Well it's 'bout time to update my journal.

Things are going good at the moment as such. I have finished Uni and start work in January for a children book/design business.

It's funny how when you don't go looking for something, it'll find you. Which is the case for my new job. It's all pretty darn exciting. I really wasn't expecting to be employed so soon after Uni, but that's no complaint.

That's 'bout it. I do have one problem though; what to get, a 15" MacBook pro or the 17" model. The 17" i want to wait until they (Apple) release it with the dual graphics cards.
If you have a MacBook and/or the pro ,what is the best size? 17" looks massive but has a super resolution screen... And the 15" isn't so big with a OK screen resolution.

Sorry to all those received numerous journals from me with nothing.

Sorry.

As you can see i have been messing around with my journal and nothing should have shown but instead it must be a bug with deviant art. When you usually press preview it sends up a window with your journal, well what it was doing was actually submitting a blank journal entry every time.

It took forever to delete all of these blank journal.

So again, sorry if I have cause annoyance. I wasn't trying

I'd like to say i have started an initiative to get myself to explore more in my drawing, which I have been thinking about for the last week.

My goal is to update an image to deviant art once a day. I have no plans to stop this, but I do hope I

can sustain this regime for a whole year......

Plus I'd like to issue a challenge;
If anyone is keen that is.... A self portrait of themselves in their style!

Here's mine!!

I have notice a lot of people a very wary of doing such thing and would be nice to see the variations.
If you do take this challenge, let me know so when you have completed the task at hand i'll post them up here so everyone can see next to each other.

Hey there everyone!

thought i'd let you know what been happening since my last journal nearly 2 years ago.

In my final year at Uni, and the pressure of succeeding is quite high. Employment is the next question in which my journey at uni is pushing quite heavily this year then in the past.

My answer, i don't know.

There is so many facets to got towards but the general direction is quite blurred. I like design, but i don't love it to death. i love illustrating but i cant say I'm in love with the idea of doing it commercially.

We'll see, i guess.

I like to say that from going through my old work on DA I guess my standards have changed. I no longer feel proud of my submissions and right now I actually feel disgusted in a way.

My point here is, Im doing a spring clean! all my old stuff is going to make way for more inspiring and technicality in my work but for now my old is now junk. Im throwing it all away (deleting it from DA).
Im hoping to reincarnate a few pieces from DA but that is if they deserve it.

Hi,

New news. I have began and settled down in my new school. Monash Uni. I have been granted with 36 credit points ( 48 credits make up a single year and each subject is worth 6 ) in Visual Communication. Everynone at monash are either really nice or extremly nice. Finding my feet has been no problem at all. and the work being produced is somewhat inspiration for further growth in my studies. Also, being in practically in 2nd year straight away I dont have to wait til the projects become somewhat any interesting. I might even post a few of them for you.

I'm really excited that I have finally moved to a new level in which i can progress as an artist and designer. I feel like this is the last step til i'm able to open the door to my life, my career choice which i have been focussing on for a long time now.

Part of the novality of going to monash is being part of the community it provides. eg. 2 cafes. 1 timezone type arcade. 1 fully equipt gym. 1 sushi bar. 4 storey library. 1 travel agaent. And heaps of other stuff that i have become acustomed to at the caulfield campus.

Hey all,
Thought i'd let everyone know the news. i'm pregnent.....haha!
Truthfully, i have been excepted into uni so i will so the results on my interviews.

Swinburne - Aplied design tafe = A Letter
RMIT - Vis Comm = B Letter
Monash - Vis Comm = A Letter
Swinburne - Viscomm = Not yet available.

Funny enough after the interviews I was given a better understanding of the kind of place that uni would be if i go, and out of them Monash seemed to be the best place. I have changed my mind. yes, i have chosen monash over swinburne if i get a A letter from them. so there you have it. Oh and one other thing, monash was so happy with my folio they said i should apply for second year when enrolling (they said that during the interview. their not meant to say if you are in or not).

Anyhoo. I have change my business name again. oh yeh. a new one. "Grafik Armada" is the name and i hope this reflects more on my business plan then the previous one "21 design". It has been registered so nobody can steal it from me. (im just paranoid).

On the other side of things i have decided to buy a celica GT4. the turbo model of the one i currently own. so if anyone knows of anyone selling one in Aus and is Grey and a Aus spec email me pleaseeeeeee

Hi, everybody. Dont know if you have noticed but i have not been a full time devaint person for about 6 months. I have been keen to write something but as per usual im a suspect for forgetting what i wanted to do.

At the mo, im getting ready to go to the snow. I have been planning this for a least 3 years where you might say planning but i should really call it, putting it off. There's no putting it off this time.

You might have noticed amounst other things that I dont submit much work anymore. i'm sorry about that, I'm currently working on a few 'paying jobs' and hopefully in the near future i wil update some things on DA. Also a key factor of not submitting much work is due to not having the net at home. It so blows. I'm currently back at my parents house living it up until uni.... Yes i'm gona have another go! And yes im gona get in, i know how to now.

In the past few months i have aquired a new hobbie, mini's. I have 2 mini's, ones is a leyland 74 with sunroof and a 998cc engine but not working, and a '69 morris minimatic. If you are unsure what a minimatic is? It's a automatic. These things are rare as golden eggs. It's going to be converted to manual and done up to prestigue quality because im also undertaking a panel beating course on the side of working full time.

Did i mention that i have started a small business on the side, what! you say no! lol. I nedd a new name for myselves business in design and illustration.
21 design. It may not be a slap in your face name, I just needed some small and simple.
It is registered and at the mo im waiting for a ABN so that i can bill my current group of clients. There will be a website but not yet. i'm under a bit of stress with how much the snow friggin cost.

Any hoo, hope you guys have had a busy year like i have had and i hope to post new work soon but please dont hold your breath.

I have a character im trying to model, he's not the most detail character in the world but i believe it's a good start.

_{I guess it's about time to qrite a NEW journal.

If you dont live in Geelong or Melbourne then you might of missed the news we had a nice storm the other week on Australia day. It wasn't any kind of storm, it was a storm where trees stood on a 45 degree angle.

For the brunt of it power i was having tea at a resturant watching and hearing all the alarms go off because the cinema had a dangerous leak and had to evacuate everyone.

I can't complain, it was a dinner with a show.

Again the weather here hasn't picked up. well, we did have a day of sunshine then for every one day we get, we have to endure 3 days of rain. Apparently Geelong has already had it's monthly average of rain 6 times over. Which means roads today have been closed going towards Melbourne. Im hoping they block my way into Lara *fingers crossed*, so that i cant go to work.

Also if anyone is looking to do a collab (still waiting on you *untitledSG ) or battle, then PM me. im gona try deversifying my gallery abit more now. mainly design because i need to get up a all rounded folio by the years end.

Also if you know of anyone looking for any design related work like business cards, flyers and anything relating to creating advertising material or photography, say "This guy [pi-me/Doug] on Deviant art could help".

Anyway, I have my new car a 91 Celica. Red of course and well im excited. A new sercurity system is being installed friday and tomorow im installing a new head unit so that i can play mp3's and CD's, really.

Hi all,

Thought i'd share the joy, i'm getting a new car! Well it aint really a new, new car but it's alot better then the one i have now (1989 Camry). I just purchased a 1991 Toyota Celica, red in colour and in damn good condition.
The guy selling was sellong it for he's boss which was annoyning but i guessed i saved a few thousand coz in Melbourne you cant find this car under 7 grand. My purchase price was 6 grand, i did try to go lower but sometimes i hate people who look at the internet after they put the car up for sale. He was gona put the price up! Lucky the guy said no lower then 6 to me .

Damn i'm so exited. I have never been so exited over a car before. And yes I will have photos up of it when i get full ownership. maybe latter tonight or tommorow.

Does anyone now of a good celica website to help n00bs like me understand cars a lil bit better. Has to be an Aussie site coz all the american ones dont have the same model.

Want I want to modify;
-Wheels. Hey, it's gotta look nice. It does have 15" alloys but i might go 17"
-Exhaust. Best way of getting more power without touching engine parts
-Audio. Cant have a car without a decent set up. Pioneer sounds good.
-Paint. new fress coat would make it look nice and shiny )
-Seats re...new matareial on the seats.
-Stage 1 turbo. The GTR version has 274hp through turbo and a smaller engine then the one in mine so im hoping for a nice surge in power when this is done.

Things need to be fixed;
-back window resealed
-inside left door where mirror is.
-small dint in the bumper
-air conditioning controls. some cracked but fixable.

*shakes hands above head* damn i want it now

Ok, I know i haven't posted anything for a while and yes i have been really busy with my bread and butter job at safeway.

Here's a few highlights since my last post;

- Ex house mate situation sorted (whew ^^)
- Empty palet fall on the back of my leg causing me to take a couple days off and a couple trips to the doctor (of course safeway is payinag for all expenses)
- Skate Comp last sunday. awesome day ill post some pics soon. They gave me access to all areas while the comp was running
- Was sunburnt while at the comp. ouchy
- Speaky's is interesting in the shot i took and might buy some off me.
- Handed a few shots in the Geelong Advertiser so that they could publish the event and hopefully get my name in the paper.
- And that's all i can think of at the moment.

There's apparently another skate comp next sunday in port arlington (correct spelling??) I might i go but i have no idea if it will affect my ability to work that night. hmmmmm. we'll see.

Hey,

I went to my parents house the other day to show what the money they gave me for my 21st went too, the Nikon D70 . While i was there they said wow it's bigger then i thought and stuff like that.

But, they mentioned that they have a koala living in their backyard. Actually in the tree closet to the house. Now apparently these trees my parent have are favourites of koalas. Since i had my trust D70. I grab a couple shots, now they arn't meant to be arty but just to show everyone my parent's newest pet.

Of yeh, Anyone out there thinking of getting a Digi SLR Dust will become a problem as i had a scare the second day of ownership thinking the image processor had a fault ( area of screen which shows a dot in every photo taken. ). Now if this happens to you, got to Camera clinic in Melbourne (Australia only....actually i think it is only just Melbourne) and u can buy a CCD cleaning kit. It looks cheap but you are buying any support you need when cleaning. Don't try to clean it without knowing the risks and what to do because it might end up costing the cameras life.

That's about it for now. I'm going full time at Safeway till i go to Uni so i might not be add alot of work (when do i really add work, ha!) but i will be able to get back to ASAP.

Hey all,

Today has been one fun, exciting day.

Firstly, my Nikon D70 arrived and i haven't had much time to play with i have had time to show it off.

And the other news is that GTA San Andreas just came out. Only problem that it is only ps2 but im waiting for it to hit PC games shelves b4 i fork out the money for this game. Plus i went to get this game for a friend at 12 this nite so that he could have it when he came straight home. I also wanted to see all the geeks there, but all i saw was a dark skinned man being arrested by police. i dont know why but all i got from it, was he was drunk and wouldn't get out of the way for the cops on the road.

Oh yeh, did mention the D70 came in!! well it did!!

Yay. I won a nikon D70 on ebay.com.au comes with the nikkor 18-70mm lens and it's only gona cost me $1870 including
delivery. The RRP on this baby is $2299. I'm so excited.

Well if you want to know this is what happened since my last post.

Thursday was fun i went to Snap to get my work printed. "yeh, i'll come back when the are finish coz i want to have lunch". But i returned they had problems with my work and two pages stuffed up and since it was close to closing time they said i could come back in the morning and reprint them for no extra cost WOOHOO!! oh by the way the prints that printed where of beautiful magnificants. pefect in colour and looks total awesome.

Friday (today); When back to Snap and had a few problems but my work was printed. their computers were having a hissy fit with my file which nothing was wrong because they took me out into the graphic arts section and showed me on screen if that was right and it was.
Off to swinburne to hand in the preselction kit because, well if i posted it today it wouldnt make it bu the 4pm deadline so i pretty much had no choice. Lucky i had michelle to drive me ( i was half asleep due to working an extra shift of nightfill the night earlier).

I never knew how amazing it felt when i walked in PA building and went straight to the enquiries window to find a guy heading right for me. "Is that a preselection kit?", Sure is i replied. as i handed it over he open the envolope pulled it out, i explain why i had printed my work and he didnt say much exept "that's cool, no problem" and some guy joking about how i just made it before they closed the building. HA! i did it. I made it in time and I feel so releaved.

Oh yeh i also won am auction for a Nikon f65 SLR (not digi) for AU$212.50 WOOHOO!! it's body only but the RRP on this baby is AU$529 so im not complaining.

I better stop now before i write too much. THank again for support. It helped making me feel more 'calm' towards the situation

Guess it's just my day.

Okay now i have to prepare and send a folio for Swinburnes preselction kit for it to be in melbourne by friday (this friday) by 4pm, no later.

this is where the fun starts....

a few days ago i wanted to convert digital files into slides. it took me 2 days to find out who does it.But when i rang them, they told me it would cost AU$130 for 9 slides done. FCUK!!

My next choice was and i hope it wont lessen my selection into uni was to print my work out on paper (it says i can in the kit). So off i went to goodway (the best and cheapest place in geelong). I handed in my work on zip, because they now have a system where ppl who wont work printed in small amounts have to hand in the disc at the desk and wait til u get a call. i still have 4 days at this time left.

Today. FCUK!! Goodway stuffes the printing. all the colours are all wack and well i cant use them. i was standing in the foyer and cursing under my breath. Luckly the didnt charge me but im so pissed off that i had to wait a day to get them printed crap.
Next choice was to go to another printer.......closed!!! WTF! Geelong cup day!

Tomorrow, i know have to wait to get my work printed at snap. I cant wait for them to say "sorry we are to busy".

Friday the kit is due and i have no idea if it'll be ready by then. This what i want to do and i'm about to crack it if one more thing goes wrong. all year i have waited to apply for this course and all im having is bad luck. does this mean somehow that i should give up or somehow i shouldn't be doing this course. FCUK that! I WANT IN!!

I better leave now. i have to work soon.

PS. sorry about the language. I was trying to show how much this means to me and how much frustration is boiling inside me. And if you are doing communication design at swinburne please help me. PLEASE

Hey everyone

Today my subscription ran out and im so upset. anyhoo. here's the lastest new.

1. I went to the DevMeet in Melbourne (last sat) and had tonnes of fun plus met some real DevArt uses. It was great, even though we talked, played hackey, threw hackey and dodged the hackey, i reakon the day went well.

2. That sat nite, i had my 21st b'day party. it wasn't much a party but more like a gathering of family members. I did this because i dont like b'day parties for myself but this was just to keep my mother happy. I think i did that well.

3. prezzies!! mainly money (which is good because it's), all going towards to pay for my camera and things to go with it . I also got a TMNT figurine of Michelangelo(that was from my big sister) an a dodge viper cast model. Actually one thing i cant forget was my GF's parents gave me acouple of DVD for a prezzie, so when i opened that i was like cool! DVD's! but when i opened my big sisters prezzies to my shock where the exact same DVD's . lol. They both got me Happy Gilmore and Gattaca. funny thing was my sister paid $30 for both and im guessing My GF's parents payed full priced. Silly billies. This is the second time the two of them did this aswell. last time was a Melways. Argh.

4. I have been working on a website and logo design for a friend at the mo. So i have been busy working on that.

5. Still working on that sonic picture. i will have it finished but when i get some extra time I guess. thumbs below

6. At the im gona play golf very soon today at the par 3 in Geelong.

Oh yeh dont forget, the devmeet is this sat! here's the note they sent me;

G'Day all!

As you all know, the Melbourne Devmeet is this Saturday, the 25th of September. Some of you have requested a reminder note, and this note acts as one of these.

Main things to note:

- Location: The space next to the Arts Centre and the Spire, on Swanston St. The main notable aspect of this space are the big, black sculptures. If you are still unsure, take a peek at the photos in the journals linked below.

- Time: 1pm. Don't worry if you are early or late, people will be around.

- Who to look out for: Braiden, Maree and myself will be around the black sculptures. Links to what we look like are below, so if you see anyone who looks like that, don't hesitate to go ask.

One thing I would like to stress is sometime during the day come up to us and have a chat. I'll have a notebook which I'll take down usernames and your name. This will help with remembering and it'll also aid in lists of who came and naming photos that come out of the day. Additionally we'll have little labels - nametags - which will help in getting to know people.

A couple of little things to remember:

- Feel free to bring stuff for recreational stuff to do. There's no set structure as to what we're doing, it's just to meet new people and have a great time.

- If you feel you're going to be shy, don't fret too much over it. Just go there with no real expectations and a smile.

It's popped up recently that developments at Spencer St. Station and on separate VLine tracks have caused delays and cancellations of trains. If you are coming in on these lines, keep one eye on the news for your line, and if you have a problem feel free to contact us.

Also if you are coming in via VLine, it may be possible for us to consider mini-meets on separate lines. This way it will ease the shock of meeting so many people at once, and it will give you a chance to meet people near you.

Im so excited. i found the the lynx deodorant website. Now if you dont know, i did some illstration for the website a little while ago. now the verdict was that their client, lynx hand changed their mind when i had completed all of the work. im still going to be paid apparently but when i did a search for the site i did a bad thing. i went to see what they had gone for in the end. omg it different. anyhoo. having a look around the site i notice a small token of my work. YAY! i found my work being used on the site. small it may be. It counts notherless.

well the trouble is over so, im kinda happy. one prob though i got into my car and it wont start! damn the battery must be flat. oh well means i spend less money on petrol. lol

Hey all,
I f you dont know by now, i moved out of my parent place 7 months ago with 3 friends (im not naming them so ill call them adam,richard and zoe). We all agreed that we would stay here for the whole 12 months until the lease ends. So what we did was we went on a shopping spree to get all the stuff we need. We all went to guest one day (not my choice, i wanted ikea stuff coz it's cheap). It started off at couches then dining setting and a coffee table. the deal was that we had 12 months to pay off our piece, mine was the coffee table. The two couches belonged to adam and richard, then the dining setting going to the other house mate, zoe. and this all was put on credit and under ones persons name, richard.

5 months later richard decided to move out. now conditions changed. Now he wants all the money up front. since i had money comming in of a large sum, i thought yeh ill pay for zoes and mine to help her out since she hasnt moved in and that adam's staying here.

6months. i signed up for broadband for 12 months and set up the system so that we all could access the net through the one connection which ended costing me about AUD$400.

6 Months and abit. We got another person to fill richards place. a good person. a better person then richard, hb (). rent went down everybody was happy.

7 Months. adam has emptied his whole room out while hb and i was asleep (hb and me both work night fill so it was during the day). So im a little pissed off. He pulls out because and i quote "i have been thinking about this ever since richard moved out". then goes by saying "if you need more money get another job". FUCK THAT WAS HARSH! I mean, i didnt do anything wrong. i kno i didnt to deserve this.

So my final decision was, since they fucked me ill do the same back. the deal we had with the furniture is off and richard can pick it up anytime, because when i originally agreed to the deal it was for 12 months and only the coffe table. Now it's the coffee table and dining setting in one go . im not paying for their mistakes. fuck them. im sick of it.

What would u do in my case please tell me, i want to kno?

Guess wot? i saw Adam and Richard in the last couple of days and the funny thing is i have no bad feelings about richard because he came over to visit (mainly because he was bored) and we were all good.

<> Just as i was writing the last edit, adam and richard came over. now adam was pissed because i sent him a message saying pay rent or your name comes off the lease (he was keeping it on because he was getting extra money from rent asisstance and still is even though he aint living here at this house). now maybe this was a bad thing from me but i was pissed off about the whole 'moving out' when i was asleep thing.
Guns ablazing and furries hot as hell, but this came to a cool agreement amounst us which i aprove and so do to they. im happy things are sorted and now im just waiting for adam to apolagise to Zoe and Hb for what he did and all is good. as long as he says sorry to the other housemates is fine by me.

So yeh, everything is sorted i think...im not too sure what to think but ill wait to see how this plays. finger crossed. now for a nice big drink of southern comfort.

im very sorry that i haven't added any new work except tee designs. im in a kinda a cant-be-bothered state at the moment.

oh yeh i fianlly received my wacom tablet today. i cant believe i used to use a mouse it's so much easier and more fluent. in all words, much better then a mouse. .

Finally I just got my refund back from a dodgy hosting service that couldnt even email me my details. but i have my money back and im happy . yay!. other then the fact im really tired right now and i have to go to work 2nite im not gona be able to any illustration . enough of me whinning. Have fun !

Oh yeh i bought a new keyboard and mouse. It's all cordless which is kinda cool. My last one stopped working and i couldn't log into my computer. it has a volume thing that makes me look like a dj. wigga wigga. lol. oh well

Yep that's right, I have the net once more. and it only took 4 weeks to get it connected! talk about speed. any slower i could of had my 25th birthday before they were ready. ha!.

Any hoo, I have some new art poping up soon (when i can be bothered or not busy), so keep an eye out.

plus at the moment im doing work for lynx deodorants website. my works gona be featured in a game. yahoooooo! but i dont know how much i should charge them. if anyone actually reads my post please responde? the deadline is monday and it's sat nite. im so screwed i have gotten closed to finished. (it's there fault and mine. theres' because they gave me the brief thursday. my fault, because i haven't crammed as much time into this as i should. sometimes i wished i had no social life).

It's now 5:24am and i have been up all night. doing well, nothing really.
If someone ownes a wacom tablet can you please tell me a good size to buy? thanks im kinda stuck on which one to get.
Plus im thinking of pulling off the idea of a illustration group. pity im gona do this but I realy didnt get the resposes i was hoping for. And for any that i said "yeh sure" im sorry but please get in contact if want help or guidence. im always happy to help others.

I was wondering only because I have no one to really push me in the illustration department anymore. And the idea occurred to me was to start a group who help and "push" each other to do better, and share techniques and well, better ourselves as illustrators so on and so forth. I know there is other groups out there but nothing that I was interested in (mainly manga art. dont get me wrong, manga is awesome but i dont want to limit myself as just a manga artist)

So, if anyone is interested please give drop me a line.
About 10 people max i think (too big and we will get lost). And a real ambition to take illustration seriously, like me who want motivation to do better (i have no one in real life that want to take illustration seriously, so i have lil motivation and i want to change that).
