly entertaining watch, and I'd recommend seeing it atleast once.

The first is Public Speaking. I'm not a fan of talking to large crowds of people, atleast not while standing up behind a podium, but it's not like it's anything to heavy. Got alot of freinds in that class, and the teachers real funny and laid back, so it's cool.I mean,. my first speech was on Godzilla, food, and Dynasty Warriors...it doesn't get much more layed back then that.

The second class, and one I'm already starting to enjoy alot, is intro to 2d animation. It's alot easier then I thought it'd be, even if it is alot of work, and the teachers really cool too. We're currently working on a character walk cycle, and I was assigned a Zombie Prom Queen from the 1950's(which is cool, because I REALLY wanted to do a zombie). If DA is able to, I'll upload the few practice animations I got done.

And now I'm off to McDonalds for food...mmmm, chicken biscuits.....

So, even in summer, school gets me. Got a big letter from the school today, saying I failed my character design class. Apparently, my teacher did decide to not grade anyone who's projects were not "done to his liking" or "met his artistic and aesthetic expectations". In other words, despite the fact I was only missing a few poses for some of the characters I designed, 4 weeks of work was not graded, i got 7 f's, and failed the class, along with 31 out of the other 35 people in the class. Apparentl;y missing 4 poses is more important then the other 32 illustrations, and all the time and money I put into this damn thing. I'm honestly considering leaving that place, I don't care if it's the only place around that teaches what I wanted to do, because it's killed my love for it, and I'm sick of throwing my money away to crackpot teachers, and fucking fascists.

Not so. After I get in the shower, my good for nothing aunt shows up, unnanounced, with my two cousins. Now, most of my family gets along great together, on both my mother, and fathers side, but not these 3. The only time we ever hear from them at all, is when they want something. And so, they drop in unnanounced saying they were, "in the neighborhood", which meeans they've come to eat our food, beg for favors, and otherwise be a mooch.

So, I go to my room and spend most of the day watchingmovies and playing games. Well, I go down to get a snack, and apparently my parents have taken my aunt out somewhere, so it's me, my little bro, and my cousins. Now, my cousins are the biggest bullies in the worls, so long as they outnumber the people they're bullying. And they were picking on my bro for who knows what.

Now, I was in a bad mood to begin with, so when they start shoving him around, I just...snapped I guess. Next thing I really know, I'm knocking the stuffing out of them like there's no tomorrow. Ofcourse, that's when the old people come home, and my cousins go crying to their aunt, who goes on a tirade about me beinga brute, and I should get medical help for my emotions.

And now, I've never been more proud of my dad then I was right now, he tells my aunt to shove it and get out. Wow, it was the coolest moment of the day by far. So, after that calms down and they skedaddle, I get on the computer...and our internet provider has canceled our account for some reason, so I spned 4 hours on the phone with them.

Gotta looooove them friggin holdays bringing everyone together ne?

It was the first good day I had in awhile today. I got to sleep in late, I got all my homework done, I finished a bunch of pics(course my scanners offline, AGAIN!), I saw Silent Hill, and the best part of all, I got the Red Lobster Cheddar Biscuits I've been craving for so very, very long now! I musta eaten atlest 3 whole basketfulls of those things. I couldn't button my pants when I was done. And then I saw Silent Hill, which was so awesome as to be boner inspiring. I did have one problem with it though-WARNING SPOILER AHEAD, YOU DON'T WANNA KNOW WHAT HAPPENS SKIP THE NEXT PARAGRAPH!!!
