Life's been crazy but I passed my road test today and I am almost settled intot he new place, just got a few more things to haul over then I can begin my life as an independent adult and start my career. Wish me luck!

Hello everyone, I finally received a call from Katie Sicko from the Housing Authority, as well as another call from Norine Jones from Catholic Charities, and it seems nothing I say or do can convince them to let me stay here a little longer. In fact, my two-month period includes June, even though my mom was still alive until June 11th. So I was told by Miss Sicko that I have to be out by the end of July. She even asked me if I started packing yet. So I lose my mom, I'm losing my home, and my pets. This is in no way fair but I am not going to give up fighting for whatever rights I may have in this matter. There are a few people in the Terrace living in 2 and 3 bedroom apartments alone, so if they want me out, they're going to have to evict all of the people in my situation. I should not be singled out if there are others who are in the same boat. So that's the scoop, and again thank you all for keeping in touch, sending cards, money, giving me advice, the phonecalls of support, and everything else. I wouldn't be able to get through any of this if it wasn't for all of you. And thank you Joan and Dick too, so much, I can't thank you two enough for the donation. I wish I could do more to show my gratitude to everyone. When I am settled down I will write up thank you cards and even try to do some artwork to honor everyone who has helped me.

All I need now is a lot of cardboard boxes to pack... I need someone to take my two cats, Ginseng, 15 year old female neutered siamese, Babette, 5 year old neutered siamese mix, and my neighbor Diane is willing to take Okie Dokie, my precious dog. As for my fish... I have a pleco fish that is 16 years old and a lot of other fish that are about 5-6 years old, and very large and beautiful. I don't have time to sell anything so if anyone is willing to care for my fish for me until I can find a place that takes pets, let me know. The care of the cats and dog is also temporary until I can afford to move to a place that allows pets, and I will be sending anyone who volunteers money for all pet expenses, food, flea medicine, cat litter, etc. My phone number is (518) 306-4229. Also I have a lot of stuff here I can't take with me, furniture, antiques that might be worth something, and all kinds of stuff. If anyone wants stuff, please take it... cause otherwise I will have to donate as much as I can, and worst case scenario it's going out to the dumpster. This is all I can do for now so if anyone can help please call or e-mail me. Thank you and God Bless!

P.S. If anyone has room and wants me to move in, I'll go for it... I know this sounds ridiculous but I am a very clean, responsible person, I can cook, I do lots of chores, and I will get a job and pay rent etc. Essentially, if someone wants to adopt me until I can get on my feet, I would be much obliged... cause I really don't want to live in Stonequist. =.=;;;

Sincerely,
Emily Cammisa

June 22th, 2009

Hello everyone, I feel I need to write a e-mail to let you all know what's cooking here since my mom passed away. Firstly I want to thank all of you for your kindness and support during this sad time of my life, I want to thank those of you who sent flowers for the funeral ceremony, those of you who sent me money to help with my living expenses, and all of the sympathy cards, letters, and prayers. I will write to you all and answer your individual e-mails in time but right now my life is full of turmoil, which is the next topic I want to cover.

I just received a phone call from Norine, a nice lady who works for Catholic Charities. She spoke to Ed, the main housing guy, and he said that he'll give me two months before making me move to Stonequ...

On April 4th, my day was going well, I got an Asian Studies Minor and was feeling good, then I returned to my dorm to see a IM of distress from my mom saying that my dad threatened her life and she'd tell me everything in full detail later. I found out through my boyfriend everything that happened, and apparantly my dad physically assaulted my mom. It started out as a argument over my dad using the phone all day long, causing my mom to miss important calls from doctors ect. His friend from Staten Island called and she picked up and told him that he shouldn't be talking with my dad all day, that she was missing important calls, and rightfully so she was angry at both of them since they talk all night long and keep her awake, when she has cancer and she needs her rest. Turns out my dad was on the other line and heard her telling his friend off and then he started to scream at her, followed by coming downstairs to menace her. She tried to call the police on him and managed to make it intot he kitchen, where he proceeded to grab her in a chokehold from behind and pull her head back, injuring her neck. In a panic my mom put her hands around his throat in self-defense, but was too weak to do any harm. He threatened that if she got the police involved he would "see too it that the cancer was not going to cause her death" but that he would kill her. Somehow the fight ended, my mom managed to get out of the house to get her radiation treatment, and afterwards took refuge at my brother's house. I tried to go to my college's counseling center for immediate help and the woman there seemed rather uncaring and set an appointment for me that was a good 4 hours off, and I didn't have 4 hours to spare. So I did the next best thing I could think of and I went to the HEOP office and there I finally got help. They were all shocked to hear that my dad could be so wretched as to attack a woman with cancer in her brain who might not have long to live. One of their memebers took me to see her and my mom cried, the pain fresh in her mind. She told us everything and she was afraid to go home because he was still there. Soon he came over to my brother's and outside my brother confronted him, and of course my dad made himself sound like a poor victim, and that he'd get my mom arrested for trying to choke him. Soon he made arrangements to go to Statent Island to stay with his friends and then come back up here and take as much time as he wanted to find another place to live. It took all day for my mom to overcome her fear of getting the police involved. She came to my dorm room and stayed with me, and by 10:30PM she finally called the police. They came here and we told them everything and the end result was that my dad had a friend drive all the way up here to get him, so now he's in Staten Island, we have his house key, he's no longer allowed on the property, and if he comes back up there will be a warrant for his arrest. So the past few days my mom has been overcoming this trauma, and my friend Veronica and I took it upon ourselves to pack my dad's things, clean out his filthy tobacco infested bedroom and restore some peace to our home. I am now back at college, behind on my work but glad that my mom is safe and the black cloud has been lifted from our home. I only have 4 weeks to go before I graduate, so I hope and pray that nothing else rocks the boat from here on out. I pray they can get rid of my mom's cancer and buy her more time, and that I can do everything I need to do to get out of college and get on my own two feet. So thank you all for reading this and for your care, sometimes life gives you lemons, so I am going to make lemonade ^^

March 30th, 2008

Konnichiwa minna... I'm just writing this journal entry to let you all know that I received devastating news last night. Some of you already know that my mom was diagnosed with lung cancer last February, and has had breast cancer 8 years prior. We thought and hoped with all our hearts that they cured her, and for her past few scans all was clear. However I just found out she's been in the hospital for the past two days because they discovered she has six cancero...

Now that I have my bachelor's degree I am on the fence about getting a masters in art. But right after college I want to try my hand at free lancing and looking around for odd art jobs ^^

Type of Artist: I do everything except fabric/fiber related art. My gallery has everything from oil paintings, mixed media drawings, digital art, photography, writing, and jewelry/metal work to name a few. My main passion, however, is anime style art, fanart, and fanfiction.

______________________________________

My Biography

Well, from the time I was two, literally, I loved to draw. I used to draw on the walls, the floors, in my mom's expensive medical books, anything I could write on with crayons I did. My mom, having come from a rather artistic family, saw that I had potential and so she encouraged me to keep drawing. She would tape paper onto the wall to prevent me from ruining the paint job, yet allowed me to be creative and express my natural impulse to draw.

As I got older I became enamored with Disney movies and cartoons, so I began drawing cartoony characters or fanart early on. I even illustrated all of The Lion King when I was about six or seven years old, filling up an entire spiral bound notebook cover to cover. There was never a day that I didn't draw, and that carried on all the way until I got to college. When I was eight I saw a show called Sailor Moon for the first time, not knowing it was of a genre called anime. All I knew is I loved the style. It was so different from anything I had ever seen. I immediately started drawing the characters from Sailor Moon, perplexed by their large detailed eyes and incredible outfits. I continued drawing anime style, as well as my own doodles, for years to come until I finally nailed the style. By age 17 to now I think I have perfected drawing anime, it comes naturally and easily.

However, I have also grown to realize that I should not limit myself to anime. From taking a lot of art classes throughout high school and into college, I realize I am capable of so much more. I have been trying to find my niche as an artist and find what I am truly passionate about. I still wind up falling back to anime, but as of 2005 and this year I have been trying to create my own style that is a combination of anime and realism. I'm not going for American comic style, that never impressed me much, but I do seek to achieve a beautiful elegant style that is unique to me. I know that almost everything has been done and sometimes I feel like my work looks like everyone else's, but I won't stop trying to improve.

As the saying goes, I am really my own harshest critic. I may be satisfied with a piece of work, but I can look at it an hour later and find tons of flaws in it and wind up disappointed or trying to fix it. I also see art of others who are thousands of times more skilled than I. I wish I could draw and paint as well as they can, and that my work too can be of such high quality. The most time I ever spent on a piece of art is about 28-30 hours. These people spend months sometimes on one piece, and I feel that is the secret to success. I need to try to stay with it longer and work my art up to that level of detail. I'm so used to finishing a piece in 3 hours or less, I've always worked fast. I also know that backgrounds are a major weakness of mine. Sometimes I have a hard time creating a good composition. I struggle with certain mediums like oils and acrylics, even charcoal. I have a long way to go as an artist.
...

Make sure your message has all the information on the pic you want, such as size, medium(s), and overall subject you want me to create. Please be as specific as possible! If you want me to draw an original character I need to have an idea of how it would look, if it's a fanart of real movie, novel, comic, or tv series characters, I may not have seen them before, so please send me reference pictures/drawings if you can. Reference pictures make the process much faster and easier.

Example 1: "I would like you to do a watercolor painting for me on 9"x11" watercolor paper. I want a painting of Naruto attacking Sasuke..." (ect.) "If you do not know who these characters are, here is a link with pictures of them [Link]."

Example 2: "Could you please do a fanart of my original character sitting under a tree looking sad? He/she/it looks like (go into a very detailed description and provide your own drawings of the character if you have them)" and specify the medium; "I would like it digitally made."

Prices will depend on time, effort, cost of materials, and shipping costs. I expect a minimum of $10.00 per hour of work, so if I work 5 hours, that's $50.00 for time spent. Cost of materials will also raise the price. I can't always estimate how long a project will take, but I will try to give you a good estimate based on the project so you know about how much it may cost.

Example & Estimate of Commission Cost: A full color digital/traditional commission for three characters with a background.

The first character would take about an hour to do the sketch lineart, another hour for cleanup, another hour or two for coloring (This all varies on the character's complexity but on average this is the time it takes me). The following characters would take just as much time, so we're at about 12 hours of work, $120. Then the background alone can take anywhere from 2-...
