Also... I'm getting another sewing machine. That makes.. uh... 4? Used to be 5. OH SNAP TIME TO TALK ABOUT MY MANY SEWING MACHINES.

Little Man: My first machine, though it was a miniature sewing machine. You held it in your hand and it sewed up small projects or things that needed quick fixes. Like... a portable machine for hand-stitching... without actually hand stitching anything? I dunno...

Jay: A Japanese sewing machine that my grandma's friend gave to me when I was starting out. All the instructions were obviously NOT in English, but I figured it out with the pictures. That one went to a friend after I got another machine.

Big Brother: I like to think of him as my first real machine, but don't tell the other two >_>;;; I still use him for most of my projects. (He's a Brother machine if that wasn't obvious)

Juno: MY BELOVED SERGER. (Janome brand) <333333 Sexy over-lock stitches...

???: My newest addition was found by my grandma at an auction last month. $20 dollars for a table-locked sewing machine. AWESOME. YES OR YES? She said it was made in the 70's... or was checked on in the 70's... either way, it'll be my first non-portable machine. Good news is if I want to go top-speed, my machine won't move all over the table (I'M LOOKING AT YOU BIG BROTHER). Bad news... it's stuck in the table? Oh well. It doesn't have the knee pedal (Thankfully), but the foot pedal instead.

Wishful purchase: Even with so many machines THERE ARE STILL SO MUCH MORE TO GET. I'd like to own one of those automatic top-stitch style machines... I forget what it's called! But basically it does the stitching like on hems of t-shirts, where it is over locked underneath and looks like a double stitch on top. There was a certain machine that I used once for that in school and it was fabulous. Technically I could make those stitches with the machines that I own already (or a rolled hem effect with my serger) ... but why mess with settings and doing twice the job when you can get a machine that does it already? ;D [/again... lazy man job]

And I'll probably inherit my grandmother's machine too. It's a table bound machine... and I think she said it was her mother's? Or was it grandmother's... :<;;; But it's simply adorable. I used it to make Merryweather and it works like a beauty~

Anyway! The cosplay thief [link] is still around. She's taken down her gallery from the front page, but the photos are still there if you click the tabs.

I'm glad to see other people posted about her. It shows how great the cosplay community is about protecting our creations too.

So don't give up! Keep reporting until those pictures are taken down or her account is deleted.

For those that didn't see my last journal, basically the above person was claiming she (or her so called "sister) was ayanamilisa [link] and stealing her cosplay photos. The thief also stole some photographs and claimed she took them as well.

Long story short, I didn't pre-wash my fabric, so when it went into the wash, it shrunk a little. (Not much, but the length is like an inch shorter than how I like my hoodies. It's still wide enough... weird)

I only did this with my hoodie, so for those that have one purchased/on order, I'VE PRE-WASHED YOUR FABRIC. @_@;; For whatever reason I just went stupid on making mine... (Plus I left it in the dryer for more than a minute... DUMB)

Anyway... I'll have to make a new one soon, but honestly, I need money to afford Ikkicon first. I plan to go, but I'd like to have MONEY when I go. D: So this getting sold would help me out GREATLY.

Even if you don't want it, pass on the word!

1. I'm terrified of Dolfie's and ant-eaters.

2. I curse... a lot. Mostly when playing video games and around close friends/co-workers.

3. I rarely ever finish a video game. I have the tendency to START or play part of a game, but never complete it. Out of all the games I've played, maybe 15-25% I've beaten. Sometimes I get stuck, sometimes I get bored, while most of the time I just set it down and never pick it back up.

4. If I ever won the lottery, I would get lypo. No joke. I would take the lazy-man's route to get rid of my tummy and thunder thighs. I would also forgo my fear of surgery just to get through with it.

5. I'm a hypocrite about cosplay. I say that people should cosplay whoever they want without listening to what other people say, but I'm always afraid to do certain cosplay's based on that idea alone.

6. My favorite dessert as a child was taking plain vanilla ice cream sandwiches and pouring school cafeteria chocolate milk over it.

7. I hate Kimchi. But every time I go to a Korean restaurant, I try it to see if I can slowly grow into liking the taste. Nothing has changed.

9. I tend to joke a lot, so I always wonder if my jokes go too far. (Or aren't understood by most people)

So, my show goes up starting tonight, and it's exciting. Definitely more exciting than the first show. I feel like I've contributed more. In Dead Man's Cell Phone I built a few things on Carpentry Crew, but also did a TON of wallpapering... ugh. Hate wallpaper. Will never use it in my home. Where in Oedipus, current show, I was a scenic painter... and there was a TON of painting to do. But it was fun. I'm very proud of the work I contributed to that... ESPECIALLY BECAUSE I PAINTED ON A 10 FT+ LADDER. UGHN... HEIGHTS + SUSPENDED SCENERY THAT MOVES IN THE AIR... MAKES. ME. NERVOUS.

Yulecon is the weekend, but I'll only be there for Saturday. Not going to wear anything (unless it gets super chilly, then I'll sport the Prinny Hoodie.) I'll be playing photog that day since it's such a small con. (And I won't have a badge, so not much to do! Haha.) So if anyone wants a few pictures.. please grab me! xD I'll be getting to use a friend's snazzy camera and I've missed taking prettiful pictures.

Let me just say this. Horror movies don't scare me. They can gross me out and make me jump, but not flat out TERRIFY me. I come out of most horror movies, enjoying the scares regardless, but I'm never shaking in my seat for five minutes before getting up.

The last time I felt even remotely close to this was seeing The Ring (2002) in theaters. (You laugh now, but back then when I was in middle school, there was NO other movie out like it at the time. Now-a-days long-haired asian ghosts aren't really scary). After that movie, I was afraid to be alone in a room with tv's, and hated mirrors. (Though I usually avoid mirrors after scary movies in general)

Previous to the Ring, there was a film called the St. Fancisville Experiment (2000). A documentary type deal that tried to be scarier than the Blair Witch (Its tag line was even: "This ain't no walk in the woods.") It was a lot like the Blair Witch in the sense of terrible camera control, a bunch of people running around a haunted house acting stupid; and even though it took an obvious "HEY THIS IS FAKE" route, the ending left me with chills. I won't give it away, but if you're into horror flicks of that kind, check it out. To this day, even if I know it's fake... it just... it bothers me. It bothers me like Paranormal Activity bothers me.

I tried to joke about it last night but when I started talking about other scary stuff (movies/vidja's/etc) while in the car ride home with my friends, I started tearing up. It was weird...

I got married to Cecilia today... AND I'M ONLY HALFWAY THROUGH THE FIRST SUMMER. Which means I've been playing for... 42 days (game time)? MARRIED HER ON HER BIRTHDAY TOO. I haven't gotten to the kid part yet, but I might start my second save file as a new game to try for another girl. Is it wrong I wanted to break up a marriage? HOW HORRIBLE AM I?

ALSO: RUNE FACTORY 3 IS COMING OUT. I WANT TO TRANSFORM INTO ANIMALS. HOLY BALLS.

I wish I had a Wii so I could get Rune Factory Frontier. It's like the same as the first DS game... BUT THE WII HAS EUNICE.

I went watching cutscenes with her on youtube and her story is so... cute and depressing. xD (Funny depressing in the sense of your choices can change her physical lifestyle)

I always have the strangest dreams, but I'm sure so does everyone else. They just become stupid when you try to explain them, or there's no way to explain them in words. I feel like I need to get this out before I forget what I'm trying to say; though I'm sure it'll sound ridiculous later.

It was a mish-mash of dreams really. Where there's so many that went on, but you don't know if they had anything to do with one another? One of them had to do with a trip that I went on with old middle school friends (that I haven't seen in YEARS) and of course it happened in my old school. Ugh.

Key note: Whenever I have terrifying dreams. One way or another, I end up on my old school. (I spent 6-10th grade there and it was... not the best period in my life). For some reason, my "dream" school, can only be described as Silent Hill, but without the monsters. The building is a maze, the bathrooms are a deathtrap, there's a TORNADO in the younger kid's playground; however, no one ever seems to notice these strange happenings. in fact, when "I'm" there, _I_ don't even notice. I can't even think of everything, I'll just have to draw it one day. (Though it changes periodically)

ANYWAY.

We weren't in the school long. I just remember sitting down and then everything changed. Suddenly we were in a town, and it was like starting near the end of the movie. I recall all of what happened (as if I were there/watched it), but now I just popped in during the end. (Basically this town had a set of rules their children followed, etc etc, generic creepy "perfectionist" town horror movie. Kids started realizing they're parents were wrong and rebelled? Something like that.) At this point, I came in and there were a bunch of kids, dead on the floor with strange looking holes in the back of their head. There was also a machine nearby with a sharp... object, protruding from it (obviously wha was used on the kids). One of the people came up to me and said something like "You don't want to follow the rules of paradise? Then fine, go back to your old life. It's time you woke up." Then I guess they hit me because I definitely jerked awake, sitting straight up in my bed. I really freaked out my dog in the process because I screamed out a little.

Ahaa... yeah... so, obviously when I woke up crying, I was super confused. Then it took me awhile to try and remember my dream, but... ughn. It was creepy! I'm sure it's because I've read this one too many times: (CREEPYPASTADESU)

"It has been reported that some victims of rape, during the act, would retreat into a fantasy world from which they could not WAKE UP. In this catatonic state, the victim lived in a world just like their normal one, except they werenÂt being raped. There were other things, but I can't quite put them together. That last bit is what gave me the chills I suppose.

There was also a brief period where I went to my coworker's house with some other people and met his wife. I think it's because I found out yesterday he's going to be a daddy. But instead in the dream, they weren't having a baby, they were having a litter of baby hedgehogs and offered to give me one. :<

For those of you that didn't know, this past weekend he wasn't acting normal. He became lethargic, wouldn't eat, wouldn't move, wouldn't do ANYTHING. The vet diagnosed him on Tuesday with severe mouth infections/tumors that could have possibly been cancer. However, the testing to prove it would have been too hard on his little body. I was giving him medicine to try and help, but he gave up and couldn't keep anything down. Putting him to sleep was better for him then having him suffer.

At least he can roll his yellow ball as long as he wants in Hedgie Heaven. <3

Anywho, I saw they had the infamous circle lenses. The ZOMGASIANPHOTOSHOPPED eyes. I got a pair of 'Mint Blue' just for fun. (And who knows there are a lot of characters with blue eyes...)

Now, I've never worn contacts before, so I knew it was going to be a pain to try them on. I even did so in the dark when the power went out during a storm. Haha! Thanks to my friends holding a tiny mirror and flashlight. That was an interesting experience.

I tried one on again and looked to see if there was a difference, but I can't really tell. There cool, but close up you can see the brown of my eye peak through sometimes. (You get what you pay for~)

Dealer's Room: Everyone was complaining this year about not having enough stuff. WTF. ARE YOU PEOPLE BLIND? This year was AWESOME with the severe lack of multiple copies of the same shit in every booth. I didn't see a lot of "oh hey this was here last year" either. In fact, what I DID see was some great vintage toys from my childhood. That right there blew my mind. The gaming booth had a bigger selection, although all of them were out of my price range.

Haahahaa!! I would never. :[ Effing sexy no jutsu...

ANYWAY. The reason behind that is me working on my Eleanor wig. I got most of it done. Re-straightened (THANK GOD FOR TSUKI. OH HOLY BALLS. THANK GOD) and pulled back into higher pigtails. Then stubbed, and fitted for Styrofoam balls. (To create a bubblier round pigtail). When I was hotgluing the extensions onto the styrofoam, I definitely mega burned my index finger. Not only did I get a blister form it, but I later burned myself in the same spot, thus creating a blister on top of my other blister. OH YEAH BABY. It's all gross and what not today. :[

No more pigtail/pony tail wigs. NEVER AGAIN. The first and last time. I swears.

My mood has brightened.

As soon as I logged in, I see 200+ messages. First thing I think? Glitch. xD

But it turns out I got a Daily Deviation for Quina! Oh my gosh... I could cry. I guess for some people that's not a big deal, but getting recognized for something you worked so hard on... it means everything! This is another small step, at least for my pride, to show that even if I didn't think the best of it, someone else did.

You guys are awesome. <3 I read each and every one of those comments. Some I replied to, but I others I couldn't, so I'm sorry, but I do thank you for your time spent commenting!

Now back to trying to figure out what went wrong with my Mac... haha. (read below if you're a Mac expert):

Like I said, after the system update my screen went screwy. Now, my monitor doubles as a tv. The tv part works fine (sound and everything) but the computer part does not. When I restart you can't hear that pleasant sound that chimes in coming just from the mac mini. Tried setting it on different resolutions, but nothing works. Everything is either too big for my screen, stretches to fit, or too small so I get the motivational poster black border background. (I would print screen, but the print screen shows my whole desktop as if nothing was wrong. I can't take a decent picture with a camera until Friday, but by then I pray it's fixed.) Tried unplugging stuff and restarting various ways, nothing. It's so weird. :\ I don't think a system update should have caused this... Help?

Edit: Apparently several people have been having some sort of problems due to the latest system update. Maybe there will be a fix-up soon. Also, my sound is working again.

HOW FAR ALONG HAS EVERYONE COME?

Eleanor will be complete tonight aside from the wig. Dorothy is done except for attaching the silver accessories and deciding how I want the "suspenders" to hold. Mayor.. hasn't changed since my funding ran dry. I get paid this Friday, HOWEVER.

I'm finally buying a new digital camera. ;_;

IT'S... IT'S BEAUTIFUL. (not really)

What got me the most about it is the fact that it has what I like to call "The lazy man's photoshop" option. BASICALLY, if you point it at a specific color, it will only register that color in the photo, while everything else remains black and white.

I would toy with that option alone FOR HOURS.

So yes, goodbye $200 that could be going towards Mayor...

BUT OMFG. I'm no longer feeling like a downer. I want to take lots of pictures this year! (plus possibly borrowing my BF's kick ass camera) If anyone needs extra photos for a mini-shoot at the con, lemme know. I'm no professional, but it could be fun.

When you first heard of the new Star Trek movie coming out, were you:
A. Excited
B. Not sure.
C. Star Trek; that's the one with Vader, right?

I noticed that they didn't promote it as much as I figured they would (probably for the best). The movie also showed me that I knew more about Star Trek than I originally believed. However, this isn't to say I could front it up with the hardcore fans out there, since I was only a wee lass when I knew about it. (The Next Generation was playing at the time, but I never got into that one. I just really liked Captain Picard) The extent of my knowledge came from friends arguing over which was better (original cast vs. new gen.), late night television (I watched maybe a few episodes), parodies, and other shows that depicted Star Trek/Wars conventions. (Where the fans nerd rage at each other over pointless facts.)

So going in, I knew character names, faces, characteristics to said names and faces, popular tag lines from the show, music, the opening title, and a little background information (only regarding Kirk and Spock).

I can't say whether or not the new Star Trek movie stayed true to it's predecessor or not. What I can say is that with my little knowledge, I still found it to be a FANTASTIC movie. More-so than X-men. I found myself becoming giddy when certain characters appeared, or when certain lines were said, which all-in-all made me feel like a fan. Maybe not as big of a fan as the guy sitting behind me, or even you, who may be reading this, but a fan none-the-less.

I believe they did a good job of making Star Trek seem "cool" and up to date with the times, but I can't wait to hear what the other fans will say about it. Regardless, I enjoyed it, and can't wait for it to hit DVD.

Cosplay update:

So, my funding was cut short, and it's not looking good for the Mayor. I can't afford the upholstery foam that I'd like to use. ($15 a yard? Ugh... where's a coupon when you need it.) As well as my mask started cracking again, even with all those touch ups. Blaaaarg.

On the brighter note, I've been having fun making props for Eleanor. (A Chipmunk doll of Theodore that holds my con money... IF YOU'VE SEEN THE MOVIE, THIS MAKES SENSE.) I also started thinking that if I can't finish the Mayor then I might be able to work on Drosselmeyer... eh probably not. A friend of mine still wants me to make her a Blind Mag costume, which is GORGEOUS. I could always hold back Mayor to make more time for that.

I've stopped being a negative nancy (....sort of.) about finishing Mayor. This happened with Quina when I tried to finish it for Afest '07, but just took a breather and did it for A-Kon last year. In the end it turned out WAY better. So I'll stop pestering you guys with my annoying bitterness to this costume's perfection. @_@;;

I tend to pull stuff out of my ass at the last minute. You know, that final boost of "OMG THE CON IS IN A WEEK I NEED TO FINISH." SO WE'LL JUST HAVE TO SEE~

Regardless, I came out expecting less, but got more action than the three x-men movies combined. (Slight exaggeration, but whatev)

Now, if you don't mind some character infractions (knowledgeable X-men fans will notice right away), it's not a bad movie. I don't know if it connects with the first one very well, but I haven't seen the X-men movie in a LONG time.

If you had any doubts, go see it on the big screen. I don't think it will have the same effect on tv. (I watched the third X-men movie a couple weeks ago on HBO, and I thought it was kinda boring.)

ALSO.

There are multiple endings apparently. Each theater shows multiple screenings with the different endings. One of the workers there had to explain that you shouldn't leave before the credits are finished.

I'm about to start on the jacket, but when I went to go get interfacing... I started to doubt my idea. I was going to have a thick interfacing to create the "body" of the jacket and then cover it with the real fabric. But the interfacing I saw there didn't seem very sturdy (or sturdy enough).

I'm afraid to buy it and it not work out. I don't want the jacket to cave inward due to the weight of the extra fabric, and of course my own arms.

Suggestions? Or anything else I should look into... if not I go to the expensive plan and get foam to build the body like a true mascot costume x_x

So I've had my serger since shortly after Thanksgiving... but I've been either too busy or too nervous to test it out. (Mostly the latter of the two, because re-threading that thing is a pain in the ass)

A friend of mine wanted to use it yesterday, so we made the trip to serger land... AND CONQUERED IT.

A few miss-looped and broken threads here and there... but it works now.

Oh gawd how I miss a clean edge... IN YOUR FACE LOOSE SEAMS.

Eleanor - 85% (Finishing the tie and wig)

I had leftover plastic tubing (coiled, so it made the perfect "rings" needed to make an outline for the base and top hole) cardboard (cut into strips and ducktaped together to create a somewhat "cone" effect)

That part was fine. HOWEVER.

In all my dumbassery, I started paper mache-ing the thing before realizing that I can't make certain lumps go away. I knew I'd have lumps, but I forgot about the "paper creases" it can cause along with the lumps.

So now it looks... weird.

I don't want to start over, but I don't know what to do in order to fix it and make it "smoother."

I wonder if I keep layering certain areas if it'll look a LITTLE better.

Why does he have to have a CONE head? D: Bah!

I want SO BADLY to sit down and watch a full episode... but caaaaaaaaaan't. Why? I am completely drained by card battles of any type. It was cool and hip and new back in the my childhood days with the first series. I gave GX a try, but only watched it off an on. (COMPLETELY MISSING OUT ON ALL THE GOOD STORYPLOT SHIT. UGH. BALLS.)

Which is WHY I WANT to try 5Ds. It's like that food you say will get better with age. Everyone else likes it, but no matter how many times you try it, it still leaves a bad taste in your mouth. (Like kimchi. I want to like it, but don't.)

No I'm not saying the show sucks in any shape or form. I am super intrigued by the characters and possible storyplot.... BUT HOLYDAKFNADFKLADF. Yes, motorcycles are exciting. Yes, it's better than just standing around and "taking holographic damage" like a wuss.

Big shot people that think they are bettering the situation for whatever group they represent, but in fact, are not.

Case point #1: Resident Evil 5
Apparently there was a huge fiasco about this game a long time ago (and probably still now) when the story and screen shots were getting leaked. The plot took place in Africa and had African zombies. Makes sense, yeah? If you think so, THEN YOU ARE RACIST. Obviously we can't have African zombies in Africa. not only that BUT THEY BE GETTING KILLED BY A WHILE GUY. SO TOTALLY RACIST. I don't understand why there wasn't a hissy fit about this in RE4? Was there? If so, let me know, because I think it's more racist to point out the so called flaws of this game, instead of the previous installments. Why was it then okay to kill American/Japanese zombies? Better yet, Spanish zombies? We were killing them for years. I don't understand? Can someone explain? ZOMBIES ARE ZOMBIES. There is no 'race' in zombieland. I'm not going to pick and choose who to shoot first based on their ethnicity when dealing with zombies. The closest zombie dies first, then the next, and so forth. Priorities, thanks. So now there is a significant decrease in 'native African' zombies. If you look, they threw in Spanish and ('white' which could be any sort of European/Asian decent, idk.) Am I crazy? I know this is a late rant, but it's something I've been arguing since it came out. I've had people complain to me that this game is racist, because the zombies are 'black.' I'm thinking about switching jobs in the summer because my current one pays like crap.

I moved into a new home, but dislike the fact that my neighbors have a bright motion light shining into my window at night.

I got a new computer (#6!) but it's a Mac mini. No more windows.

I'm quitting the rest of this semester since I am failing most of my classes, and would rather just stop in order to work more, than progress and get an 'F' anyway.

I now own the Footloose soundtrack on a record. Best $4 spent EVER.

I am nervous about my new major in the fall and hope that I can get the classes I need to begin anew.

I am getting a hedgehog in a month or so. I have been saving up for one since January. I don't care if people think they're creepy; I think they're adorable.

I have been in and out of the doctor, but it's no longer a life-threatening issue. I just need to schedule some more visits.

I found the ultimate Disney song collection (Over 60+ songs?) on 3 CDs for $25 at Half-Price book store. It also came with a book of "Disney: A Legacy in Music" and a pretty box.

I became stressed out by everything going on and was snappy at my friends. I apologize.

I am lucky to have the life I have, regardless of all the negative outcomes that have occured to me in the past few months.

I received one of my all-time favorite books series in the mail a few weeks ago, which I've been reading non-stop. (The 'Dollanganger' series by V.C Andrews. Flowers In the Attic, If there be thorns, etc etc.) It's nice to get back into heavy reading that does NOT have pictures in them.

These days I don't really become hard core attached to new anime series. I enjoy brief periods of them, but it's rare for me to dread waiting for a next episode. (Higurashi and Gurren, respectively) but...

Soul Eater.

It's addicting.

I know it's almost old news (for internet anime junkies), but I never gave it a chance when my friends mentioned it last year. But since I don't want it to turn into another Code Geass fiasco. (Where I know the whole plot line but won't watch it BECAUSE I know the spoilers and everything...)

Maybe I'll watch CG afterwards?

I'll be switching to a Theater major this fall.

No, not for acting, mind you.

I'm going in for all the wonderful technical aspects.

After weeks of stressing, I finally decided to go talk to some advisers and others that worked in the Theater department. I got a tour of the place and literally started crying tears of joy.

The crowded work spaces full of sawdust, the smell of paint drying, the echo of voices backstage...

I've never felt closer to home.

I keep getting my ass kicked!

It's harder than I thought. I still can't get through one story (3 fights) since I always lose on the second fight, no matter who it is.

Need more practice. @_@

It'd help if I could read what was going on. I understand the story, but not the move sets. (Thank god for pictures and wikipedia) I haven't played P4 in a week. >_>;;; This is a terrible habit. I keep going back to L4D and Luminous Arc 2.

P.S: I want to buy my costume fabric. :< But I have to wait for my 'Chippette' friends...

P.S.S: Why is it my 'Amanda' costume is more popular then any other costume? Blaaarg. The one I worked THE LEAST amount on. xD Sad times.

I'm excited because now I don't need to go to school to use their dress forms if it's late at night. (And a project is due the next day but I need some last minute fittings...)

I wish I had a full-body (With legs) one too, but my half body will do.

The dress form was bought at [link] for a pretty penny... but they have the BIGGEST and BEST selection of forms I have EVER seen. *____* They also have the cheap foam body ones that I'm tempted to get (for a male form since I won't do many outfits for men, and it won't be of long term use).

I put out more money because I really hate the selections that are offered at fabric retailers. They're really cheap and not very sturdy... Mine could take on a TRAIN. YEAH.
