It's been quite a long time since I didn't write anything here even if I've been shooting and posting pictures again lately.

I'm being a little busy at the moment as my girlfriend, a friend and I are having a quite nice exhibition at the moment which took us quite a lot of our time.
I took this exhibit as a reason to move myself a bit in producing a 24 pages booklet presenting some of my work to sell there.

If anyone is interested, price is 20 euros or 30 dollars + shipping (3Â or 5$).

I plugged the scanner and re-scaned old negatives I had scanned before with my classic scanner. Difference is huge so I thought it was worth posting a journal note to tell you some old stuff was being refreshed. Here is the deviation I edited :

Hasselblad film has been developed and is drying in my bathroom. Just looking in the camera was breathtaking... I'm looking forward to seeing how it will look like when scanned, with a proper scanner! I may post some stuff here (even if the 12 pics were taken in a parking lot!

Ok!) and tonight's the "vernissage" of my new exhibition. I'm really looking forward to it! I think I'm gonna have a great time.
The place is great! Some kind of a restaurant you feel like knowing for ages even if you've only been there twice. The restaurant is owned by two incredible girls who make one feel home the very moment he enters. I'm gonna be fine there for the two next months.
The girls seem to be quite happy with the result and I think I am too. Hanging the frames with rope was a real pain in the a... but it looks nice in the end.
I'll try to get some pics done to show you down here how it looks like...

Those of you folks who read my deviations descriptions might know that I've been working on a nude male calendar project those last 2 weeks.

Shootings are finally over and there will only be a short time until I can print it.
This has been a really funny and interesting experience and, even if it hasn't been easy, I've got to say I'm pretty happy with the result.

It's not something I've been doing for the moment but I felt that this calendar could be something I could try to sell to present my work. It is a quite coherent project and I think it shows a bit of what my photography can look like. A first step in going out of the web.

What do you guys think of that? Would anyone of you be interested in buying a superb A4 calendar to have the chance to look at those awesome men all year long? Price would be around 20$ + shipping.
Tell me what you think of the pics and the idea...

So I now have a new toy to play with!

It's been quite hard to find how the "Lubitel" works and it's been loaded with a 20 years old film so results (if there are any!) won't look nice for sure. I also forgot to manually change the film so the first two pics will actually be one.

One get used to all this modern and automatic stuff we handle now. Using this old camera's fun and I hope I'll manage to produce nice things with it.

(Photo taken by my model Amaury. If you look carefully, you can see my eye in the lens! Fun isn't it?!)

I've also borrowed a smoking machine to a friend. Gonna have fun with that too! Pictures to come!

PS : my exhibition's moving today! It's going to another nice bar in the city, near the market I'm used to shoot on sundays.

Even if the day started with rain it finally turned out to be a good day!

First I set my exhibition after a few hours of sleep (had to make frames til 3 o'clock in the mourning yesterday).
Looked a bit strange when the 3 first pictures were hanging on the wall but it looked nice in the end when all the 22 photographs had found their spot. It feels strange but it feels good. It's not as amazing as it would be in a proper art gallery but I'm quite happy with the result (I'll try to make some shots to show you folks how it looks like).

After adding one last picture I had a text message from the store I had given my camera back to. It's repaired and I got it back!!!

6 long weeks have past but now I can finally shoot again and do all the sessions planed for so long. Gee!!!

That's all but that's great! I'm having a "vernissage" (opening party) for my exhibit on Thursday. If you guys wanna come...

I'm having my first exhibition !!!

Okay it's not in a fancy gallery of a fine art museum but in a small restaurant but I'm really happy about it. I'm going to have the opportunity to share my work physically. That feels completly different.

So I've got to choose the pics (took me more than 7 hours!), have them printed, get the autorisations from my models, design a card...
By the way, here is the card. I'd like to know what you think :

I made kind of a poster if you fancy saying something about it...

I also had to set the exhibition itself. I ended with 3 parts : 2 specifics and a mixed one.

MY CAMERA IS BROKEN AND I WON'T HAVE IT FOR A WHOLE MONTH!!!

Life's terribly unfair isn't it? I just bought new lamps, made a home-made white screen, discovered white backgrounds and double lighting, most of all, got contacted by tons of models after not having any for a long while and I've got no camera to shoot...

Amaury (the terribly good looking model you all might know) has been kind enough to lend me his instead of the antique A75 I've been given by the store. I can shoot with that but what about great aperture and 12X optical zoom I had? And the camera was only 2 months old! OK I shot 7500 pics in those 2 months but whatever, it should be working!

I'm sad... Life's got no point now...

I'm trying to capture a few of this moments and I'll post them down here. I hope you'll appreciate and will kind of feel the feeling.

I'm at the same time experiencing white background photography which is really different from what I've been doing till now. It's very exciting!

Valerie went back from her holidays so we should be shooting soon. I also got it touch with a few new models I should be working with pretty soon.

I'm quite happy of what's coming, photography speaking. Valerie and I are meeting tonight to discuss more precisely about last shoot we made together. I've got a few ideas I'd like to go through with her. I'd like to turn in photographs statues and paintings I shot during my late museum visits for exemple. I'm looking forward to working with her again. She's a really interesting model to work with!

Another good news is Elise, a model you may remember, broke up with her boyfriend (that isn't the news!

) so she's free to work again with me, as her boyfriend was the one who didn't enjoy our colaboration. She's great too and we're shooting on Monday!

Nobody could have predicted what happened to me the lasst weeks...
As some of you may know I had planned a 5 months journey to Canada. I was visiting Queen's University in Ontario to work with fellows researchers on my PhD.
I spent a week in Montreal. It was cold and rainy out there. I caught a cold. 3 days later I was in hospital, a tube in my mouth to breath (it stayed there 9 long days...) and lungs full of fluids. I nearly died... Strange.
I flew back to France a week later accompanied by nurse and doctor in a private flight.
My muscular distrophy played a strange trick on me, broke a part of my dreams, made me change the way I live and think, in a certain way.
I'm not writing to complain, I'm just telling, and the thing is that I bought a new camera! Canon S3 IS is surely far better than my little Casio (I used to like and still do

) I also bought a brand new computer to work on my pictures so get ready for some shots to come, even if they come from France, not from Canada!

This is going to be a big thing! I'm head west, I'm going to Canada to live there for nearly 5 months. I think there's something quite mystic about it. I was wondering, this last days if I would have reached 10000 pages before I go and it seems, 12 hours or so before I go, that the counter is gonna change and get a 5th number right when I'll be crossing ocean from France to Cariboo land! Isn't it funny? No?... Well, okay but I take this as a sign. As well as my buying a new camera just after I land there will be. A new beginning, new page in my life. The Canadian page.

I'm going there to work and I really don't know how this whole experience will be. I don't how "Kingston" is, I don't know the people I'm gonna be working with, I don't know if I'm gonna be hot a damn cold... worse, I don't know if I'll easily be able to shoot there. I'm leaving my studio, models and flat... Will I find what I need there to fill my gallery down here? Hope so! Need to! I've changed my computer and couldn't post last shots I made with 3 guys but won't be enough for the next 5 months!

I woke up tuesday mourning and refreshed dA page, as I always do in the mourning.
Quite surprising to see that "curves" had been favored 3 or 4 times during the night... Did a few things like reading mails and so and refreshed my page again... 10 minutes had pasted and I got 10 more favorites and had been added 5 times in other deviants friends list... Strange I thought. Unsual, for sure. Maybe "curves" had been featured by "the nude insider" [link] I thought. It hadn't. I decided to have a quick look at the pic itself... Maybe I could get an explanation there. And I did! I had a daily deviation! Didn't know exactly what it meant and which effects it would have. A few hours later, my pageviews counter went crazy, I was added about 100 times to friendslists and got more than 200

s! Unbelivable.
That isn't really what means much to me. What I really appreciate and enjoy in that strange experience is the fact that it gave me the opportunity to share, and sharing is what is important to me. I've shared and others have liked what I've been trying to show, convey and make them feel. And I do really feel great about it!

To all those persons who have been saying so nice things about my work, its understood goals and my intentions, I would like to say and big THANK YOU. I've read interesting, nice and intelligent things about my pictures and that is why I came to dA.
I don't know if I deserve that sudden (even if small) popularity but I enjoy the feeling of touching some of you in every way it can be.

I hope I'll be able to give your friendship a reason and I'm looking forward to my going further with you by my side.
