I can't believe it's time for me to apply for colleges. I figured out I wanted to work in the art field only about 3 years ago. I've been really arty since then. I only hope my hard work and dedication serve me well, now that I need to prove myself.

Otis is in my top three art schools, but my first choice is still CalArts!!

I know I said I'd get better with my communication , like a month ago in my last journal. I'm sorry. I haven't really improved much. Those of you who really know me might recognize a pattern where sometimes I withdrawl and don't communicate too much. It's not because I don't care, I do very much so, but sometimes I really need to sort out my life before I can extend myself to others. I'm so sorry.

Things have still been hectic. There was an incident on Halloween involving my mom, she's fine, don't worry, but the police had to get into it. Her job isn't going so well and neither is my school. I won't go into details, 'cause it's actually really unfortunate. But don't worry. I get through things, as always. Optimism, yeah!

I've been on-and-off Neopets the past two weeks. I got into the Art Gallery! (I used an old picture from 2 or 3 years ago though, shhh.) I made a SS comic and sent it in a week ago, but still haven't gotten a yes or no neomail from TNT. I tied for third place in Ogrin division this past Friday. We both had exactly 63 votes. The other person got the trophy. Oh well.

Hmm, anyway, I've moved to my house in Long Bitch...Long Beach, CA, and we've been there for about a month now. It's a long story about why we had to move. It happened really suddenly, actually. The day after I was picked up from CSSSA, we had to do house/job/school searching. Yeahhh my new school is a drag, it's pretty boring and really small, and I miss my friends, SDJA, CSSSA, etc, dreadfully. The good news is that I'm starting to get over my moody self and feel happy again despite my odds, so no worries! I'll be too busy with my college applications and artwork and hopefully a job soon to really notice. This year will go by quickly, I'm sure of it.

I'm really happy that I've still been in contact with most of my friends, even though I've been so busy and mostly offline. I appreciate them so so so much...they've been calling me and facebooking me, I even got a letter from Emma recently! I'm so busy I feel bad, I've been mostly texting people and calling once in a while, but I promise, a little longer and I'll be back to my normal contact status. :>

I've been looking for a gallery or an art museum that hosts life drawing classes...the search has just begun but so far it's going slowly. Long Beach doesn't seem like the most artsy community around. I've been dying for life drawing classes...

Now that I'm starting to get settled, I need to get to work on my to-do list. It's frighteningly long.

Was up in the Los Angeles/Long Beach area for nearly a week, searching for new homes and schools with my mom and brother. I'm moving :/ Oh, my Disney tour was postponed again, but no worries, I will be visiting their studios eventually.

Anyway, I am home now. No more waking up in my dorm room and living an animation CSSSA life...it was one of the best experiences in my entire life. I met some great people there, who are now my friends and acquaintences. I felt so comfortable and at home, which never happens to me. I could go on about how much CSSSA meant to me, beyond the fact that it was a great place for an artist to thrive. I've dealt with a lot of crap in my life but CSSSA protected me for a month from my normally insane life. I am feeling a mix of sadness, happiness, and nostalgia. I'll miss it, but life goes on, and so will I.

I'll try to upload some animations, life drawings, and sketchbook doodles up here. No scanner, so I'll try to take pictures..? We'll see. I'm still busy at home. Life is back to normal, which means it's crazy.

In February I applied to the summer program at Cal Arts college, it's called InnerSpark, and I was accepted! On full scholarship, which is $4,600!!! I only have to pay them $100, and a little bit more for my supplies and getting up to the school (a couple of days on the road).

I'm finally going to be getting away from all my family drama, and will be having an A MA ZING time, doing animation and art!!! I'm so excited.

Anyway, I stayed up all Friday night drawing/doodling in my sketchbook and painting, with my music (lots of Coldplay) BLASTING. my brother is away at camp so I don't have to worry about being loud. Then I woke up late today, did some more painting (acryllics. omg). I looked through my old sketchbooks from the past couple of years, went out to take a walk and went exploring with camera in hand. I've got some pictures to upload soonish. Then I came back, did some really cool interior design-decorating-diarama making project (it's not all done yet though)...took pictures of that as well. And not to mention throughout the day I was having a hilarious and reminiscent text message convo with my bestie, ~jakerocks96. I'm still feeling really inspired so I am going to go do some storyboarding and writing, for a shortstory-esq thing I have in mind.

I'm really content and happy right now!!

I'm so happy to be so involved in art again...I had gone for so many months with barely as much as even doodling...

After this weekend though I really have to get my butt in gear! There are roughly 8 weeks left of school and I have A LOT of work to do...oh gosh you can't even possibly imagine XD

Prom is June 6th...and I'm actually going! This may be the most girlish thing I've ever done in my life. I have my dress and shoes, I just have to get a few more things for it and I'll be ready. I'm really excited to tell the truth!

Speaking of art and ideas, I have (SO MUCH) work to do for AP Studio Art. I need 24 pieces for the portfolio! I have roughly 5 that I know for sure will be in it. 12 of the 24 pieces must be from a book that I'm just starting to storyboard. The portfolio is due in May!

Not to mention I have continual work for yearbook and now the literary arts magazine (I'm doing the cover).

I've been trying to get out and exercise a bit too...I haven't run in a while, and I'm probably really out of shape. I've been taking walks and using small freeweights to condition my arms slowly for when I actually begin running.

What fun! You can tell I'm going to be keeping busy.

My plan for after high school has been to go to art school and become an animator and help with storyboards and character designs and related things, as my profession. A dream of mine would be to work for Disney.

I think of myself as a fine artist/illustrator, and a cartoonist at the same time. That's what I seem to know best. I'd use my cartooning as my main profession, and use my illustrating on the side for children's books, which is also a dream of mine.

However, this may seem surprising, but I used to NEVER want to be a professional artist. I used to want to be a veterinarian or a marine biologist/ecologist/somesortofanimalscientist. Maybe even a teacher. I've always known (since I was 6!) that professional artists can only thrive if the economy can thrive.

With the US economy plummeting into recession with every day, I'm worried about how I can fare as an artist. I know I'm not amazing, I'm only good. I really have to work hard and push to get into the business. There are no free rides in my future, as far as I can see. And even then my success as an artist depends on the public's will to support the arts at the cost of buying their groceries and paying their electric bills.

I'm worried, to put it simply.

Many times the thought, "screw it, I'll be a veterinarian/teacher/ecologist/etc. art will have to wait." has run across my frantic mind.
However, I obviously was born with a knack for art, and have been exercising it for years and have found that my passion for it runs deeply and strongly. Am I supposed to ignore what I was born with and have been working on, in order to be 'less selfish' and more bent on economic success? Or am I supposed to be an artist, and stick by it even if it means I eat a small, cheap meal once a day until I can find myself out there in the world?

I want to be an artist. I want to bring something to the world. I want to write children books and help them in a small, but in an understated way. I want to help make animated movies, and bring life to the screen and offer help in the form of art.
But I am too scared and too aware to charge forward. The way I appear so determined and stolid on the outside is quite different than what's really there on the inside.

But seriously, I have some work to show you!

Anyway, I finished my Innerspark (a summer art program) application. Last year I applied for it, and got on the waiting list of about 30 people out of a few thousand, if I'm recalling the numbers correctly. I learned a lot from the process and hopefully I'll get in this time!

The next project(s) I have to really work at is my portfolio for my AP Studio Art class. I need to have 24 pieces done by May! O.O I only have a few done. 12 of the pieces have to be for something called my "concentration", a body of themed works. Last year I did the "shadow figures" series, this year it is going to be 12 pages from a book I'm going to try to write/illustrate. x_x
Oh, and finish my work for yearbook and design the cover for a literary arts magazine.

At least every thing is really fun!

Anyway! I am excited for fall (what's left) and winter! I like how it is getting colder...I want to wear jackets more often XD

I also am hoping that maybe the change in weather will entice a change in me...I have some things about my habits/outlook on life/etc that I'd like to tune up a little...and sometimes having your physical environment change can help your spirit along too.

I am sad to admit I still haven't been drawing or bein' in my artist mode :C It has certainly taken a toll on me. Something is holding me back and I have been trying to find what it is.
It's like that feeling where you drop something in the dark and are fishing around for it without having a light on!

It's alright though, I'm learning from the experience and I think I'm coming close to my realization, so yaaaay! I'm optomistic, and worry is not needed. I've got to remember that I have an iron will AND a backbone. XD

If I don't submit art in the next two weeks, please feel free to set me straight and remind me and throw a brick or somethin' at me.

There are artists who are naturally gifted with talent, vision and passion. They use these gifts and become like prophets; they forsee, the create...they are visionaries of the people, themselves, and what is the past, present, and future.

There are artists who are self taught in the ways of discipline, craft, and mastery. They use what they gave themselves and create splendid pieces depicting what can be accomplished by humankind.

And there are also artists who were morphed and raised by the influential events of their lives. From this their claylike essence shapes into the driving force that is the artistic soul.


My "artist type" would be the third one. My artistic soul did not naturally grow from the blessed soil, and it is not from solid, severe dedication. I was shaped by the events in my life...and that is where my drive comes from.

I am afraid that this is not enough.
Do I have what it takes to be called an artist? Am I enough of a prophet to take on this task? Am I strong and dedicated enough to take on this weight?

I fear that I am lacking.

I may fear for no good reason, or maybe I am rightfully worried, either way, any words of wisdom are welcomed.

And he looked at me strangely, as if it was absurd for me to not give fiddy cents to strangers.

Yeah so anyway, I was at Balboa Park museum to look at this really cool exhibit of Georgia O'Keefe and other woman artists of that time period. It was really cool! I wasn't there for too long, but I really enjoyed seeing the artwork. I've never seen O'Keefe's work up close and in person, so it was a real treat.

Well, I was at home about to leave for school with my brother, and then at school there was an announcment from the principal about what was happening. A lot of people's parents were calling the school so they could let their kids come home or coming for their kids. My brother and I walked home.

I haven't used a vending machine in a long time..but if they steal I kick them. Hard.

4) Do you consider yourself kind?
Yeah. I try to be, at least.

I wouldn't.

Italian or Hawaiian. Maybe French. ...Latin!

Half and half. It depends what mood I'm in! But after I take a bath...I usualyl rinse off for a minute in the shower, cause, I was just bathing in my own filth.

Occasionally. Like, pink and red and black and blue and purple and a shiney moon-color stuffs.

I dunno. Not usually, but at the same time I am opptomistic and trust people until proven that they cannot be trusted...but then again I am selective about who I would tell something to if I already have the feeling they can't be trusted. :/

I don't have a phobia...I don't like when things are too close to my eyes, if that counts. And I'm afraid to have kids/be a mother.

No.

Oh, last summer I had mentioned in a journal that I was taking a hardcore AP art class in my 10th grade year. I passed with a 3/5 on my art portfolio. The grade is respectable, not amazing, but it really is a demanding class. It's graded by real college board officials. I learned so much, and I am taking the class again this year as an 11th grader! I hope I can learn even more. My art teacher tells me he is proud of me, I'm proud of me, and what matters is that I'm learning. I really consider myself an artist. Art is so much more than the flick of the wrist, or the click of a camera, the stroke of a brush...the list can go on. I cannot even begin to explain to you how much art means to me.

Speaking of 11th grade, I've started school. Friday the 22nd will mark my third day as a Junior. Being a Sophomore was simply awesome, due to the classes, friends, teachers, and my outlook on life, and I hope I can have another important year.

Also speaking of art, I have "accomplished" a few things this year. I've been published in my school's newspaper and magazine, I took an AP art class, my artwork will be featured in a restaurant-gallery later this year, I've applied to summer programs for colleges and been accepted with scholarships, and gotten on waiting lists consisting of 30 students after narrowing the choices down from thousands of applicants. Those are material things...yeah, they mean something, it shows that I can apply myself as an artist to "the real world" but, I can't say I really find them important. It's cool, I should be proud, but I can never really live in the moment when it comes to my artwork. I make it, I learn from it, and I am never satisfied. As soon as I finish a piece, I am creating another, to become better, to better express myself, to learn who I am. I never stop! I've spent at least 300 hours drawing or creating art from July 2007 - July 2008, and I feel it is not enough. I am never done.

I've known this person for many years...we've been good friends, and we've only been becoming closer! I just really want to thank her for kindness and compassion. She's really great fun; we joke around all the time...but we also have completely serious conversations, as friends do. I consider her one of my best friends and I just hope she knows that I really appreciate all she's done for me. She really deserves to eat a giant heaping bowl of desaert in a fancy russian restraunt that also serves a rare entree of purpke. ;D

I'm using the computer in the Comfort Inn's lobby :0 I'm in Minnesota, USA, currently. Visiting my dad for the summer. I'm pretty bummed though, cause my dad and I have a lot of problems ;;>.> Not that you need me to delve into that monster-infested hell hole. (parents are divorced, years of unimaginable problems, seriously I am not exaggerating, and with my dad is the last place I want to be)

Yeah I am being faced with the major issue of changing parental custody permenantly, this has happened before but it was never too much of a serious problem. The court is really thinking about moving me and my little brother to my dad's residence. :c

It has been prominant in the past several months. I've always loved trees and drawn them since I was little, just some strange on-going infatuation, but especially recently.

Why!?

I have no idea. Well, I have an idea, but it is not 100 percent pinpointed and understood yet. So I am on a journey to find out why, exactly.

It's a bit dreamlike to think that one more year has passed. So many things of the year 2007 seem distant...

I've had a pretty good year I think. Well, the last 3/4 of my year were very nice, late February to May was not so great, but everything else compensating quite nicely and I enjoyed it very much.

I hope you made the most of 2007 and I hope you continue to do so. Remember, we're only here once!!! Get what you want done!!!

Anyway, this is the last few hours of my subscription. Quite frankly, I sorta wasted it and didn't make the best of it...but nontheless, it was very fun to have. Glad I bought it.

Okay, I'm going to my dad's house for winter break, so I won't be on much. Like, maybe twice for the whole two weeks. Just to check in really. There won't be any art then.

You know, sorry for not being online very much. I've been trying very hard in school, and it's paying off pretty well. I'm talking to people at my school more often, and opening up and making new friends. I've had the same group of friends for the past several years, not that there is anything wrong with that but we seem to become a bit more distant with every year. I have found people in my grade that are very fun to talk to and hang out with, and or surprisingly have a lot in common with.

I've a very quiet, shy and shut off person. But in the past few months, I've been changing inside. I've become very close friends with a couple new(ish) people. It is well needed, for me to grow and stay healthy internally and emotionally. I really have grown attatched to you all. I've known some of you for years, and you have all proved to be greater then friends in one way or another. Don't get me wrong, I throughly respect and appreciate your company, thoughts and friendship. It has really meant a lot to me.

But I will be online less and less. I'm trying to spend my time wisely, and wandering aimlessly on the internet is not exactly my idea of wise. This doesn't mean I will completely stay off though. My time will be limited. Please don't get the idea that I do not like you or are trying to avoid you.

So...

Um, I've decided that I'm going to take a bit of a break from the internets again. I probably won't be on much for the rest of December and probably January.

School is fine, in fact I'm doing well in it, and I would like to continue that. I've got some good grades...and I get all my homework done, and I'm managing my time fairly well. I just need to keep it that way.

I'll pop in here and then, only for a few minutes to answer a few messages or upload something, but nothing much else.

I'm taking a break from fanart for a while as well. I'll still doodle it and what not, but if I draw digitally from now on it will 85% most likely be for my art portfolio for my AP Studio Art class. I have 9/12 pieces finished...but a few of the 9 I don't really like. I technically only need to finish three pieces but I would like to replace the ones I don't like. Oh, and a few journal entries back I had said each piece needs to take 10+ hours to complete, my teacher was accidentally mistaken on that. Whoopsies.

So yeah anyway. I'll see all of you when I see you. I don't mean to fly, but life is a busy, busy place.

P.S: wow it was raining so hard yesterday in San Diego (we rarely get good rain). Part of the school was flooded and I had to jump over and walk through miniature lakes just to get to PE class where we commensed to do 100 army style pushups. My whole body is sore aww. After being outside for three minutes it looked like I had taken a shower. I was soaked yay. Oh, and I recently got a hair cut. Over 7 inches of hair was cut off.

SAN DIEGO AND LOS ANGELES ARE ON FIRE LITERALLY

There are at least 14 uncontrolled fires in San Diego alone, not counting LA. There are almost 100 small spot fires, not any danger as long as the wind doesn't pick up.

WOW

One of my friends already evacuated her house and another might have to.

The sky is gray and smoky, and there is a bit of an orange glow like a sunset, but it's still afternoon. Ashes are sprinkling from the sky, and in a few hours it'll prolly start to 'rain' ash. The whole house smells like a BBQ pit and outside is hot and even worse. Last night my windows were rattling because of the wind.

The odd thing was, the other day I was drawing grass and mountains on fire and not yesterday but the day before I was thinking that someplace would set on fire. Now look what I did. As ~ritishique said in our earlier conversation, "CHOCCY, MY DEAR, IT SEEMS YOU CAN COMMIT ARSON THROUGH TELEPATTHIC WAVES".


Well, I should be fine. I doubt I will have to evacuate, but if I do, see all you guys later.

I've been really busy with school stuffs...

I'm actually doing really well in my maths class surprisingly...I've got the 4th highest grade in the class. I had to teach myself everything though, 'cause our teacher is a lousy incompetant fool...with a twitching wart on her right eyelid and an annoying accenty-type-thing

I play Super Smash Brothers Melee nearly 'bout every weekend with my brother...he kicks my arse at it lololol. I use Yoshi, Kirby and Bowser mainly...Oh, and Dr. Mario 'cause he's awesome lololol

I do mah homeworks too...which reminds me, I've got like 2 art projects to finish for class :I

I'm about half way or 3/4's done with one of them (hint: it's pixelling work oshi-)...and I have to get started on the next imeadiately (don't bother me about spelling today hmph). I've also got about 2 or 3 other pics started...it's quite uncommon of me considering I usually only have one project started at a time. Ahh, the magic of multi-tasking.

ANYWAYS SORRY TO BE A BORE

Umm...yeah...wut.

I've been obsessed with drawing Team 11 ½ lately...I still can't Mekai's exact design right...but it'll be done soon. And pokemon. I've been drawing so many pokemon since summer months...I have this really awesome picture of a pokemon lineup I sketched a couple weeks ago. As lame as I am I started over in Pokemon Silver, and named my protagonist character 'Hian'...as in Hian my OC. I made his lineup based on his whole personality and how he is a poison-maker and stuff. It won't make much sense now because I have yet to finish writing his story...so wait till then, please? :3 But anyway, the pic I sketched is of Mekai's imaginary lineup, if she were a pokemon trainer...yeah. If my Gold version still worked (the internal saving battery broke or sumtin) I would name my character Mekai...

Ho Hum.

I've just finished the pre-season workout palooza this week for Cross-Country. We ran about...14 miles not including warm-ups and cool-downs from Monday through Friday. Whooooooooo.

Good news: Taking a mega super spectacular ultra magical AP art class this year...it's going to be very, very challenging, talent-wise.

Bad news: We must have a completed portfolio at the end of the year, in May-June. We have to have, 50 completed pieces or something insane. If that's insane...wait till you hear that each piece must have at least 10 hours of work on it. Preferably 20 hours. Ohwait I just told you hur hur.

Good news: The bad news is actually good news for a few reasons. I'll be putting my talent, patience, and mind to the test. I know I can do it, but it'll be one of the most challenging things I've done in a while. I'm not going to slack off or put things off. I'm going to get this thing done and done right. Hopefully.

Bad news: This bad news is actually bad news. Since I must have many pieces done, I have to be drawing and completing a piece nearly every week. All free time must be aimed to these art pieces. I'll need to carry them with me, so they'll probably be all traditional art. Pencil, colored pencil, water colors, crayons, markers, and the whole bunch. So savor the digital while it lasts. While drawing traditional though, I'll have about 1-3 other projects in the works, some digital though. No free time means less computer goofing off time.

So yeah...Not much else to say. Sorry. I might edit if I've got something.

I really enjoy my time on here. I've gotten some really special people around me, and I thank you for it.

My mom was able to get it for like...1/20 of the price, which is ridiculously cheap. It's my early birthday present, and it's all ready on my computer for me to use. It's actually kind of funny because in exactly one month it's my birthday.

Summer break is here.

I just can't believe it really...9th grade (I was a freshman) is already over. It...it was just so fun! Last year as an 8th grader really stunk for me...I was just having a hard time in life in general...but 9th grade...was amazing. I've actually not really minded the increased homework or harder tests. Yeah, everyone hates their homework because it keeps them from doing other things, but besides that fact I don't mind.

I learned so much this year, not neccessarily fact wise, but just life lessons and stuff.

I'm just really going to miss it. It feels likes yesterday...buying all the books and paper...finding classes on campus...new teachers... *sigh*

I also have to take a summer class for biology, hmm. Oh well.



But anyway, I can't wait for summer break to speed up! I want to draw so much, and I can't wait to spend some quality time exercising my skills on paint/painchat.

I really want to enter more contests on neopets too. Not for fame or anything, but I've seriously considered becoming a professional artist of some kind, and saying that I've been winning art contests online since I was 13 could only help me and add to my portfolio.

Also...a litle surprise, but I might be going to Sony animation studios as a guest in the next week. My mom is good friends with one of the head guys over there, and he says he would love to let me come and see the actual studio (where they draw and everything!) for a few days. Well, I can't wait. I'm gonna catch up on sleep, play video games (Kirby/Smash Bros/Pokemon) with my brothers, draw, draw, and draw, and spend time with the family. Go to the beach, swim at the pool, take evening runs...ahh...what fun.

I've been conflicting with myself about my art and abilities for the past several months...and it's really bothering me.

I know that I have some talent, and I try to use it and improve so I can grow as an artist, but whenever I look back at my art; from a year or a month ago, I feel hindered.

I make mistakes in my art all the time, such as making a human face too long, or drawing the bend in an animal's hind leg at the wrong part, or something small and fixable like that, but when I look back at my art, I feel like it's absolutely horrible and disturbing.

I know practice makes perfect...err, better, but that's not really my problem.

People at school tell me that I'm a good drawer, my art teacher, mom, brothers...friends, everyone tells me I'm good! And I know I have potential, but am I really that good? I take a look at older people's art, and think to my self, "Why aren't people saying how good they are? Why am I so special? I have no talent comparred to them! Their anatomy, shading, porportions, perspective...is so PERFECT! AUGH!"

When I look at younger people's art I see that they have talent, I think that people should give them the credit, for being so talented at such a young age!
But when I look at my art from that age (5, 9, 11... etc) I think that it's horrible! It doesn't look like anything!


Some people say that true artists can't recognize their own skill...but I don't even think of myself as a true artist half the time... -_-;


I'm just really confused with myself...so if any one could please offer some insight, I would really appreciate it.


Also, just a random question that has been living in the back of mind for a while...is my art style identifiable? Does it look like every other drawing you've seen? Or does my art have certain characteristics that makes it recognizable? (example: my shading, the way I sketch before lineart, porportions, poses...anything!!)

This is an okay picture for the age I drew it at...I was I think 12...and I was still trying to learn how to use MS paint...so, it's okay. But not good.

I used to think this was good, except a few errors (legs too short, face a little weird looking..etc) But now I think it's horrible. I want to kick him in the face. It would probably look better than it does now. D8 However, I actually really like the shading, and his hands look really good.


I like this one just because it was really fun to draw. I was experimenting with poses and colors...But the anatomy is teh SUXORZ. Except Amy's and Katie's. Sorry Emma, ours are the worst. We all look really weird, too.

Nope. I'm somewhat close on my Crystal version, though.

YEAH! It was the shit then. Umm, Misty, Brock and Jesse/James were my favorites.

No. If the older ones were still on then I might sit down for a random episode once in a while for old times sake. The new ones all suck, no offense. :C

Hmm, water probably. Close to grass. I've always loved these pokemon because I feel connected to water and earthy stuff and 'cause they can kick major ass. X3

That's a hard choice as I have a few favorites but one of them is Gyarados. They're giant water serpents, what's not to love? Nyaaaah and Venusaurs. They're flowering dinosaurs!

8) Which Pokemon do you dislike the most? Explain.
Probably that rock pokemon with the huge nose in the sapphire version because it's hideous. I don't even know it's name. XD

9) Which is your favourite region? Explain.
Kanto and Johto, because they have the BEST pokemon there. And the games were fun to play in those regions and the television shows were the best when everyone was in Kanto/Johto.

Kanto and Johto because the pokemon aren't dumb looking and actually have thought put into them. >.>

Hmm, I used to a long time ago. But I forgot Pokedex numerical order. I just know the names now.

I think so, for the most part. I might have a brain fart once in a while though.

Before. I don't like nearly any of the new ones. (Johto through Kanto are the best, if you haven't heard me say that already)

No, not exactly an OC. I always used to pretend that I was a trainer though. I had fake pokeballs that I would attatch to my belt loops when I was playing with my friends.

Not an OC, but I guess so. It was me!

And second, I haven't updated in FOREVAH, and I hope to update with some stuff soon. Believe it or not, I haven't even touched my tablet in like 2 or 3 months. I've just been so busy lately. As soon as I have some time, I'll try and draw some computer stuff for updation. (lolz, new words)

And third, school is only a few more weeks for me, which means packing in studing, tieing up loose ends with any homework assignments and whatnot, and EXAMS. I'll probably do alright, as I usually do, but I still am stressed.

I won't be on very often, if you haven't noticed already, probably only on a Tuesday, Friday or Saturday. Sorry. :C

And before school ends I'll bug my art teacher to go let me scan some stuff and then you'll have some scratches, doodles, sketches, and all around crap to entertain yourself with.

I swear, my doodles are getting more and more random and strange looking. You know, the whole hugegynormus bulgy eyes, sharp teeth, noodle arms, and odd catch phrases like 'YOU SMELL OF CHEDDAR'. You'll know what I mean *if* I have the chance to update. D|

Little changes here and there, the game room got a makeover, a few images are updated. Stuff like that, which is no problem at all.

But then I log in, after a hard day at school, and see that the site is really, really weird looking.

I refresh.

No change.

Again, I refresh, thinking that maybe I actually typed 'neopets' wrong in the address bar.

Nope, I was right.

So, I log in. WTF. I am so pissed off and misled about something so silly as a change in one of my favorite websites.

I look at various things, noticing how MUCH THEY PISS ME OFF. AUGH. Remember when you created your pets and they asked you the stupid question "what would your neopets do when they meet another" or "their hobbies are..."?

I was like, 11 or 12 when I did that, and everything was happy sunshine with no thought about my pets personalities whatsoever. Now the whole world can see how much of a stupid kid I was.

I can't even see my lookup anymore. I see a whole bunch or random crap like the shopkeeper I chose for this month.

What good does that do?

I completely understand that this is the year 2007, not 1999 or whenever neopets was first invented, and that TNT has to make some changes to keep today's picking children entertained, but come on. This is a drastic change that is seriously making me think of leaving.

I love neopets. The fluffy little creatures that I doodle all over my binders sometimes, the freedom you have to design and create these little pixel pets. It's really fun, and neopets has actually helped me devlop artistically and helped me become a bit more interested in pursueing my creative writing skills. But this...

is too much.

If I'm not on so much, don't hate me please.

Also, finals are coming up so I have to study anyway, so my absence might not mean that I'm gone from neo. Just tending to more important things.

I couldn't do like...any of my homework over break because I was in Minnesota for 2 weeks. Technically 13 days. 1 day to do homework assignments ment for 14 days. I GET A NOTE NYANYA.

Why?

Because I can't take 6 textbooks without going over the luggage fee. And I can't do that because my parents are only allowed to spend a certain amount of money for the tickets because they're court-ordered. Because of the divorce.

This journal is just to serve as an alert to all my friends and watchers.

I'm letting you know that I'm on my spring break for two weeks, and I'm spending it at my dad's house. I haven't seen him for the past year and a half, considering he was in Iraq for 9 months and he lives in a different state. And of course all my step and half siblings. Whoo!

However, I won't have near unlimited access to a computer like in California. My dad or step-mom's laptop are mainly for job business stuffies, and it's not like I can be like, "LA DEE DA, COMPY TIME FOR MEEE."

I gotta ask.

Ah well, not a problem. Even though I LOVE the compy, it's too addictive and it would probably serve me well if I stay off it for a while.

Geesh, that was the beginning of a mini-rant. Glad I stopped myself.

...So, yeah. I worked out at the gym today. I ran a few miles (more liked jogged because I'm out of shape, herher) and took a swim, and sat in a sauna for a few minutes.

Went grocery shopping and accidentaly dropped my necklace down the drain, while ironically trying to prevent myself from dropping it down the sink.

Umm, haven't watched any of the new Naruto shippuden eppys in a few weeks. Waiting anxiously for new Avatar, and have occupied any tv time by swooning over CSI. *is in love with the goryness*

Picked weeds in my backyard, for like, 4 hours. Every spring in CA we get a bajillion weeds from nowhere. If it wasn't for the fact that spontaneous generation was disproved so long ago I might believe that it's true.

I won't be drawing anything digital for a while. At least I've updated with some stuff in the past month though...You might get some writing exerts if anything.

So yep. I guess I didn't stop my rant after all.

First off, I have the greatest ideas right now for several different things, but I just can't draw anything. I pick up my pencil, pen, stylus and mouse, but nothing comes out. Anything that does happen to come out is absoulte doo doo and makes me want to run around screaming or slam my head against a wall.

Second, I don't want to be a whiny little spoilt child but I feel like my resources SUCK. I am mainly a traditional artist but in the past 1-2 years I've been drawing on the computer a lot more. I have no scanner, and the only time I would have access to one is if I ask my art teacher at school or my friend who might be able to once in a while. The only program for drawing on the computer I have is Microsoft Paint, which don't get me wrong is the perfect thing for maybe Neopet adoptables or icons but otherwise is not the sort of program most people would want to use for a large project that includes soft shading and glowy effects. I do have access for internet programs like PaintChat and I love that program and use it all the time, except for the fact that it is broken and I can't use it. I have a tablet, which makes actual drawings so much easier, and a mouse is great for pixel work and various things, so I'm set with drawing utensils...it's just the actual programs. I'm thinking about saving my money and buying Adobe Photoshop though, but it'll take a while to do.

My art block is also seeping into my writing ability. I thought that since I am having so much trouble with my drawing, that I might just write some neopets stories or reply to a few roleplays/comments that are rotting in my inbox. But noooooo I have lost my ability to write as well as draw. Just perfect.

And just to add upon my perfect predicament, I think my allergies are acting up. I pretty much only get sick once or twice a year, seriously, I just don't ever get sick. But when I do get sick...it really really sucks. I usually have major allergies and asthma crap and miss a week of school and go to the doctors'. It only starts out with maybe a sneezeing fit, and itchy eyes and then, WHAMO, I am sick. For the past week my eyes have been itchy and watery and I have been sneezing a lot. My head feels heavy and I want to kick something across the room. This is one of the main reasons why I hate spring, and not to mention I have been totally jipped from winter once again. In southern California, there is no winter. From fall to spring, the tempurature barely fluctuates and in summer it is blazing friggin' hot.

Earlier on I went to YouTube to watch Shippuden for Naruto which everyone is saying is friggin' awesome, so I wait a couple minutes letting it load and when I go to watch the episode, it wouldn't work. So I go downstairs and watch some CSI which was the best thing today and I felt like doing fanart but realized I had an art block and COULDN'T. But I do have to say that CSI TOTALLY PWNED EVERYTHING AND I NEARLY SQUEALED WITH FANGIRLISM WHILE I WATCHED IT.

*trots back downstairs to watch more CSI joyness*

The internet and computer to me should be something that I need to do less of, and only in controlled rations. I should go on when I want to accomplish something, not just to waste my time and fill my schedule. If I want to play a few games, sure, not a problem. Have a roleplay I should respond too, go ahead. Painchat for an hour? Of course. These things don't bother me, because I am actually doing something that is productive. However, sometimes I go on after school and just sit in my chair, doing nearly nothing. The computer and internet as a whole is a marvelous invention, but sometimes I feel lazy and listen to the the minutes of my life tick away.

I know that staying away will be a little difficult in the begining, but after a week it won't be so straining.

And what do I plan to do with my 'spare' time?

1. I need to start re-running again. I haven't run properly since November. I used to run 4 times a week, 3-4-miles per session. Now I feel accomplished if I run once a week, for only 2 miles. I'm decomissioned, and need to get back into tip-top shape. I used to feel all natural and on a constant 'high'. I felt great, but now I feel like a sack of useless meat that walks around, or rather sits and stares at a computer screen.

2. Draw and paint more often. I doodle all the time, but I feel that I'm letting my potential talent decompose. I need to spend some time every week and draw some real art. I want to try some painting techniques as well. I can always have my friend or art teacher scan it for me and eventually update it to dev.

3. Homework, homework, homework. I always complete nearly every assignment I'm given, but sometimes I feel ashamed when I hand in low quality work, when I have the potential to give something really well though out. I know that college is a ways from now, but I could always do better and have a better chance to be accepted. I'm not exactly sure what I want to be, but it's best to do your best in everything and have the legisure to pick whatever you want and be promised a job in it.

4. I've been slacking on random house things lately. I haven't done as many chores as I used too, and I think I should spend a little more time with my mom and younger brother. I feel like I'm taking more than I'm giving from my family enviornment.

A note to all my computer friends:
Don't feel like I'm avoiding you or anything. I just feel that I need to remanage my time a bit. And besides, I'll still be on, I'm not leaving completely!

I hope everyone has had, is having or will have a great holiday. Today is Christmas Eve and Friday was the last night of Hanukkah. Ramadan was over I don't know when, and Kwanzaa starts on the 26th. But have a good holiday!!

I just got done reading A Series of Unfortunate Events: The End by Lemony Snicket. That book series is one of my favorite series. EVER.
Except I was severely dissapointed by the last book. Grr, I have some questions about the whole series and now its over. FOREVER.
I still suggest you read it. <3
My mom got me some fun extra books by L, one called The Unauthorized Autobiography and the other a puzzle book called the Puzzling Puzzles. I love the PP book so much. Gawd, the puzzles are hilarious. For example, you were supposed to translate a nursery rhyme that was very complicated into something a small child would understand.
The easiest one was this:

I've been practicing for a couple hours, and I have like, 1/4 of Chronos Cross song called Time Scar down. Nyeh, it's really fun to play even though it's difficult. Check it out!

Q1: Why are you called ‘Parietaleclipse’?
A1: I made a journal [link]
about it a long time ago, and even if it doesn’t make any sense to you it does to me. Besides, it is a cool name, no? I also have a character named ‘Parietaleclipse’ that is undergoing construction.

Q2: Why is your nickname ‘Choccy’?
A2: When I first started actually using the internet a couple years ago, my internet alias was ‘Chocolate’. Some friends and I eventually used a cool shorthand version called ‘Choccy’, and even ‘Chocs’ for fun. But please, call me Choccy.

Q3: How long have you been using the internet, or more specifically deviantart and neopets?
A3: I started the internet the same time I started neopets, sometime back in September 2004 when I was a small, pathetic 12 year old. I started deviantart in February 2005, when I was a slightly less pathetic 13 year old.

Q4: Why do you draw?
A4: Why would I not draw? I love it! I’ve been practicing ever since I was able to hold a pencil in my hand, and I practice every day if possible. I enjoy drawing a lot, and it is a very healthy hobby in my opinion.

Q5: What medias do you use?
A5: Well, in my deviantart account you will mainly see digital media, and every once in a while a traditional piece. I don’t have a scanner so the only art you’ll pretty much have the chance to view are all my digital pieces. I use my school scanner for the traditional pieces, just so you know. More specifically, I use Microsoft paint for the majority of my pieces, and occasionally you will see some ‘PaintChat’ doodles. Outside of the internet, I always have my sketchbook or loose paper and my pencil or black pen with me so I can jot down my little scribbles throughout the day. It’s what keeps me alive, honestly.

Anyway, relaxing on Saturday evening, enjoying the music and a new food dish I made. I sliced several carrots, roasted seasame seeds and peanuts, and poured a light amount of soy sauce over it. Yum yum. Drinking ice cold water and eating this stuff is tasty. I was going to have a nice long run tonight, but I was too lazy.
Been drawing all day too, just finished an awesome collaboration with Ritishique.
I'm in different stages for several drawings right now, some things are being colored, and some are still sketches. I need several things to work on at a time, or else I implode.
Played a couple neopets games, earned about 12k. I'm a bit rusty because it had been a while since the last time I spent any time playing neopets. Watched a small ammount of television today too, mostly some Robot Chicken I had recorded. They make me laugh. I'm such a nerd.

Friday: Yay, school is over. Time for the compy. I also cleaned the guest bathroom and did the dished. The trash was taken out to. Smelly.

Saturday: Ah yes, the wondeful vege out day and sit on our butts. Yay for the compy once again.

Sunday: Dang. Lots of chores. Cleaned the upstairs bathroom, dishes, trash, recycling, wash the cats, vacuum the house, and homework.

Monday: School...and stuff. Nothing much.

I've been having a great time with my little brother recently. We've been having more and more in common, and its making me really happy cus we used to hate each others guts.
I show him my sketchbook and laugh at my ridiculous doodles of Naruto, Avatar, Monty Python and Harry Potter. We watch/read all of those things. Also, we both can recite over 3 dozen random quotes, inside jokes and what not. Some are made up, and some are taken or derived from tv shows, books, songs and anything else. I am done with episode 125 in Naruto, and am waiting for some more episodes to download. Its at 60.2% right now, and should be done around Mondayish and I am able to watch around Tuesdayish. Fweee~

I got a TABLET! OMGWTHBBQ! I just got to finish uploading all the wonderful software and then I can use it! xD My art won't be so cruddy now.

I am busy during the week, for several reasons. I have Cross Country practice from 2:45 till 4:15. I live a long ways from school, and I have to beat the traffic so I get home around 5:00 - 5:30. It depends. Then I eat dinner and finish homework and stuff, take a shower and sleep. I usually only have like 30 minutes to do something fun like answer deviantart messages, or doodle or something.

Which reminds me, I drew the cutest picture of Lee and I am going to copy it to the computer soon. >D

I was working out today to prepare for CC practice on Monday..And it was fun! D:
I did 200 crunches, 20 pushups, 20 situps, and 50 leg/ab lifts. :3 I also had on 2 pound weights on my wrists and 5 pound weights on my ankles. Tee hee, if I didn't have to go to bed I would do 300 more crunches! wtf, call me crazy.

I also remembered that Lee wears weights. I am way too obsessed. -_-;

I can do characters from anime and cartoon shows, semi-realistic or maybe even realistic drawings. Try not to have too many characters and stuff floating around in the drawing, because I do have school and homework to tend to. I am going back to school on the 28th. I start 9th grade/highschool. I will be a freshman. I haven't really done anything this summer. Moving on.

I now watch the totally awesome show called Naruto. I am around episode 50, and I watch the episodes in Japanese. So HAHA, I get to see all the goryness that is censored on American television.
I am currently making a Naruto fan-character, and she is practically going to be me Naruto-style. Just because Ninja stuff is totally awesome, doesn't mean they're better than pirates.


Oh ya, I pretty much like all the characters, but Sasuke can get pretty irritating with his whole "I need to go destroy a certain someone, nerrr..." routine. Also, Sakura doesn't deserve Lee, as she never does anything while Naruto and Saskue are dying on the battlefield. Lee is just hilarious.

Lee: *pokes Sasuke* YOUTH, POWER, EXPLODE!!!!!

Sakura: AHHHH! SASUKE-KUN, don't die! *cries*

Sasuke: -_-;

Naruto: Ah, Sakura? Bushy-Eyebrows only poked Sasuke..

Kakashi: *thinking* That's Gai's student? >3<

Ah well, gotta have a diversity of characters to make the whole series worthwhile. *pokes Lee's eyebrows*

The funny thing is, I've seen the first 5 episodes when they came out, I just never really payed any attention to it. The same thing happened with Avatar: TLA. But I contently watch both series now. I also will be having an Avatar: TLA fan-character too. She is also going to practically be me in a series style.

I might get a tablet for my birthday, which is on the 14th of September. W00t! The I can draw a lot better things, without it taking 5 billion hours to draw a 1 hour picture.

Well, with very simple research you would already know. But, assuming you don't do the research to find your answers, I will do it for you.

Basically, first, I would look up the definition of the 2 words, parietal and eclipse. I use dictionary.com and the dictionary, but since we are already on the good ol' computer, just use dictionary.com.

Let us start with the second word of my name, eclipse:

Eclipse: noun

1. The partial or complete obscuring, relative to a designated observer, of one celestial body by another.
2. The period of time during which such an obscuration occurs.
3. A temporary or permanent dimming or cutting off of light.

So, by reading the definition above, we can figure that eclipse is basically the covering up of something. Alrighty then, that is solved, but what about the word parietal?

Parietal: adjective

1. Relating to or forming the wall of a body part, organ, or cavity.
2. Of or relating to either of the parietal bones.
3. Botany. Borne on the inside of the ovary wall. Used of the ovules or placentas in flowering plants.
4. Dwelling within or having authority within the walls or buildings of a college.

...I am going to tell you straight off that these definitions are WRONG. If you are wondering why I am leading you on a false research rampad, is because I am basically leading you to the average way of translation.

Sooo, I would go to the wonderful internet search engine, google, and look up parietal, or even wikipedia and search parietal.

If you choose google, you will see several sources that all have to do with the brain. That's nice, but since google has so many things to choose from, and could lead to the wrong definition, I suggest wikkipedia.

Alright, we type in parietal and it should show several options on what parietal would be. The first option suggests the parietal lobe. I suggest you click it.

Let's read it shall we?

"The parietal lobe plays important roles in integrating sensory information from various senses, and in the manipulation of objects. Portions of the parietal lobe are involved with visuospatial processing. Much less is known about this lobe than the other three in the cerebrum."

Sounds cool, doesn't it?

Well, now that we know the meanings of both the words, parietal and eclipse, we should now be able to put them together and...voila, come up with my username.

I'll finish this journal entry later cus I am have so much nothing to do I can't sit still. But, since someone -coughemmacough- wants me to finished it, I will. ^__^

Well, now that I am out of school, I can do a whole bunch of stuff. I've already started. I've been playing Super Smash Brothers for N64 with my 18 year-old brother, who whoops my butt like there is no tomorrow. However, my 20 year-old brother came over for something but ended up playing Smash Bros with us. We only have 2 controllers though. So, I whooped my 20 year-old brother and my 18 year-old brother whooped both of us.

I've also been looking for a good book to read, but haven't found one yet. Dangit.

Well, I have a lot of nothing to do this summer, so...um, ya.

Anyway, back to the bath-time for cats, they are so adorable, even when grumpy and wet. Wiggy loves the bath, and loves being dried, Itchy hates the bath, and hates being dried even more, and Piggy loves the bath, but can't hold still to be dried. I got all wet because Itchy kept trying to jump outta the tub. x.x

Well, enough of my boring and useless words, and back to studying for my finals for school. I have one more week left! Yay! But studying proves to be difficult. Nuuu!
