Happy Guy Fawkes day!

So, I figured I'd do this sort of update thing.

November is National Novel Writing Month! This is my first year participating; the deciding factor was that they're really handwriter-friendly -- I was worried I'd have to type it, which is impossible time-wise.

I may post it in the future. But since I handwrite every thing... this is difficult.

In other news, I started working in the Costume Shop, which is a lot of fun, and very educational. I'm not getting paid or earning credits, but I'm there for the experience, so that's okay.

I'm also participating in SS4A again! (for those who don't know, it's a secret santa art exchange. that's why the recent spamming of badly-photographed profiles) Hopefully I'll get someone with a cool OC like I did last year.

This is a strangely-worded question. Jaqua translated this as something bad that happened to one of them that she felt sorry for ... guess I'll just do that.
...so much shitty stuff happens to them that I can't pick just one to feel sorry for. 8D; I feel the least sorry for Corvus because he's a self-centred bastard.

9) Which of your OCs do you think would make the best father/mother/it parent out of all your OCs and why?
Astarael, because he's the only one who actually is a parent. All the others either hate children or are too immature to make good parents.

10) Which of your OCs do you think will most likely be put in jail?
Shadow, for no apparent reason, often ends up in jail. So does Gwen. Cloud was imprisoned for going AWOL. They would have locked up Evey, Alrinach, and Zadkiel as well if they could catch them. Stephen is imprisoned inside his own head, does that count?

11) The eighth of your OCs was put into the future! What will their job be?!?
Vanished off the face of the earth.

...this would be amusing. No. Shadow would be dead within the first hour of living with Corvus.
Astarael and Shadow live in Phantom's house, along with Phantom and Shruikan when those two are actually home. Alrinach and Zadkiel don't have a permanent home, but they are travelling companions, searching for Evey whose location is unknown. Arden and Dusya live together. Zhima lives with a bunch of people not on this list. Lucien lives alone, first in a cave beyond the perimeter of a Terran city, then in Shadow's basement. Dietrich Asriel wanders with his kitties but used to live with his mother's family. Sphynx lives with three other mercenary/bounty hunters as part of their group. Sophie lived with a different group not on this list, and Stephen sometimes lived with them as well. Gwendolyn, Corvus, Van, Asch, Cloud, and Cristopher all live alone.

14) Are there any pairings that are in your OC list? (they can’t be with someone else's)
If we're limiting this to romantic/sexual relationships... Just Shruikan and Astarael. Like I said, I'm unromantic. Oh god. Lovett and Evey. It's probably something dirty.

2 and 1 are driving a car when it runs out of gas.
Sphynx leaves without a word, thinking she should have walked from the beginning and not bothered with such an unreliable form of transport, leaving Gwendolyn to wonder why the magical horseless carriage suddenly stopped moving.

4 and 9 go to a strip club
and promptly leave, seeing as neither is interested in scantily clad women.

5 gets drunk at the Christmas party.
Ffff. I'd like to see Zhima get drunk. Connor probably challanged her to a drinking game, and she couldn't refuse because of her pride. Never enter a drinking contest against a Leprechaun. Or a contest of any sort.

1 has to marry either 6,7, or 2. Who do they choose?
Bahahahahaha. Do fairies have marriage? Arden and Dusya are already spoken for, and if anyone tried to marry Sphynx, she'd probably shoot them. Regardless of who Gwen picks, it looks like she's out of luck. (And, uh, she's straight.)

7 and 2 are walking when 3 pops out of nowhere and scares the bejeesus out of them. What happens?
Of all the characters on this list, Sphynx and Arden are two of the least likely to be frightened by anything. But since it's Evey ... she could scare any one. So, they'd try to beat her up, and they'd fail, because no one can beat Evey up. Even though she's tiny and the second-weakest-looking person on the list.

It’s the holidays! 8 and 2 are out shopping for 3’s gift. What do they get?
Forget shopping. Pan would steal something, because that's what she does. Something really expensive. Evey would thank her but be very confused because she has no idea who this girl is. Sphynx would have no part in this.

Oh no! The Christmas party again! 6 passes out drunk on a table. What does 2 do?
Sphynx does nothing. Except not being at the party in the first place. (has any one else noticed that 2 is in lots of these?)

While playing Truth or Dare, 10 dares 7. What’s the dare?
Katrina's not the daring sort, so it'd be really lame. Whatever it was, Arden could do it in an instant and be completely nonplussed.

Time for strip poker! Who wins, who gives up, and who ends up nude?
Katrina, Sphynx, Lucien, Dusya and Gwendolyn give up, Katrina because she's too respectable, Sphynx because she doesn't care about such trifles, Lucien because she'd rather hit things with a hammer, Dusya because she doesn't want to be seen naked, and Gwendolyn because she has no idea what's going on. Evey wins because she always wins at card games, and every one else (Zhima, Arden, Pan, and Lovett) ends up naked.

8, 10, and 7 go swimming! What do they do? (Do they play Marco Polo?)
No, Arden challenges them to a race. Pan dog-paddles and Katrina can't swim at all, so Arden wins epically.

5 and 4 make cookies. What happens?
Zhima throws Lucien out of the kitchen when she tries to use her bellows on the oven, makes it too hot and burns the cookies, then smashes them to dust in frustration. Lucien can make stew and roast things on sticks. Anything else is beyond her. (And she's only learned that much because she lived alone so long.)

1 jumps you in a dark alley! Who’s your hero, 7, 6, or 3?
Gwendolyn would be utterly unsuited to jumping anyone. That said, I'd pick Evey because Evey would make even the hardiest attacker wish they'd stayed home.

10 and 1 are dating! Reactions?
Katrina is married, and neither she nor Gwen find other women attractive. Lazarus (Katrina's husband) would find this all highly amusing and Delia would wonder how she got stuck with an idiot older brother like that.

9 walks in on 3 and 8 in the middle of a steamy makeout session. What happens?
Lovett minds her own business when it doesn't concern her .. even though Pan is underage. And Evey wonders what the fuck happened that ended with her making out with a twelve-year-old girl.

I think it's funny that the two people in here who are actually lesbian somehow missed all the pairing questions.

Shit I don't know many celebrities. Whoever played Van would have to be really really tall, and pretty thin, so that probably wouldn't leave me many choices.

Oh... I have a feeling Corvus and Lucien would not get along one bit. Corvus would never ever be caught sleeping on the floor, but Lucien would threaten to smash him on the head with a hammer if he tried to make her sleep on the floor. They would probably be up all night arguing. (Hahaha, neither of them have the faintest idea what a car is. Maybe a wheel fell off their coach?)

Asch. He thinks the newbie is an idiot and proceeds to kick his ass.

Well, Edward doesn't surprize me much, but I don't know what Cloud would be doing there. Maybe this happened back when Cloud was still working for his old boss, in which case they ordered him to get close to Edward, and the only way he could do this was by sleeping with him.

7) If 10 was the love child of two of the other characters on the list, who would be the parents? (Could be because of personality or looks.)
Uh. He doesn't look anything like anyone else, but if we were to go by personality ... Van definitely, and probably Shadow.

Shruikan is dad, Gwendolyn is mum, and Shadow's the kid.

I'm not sure why Lucien and Gwen would be dating, because they're both straight. However, if they were, Gwen would end up on the couch, not because Lucien particularly cares about where she sleeps but because no one messes with her, and she can't admit defeat.

I want to get some pictures of Hetalia in the snow, since it will probably definitely snow up here, but the faun... represents the Solstice to me, though I doubt one month is enough to finish it. Probably go for the hetalia and put off the faun. Again. I keep thinking of things I need for the faun; I have so much to do... but I want to do it right; no half-assing it. (Not that I'd half-ass any cosplay... I believe in doing this right.)

2. What would you say is your most striking feature? Most unusual?
Astarael: I don't know about 'striking', but my height is probably the first thing people notice; I'm taller than almost every one I meet. I'm not that unusual, other than being tall, and my hair colour isn't exactly common. Most elves are blond, or silver- or raven-haired.
Shruikan: My eyes are definitely striking. As to unusual ... vhen I vas living among elves, that vould be my vings, but vith demons, probably my height. Most demons are shorter, you see. But I've got some pretty wicked scars...
Shadow: My hair is an unusual colour, my skin tone is also a bit odd, and I have unusual scars.
Phantom: Probably my eyes, too, as most striking ... when people can see them. But unusual ... compared to what?
Pan: Striking ... Hair? I like my hair. It's cute. I'd say I'm unusually SHORT.
Daemon: Probably my hair, because it's such a bright orange. I've never asked any one, and I don't know these things. Or maybe my eyes. I've been told they look almost golden... I really can't compete with those four as far as unusual goes, but where I grew up, both my hair and eyes were unusual - every one had dark hair and eyes.
Corvus: Definitely my hair, on both counts. Are you daft?

3. If you could change one thing about your appearance, what would it be?
Astarael: Every one else seems to like my height, but I wish I was a little shorter. It's very tiring to be taller than every one you meet. (Astarael is 196 cm, which I figure is between six-five and six-six, for all you non-metrics. but I didn't have a proper conversion factor, so don't hold me to that.)
Shrew: Vhen I vas a kid I might've vished I vas pureblood elf or demon, but I know I'm perfect now.
Phantom: No. I really don't care.
Shadow: I wouldn't mind a little more muscle ... I hate looking underfed and wimpy.
Pan: Taller. And with curves.
Daemon: Like Shruikan, I wished I fit in when I was a kid, though for me that just meant darker hair and eyes, but I'm quite happy with my appearance now.
Corvus: I do not really care about such things, nor do I think I need to be more attractive than I am.

4. Tell me some thing about yourself that none of the others present know.
Shrew: Ah ... that's hard. I don't really keep secrets.
Astarael: Hmm .... I can't think of any thing Shruikan doesn't know. Except where I come from ... but I don't know that either. (Astarael's master found him on the mountain. He is referring to the fact that they never discovered how he came to be there, or who his parents were, or where he came from before that. He was about six at the time, and had to have lived some where before that.)
Phantom: Ah ... I'm half Shruikan, because he cursed me, and it saved my life. But these three already know that.
Shadow: ...I dislike yellow cross-garters.
Daemon: When I first started school, the big kids picked on me because my hair wasn't dark. They'd do things like empty their inkwells on my head. They stopped when I kicked their asses.
Corvus: I've killed one of my family members. Not directly, but I ordered it.

5. What is your favourite smell?
Shrew: The vind just before a storm. And Astarael's cooking.
Astarael: A combination of spices, dark chocolate, wind, and some thing warm I can't quite name.
Phantom: Wind and rain, and the smell of spicy food.

Phantom: I can't have children, nor would I want any. I dislike children for the same reasons as Shruikan.
Shadow: No. I don't think I would be a good parent. I think I would go mad.

Corvus: Shruikan made some good points. I would like to add that I would never get any thing done, and I'm sure all my good clothes would be ruined.

Shruikan: Spicy things, preferrably curry, and dark, bitter chocolate. But I'm not picky as long as it's not overcooked, and it doesn't have potatoes in it, or too much salt. I pretty much like vhat ever Astarael makes. My favourite fruit is apples.
Astarael: I'm elvish, so I don't eat meat, but other than that I'm not picky. I like to cook my own food.
Shadow: I don't have one. Unless Phantom's tea counts. (Phantom's tea helps with his insomnia.)
Phantom: I have always liked Astarael's cooking. When I was a kid it was the only thing I could keep down.

So, I am thinking about putting up some stuff just to be critiqued. I appreciate compliments, but frankly they won't make me a better artist. I might do one of these per month or some thing.

A lot of people on da only care about faves and pageviews and watchers, like it's a popularity contest. But as a certain awesome snakey pointed out recently ... these sites were created so honest artists could share their work and recieve HELPFUL feedback. Not just be popular. That is what myspace is for. And there is a reason I refuse to get one of those.

So when I post these, probably just pencil sketches, I'd appreciate if you could give me some feedback. Not what you like, but what could be improved. And if you truly, honestly think it is pure awesome and cannot possibly improved because every pencil line is pure genius (which will never be true of my art) then don't feel like you have to BS some thing. Just don't say any thing. I'd really appreciate it.

I don't really have any RPs, because I just don't (unless the thing with Pip counts ... you said once that it was sorta like rp, didn't you? I remember, anyway ...) But because I'm bored and I happen to love answering queries for my characteres, I'm doing this anyway.

Notes: It is the character answering, so there's no guarantee they'll tell the truth. Shruikan might lie to you, and Astarael may answer in riddles, because elves do that. Um.
