A few things. First, on an unrelated note, the Ashachu To The Rescue clip is delayed until I can get my Dad to help me pull it out of storage. Hopefully tomorrow my Dad will work on it. He doesn't want me to do it myself and was too tired to do so today.

Second is to say I am a girl. I am a woman... more specifically. I never really considered my screenname to be masculine but a lot of people have been mistaking me for a male lately. It doesn't really bother me but I still wanted to clear it up.

The last thing to mention does bother me. Please please please please, ask me before posting my artwork or a link to my artwork on some other site. I don't even mind if you just mention that you're name dropping it in the comments section. It annoys me when I find my stuff posted places I've never been and was not aware of.

I recently had a comic of mine linked from a forum that was criticizing me for my opinions without my acknowledgement. If they had just asked permission, it wouldn't have bothered me as much. But because I happened to stumble upon when googling my screen name, I was both shocked and hurt.

So please, in the future, just ask.

I've decided ultimately not to post my anti-twilight antics. I realize it's been done before and I don't want to overdo it. And it will take way too much time. Time that I don't really have to give.

So instead, I am humbling offering you this.

Instead, would anyone be interested in me posting every week small parts of my old old old old old fanfiction? It's all pokemon and all pokeshippy and all hilariously bad. In warning... I have to tell you it's bad because I was 12 going through middle school and apparently I needed to lay off the caffeine (sometimes even the thesaurus).

I think some people might be interested. Not only for laughs but also to see how far someone can come if they practice!

I have some of my very first stories nearby- but I'll have to dig them out if I get enough of a response. The first story I would be starting with is my very first fanfiction of 12 pages titled Ashachu To The Rescue. Apparently I had the same episode titling skills as the pokemon writing staff. Ba dum dum.

I wrote that story in the middle of my seventh grade year, the week after I saw the pokemon episode Tower of Terror. It's over nine years old now. And it will probably be very hard to read (I think the notebook was turning yellow when I last saw it) but I'll type it up as close to the original as I can stand.

Let me know what you all think, and I'll try to get the first part up sometime either this or next week.

It just steams me up! I can't stand it anymore! I need to rant! This damn Eclipse book is driving me crazy! How the hell can this be called romance? It's not romance! It's not even remotely romantic!

I've just reached the part where Alice has proceeded to kidnap Bella in Edward's attempt to keep her isolated from her friend Jacob. What's in it for Alice? A car. A damn car. And not only is it a car- but a car that Edward will buy for her. Why the hell can't Alice get the car herself? I mean, are vampire women not allowed the credit card or something? And why doesn't it bother her that Edward bribed her in putting her own friend under house arrest? What the hell?

Don't even get me started on how Edward removed the engine from Bella's car earlier. I about ripped the book spine apart- and it's not my book so I really shouldn't do that.

I do not find someone controlling and demeaning me- a gentlemen. I call those type of men douche bags. I'm a very independent, free spirited woman. I'm even proud to admit I'm a feminist. This does not mean that I'm going to go out burning bras and marrying other women (even if some feminist are lesbians, not all feminists are). Men are feminist too! Feminist doesn't mean we're men haters; lets all go start an amazon tribe in the woods!

It means equality. It strives for both sides of the relationship to raised up equal. It means that I will open a door for both men and women because I'm being polite. Not because I feel obligated because of my sex. It means I appreciate myself and do not want any man or woman to control my life in any fashion.

Edward berates her. He belittles her intelligence. He never lets her drive or make any sort of independent choices of her own. He follows her around constantly. He stalks her. And he isolates her from her friends. Bullshit about that being her decision. Jacob was not someone she isolated herself from- and Edward stepped in to stop that.

Bella is not in an equal relationship. She does not choose anything. And the one thing that she does choose is denied to her for three freaking books.

StephEnie Meyer had this to say about the anti-feminist claims against Bella. "In my own opinion (key word), the foundation of feminism is this: being able to choose. The core of anti-feminism is, conversely, telling a woman she can't do something solely because she's a woman—taking any choice away from her specifically because of her gender. "You can't be an astronaut, because you're a woman. You can't be president because you're a woman. You can't run a company because you're a woman." All of those oppressive "can't"s.

One of the weird things about modern feminism is that some feminists seem to be putting their own limits on women's choices. That feels backward to me. It's as if you can't choose a family on your own terms and still be considered a strong woman. How is that empowering? Are there rules about if, when, and how we love or marry and if, when, and how we have kids? Are there jobs we can and can't have in order to be a "real" feminist? To me, those limitations seem anti-feminist in basic principle.

If StephEnie Meyer knew anything about modern feminism she would know that we do not put limits on women's choices. We aren't saying you can't have a family. We aren't saying you can't have love. This is in-fact a typical rebuttal for feminist views. What if the woman chooses to be a house wife? Well then fine. But what if she was conditioned to believe that's the only option she had to take? What if that's what all the women were in her life, what if she didn't know that there wasn't a glass ceiling over her head?

I personally hope to someday have a family (mostly of dogs). And of course I'd love to have someone care about me. To have a husband. Possibly a child if I think I'm ready. These are my choices.

What are Bella's so called choices?

StephEnie Meyer says they are three things. Romantic love. Marriage at an early age. And to have a life threatening baby. So let's examine these shall we?

1.) She chooses romantic love.
Except it isn't really love. Love is defined by feelings of compassion, attraction, and compatibility. Except where in the two weeks that Bella first meets Edward does she share a heart felt conversation with him? Were does she find out exactly how he felt- beyond who he was as a vampire? So I swear I'm working on all my writing projects but I get side tracked and bored easily. It's hard to sit down and stare at a computer screen when the weather is nice.

But anyway, I will try to get both the angst day one-shot up and finish the first one-shot request, Hold On, at long last. It just might take a few more weeks. Until I get in the mood to write again.

So, in my random looking-for-something-to-do-without-having-to-actual-doing-anything surfs of the internet, I did my occasional skim for the Detective Conan movie uploads. I've been waiting for the Raven Chaser to pop up somewhere since it was released in Japan last April. I can't even describe how painful the wait was. It really sucks living in America sometimes. Feels like we're the last to get anything.

But long story short, I finally found it. It was a shock! I thought it was one of those fakey videos put up to make you think someone had posted it but really it's just a reel of stupid music and a movie screen shot. Trust me, I've run into this a lot more than I would like to admit. It's especially annoying when the person thinks they're funny by posting it.

So I stayed up the whole night watching it. Typically I don't watch RAW videos because I know next to no Japanese. But I figured if I didn't watch it now, youtube would take it down in the morning. And wow. That was an awesome movie.

Even if through most of it, I was scratching my head trying to figure out what the hell was going on. Why the kids were chasing beetles with sticky tape on them. Why the supposed murderer seemed so mellow. Who the creepy cop chick was and why no one suspected her of being evil... like I did. But I think I was supposed to suspect her. If I wasn't so certain she was evil- I would have noticed who the true bad guy, as they were my second guess.

Yeah, they did lead their fans on. Though they aren't as bad as the pokemon trailers, that lead on their fans with clips that never come to pass in the movie. I'm talking to you Revelation Lugia. I haven't forgotten your empty cliff diving promise. Even Stephenie Meyer provides cliff diving. What's your excuse?

*ahem* Anyway, yeah they lead you to believe something else in the movie. Not as much as they lead you on in movie ten, mind you. But they suggested somethings in the trailer- doctoring them up to make it look like something more serious was happening when it wasn't. But all in all, it was still thrilling. It got the blood pumping, I'll admit. I was very much on the edge of my seat for the last half an hour or so (when I finally figured out what was happening). So despite the slight altering on their part, the movie was still satisfying and enjoyable. I highly recommend it to those Detective Conan fans out there.

Angst day is here!

Except it's two in the morning and I haven't quite finished my angst day story. So instead of moaning and groaning about it, I'll just clip some of it for those who don't mind being spoiled and are in any way remotely interested in my Danny Phantom stuff.

“How do you know my name?”

The ghost girl smiled coyly. “I know a lot about you. Like how you’ve been a ghost hunter since you were ten. But academic wise you’ll be lucky if you make it through high school.”

Danny’s bewildered stare didn’t seem to deter the ghost from continuing. “You’ve got an unhealthy obsession with ghosts and have had it from childhood. You’re one of the best ghost hunters in the world, if you don’t count your girlfriend, Valerie Gray. Between the two of you, you’ve captured more than four hundred ghosts, not counting the ones you had to destroy out of concern for the safety of the public. You don’t think there’s a single ghost in the world that deserves to be here. You tell everyone that for the past eight years you’ve been searching for the ghost that murdered your father but secretly, the real ghost you’ve been searching for is the one that you are both hoping does and doesn’t exist,” The ghost girl smiled sweetly. “Am I leaving anything out?”

Danny swallowed hard. He did not wish for that. He only wanted to protect other families from suffering the same tragedy that his had to endure. Wishing for that ghost to exist would completely destroy everything he had been aiming to right in the world. But deep inside himself, Danny couldn’t deny the spark of hope that flared. That this ghost might know the ghost of his father.

“I was sent here to persuade you to come with me,” continued the ghost girl. “He told me that if I wandered around town long enough that you’d eventually show up. And here you are!”

It couldn’t be...

“Who? Who is he?”

“Uh uh. I can’t tell you that. He wants to greet you himself...”

Danny suddenly felt numb. Like he had been dumped underwater, where time couldn’t manage anything but a sluggish pace. His heart was pounding so loudly in ears, that he didn’t hear everything the little ghost girl had said. But he heard enough.

“It’s him, isn’t it?” said Danny, unable to hold back the tears that were choking him up. “My... my...”

He brushed his fingers over his trembling lips, raising them up to tangle in his hair- pressing knuckles hard against his hair line in a vain attempt restrain his emotions. There was a rush building up inside, threatening to burst out. And he was afraid. Afraid that he was right and that this was all a lie weaved by a sadistically clever ghost. And afraid that he was wrong. That his father remained in some form and would see Danny as he was now. See him gutted out and on display for someone who was now, without Danny’s own consent, irrevocably a stranger.

And that it would be his own fault. His father would not have changed. Only he, Danny, would have. Because...

Because... he lived. Lived at the expense- at the sacrifice of his own father. Lived because he ran away when he should have tried... tried to do something- anything. He lived when he should known that his father was just as fragile and mortal as he himself was. He lived because he didn’t know fathers could die.

He felt the cold touch at the crook of his arm. He looked up into the ghost’s face that... looked human with concern.

“I can take you to him.”

Angst day is coming!

And I'm actually planning a one-shot to write for it. I hope to get it finished in time. Actually in all honestly, it's not so much a one-shot as it is a clip from something that happens in the future of my story By Any Means.

The clip will Danny/Valerie while the rest of the story is very much Danny/Sam. It's a very depressing clip but has a huge spoiler so those of you who are keeping track of By Any Means, do not read Influence unless you want to be spoiled.

It is both part of the story and not part. I'm not sure how to fit it in, but it's something that happened during it's timeline. So I think it might come back again in the future. And when it does- that's when I'll remove Influence and put it back into my scrap section. Or maybe I rewrite it from a different point of view. We'll see when the time comes.

Until then, enjoy today's featured clip- from the next chapter of By Any Means which I hope to post sometime this week. But making no promises!

Also for those who weren't aware of it, I deleted chapter 4- Daniel's Trust of By Any Means. I felt it was too out of place and gave off too much information that I wasn't ready to give yet. So instead, that chapter is now in the scrap section. If you read it, don't worry- it's not too major of a spoiler. If you didn't, don't worry. You'll be informed of it later on when the moment calls for it.

“I’ll be able to keep this shield for only a few minutes longer. As soon as I drop it, you run back for the stairs. I’ll keep hot shot here busy. Just keep running and don’t look back.”

“But what about you?”

He rolled his eyes, as if her concern was laughable. “I’ll be fine. It’s not like I can die twice.”

Sam bit down hard on her bottom lip.

“Right. Sorry I asked.”

Asshole, She added bitterly.

The curved barrier flickered. Sam took a deep breath and got low- ready to break into a sprint. [...]

She felt his eyes on her and looked up. His arms were trembling and, though she tried to take his cold words to heart, he did appear to be in pain. [...] Her anger dissipated, and again she worried about leaving him. Even if he was a complete stranger... Even if he was a ghost...

“Daniel, Why...” said Sam, muscling through her own doubt. “Why are you doing this? I mean, isn’t she like you? Why... are you, a ghost, helping me against another ghost?”

He looked away, his brow furrowed. She thought that he might not answer. The barrier was thinning in the silence- the last green sparks flashing across its translucent surface.

“Don’t call me Daniel, okay?” he said at long last.

“Then... what should I call you?”

A thin smile slipped wryly across his lips. “You shouldn’t.”

Okay, while this may seem entirely silly, I found something on my hard drive while I was looking for my notes on future comics and I wanted you people's opinion on it.

Some people found Twilight Cracks offensive so I had to take it down. However, there was something else I wanted everyone's opinion on. While writing the above mentioned- I started to realize that some of things I came up were kinda funny. Sort of like how Shinga condensed the entire first book into a Twilight Abridged. So I thought- hey, maybe I can make that.

So I started fooling around. But in my sleep deprived mind, it really wasn't that funny. So I closed the document and decided not to continue with my caffinenee induced idea.

I found the document again. And I'll share what I had with you.

Chapter One: Party

Bella: I’m think I’m dreaming. After all the scenery is pretty weird. I mean... the sun is shining. When does that happen in Forks.

Gran: Hello ungrateful munchkin.

Bella: Oboe? I mean Grandma Marie? Haven’t you been dead for six years?

Gran: No such luck. I’m a zombie.

Bella: You look like a dried out apricot.

Gran: You look like brains.

Bella: Well that's highly unlikely.

Edward enters the dreams with sparkles attached. He waves. The sparkles wave with him.

Bella: Oh no! Edward! Now that she has seen your sparkles, Grandma will know your secret!

Gran: Holy shit. It’s a fairy.

Edward: No silly. It’s me. Your vampire boyfriend.

Gran: Oh right I forgot.

Gran and Edward snog. Bella wakes up screaming.

Bella: Wrinkles!

So my question for you all, do you think it's funny? Would you be interested in reading any of these sort of things in the future. If you would... I may start posting up some sort of weekly New Moon Abridged thing here in it's own box. Only if people are interested, though. I did giggle sort of reading it again. But I don't know if anyone else would find it funny.

Still working on those one shots for the people in question. It's my main priority at the moment to get those finished. But I have been entering a few contests on the side. Because the themes were just too tempting.

And I'm seriously thinking of entering =cordria's not yet completely announced contest as well. Why am I mentioning this? So that more people will enter these awesome contests. The prizes are really tantalizing. And the themes are just plain fun!

So if you can draw and you're interested- go for it!

In other news, I'm going in for an interview this Friday. Hopefully I'll get a job. But if not, oh well. I'll just keep looking. My job is out there somewhere. And I'm gonna find it.

I'm also thinking of taking a page out of =cordria's book, not literally. I'm thinking about book binding some of my older complete fanfics. Just for kicks really. Not to sell them, considering that would be illegal. But just to have something tangible on my bookshelf. Now the prices aren't bad. Once I get a more stable job, I'm considering doing so.

I can't sell these books. But I might send some signed copies to contest winners of the future (I'll probably include ones of the past as well, not to leave anyone out)- like their one-shot in book form. It really all depends on when I get a job, how reliable the book binding is. And how much shipping will cost me (and if anyone is even interested in it).

But these are just rambling thoughts. I'm all excited for =cordria and I can't wait to try it out myself.

Okay I just lost the whole entry that I had written out explaining the situation. So I'm not really in a mood to type it all back up in full. So I'll just shorten it.

The bad news is mostly bad for me. And not for you viewers. And in fact it might be better for you viewers since it means my free time will be back again.

I got fired.

Well actually I got laid off. Or rather they decided to not hire me permanently. I thought I had been doing pretty well, but that turns out that it was not the case. They thought I was too quiet and not assertive enough. Though I was being uncharacteristically assertive trying to impress them.

But it's not a complete failure. I called back the people who called me earlier for a job and told them I reconsidered their offer. They should call me back later for the date of the interview. Not exactly something I'm looking forward to. But it's something.

The big reasons for being laid off were the fact that I sat down too much. Although in my defense, I didn't realize that I was supposed to fake like there was something to do even when there was nothing to do. They didn't want us to ever sit down... ever. I'm wondering if this a thing with these jobs. Sitting down is not an option? So we're supposed to be robots that stand for eight, nine, or ten hours without break?

Maybe I'm just a wimp. It's not like I was sitting down when there were customers present.

The other reason was me being too quiet. They thought I was too nervous. But I thought I was being pretty brave. I always spoke to the customers. I always tried to help them and didn't shy away. But I wasn't as at ease with it. And I think they could tell. I'm not an extrovert. But I did put forth a huge effort.

And the last reason was that I had no previous work experience. So I already had that against me. They said they only went out on a limb to hire me because they liked me in my interview.

I'm glad that she was willing to try me out. But I hate the fact that I'm constantly discriminated against because I haven't worked before. It's like a giant sign floating over my head that tells people not to hire me.

But enough defending myself to you all. I'm sure you don't really care. The good news is that I have other options. Options that might actually provide health care, periods in which I can sit, and lunch breaks (in my last job, I wasn't allowed to break for lunch- period, which was kinda mean in itself).

I don't know the complete schedule yet at my new job but I'm assuming that I'll be working weekends. Which means I might have to change my weekly comics to some other time of the week. Maybe Wednesdays or something. We'll see.

I got a call back from another job. I hate to tell them no but if they really wanted to hire me they should have called me when I first applied. Now I have a job- and I don't want to work two jobs at the same time. It's tiring enough working part time at the bakery.

In book related news, I received a whole bunch of books over the holiday weekend that I've been reading. The last in the Percy Jackson series was one that I read most earnestly. I was mostly satisfied with it. Though I was hoping for a bit more thrill than what we got. It made sense how it ended though- and I figured that's what counted.

So I give Percy Jackson, The Last Olympian

I decided to read Ever since it was the same author who did Ella Enchanted, a childhood favorite of mine. However I was quite disappointed with it. It seemed very flat- reminded me a lot of the romance in Twilight except not so abusive. A flat baseless romance that didn't convince me was real. Much of it just didn't keep me hooked and I feel like I was forcing myself to meddle through the thing.

And it was a lot of telling without showing. I wonder if this is a sort of habit with people who write in first person. The whole story went way too fast and I never felt like I got to like the characters.

That's why I have to give Ever
/ 2.5 out of 5 stars

Last and least, I finished reading New Moon. It really shouldn't be any surprise that I'm going to rate this low. And I won't get into a really long debate over why I'm going to rate it so low. I'll just say this, too much telling. The characters are unbelievable and have a tendency to mood swing without warning. The plot is un-involving. And the messages the book sends out are appalling (ie. suicide is a good thing, don't ever move on when your boyfriend dumps you, undermining your parents' authority is A-OK, hearing voices is normal, dangerous boyfriends are much better than safe ones).

I give New Moon
/ 1.5 out of 5 stars

That's actually one higher than I would have rated Twilight. Mostly because the book is written with a bit more thought than hormones this time around. Friday's comic will have to be pushed back this week too. This time because I finally, at long last, got a call back from a place that I applied to for a job. Without even realizing it, they interviewed me on the phone. I hadn't even been able to prepare myself. But it worked out well, since the boss was very friendly and hired me on the spot.

Now, this isn't official and I wasn't able to get full-time (which frankly doesn't bother me so long as I have a job). I go in for job training tomorrow. After my training is up, they'll decide then if they want to either promote me or not- or not hire me at all. I'm hoping I make as good as an impression I do in training as I did through interviewing.

Okay okay, I know I said I wouldn't do another contest until the contest winners from the previous contest got their prizes finished. But I also realized how long it took for people to get something ready for a contest that was over the summer.

I decided I need to set a much further away deadline so that more contestants could enter.



This new contest theme is Pokeshippy set to Music

Yup, you heard me. Music. Five music tracks to be exact.

It can be funny, serious, sad, romantic- whatever the song inspires you to draw. I tried to be diverse in my track selection so that everyone could have a good choice to draw from.

The rules are--

The fan art must be inspired by one of the five pre-selected songs and it has to be apparent. Meaning without being told, I should be able to guess which song you drew from. I might be a little lenient with this rule if it proves difficult, but we'll see.

The fanart must have either Ash or Misty in it and it must be at least implied pokeshippy. However, other pokemon characters can be included should there be a need. (i.e. Gary kissing Misty making Ash sad or Brock posing along with Ash and Misty... etc.)

This isn't so much a rule as it is a suggestion, as there is no way for me to make sure you uphold it. I suggest that you all listen the audio only. Don't watch the music video as that will probably influence you subconsciously. At least it does that to me when I watch music videos. Listen to the words and be inspired!

Be creative! I want to see what these songs bring to mind. Don't just do a generic picture that could mean anything- really get creative with it.

Sorry about the long pause between comics guys. I've been busy trying hitting all the stores in the area trying to find job openings. I haven't really had all that much luck. As of today, I have two new possibilities that might actually be hiring someone like me.

Apparently not a lot of places feel like hiring college students because we're overqualified- or they assume we are just going to use the job as a stepping stone and leave in a few months. So they just don't hire us. Kinda makes you feel like going to college was just a stupid waste of effort, time and money. I'm hoping, however, that that really isn't the case.

Anyway, I'm going to try to get a comic up tomorrow... possibly. Don't quote me on that. If not tomorrow then Sunday. Until then, stay tuned. And thanks for all the support.

Sorry about there not being a comic last friday, people. I've been ripping out my closet (which is actually very interesting, finding a lot of stuff from my childhood- i might take pictures) and hanging out with sister in an attempt to spend as much time with her as possible before she leaves me for college. Yet again, I wish I could still be in school. I have to get a job quick so I can start saving up for my masters! I feel so lost when I'm not learning.

Maybe I need to take writing classes to tide myself over in the mean time. Luckily there IS a art center near my house that just started creative writing classes. Maybe I'll do that sometime when I have money again. Ten weeks for 100 bucks isn't too bad. And I'll be taking Tai Chi there this coming fall.

Anything to get back to my high school weight again. College is evil in that sense.

Anyway, I went off on a huge tangent. What I meant to get on here to say was that I'm sorry for not posting the comic on time. And I probably won't post one until I get ~missmybcmiyuki's and possibly *MiyaToriaka's requests done. Both of which have been pretty much planned out- one nearly completely written.

~MirakuruNaito and ~Poochyenapuppy I still need to know what you would like. And I'll get to yours ~Pikapikachu2 when I'm able. I'm just not in a drawing mood yet, so I want to make sure I'm in a good mood before I try to tackle it.

I probably won't host another contest until all of these requests are done. I think it's more fair to the winners of this contest and to the future participants if I just try to tackle one thing at a time.

I'm too tired to keep working on it tonight. But here's a sneak peak at ~missmybcmiyuki's request. Her doujinshi [link] Hold On in fiction form.

“He held up his hand, watching the street lights come on through his fingertips.

“I guess I didn’t make it,” said Ash humorlessly.

But what about Misty. What had happened to her?

As a ghost, he wasn’t bound by walls or hospital staff. He could come and go as he pleased. As soon as he started going.

Ash rocked himself to and fro in the air, trying to remember what it had been like to fly at ten years old. He flung his arms forward and tried to dive into the air but ended up more dog paddling than flying.

Shouldn’t it have been easy? He remembered it being a lot more effortless.

And as soon as that thought came to mind, Ash plummeted ten stories.

For a moment, Ash forgot that you couldn’t die twice. He screamed. And then, upon his realization, he stopped all together. He hung eagle spread in mid air- breathing heavily though he didn’t quite know how, lacking a physical body as he was.

That was scarier than my death actually.

Ash somehow managed to upright himself. And in doing so, changed his halt into a slow free fall. His toes were nearly an inch off the ground and when opted for movement of the horizontal variety.

Giving up on the swimming strokes that he had applied before, Ash willed himself forward. The speed in which he moved was near instantaneous. He was halfway across town with just a thought. Except that he had no idea where to start.

Ash surveyed the surroundings, which were fairly unfamiliar before shooting himself back to the gym. The remains of what used to be Misty’s home, stuck out of the ground like the ribs of a gutted carcass. The flames had long since died. It was empty aside from soot and debris. And in the mess of the skeletal remains, Ash supposed laid what was left of his body.

“I always knew I’d die in a fire,” said Ash with morbid amusement.
