... Okei, I paid my rent, brought sandpaper, and found out how to print off the computer network, but still!

Tomorrow I get to walk to HMV to take yet another faulty DVD back >.< My DVD player plays all my other DVDs fine, so why have both the first and second discs of GITS: Stand Alone Complex crashed/froze. Love the series, hate Manga Entertainment DVDs in general? Their New Dominion Tank Police DVD sucks too (I only brought it cause I don't have a video player here).

If I can beg or borrow a digital camera I might try and work out how to get images onto the network so that I can put pictures of the helmet I've been making for my cosplay costume into the scraps section... It's come out okei, but I can see several improvements I can make on the second one or if I need to remake this one.

Currently learning how to make plushies and I STILL haven't started this weeks project yet o_o;

Sorry I rather abandoned this place for almost ten months. Was busy travelling, then went straight back to full time work for the season, until now - finally at university studying Illustration.

Don't really have much new to put up here currently. I've been doing photography most of the summer and currently most of my personal work is more cosplay related.

Currently busy catching up on commenting, etc, and I have plently of time to catch up in so... might manage it this time.

Currently in Finland. Travelled overland this time... Denmark, Norway, Sweden... Fun! I want to go visit Oslo again in the summer, and Stockholm anytime! I want to spend more time in Göteborg as I only stopped there for a few hours, but it looked interesting. ^_^; Stockholm is the only one of them that is "easy" to visit, but... maybe in the summer if I can get the time off work.

Posted a new picture today... have been playing with the drawing tablet on my Friend's computer... fun! I will get one for myself one day... whenever I get a new computer anyway.

I'm going to Japan soon (and Russia, Mongolia, China and South Korea)! Fun!

Currently only working weekends, which is boring as anything... I miss the place... it's kind of pathetic really. Going to walk over screenprint plus sometime this week to try and get a couple of weeks work experience... need to go to college too sometime.

Guess this is just a general "Hi~ I'm still alive" journal after working 60-70 hours a week for over a month. (paid for 60, but adding lunch breaks and etc I was there over 70 hours a week over the summer)

HIM was a bit disappointing but still good for the main fact that it was HIM. Took over 40 photos so... be happy (And probably 20 odd of The Hives) and sorry but none of the gear they threw came my way (although I nearly could have gotten two (of the four thrown) of The Hives drumsticks - they both fell a couple of people to the left of me... sucks.).

Scissor Sisters ruled too... I only saw the last half or so of their act as they started while HIM were still playing. They ruled but it was so obviously scripted/rehearsed... I might have two photos of them... I was running out of film so I saved my last two shots for Scissor Sisters... One I set off by accident and the other someone might have moved in the way so... MAYBE. >.< I should of taken more film! I took two and a third rolls and could have taken at least another one.

Only saw part of Egotrippi but they were damn good too. Had heard they were and... they lived up to it? Finnish band singing in Finnish, so most of you won't be interested, but... Yay! New cool band~ Got some photos of them too... not brilliant though. I'd been right at the bar then I had to leave for a few minutes then didn't get as good a place afterwards... Left before the end to run home to fetch my telezoom lens and get food, and then caught the end of Apulanta when I returned... they were... okei. Music wasn't too bad, but way over dramatic (extreme goth-ness)... but got a few photos of them too.

Lesson of the day though... Fesitivals own. ^o^! I wanna go to Leeds now >.> But won't be able to get the time off (and damn the tickets are expensive)... Oh well. There's always Provinssirock 2005. ^__^

Anyway... customs are going to hate me. ^o^

Info for the UK people on here - CD's are cheaper here (not that that is exactly hard to do. UK is overpriced.) but unlike the UK where chart CD's are generally cheaper than old releases (Go Tesco~) here it's the other way around. Old releases are so cheap! I saw an old CD in Prism a couple of weeks ago for £12.99 while here it's only €10-13 (£6-9) depending which store I go to and it's the same for a lot of CDs.

And Laura you're brainwashing me. I nearly brought an Incubus CD the other day... €10/£6.50 again... Nice prices.

I seriously need to do some college work. I drew one picture last night... bad me.

I have a new camera~ ^_________^ Isn't the one I wanted but I'm happy-enough anyway. Two lens is always fun and I've already been looking at the lens lists to see what I'd like to get.

Been taking random photographs of people at work today, was great fun. ^o^ Gareth joking commented that I looked like an official park photographer walking around with all my gear and that it'd be a cool job... which got jokingly mentioned to Nigel who actually took it seriously So, it could happen... Need to take some prints in to show him.

Went to Pleasurewood Hills on Friday, which is the other theme park around here, with a few friends from work. Was the only girl in the group, but we cycle there and back again... about 25 miles round trip for me, starting in town and finishing at home (10miles there then 15miles back). The park is pretty sucky nowdays but... it was great fun. ^o^ We're all now plotting a trip to Alton Towers in September for a huge gang of us from work.

On a random note, Girls Aloud (a UK Girl Band) were a work yesterday. I didn't realise who they were until Richard, one of the guys I worked with came and asked me if I'd seen them... they were right snobs though x_x; I ended up having to permently save their rollercoaster photos for the guys though.

Anyway... must remember to take-over the scanner at college tomorrow ^.^; I'm also starting to catch up on my commenting so... go me!

I never thought getting away with doing gift-art and college work in one go would ever work that well... too well.

... She also thought Albert in a couple of my sketchy-rough pics was a girl... I didn't think my drawing was that bad, really.

Today has been a waste. I've sat at college all day... playing on DA mostly. Had no work, no lessons, but Mat demanded us all in before 9am and then only managed to go over half the class' exam work, leaving the rest of us with little or nothing to do. Therefore... I'm bored out of my mind.

Anyway~ On another note, we got Sam onto DA properly. ^.^ She's one of the Adobe Illustrator experts in our class *nods* She signed up weeks ago then never used her account so... we got her to start using it. Go look!

Also got an general "how-to" fantasy art book. >.> It covers a lot, is not most topics generally. On a fair bit of the stuff in there I'm more advanced, but it covers lots of stuff that I don't know too, and that basic stuff is handy, plus it has fairly good reference pics and material. It's rather biased towards Lord Of The Rings and Star Wars (fan)art but it's good. ^.^;;;

I think I shall have to beg for a top pic for the Caesar shrine. My "Illustration" skills have died again.

Shall go. Have a week to get my portfolio presentable and to write a 300 word mini-essay. Will probably go over my Wild Arms Redesign essay again and make a mini version of it.

Anyway, the Unversity of Central Lancashire said they're offer me a place. The unversity and Preston are a lot nicer than I thought they would be... and they're not long by train from Leeds which is for shopping. ^o^

So... will hopefully have to choice between Kent and Preston... should be fun @__@;

Back to college is a joke though. I'll be in for about two hours on Monday morning to beg Matt to kill my portfolio, then begging a lift off someone (or walking) to the trainstation to head off up north for a university interview.

I think the college seriously messed up though. I haven't heard from my first choice, only from the two A-route options I tagged on the bottom to full space and because they weren't too bad. One of those I've abandoned, and the other. the University of Central Lancashire (in Preston), is where I have the interview on Tuesday.

I haven't drawn in weeks. I need to soon. @___@; I also have a backlog to things to reply to or comment on on here. x_x;

I've just spent all weekend downloading and burning the Full Metal Alchemist anime It rules, I'd read the manga scanlations before, but the anime is much better. Need to find someone whose computer can cope with it though, the audio and video are out of sync by about five seconds here on POS

I haven't touched my sketchbook in a week... and I need a new top pic for the Caesar Shrine and I bet when I do get my sketchbook out (when I find it ) that I'll start drawing pages of FMA Fan Art...

... Then Mat'll have a go at me when college starts again, but better to draw something than nothing.

I'm not typing my Art History essay up... I don't care if she wants it typed, there's nothing that says we have to except her essaywriting guidelines and it'll be harder to put the little explaination drawings into a typed essay than by hand...

... Got Jane for Photography tomorrow... guess that means I'll have to be there on time @_@; Although if I have to go rescue my films then I'll be late... which'll probably be what happens. I hope they haven't been damaged by being stuck in a hot car today.

... I wonder what'll happen if we go over word quota on our photography essay... do they actually count?

I've been awake in time to catch the college bus for the last two days.

I've wrote almost 1000 words on my photography essay and have almost completed it.

I've shot a roll of film and processed two.

I've done two and a half months on my calendar.

I've finished my second sketchbook for my Final Major project... and it has only one page of fanart in it (out of fifty pages).

I've sorted out my new gapyear application.

I skipped Art History class (yes, that counts as productive)

... Go me?

Anyway, I'm playing on entering this photography competition. I doubt my work will be selected as it tends to be too dark and negative, but it's a fair view of here at least. Probably going to spend all tuesday processing films and printing. If I take my planned two more films this weekend it'll give me four to process on Tuesday and six to contact print (I need to finish my A-level exam prep too). Would be amazing if it was though, but the problem is that my current planned submissions are basicly explained as:

"My photographs contrast two of the three states of Great Yarmouth: the history (tradition) and the modern town (future). Although a lot of money has been fed into the town most of it has gone towards luring tourists to the town and making the town look good to them and giving it a veil of respectablity. This doesn't effect the residents of the area, and does nothing to combat the way that its rich history is ignored and destroyed, and the high rates of crime and arson.

Outside the tourist and 'postcard' areas of the town, damaged, derelict and burnt out buildings are not unusual but no one seems to be doing anything about them and the problem is spreading. My photographs contrast the history and the current and future situation of the town, with it's past and history represented by the subject matter of 18th/19th century row houses, and it's now and future by the their condition and surroundings."

... I haven't got the photographs scanned so basicly "condition and surroundings" = burnt out, derelict, half collapsed, and overgrown. But with some appearence of hope with the plants as the main one that caught my attention while photographing was on young (apple?) tree which was blossoming in what was once the backroom of a shop. I was thinking too much.

I'll stop rambling now.

... After easter break I might do some art trades if anyone is interested.

Old joke? The twins are very... forgetful people, so they always called themselves goldfish. We were messing around on AIM one day, them playing fishyfishies and I complained that it wasn't fair and that I wanted to be a fishy too (as I was being left out), so I promptly got dubbed "Pikkukultakala" or the Lil Goldfish as I'm both the youngest and the shortest... and it stuck. But it's been shortened to Pikkukala (Lil Fish) as it's more conivenient

PC at home, both at College. Planning to get a Ibook in a few months.

4] What software you use most often?
Photoshop, Illustrator, Paint Sho Pro

5] Do you use mouse, or tablet?
Mouse normally. I prefer using a tablet but I only have access to one at the Twins

Black?

Depends on the picture? The focus or the background.

Anything from half a minute to nine-odd hours

High? Uh... Will check.

Multi-task? Chat (real or online), listen to music, read, do homework? One or a mix of them normally. I'm easily distracted.

At the moment? Loads. Clean and finished illustrations? Normally one, maybe two, a month.

This is currently my first choice:
Kent Institute of Art and Design - The course (BA Illustration) sounds good, the college looks and sounds good, and the location is brillant (I <3 London?). Thing is, I don't want to spend the next three years in the this country (or even if I have a year out still, the years after that) and they only let you study abroad for one term max.

I still want to go here:
Taideteollinen Korkeakoulu Except... I don't have the language skills currently, and I doubt even if I spend all of next year in Finland, that I'll get in... and if I'm in Finland without something definate to do I'll spend all the time at the twins and pick up almost no more Finnish x_x;

Then there's the random mix of other universities... none of which seem currently brillant... -.-;

I'll shut up now. Guess I keep defering at KIAD and worry about the rest later?

... and send my gapyear form thingy off and work on the damn calendar...

... And probably only Suikoden 3 fans will get the mood on this post

I can't see why he says that my normal " style" isn't original, while the random graphic-y style I sometimes use is so original (Come-on, I've seen other people drawing like that before.). Personally, I'd say my normal style is more original... it has anime influence, yes. But it's something I've developed after playing with lots of styles over the last five or six years.

... and drawing fanart is fun, damnit. And it helps with ideas and it's good practise, even if, yes, it's based off other designer's designs. But isn't all design a form of copying, reusing, and reinventing?

... And if it's fan art ideas, more than just "Draw etc!"... Give me an idea to go with it ie- "Draw so-and-so doing etc" or "Draw etc in/at etc". And I'm making no promises that I'll draw the picture, but good ideas are likely to get drawn? Oh, and keep them clean

I did do an interesting Yuber sketch earlier which I'll try doing a better version of later, and I have an interesting idea for a ballroom scene illustration involving a few Suikoden 3 characters (Probably Caesar, Hugo, Lilly, and a couple of others) but... that'll take hours and hours to draw if I go for a complete illustration...
