Over here it's a little while after midnight, so it's the 23rd, which is a very meaningful day to me. A certain amazing guy's birthday. *two hours go by* Sorry, I disappeared for two hours to write and send an email But I had to do it.

The 23rd is also the birthday of a gorgeous friend of mine! So it's the perfect opportunity to display a giftpic she did for me the other day, of two of my cutie-pie characters, Melle and Robert :

I'll be throwing a whole lotta musical deviations into today's journal. But first, the advert for my latest completed commish which does feature piano/celesta keys and a guitar plectrum and two musically gifted horses (humans as horses nicknamed Opal and Furrari here Plus they are Polar and Oid). I don't really have any updates right now. My life-projects are still incomplete and all that. And that includes my dear book, which I am continuing to edit. And no I don't have a release date. Heh, it isn't even about making money out of it. I wish I could give it away free to whoever... deserves ... it Someone recently called it special since I told her it is so linked to my own life and more specifically my own love. And I know it may be considered arrogant to consider one's own work special, but it truly is. Special! Not arrogant Which doesn't mean much right now. And there's not much point me trying to explain myself either.

And yeah I know I haven't uploaded anything lately. If I have something worthy of uploading, I will. But I can't be a model 'deviantArtist' like you guys. Just an enigma,

South Africa lost to New Zealand in the rugby today Okay, time to get over it. I mean, we're still the world champions for another, like 3+ years! Last weekend was better, when we beat Argentina. Sorry *fernyxferny ! Yes, I'm the one person who is totally out of touch with the Olympics, yet still watches sporty stuff. (Not that I think sport is the answer to happiness, it's more of... an escape during these dodgy times.)

Anyway, hello to all my buds I hope you're doing okay. Yep I know many of you are not, and I can relate to that. And as I always say, I am sorry about that. Things will turn, for the better and the best... They will. So yeah, just keep going and following your feelings!

Hmmm I realised lately, that Random Faves on one's profile page is not so random after all. I think their randomizer only chooses from your latest faves, to make it easier to not have to go through 50 pages of your faves etc. Which means I'll never see most of my older faves pop up. This forced me to organise them into collections I thought I'd never do that! But anyway, so having done that, it made me want to advertise some of my fave faves here. This excludes faves already on my shoutboard and faves I've praised in my journals recently. Please note they're not my faves because of any well-known characters in them, but because I admired the style and quality of the deviation, the picture connected with me in good ways. And I know a lot of them are well-viewed already (but not all!!), so I'm not trying to collect extra views for those, I just thought a few of you might find one or two you'd also really like there!

I love it when someone is amazing at drawing both horses and humans. That must be, like, TOO talented! Well actually I know all my special friends are 'too'/two talented (more than talented) even if they don't realise it yet! Do you know that people can be talented at love? Yeah really, I do believe that. So what's awesome is when someone can really put love, care and warmth not just ability into their art.

Anyway I mainly initiated this journal to publicly thank (aka Pirate) for the two awesome pictures she drew for me recently. This portrait below is of Robert (who is the black horse in my journal header) and he's also the light buckskin one in the FourFun picture lower down. The one wearing the guitar plectrum around his neck. Yes that's what it is! She used her own photography for the background, of the lovely Austrian mountains! Thanks also to Pirate (aka Trixi) for loving Robert, it always means a lot when someone loves a character of mine. I don't get that happening much yet. So

OMG I'm starting to sound obsessed

I just wanted to... say thank you to her and show my admiration for not just the quantity of QUALITY art she produces, but also... her warmth.

I was thinking of featuring more art here now, but I'll do that in a few days instead. I mean art mainly from my friends, but as I've said before I don't usually find there to be VERY much point considering not many people read my journals. Still... if I want to feature just out of love, then I will.

Oh and by the way, I survived the dentist/hygienist today! Hah! Who else can claim to have achieved THAT feat! Okay maybe it's just one toy really! I have a new computer Oh thank the heavens/guardian angels/divine beings Gah, I really needed it because my old one was killing me. Slow as hell in many areas and no sound. Those were the main problems, I guess. My version of Windows was older than some of the people on dA. (Anyone ever heard of Windows 95?) Oh the shame...

Anyway so everything is black. I was going to keep my old keyboard because it works well (and it certainly had a bigger 'Enter' key than this one ), but it was incompatible with the new hard drive. A relief really since it was that weird old computer colour, scruffy and, well, it doesn't say 'Genius' on it. My new one also has a lovely symbol right at the top. Especially for me. Yah right. Anyway the new keyboard totally matches my black and silver "faith stone", which I keep on my keyboard. (For good luck ) It is a flat heavy 'stone' with Faith written on it... I also have a red lucky bean seed (like Sean's holding in the last pic in this journal). But don't worry, I don't rely on objects to save my life and bring me happiness haha.

Oh and my new speakers came with a subwoofer! Woof! And Okay that was my cue to play the CD in the DVD drive again. ("Who I Am" by Garth Taylor - gogetit gogetit) Shuffle mode this time Sorry I'm being oversilly in this journal again. *Sigh* What's new? ("Cos I know I would die without the air I breathe, it's you..." From the song, "Why")

Anyway so now I'm more likely to leave longer comments under deviations (and journals) hahahaha cos I don't have to wait ten minutes for the lag to finish. Only selected deviations though So don't get too excited

Yesterday I got the original of In Tune (that pastel drawing of RhYthm and RhYme) from the post office and now it is safely behind bars, I mean glass! has just finished another awesome work of art for me - top pic on my Shoutboard - called Isle of Our Own. Admittedly the title is inspired by the Westlife song, World Of Our Own. I know not many people respect Westlife music, but I can't help what makes my heart feel good. (The picture is for my novel novel, LookInside, so it features characters in there.)

Anyway I just wanted to thank everyone on DA who helps me out with drawings/paintings/works of art for my book. It may seem like it's just another deviation, clicked on by many, commented on by a few, faved by some, and then almost forgotten, but *I* will never forget anything any of you do for me. And I promise I'll get my book published and somehow your art will be featured too. There could even be posters or postcard type things. Sorry I don't have any finalised details for anything yet. It may seem like I am just another nobody. But, well, I think everybody I keep in touch with on DA is actually a special somebody and I am very grateful to know you. And I hope what I do will one day make a difference in your lives too. I don't just mean anything I pay you for a commission, I mean other things.

'Isle of Our Own' is a very special picture and I hope it will get more appreciation!

Since the last journal I also pasted on my Shoutboard a thumbnail for sketches did for me recently. Hopefully next time my journal won't be so much about me (with someone else's words/song). And I don't mean to sound like I'm boasting or anything, I have nothing to boast about. Hopefully I never will. All I want is what I and others deserve and for goodness to conquer all else.

Anyway, I am very pleased with it and she was so patient with my requests! and you'll see more of my comments under her pic!

PLEASE have a look at it!! Papao is soooo talented - this was her first commission and she's just so wonderful to work with

These are the four main characters in my book LookInside and Papao did them in a semi-chibi style for me. They're adults, but have beautiful child-like hearts Yeah of course they have issues to sort out in my novel, but they're my heart-children as well as my buddies. Plus they represent so much which is important to me!

and will be doing more for me, but I think I should give them a bit of a break now (for a few days anyway )

Erm, I also want to note here my condolences to who lost a very very special friend, her horse Soquili, in tragic circumstances. She has no desire for doing art now, so the commission she might've done for me is off. That doesn't bother me at all, I understand fully why drawing might be the last thing on her mind now! Wishing you strength, Rebecca...

Been a tough, tough year, but one of the things I am pleased about is finding a number of very sweet people on DA, ones with beautiful dreams in their hearts and colourful visions in their artistic spirits and I am very thankful for that!

(25 Dec update: Thanks to I now know how!)

and have been very dedicated to doing drawings for me this month, so for what they have already done, I say thanks-a-million! They are working on character pictures for my book, LookInside, and although I don't quite know where exactly or how the pics will feature in my novel, they will be there

is going to do a traditional pastel for me which is not exactly linked to my book but still to my idealistic heart which hasn't died yet and I am looking forward to seeing what she comes up with. Thanx, Kate
