Hey everybody,

Due to a few circumstances in my personal life, I've decided to take a break from drawing. Don't worry, I haven't given up on art completely. I just don't feel any motivation to draw and I don't see having any in the near future. So, I'm not going to be posting any new art for, at least, a few months and I'll probably get back to work on [Sketchpad] when I return (and you all thought I'd forgotten about it). No, this isn't yet another time where I said I'd do a comic and then back out. Quite the opposite. See, I was trying to come up with some story ideas and well, I'm having a little bit of trouble in that department. I have a few ideas right now but I have a set number of stories I want fleshed out before I start and I'm far from that number. So, if you're a talented writer or can come up with some cool ideas, leave a comment. Since I don't have a membership, I can't make a poll so this journal entry will have to do. Ok, so it's decided. I'm for sure going to start a webcomic. However, I can't decide on an idea. I have three stories I want to tell and since I'm one indecisive person, I'll leave it up to the viewers. Here are your options to choose from.

The Unfamous 5
A remake of an old, very badly drawn comic series I did in middle school with some friends. The story revolves around a ragtag group of superheroes; Super Bunny, Improb Bob, Pipi the Funky Poodle-Monkey, Mr. Lightning and Psycho-Boy. Together, the dysfunctional team must ban together in an effort to protect their city from an evil mastermind, a giant afro-robot, a weather controlling wizard, etc. You get the point!

This story is more humor based.

[Sketchpad]
JD was just a normal high school kid until he happened upon a magic drawing book. Out of nowhere, the book sucks JD into an alternate world where all his drawings have come to life. Together with his new toon friends, JD must learn to balance his mundane life in the real world and his exciting life in the toon world fighting off villains who want to take over Toon World.

This one is a good mix of action and comedy.

Gene and Jerry's Magical Lemonade Stand
The is the story of Gene and his best pal, Jerry living their normal, boring life in Suburbantown until one day, a robot escapes his government creators and decides to become roomates with the guys. Gene, Jerry, Lorenzo the robot and Gene's girlfriend Holly must now defend their hometown from the government's onslaught of supervillains and monsters.

This one is also a good mix of action and comedy but with a different sense of humor.

So there you go. A short explanation of my ideas. Please comment on which idea you'd like to see be made. I'll give you all till Wednesday September 16th to decide. After that, whichever idea has the most votes will be made into a comic. Get to it!

Well, to no surprise, I didn't get the money I needed for college. So, looks like I'll be hanging around here for a little while longer. Fortunately, my admissions councilor was able to work things out so that if I can get the money by December, I can start in the winter. I'll be a quarter behind everyone else but at least I won't be stuck in community college.

Since I'll have a hell of a lot of free for the next few months, I'm gonna really try to get some stuff done. Finish up all the art trades, maybe get back to doing the Ani-Girls (does anyone actually miss those?) and hell, maybe actually stick with a comic idea and do it. Who knows. Need to find a new job and woman too.

Got a PSP recently and of course, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days comes out at the end of the month so at least I've got some stuff to keep me out of depression.

The following is a rant-esque writing. As the title suggests, feel free to ignore this journal. I just needed to write this down somewhere and I don't have a blog.

So, as I sit here listening to AltNation (it's a satellite radio channel that I've grown quite fond of in recent weeks, for those who were curious), it seems that August 14th has dawned upon us. All summer, I'd been looking forward to this day, mostly because it signified the one month mark till I can leave the god-awful state of Ohio and head on down to Georgia for college. But these days, those feelings of relief have been replaced by those of stress and panic. Not because I'm scared of going, no. The problem is that I have practically no money to pay the fees.

The school gave me 10 grand in grants and that's all fine and dandy but I'm still short about 30K (and that's just covering tuition, housing and food). The last few weeks, my mother and I have been scrambling to find a loan and we almost had one. I tried to get a loan on my own but the lender said I needed a cosigner and I'd be eligible for up to 25K, which I'd take in a heartbeat! Unfortunately, after mom cosigned for me, the lender deemed that mom's credit was too low and refused to give us any money. We'd try another lender but I'm 99% sure they'll all tell us the same thing.

Now, you may be asking yourself "JD, why don't you have your dad cosign instead?". That is a good question, reader! You'd think that'd be the easiest solution. However, that's not the case. Follow me on this one. Dad said he can't, or rather won't, cosign my load because my stepmom, and this is verbatim, "will divorce him if he signs". Fucked up? I know, right? Now, I haven't approached my stepmother and explained how much of a mega-bitch she is but from past conversations, I can assume that her reasoning is that by cosigning, that puts their credit on the line and in the result I can't repay my loans, they'll suffer. I can understand that to a degree. But here's how I see it: she has no problem with me potentially ruining someone else's credit(my mother's, my grandfather's, etc.) but as soon as it's her own, she gives me the finger and boot, metaphorically.

Is that not one of the most fucked up things you've ever heard? For someone who likes to claim of many occasions "I swear he's my son!", she sure as hell doesn't act like it. All she ever fucking does is sleep, eat, make excuses to her boss of why she's "too sick" to go into work and on the rare occasion she does go in, she just comes home and bitches about how everyone in her office is out to get her. The woman also still sleeps with teddy bears and, even creepier, likes to make them talk to me and dad.

Let's shift focus. I think I've ranted on my stepmother enough. I'll rant about my seemingly testicle-less father! I've got more than enough to complain about my father; probably enough to fill up a book with but let's stay on topic. I swear dad has become so whipped by this woman, just for the sheer fact that she was the only woman out of the multitude women who were in and out of my life as a child, who was dumb enough to marry him and he's afraid of losing her. Really? This is a woman who has threatened to divorce you for not paying the storage locker bill (we would've lost everything in the locker had he not payed it; turns out that right after she threatened him, I reread the letter and saw that the bill wasn't due till the following month), helping out his own child by just cosigning a loan so he can go to college and those are the only ones I'm aware of! I'm sure she's done it plenty of other times.

God damn. And people wonder why the fuck I want to so desperately get the fuck out of this state. It's so I can get away from these idiots, for lack of a better term. So, with college bearing down, I'm running out of options. Mom said she'd look into trying to get a Plus Loan (Google it) and maybe I can get some money that way. I'm really hoping that works because that's really my last shot. If I can't get the money I need by the first of the month, I'm doomed to community college and lord knows I won't be able to have the future I want settling for that. For once in my life, I'm actually passionate about something and I have a fucking dream and it's yet again because of money, I get royally fucked. Money has always been the biggest issue in my life for as long as I can remember and it remains that way today.

Hey everybody, wanted to throw something out there and see what you all thought. It seems even more difficult in this day and age for teenagers to find a job, me being no exception. And it is because of this fact that my income is rather low; I get $20 a week for cleaning the house. As you can probably guess, 20 bucks a week isnt' really enough to pay for gas or even go out and do fun stuff and with college coming up in the fall, don't even get me started. So, with that in mind, I'd like to ask: how many people would be interested if I decided to start taking commissions? It would be a good way for me to bring in some money, help me prepare for doing client commissions later on and you people would get to see your ideas that I may have had to turn down before finally drawn. I don't have a subscription so I can't make a poll but if you guys would be kind enough to post your thoughts in the comments, I'd appreciate it.

"It's 5 days before Christmas. JD Bear is worried because he thinks that Santa is selfish and isn't going to bring him squat. He's been good enough, hasn't he? So, JD Bear gathers his pals and starts formulating a plan to get to the North Pole and put himself on The List. Meanwhile, Jamie's having a crisis of faith with Christmas, thinking that all the meaning has been taken out of it. Seeing him in a state of depression, Beth and Ben try to get Jamie into the spirit by showing him all the joy Christmas brings. Somewhere along the line, the three of them get roped into JD Bear's Santa scheme and go with him to the North Pole. All the while, Ariel and Marley are out in a field awaiting the Great Snowball's appearance."

I'm hoping to make this about a 15-20 pg comic and have this up a few days before Christmas. It's gonna be awesome and full of random humor and many Charlie Brown references.

And for those of you who are actually still wondering about "King of Nerds", you can look forward to the first installment around mid-January. I promise.

That's right guys! I've gotten some good reviews of my one-short comic "King of Nerds". So much that I've decided to try and make it into a comic series. I have most of the story thought up...oddly enough, I did this at band practice tonight. But Katherine, Derek and Alien will be back IN COLOR as the battle new evil forces with their own force of random! I'll be posting "King of Nerds" on another DA account I made a few months ago, just in case I ever did a webcomic. And no, this won't be like "Filmstrip" and "Codebusters"...or whatever the hell I called it. "King of Nerds" is happening people. It's happening so much, I'm thinking of pitching it to SNAFU comics (Bleedman's on there. If you don't know who he is, you fail at life)! Anyway, I'll keep y'all updated on KoN's progress.

I just got back from seeing the long-awaited Simpsons Movie and I've got say, it was well worth the wait. I won't ruin your experience with spoilers but I will say that it's definitely worth seeing. Yep, I'm finally done with the Ani-Girls so I can get back to my life now XD. Anyway, summer's going good so far. The only movies I planned on seeing that I've gotten to see so far is Spider-Man 3, Shrek 3 and Transformers. Spider-Man and Shrek, like the other threequels, was ok but not as great as the previous ones. Transformers, however, was one bad ass movie! I saw it the day it came out and there were over 100 people waiting to get into the theater. It was awesome how enthusiastic the rest of the crowd got during the movie. The story was good, the effects were amazing and it was great to hear Peter Cullen return to voice Optimus Prime. ^^ Sorry, fanboy moment. And I still haven't seen Pirates or Fantasic 4 and I need to go see Harry Potter and The Simpsons Movie when they come out. Well, marching band's gonna start up in the next few days so I'll get pics out when I can. I have a few ideas circling around in my brain hole. Hope the rest of ya's summers are going good. GO TO THE MOVIES FOOLS!

Aaaand, I found out something interesting today. coming out for the Nintendo Wii and DS this x-mas is game called "Mario & Sonic at the Olypmic Games". In celebration of the 2008 Olympics in China, Nintendo is making a game that pits Mario, Sonic and all they're little friends against each other in olympic-type events. Sound pretty good.

Ariel has ninja babies, me and Ben kick each other in the nads, I meet Danny Phantom, Ben goes Super Saiyan to take a dump, the infamous 'yaysauce' episode, Patrick kisses Alex, Nettey plays Phoenix Wright, me and Ben argue over World of Warcraft and City of Heroes, Beth and Ariel steal a flame pony, Liz taunt me over my newfound liking of Shaman King, Ben tries to become the next Star Wars Kid using his katana, Josh thinks iMacs pwn, LoneHero makes a guest appearance, me and Ben spy on girls at a slumber party and Liz and Nettey complain about the unrealistic biology of Pokemon.

Each season will be 15 comics long with about a month break between seasons. Heh, this is gonna be fun
