Secret Santa

This year I am organising a secret santa event. In case you don't know what this is, it is when you do some art for someone, and get some art in return.

CLOSED - You'll get your notes soon!

This is open to anyone of any level of talent, as long as you are willing to try hard! The deadline for entrants is the 21st November, and the deadline for art is the 21st December (to be posted as close to the 25th as possible - but definitely before if you can't make it on the day)

Comment in this journal saying that you are interested in joining, and link me to your wishlist. Also say what you are able to draw - for instance if you would rather draw boys or girls (in case not everyone's wishlists have a mixture of both), if you would draw anthro, etc), and if you would accept poetry/a story, or would prefer a picture!

Please advertise this, and include *Cricket-Syamota's stamp in your journal if possible!

I will note you with the person who's present you will be making, and then you choose something from the wishlist and start work!

Requests

I have a month before I start university, so I plan on doing some requests. At the moment, I don't know how many (because I have study to do that comes first, and I promised a friend a chibi picture). However, I shall try and do as many as I can.

QUESTION:

What should I try and improve on my art? I really want to get better and would love some advice!

Very good art! Including her comic, which has an interesting plot and great characters.

Recent recipient of a DD, Laurence is very friendly and encouraging, and has really helped me with my understanding of haiku.

A very talented artist as I am sure you can see.

RSF introduced me to DeviantArt in the first place. Though she doesnÂt update very often she draws some very cute pictures and is great at pixel dolls.

Well, everyone's doing well on their art exchanges! *hugs you all* thankyou for taking part.

I am currently very nervous. From this Sunday to Wednesday I am going to be going to Oxford University for an interview. If I do well I will get offered a place there to study Philosophy, Politics and Economics. I am quite excited about that, but it's really overwhelming. I have to stay on the campus for nearly 4 days (though the interview itself will only take an hour or so), and I do not know anyone else who will be there.

I'm going to try and make the most of the opportunity, and hopefully will not only get an offer *crosses fingers* but will also be able to use the time to draw and write. I will tell you guys how I get on, but I might not have internet access whilst I am there.

WHAT'S THE PLAN?
So we would have the kids write in their name, age, and what their favorite cartoon/comic/TV show character is. Then we'll go draw something for them basing it off of what they like! (distribution of kids to artists will either be by pick of the Artist themselves, or assigned to them...your choice) Printing, etc, that will all be taken care of on either my end (seeing that I live 2 hours away from them) or CHOC itself.

Sketch Artist, Digital Painter, Writer, it doesn't matter! We need all artists in all their glorious forms! You can sketch something, you can paint something, you can even write them a story where they take an epic adventure with their favorite character!

Intro
I'm planning to run an art exchange, so that people can get presents for Christmas.

Basically, you put a message on this journal if you want to be involved, and then you are given a request to do whilst someone else does your request. Who is doing your request won't be announced until all the pictures have been submitted on Christmas.

It's going to be quite small, with hopefully somewhere between ten and twenty people taking part. It doesn't matter how good you are at art, as long as you try your best! You will be giving someone a present on Christmas, and making them happy!

What to put in your message:
Your request with links if it is an OC (please keep it suitable for DA)
The art style you want: Poetry, story or art, or if you don't mind
The art styles you're willing to do: Poetry, story, art, or any combination of them
Anything you don't want to do: Furries, BL (boy love), GL (girl love) etc.

What will happen next:
Note me with any questions you have, and I will ask the person to prevent your identity from being revealed.

Requests: 15/11/2008
You will be given information about the request you have been given by the 17th of November
Art deadline: 23/12/2008

For the next two weeks im going to be staying with ~Kigichi so expect pictures of New York and some cosplay! I'm kind of nervous about the flight, but I'm really excited about seeing her.

Intro
I'm planning to run an art exchange, running from now to the end of September.
Basically, you put a message on this journal if you want to be involved, and then you are given a request to do whilst someone else does your request. Who is doing your request won't be announced until all the pictures have been submitted at the end of September.

It's going to be quite small, with hopefully somewhere between ten and twenty people taking part. It doesn't matter how good you are at art, as long as you try your best!

What to put in your message:
Your request with links if it is an OC (please keep it suitable for DA)
The art style you want: Poetry, story or art, or if you don't mind
The art styles you're willing to do: Poetry, story, art, or any combination of them
Anything you don't want to do: Furries, BL (boy love), GL (girl love) etc.

What will happen next:
Note me with any questions you have, and I will ask the person to prevent your identity from being revealed.

Deadlines
Requests: 30/08/2008
You will be given information about the request you have been given by the 1st of September
Art deadline: 29/09/2008

On the 1st of October I will put up a journal with links to all the pictures, set out like this:

I am finally on summer vacations! XD

26th July-9th August - Family holiday in Cornwall.
15th August-30th August - I am staying with ~Kigichi XD I am so excited about this!!! (even if some people do say I'm going to be murdered.) I've been looking forwards to it for months, I am going there by plane, and I've never been on a plane alone before, and I havent been to America since I was two. I shall put up cosplay photographs, and maybe more! XD I'm going to make a scrapbook ^.^

So yeh, might not be on much between those dates.

Well, i turned 17 on saturday, but I'm mentioning it today. And i just am mentioning it to say thankyou to everyone who made it special. To the right you can see some of the wonderful presents i was given. (In my shoutboard).

Thanks to the lovely i managed to download an art programme, (having failed to download photoshop 6, CS3 and elements), and I now have PaintTool Sai. I shall try to learn how to use it.

however, its just a trial so i dont know how long this coloured art will last.

i went to see Wicked - a musical about the witches of Oz. And its fantastic, anyone who can see it should go!!!!!!!! the ending...wow!!!!!

and today, for the first time I WENT TO AN ANIME EXPO!!!
it was amazing.
I bought manga and a moogle plushie, and was stalked by kadaj's and Ed's.
