I should be studying.

I had a very disturbing encounter this afternoon. I'm sure all of you are aware of internet predators, and I think I spoke to one today. However, it wasn't in a chatroom, it was on my phone!

I got a 'harmless' text message from some random, saying "its maverick, call me back im in bc". Thinking nothing of it, i messaged him back, saying that he got the wrong number. He asked if I was 'Natalie', and I said 'nope, sorry.' I thought it would end there, but he began asking me some suspicious questions, like "how old are you? where do you live? can I have your email?".

I wanted to know if this guy was for real or not, so my answers to these questions weren't true, or they were exceedingly vague, like "I'm old enough". I got increasingly suspicious when he said I might know him, and when I told him I don't know any 'Maverick's, he immediately replied: "oh, my real names Josh..." or something like that. He told me he was 27, but then said things like "I think its cool how we met, and I think we should be friends, give me your email". It may be something totally harmless, but I have no idea who this guy is, why would I want to be friends with him?

I just thought this is something everyone should be aware of, because it never occured to me that someone might prey on another person over text messages until today... I hope text messaging isn't going to be the next catalyst for sexual assault.

In any case, yaks are scary.

I almost voided my bowels on two separate occasions today...

1. Finally got my car today when I got home and saw it in the driveway I almost died! 2007 Hyundai Sonata... i'm in love. I could just sit in it all day absorbing the new-car-smell.

2. Still had to take GO bus to school though. As we drive past some farm, I'm looking at the horses and laughing because they had these jackets on (it was REALLY cold today). I didn't realize they made jackets for horses... anyway, the bus goes by the next pasture and there's this THING! I actually said "what the hell is THAT!?!?" loud enough for the guy next to me to burst out laughing. I was scared shit-less 'cause I've never seen such a weird looking animal before. Well I'm sure I'll have nightmares, and I'm also pretty sure it was a yak. [link] looked like this, but golden-brown and not as shaggy (someone could have trimmed its fur or something.) or maybe it looked more like this guy [link]

In any case, yaks are scary.
