Anyways, this is just a quick message to say that today I received my $1037.50 cheque from the art show!!

....

Yes, the last photo competition in Robe I was talking about, well I won!!! & sold the photo too! Parently it was quite a show stopper! I wished I'd been there to see it!

So there's another competition in our local gallery & I'm hoping to pick up something there (but I won last year so I'm not quite sure if I can! Lol) but it'll be nice to have my word hanging up in the gallery!

Tomorrow I have a photoshoot with Nikie and Jess because Jess leaves to live in Adelaide on Friday and Tuesday after school was the only time we could do it! Hmm, yeah everyone's just a little busy!

So I'll make sure to post the finished products of that soon!

Fingers crossed for this upcoming comp!

So, another school term has come and gone (yah! only 1 term left of the school year!) & I have some busy photo plans in these 2 "short" weeks of no school!
First up, if you haven't already seen, I've found a new photo location which has had quite a lot of attention these past weeks!
The place has no name because its literally found in the middle of no where (& also hidden so it's a very secretive place!) but we've given it the name of "Blanche Forest"
The place is so perfect for photos! There's 2 adandoned cottages, a van, blossom trees, a shed full of old newspapers & the most gorgeous scenery!

Recently, Kailah & Lauren have been my models & they're doing a great job! Kailah is brilliant with the makeup & always takes beautiful photos & Lauren's just gotten her bracers off & wow! she's become quite photogenic!
Right now, Jess and I are having a bit of trouble fitting in times that suit each of us (coz of work & stuff) but I shall hopefully have some photos up of her soon! Can't wait!

This coming month consists of photo comps for me! I've just entered 'Attic Windows' one of my faveourite photos, into a competition in Robe which is rather big! This is the first year they're running a photography section & the main prize is $1000 in this category! I could really use $1000 right now!
But The Show that comes once a year is on in a few weeks & they have photo competitions too so I'll be entering lots of photos of Kailah & Lauren & hopefully Jess into that! Fingers crossed all of that goes well!

Alright so I've blabbed enough!

Now... In the past, Nikie has been left relatively cold during our shoots (ie: previous beach shoot (in summer thou!), flooded hospital shoot, the train track shoot we attempted in the rain! (lol) but yesterday was something else!! *sigh* poor little purpled haired modeling rat was left in a fully soaked sleeveless, light weight dress, freezing on the beach!
In the midst of the weather, She also managed to face plant it in the water & I stacked it over a rock! (Our 'highlights' of the day!)
Oh, & Nikie also went swimming in her underwear cause she was complaining that she had sand down her bra! Lol! (& I didn't realise Myles had the camera at the time!... )

... On a lighter note- I was rather pleased with the work we were able to get out of the shoot! I did pray that it wouldn't rain (& it didn't, thank god!) so that worked in our faveour- though next time I have to make sure to check when the tide is going out!!
And also, we had some company this time! My friend Myles and his sister Eliza came with us & took some photos as well! Considering the conditions, Eliza did a great job at modeling for both of us, so we hope to double up again and take some more photos sometime soon! Maybe we'll go back out to the cottage??!... Hmmm...!

So yeah- recap!
Went for a beach photoshoot in the middle of winter!
Took around 250 photos! (sharing the camera with Myles!)
Tide was coming in!
I got drenched!
Nikie got drenched!
Myles & Eliza got drenched!
Was probably close to getting hypothermia!
... but it all made for some great photos!!

An abandoned stable (across from a golf course!)
& another abandoned cottage with a vineyard (gasp!) out the front!
Unfortunately, tresspassing was not an option this time and we had to asked the lady that lived next to the vineyard cottage if we could borrow it to take some photos!
She was really nice and let us... But we werent able to get our hands on the interior! (dang!)
Anyhow- we were once again faced with a MASSIVE beehive when taking photos in the stables which was a tad scary!

School Holidays have just started for us so we expect to get as much as we can done during our two weeks break! We hope to discover lots of new, juicy photo places and be able to extend on 'The List!'

Also- I will be using some new models! Kailah- my twin (yes- were born on the same day!) best friend and maybe even Eliza (a friendz sister of mine) Both girls are gorgeous!

Cant wait!

1) Trespassing: It's a fave!

2) Climbing through broken windows: we always end up cutting our hands and never remembering to bring bandades! Now I carry them with me all the time!

3) Climbing over wire fences: barb wire, paddock wire, we specialize in the lot!

4) Climbing over electric wire: Ohk that might have been taking it alittle far!

5) Falling out of trees: classic!

6) Doging bee hives: Ummm... !

7) Getting eaten alive by mosquitos: correction- model getting eaten alive by mosquitos!

8) Surviving winter ocean water temperatures: only just!

9) Unstable surfaces: Have rotted board walk- survived that one! As for the half rotted cottage floor boards- model went straight through that one! Lol

10) Aspestace: don't no what harm that'll do!

We like to keep track of these! Hmm- wonder what'll happen next photo shoot?!?
