Reviews in a nutshell: 4 Christmases and Day the Earth Stood Still

4 Christmases: Pretty funny, but the PG-13 rating gave the movie makers to go a bit to far with the jokes, making it to lewd for a Christmas movie. Despite the humor, it will not be making the Christmas Classic List.

Day the Earth Stood Still: Um...it's really hard to say anything good about the movie that doesn't involve special effects or mentioning Keanu was the perfect cast for an alien. To many cliches and just things that didn't make sense story wise. Not recommended.

SONIC!

My reason is very simple. Other players my drive the excuse that he's high tier. But ultimatly, that reasion is crap, because you can kick ass with anyone if you know how to play them correctly, it shouldn't matter what rank they are. No, I'm playing as Sonic because, I like Sonic. I will experiment with others, but Sonic shall be my main.

BioShock - Played through it...It's still pretty damn lame.

I'm still trying new things, such as the new style of painting I'm doing. I also need to get to work on atleast one model in 3d, just for the sake of doing a model in 3d.

Bioshock is that brand new game that was hammered into our psyches over the past month or so with the little girl and the big robot. My brother actually borrowed it from a friend, and he didn't care much for it, calling it lame. So, instead of just taking his word for it, I decided to play it. I've played it twice for several hours and I can say this game is pretty bad.

As far as pros go, it is set in a unique environment, an underwater city in the art deco period. It also picks up almost right away, about 5 minutes, so, it does better then some games at throwing you right into the action. There is also fairly good use of environments and weapons, but that's about all that's good about it.

The bad news, well, the gameplay is kinda lame. You basically fight insane people and eventually, you get superpowers. It sounds good, but the way the commericals put it, it makes it seem that you're a normal person in this extrodinary circumstances, but upon a few minutes later into the game, you get special powers. It would make this game worth while if these powers were good through out the entire game, but after the first hour, these powers are pretty much useless and you might as well stick to regular weapons. As mood goes, this is almost an equivalent to a flat 2d work of a mood piece, that it just makes a creepy dark mood, but that also brings in another problem. This problem is that this game doesn't quite know what it wants to be. It doesn't know if it wants to be a FPS like Unreal tournament or a survival thriller like Resident Evil. Then it throws in RPG elements to further this problem. It's also graphically confused, it tried to be realistically done, but it also has noticable elements of cel shading in it. On top of all this, the game isn't hard, it is just frustrating, as in there is no penalty for dying, you just get sent back a ways back to a vita-chamber to redo a section of the level again. It not bad if you die a few times, but enemies respawn and this can get frustrating.


Overall, this game is really lackluster and not really worth the price. This might be something good outta the bargin bin, but don't buy it at $60, it will make you mad.

Subject Matter:
My only real requirement, is that it has atleast one of my characters in it. Other than that, it is really open ended. It could me one of my people in cosplay, grouped with your characters, it doesn't really matter to me, just aslong as there are no policy violations. So, have some fun.

When it all due?
I can understand that people are busy, so, I'll give you plenty of time, and by time, I mean near the end of November, no solid date yet, but still plenty of time.

What will I get for my troubles?
For entering the contest, you'll get at the least, a pencil drawing request. If I can, I'll try a color rendering, it really depends on if I can find the time, hopefully since this tough quarter is ending soon, I am more able to colored works. But I will attempt to do what I can for you enteries.

Punisher:War Zone....RUINED

I am a big fan of the 2004 remdition of the Punisher. Thomas Jane brought good ol' Frank to life. But now, there are big problems. Biggest problem, Thomas Jane won't repraise the role. What the fuck? Once that was said, they should have just stopped production, cause it won't be the same. But no, they get Ray Stevenson to be Frank. He kinda looks the part, just no where near as good as Tom. And he's British. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate british people, but Frank isn't British. Pure and Simple. Will I go see it? Chances are, I probably end up seeing it...and being horribly disappointed.

Choronicles of Zoran
I've decided to stick with Chronociles of Zoran, develope that more since I got the Outkasts(Probably will be renamed to the Renagades for legal purposes)down. I'll be putting up pencil works for it, and The ZC has its own unofficial official theme song. This song is the Land of Confusion performed by Disturbed. That song fits the story so well.

This was simlpy awesome. The fights were spectacular, and the characters were acted very well. Things moved along well and character developement and change were great. The newly introduced characters (Sandman, Eddie Brock, ect..) were introduced well, even with the short amount of time that they appeared in each scene. It also wasn't to long, about 2 hours, so there isn't a whole lot of unnessesary details. And Tobey McGuire, makes an excellent prick.

On the down side, the movie dragged it's feet in a few spots, mostly in the spots with Aunt May. Venom should of gotten a bit more time on the screen fighting Spider-man, because the amount of time just wasn't enough. Hell, if the whole movie was just based on their rivallry, that would be sweet. There was also a fourth villain that no one bothered to mention, and that was Mary-Jane. She was basically Super-Bitch in this movie, just getting jealous and nasty for almost no reason.

Although I'm not a Spider-man guy, I still recommend this movie. Pretty highly too. Not as much as the Turtles though.

The CGI is absolutely gorgeous, some of the best in recent memory. It really pulls off the mix of a cartoony world while using hyper real textures. The effects were also amazingly pulled of and some of the best CGI fighting possibly in the buisness today. It also is supurb in finally playing the fight that we all been expecting for the past 20 years, Rapheal vs Leonardo, which was simply supurb.

The only real downside to the movie was that it was short, about an hour and a half. But this is also a good thing, in where there is no unessesary dialouge. All the dialouge was either for character developement, advancing the plot, or to make a joke(which you don't need to be 3 to laugh at). Mako, God bless his soul, also made his last performance as Splinter, which he fitted the role very well.

Overall, if you want to go see a good movie that doesn't take long to entertain, this is it.
