Most of you on my flist don't really know my original characters personally. Small wonder, I don't really write much for them beyond RPing, though I really should. To remedy this to some small degree and give you a small introduction to the madness, I propose this:

Give me a bit of inspiration. A picture, a poem, a summary of a story, some words you'd like it themed on, etc. I'll write a story of whatever length I deem worthy with whichever characters come to mind for that theme. I'll even post a separate bit about the characters involved as an introduction. I'm only writing for original characters. I shall be writing just random thoughts on my four main characters from Behind the Tick and the Tock. We're going in alphabetical order, so I guess that would make Chach Baron first whether we go by first name or last name.

Chach Baron. The Punk Price of the Switchblade, unspoken Heir to the Madness. The Strong Right Hand of the Darkness. In other words: The Bad Guy.

Chach is - to put it bluntly - insane. He's Billy Idol, if Billy Idol's arrogance, charisma and attitude was added to the impulsive violence of Darth Vader. He's the kid you knew in school who would be the nastiest, most viscous bully until you called in the reinforcements - then it was on with the halo, blink the baby blues.

He's a demon in angel's form, with the demon trying to break out. And the Billy Idol thing? Merely a coincidence. I didn't know what the man looked like until a friend of mine started calling Chach "Billy Idol's Kid Brother." Yahoo was consulted, making me go thusly: "o__o". I like that coincidence, for once.

Chach started out as merely a punk. He was a yes man thug who didn't do much of anything at all. Isn't that funny? One day, I just sat here staring at the screen - no words were coming, the mental block was about the size of a volkswagon. And next thing I know, I've typed this little thing...“You’ll never guess what happened.”

More electrical tape was wrapped around, tightening his arm to the pipe. “W-w-what?”

The fear was getting stronger; Chach’s calmness…he’d never been this quiet before, and especially not for this long. Chach used a box-cutter to neatly trim the tape, still speaking calmly.

"Wait. What is this?" I ask my computer. "This isn't Chach, Chach is crazy, but he's not a murderer...and he's never calm. What. Is. This?"

This, that little part of me I like to call the 'author' part says, This is Something Big. Almost like he's talking, I hear Chach.

"Just let me do his one thing," that voice that I created in that little-author-part says, smooth as ever.

"Dude. You're a secondary character. What are you doing?"

"Trust me. One little thing. One little, bitty, tiny thing. You let me do that, I won't ever be a bit player again."

I'm a writing n00b. Only been bothering to try for the last five years. But I can most of the time tell when I should just go with where the story seems to be going - you can always edit later...

Next thing I know, another character's gone and Chach is skipping his merry way deeper and deeper into this story.

Why does he exist? To serve They. Why? Because They will give him what he wants. What's that? Smallcreep, dead. Misplaced jealousy, left to rot and spread like a disease for fifteen years, never told jealousy is wrong, or that - occasionally, you can't always get what you want.

His relationship with Russel is one of the things I am most proud of in this story - Chach sees the older man as a protector, someone to be protected, a brother, a rival, an enemy and a best friend, simultaniously. It's something deeper than romance, yet more shallow, platonic but closer than brothers. He could - and would - kill Russel if Russel said the wrong thing, but - at the same time - any threat to Russel will find itsself rapidly missing parts vital to living. And Russel dying would be followed almost instantly by Chach dying. His twisted form of loyalty is one of his few good traits.

He often runs the risk of spiraling out of control, running roughshod through my story. That's usually a good sign that I need to step back and play with the Squonk. So the Squonk serves his purposes, both in-story and out-of-story. He protects 'Creep.

All my characters have an artist and an era. Chach is the bad parts of the 80s: fast paced, selfish and spoiled. The music that best fits him is Billy Idol.

And that's about it for now. I may come back and edit these later. I dunno.

I turn 20 on Sunday. I guess that's tomorrow now. Why am I so excited and scared? It's just another birthday - I've had 19. Unlike 13, 16, 18 and 21, 20 has no greater significance attached to it, other than leaving the teenage years forever...maybe that's it, though. Maybe it's the fact that I can't fall back on the "I'm technically still a kid!" excuse...ever again...man, that's overwhelming. Yet exciting. Basically this little section here is "Last year five non-family people knew it was my birthday. Pay attention to me." Feel free to ignore it, I'll be gleeful about this birthday again in about ten seconds.

My computer has locked me out of MS Word right now; so I haven't been working on Smallcreep like I wanted to this week. However, I did finish most of a bio for Smokesound (as mentioned above), and a VI character Shasta K. Havasu. Tomorrow, I will be phoning Microsoft and yelling at them about Word. I'm also trolling *ioyousbook's gallery for pictures of Bean, for more than one reason. Julie, I still dunno what you want for a prize...and same with you, Steph! Chop chop!

Yes! Of what, may you ask? Smallcreep characters, of course!

For those of you less in the know, Smallcreep is a project of mine ([link]). It might be steampunk, it might be alternate history, it might be Gulliver's Travels esque, in some parts.

Basically, it's about a young man (Smallcreep) who lives in a subterrainian world called Under and Up as a mechanic for a huge machine. His grandfather did something "very bad" by the standerds of They That Watch (the psuedo-government). He Ran away from his job, trying to see what else there was in the tunnels.

Because his gradda apologized for it - and came back, more importantly, spouting the lie that there ws nothing out there - he was allowed to return without badness occuring...for him. But someone forgot to inform the workcrew of Chach and Russel. Too young to even remember when Grandda ran, they take it out on his grandson none the less, in the belief that Runners are genetic.

Finally; 15 years after his grandfather ran, 'Creep has had just about enough of this, and runs himself. But what he finds is shocking; even though he knew his grandfather was lying about Nothing Changes...he didn't know he was lying this much...

Anywho! Now you, yes you! Can draw characters from my story, much like I have!

Guidelines
Keep it PG or PG13, please. That shouldn't be hard; I can't imagine anyone reading this to do anything else, really, but it's worth saying in case of rambling contest joiners.

Any medium is good; heck, I'd be pleased if someone drew characters on the sidewalk in chalk. Hee.

Character interaction is good. Characters placed in random settings are also good.

I've been so lonely the last week. I know I have friends, but...sometimes it's hard to see.

In a friendship, you're supposed to share things, right? Things like hopes, dreams, fears, worries? I know this is the case, and thus I try to be a friend by listening. Anyone at work got a problem? They (most of the time) come to me, not because I'm necessarily helpful, but because I listen. I try to think of ways to help them, I try to encourage them, at the very least I try to make them laugh...

But a friendship also has to be mutual. If I'm giving, then for a friendship to be truly valid, every now and then I have to be the one getting, every now and then, right?

So why, when it's my turn to ramble or rant, do they leave? They find excuses to be elsewhere, to talk to other people, or to just stand there, eyes practically glazing over as they ignore almost every word I say.

Or they stand there, me in the background, and talk about their parties; the fun get togethers they have...none of which I've ever been invited to.

I know I'm a wildcard. I'm older than the high school kids (and some of the college kids!) at work, and thus I am out of their group, but I still live at home, still "can't drink" and still get rides from my mom, yet am not currently going to college. So I am out of the 'adult' group and the 'college kids' group.

I moved here senior year, so it makes sense that these people are going to know each other, prefer to hang out with each other more than me, I know this mentally, logically, but it still hurts.

With the exception of Heather and Steph, I don't think a single person (who's not a relative, anyway) in this town would miss me if I moved.

I try to make up for the wallflower tendancies forced upon my extroverted personality be being uberhyper and uberfriendly online, and I think it works better online, judging by the fact that you cats listen to me better than my coworkers (especially you, Joc, and you, Kelso) but then it becomes like a popularity contest again. I want to be noticed for something more than being friendly. I saw "Signs" last night, and while it was INFINETLY BETTER than "The Village," (mostly because it didn't go "OMZ TWIST ENDI - o oops twist broke the movie, >>" It still...yeah. My current obsession, the story of a young man living his life as a pariah for something his grandfather did, and his subsequent rebellion. Could possibly be called Steampunk, could possibly be referred to as a modern (or postmodern? Alternate history? Who knows!) Gulliver's Travels. My other biggest writing project, an Alternate Past series of stories for The Who, werein John Entwistle is a force for Great Good in the universe and will eventually be this superhero type fellow (sans spandex or funky costuming, plus sword), even though it's only at one story thus far. Example:

An alternate future! The year is 2394, and the entire world is at war. The main weaponry? Clones. Not mass produced soldiers, no, but clones of the greatest minds in warfare, Napoleon, Churchill and the likes. The major countries all have their tacticians...but what about the un-major? Who fights for the little guys? What will happen when one mad scientist, and one overworked president of the Only Free Country On Earth get their hands on some...very unfightworthy DNA? Only a revolution...Long before all of us crazy soldiers who were born under calico skies, may we never be called to handle all the weapons of war we dispise...[not started yet, but something I am madly looking forward to starting. May be a summer project.]

Most of you on my flist don't really know my original characters personally. Small wonder, I don't really write much for them beyond RPing, though I really should. To remedy this to some small degree and give you a small introduction to the madness, I propose this:
