I have decided that because I have crazy ideas, and want to see them drawn, I should hold a contest! With a prize, even! (and no, I can't draw)

The contests will be monthly, with two weeks to draw/paint/photoshop/etc., and one week for judging.

The contest is pretty simple. I will come up with a theme I would like to see illustrated, and you (the artist) have to come up with a concept for it. The theme will usually be a weird crossover/parody.

For example, the theme for this month is:

Megane Girl Solid (Megane means eyeglasses in Japanese)
[Yes, this is a crossover of one of my favorite things in the world, girls in glasses, and one of the my more favorite games, Metal Gear Solid... and yes, I know I'm a freak.]

* Here are the rules:

1) If necessary, tasteful nudity is allowed (no sex, keep it PG-13/R). There MAY be adult/ecchi/hentai/whatever contests in the future, but keep sexually explicit stuff out of your entries for these contests.

2) One entry per artist. No being sneaky and having friends turn in stuff for you. I'm not THAT stupid. ^_^

3) Color is not necessary, but rough sketches do not count, either. It must be a finished picture, color or black and white.

4) There is no rule number four.

5) Please let me know if you are doing something for this contest. Even if you don't finish, it helps me keep track of who is doing what. If you turn in a pic at the last minute without telling me you were going to, I will thank you for the nifty pic, but you won't be entered into the contest.

6) If you are entering the contest, you must let me know no later than one [1] week before the end of the drawing period.
(example: If the Contest starts on January 21, 2005, then you have until January 28, 2005 to tell me you're entering, and until February 4, 2005 to turn the picture in.)

7) Send your entry to pocky469 [at] yahoo [dot] com. You can also post a link on this LJ/DA post.

8) If I don't hear from you a month after I e-mailing you saying you won, I'm going to assume you don't want the prize. ^_^ So be sure to check your e-mail.

* Some things to keep in mind:

1) I am the judge. I will try to be as impartial as I can, but those of you who know me do get a slight advantage when you make your drawing.

2) If the file is too big to e-mail, then a URL is fine.

3) You CAN win multiple times in a row... though if you do... be kind and enter a non-competing entry once in a while. ^_^;

4) There is no thing to keep in mind number four, either.

5) If you just feel like sending a drawing in, and don't care about the prize, you can do that too. Just be sure to tell me, please. ^_^

6) I like cute, I like sexy, I like most things. Hint: tending towards cute and sexy will help you win.

7) If I find two pics that I think are both the best, they will both win. (no more than two winners at a time, though. I don't want to go broke...)

* Here are the potential prizes (you get to choose one [1] if you win):

1) A $20 Amazon.com certificate. (for artists not in the U.S./not able to order from Amazon.com, one of the other [link] will be chosen)

2) One anime DVD (to be chosen from a list made available upon winning)

3) $20 worth of Pocky (the snack, not me)
