Hey all! Here's our next contest.

Note: Contest are DIFFRENT for themes. Themes are more of a challenge for a poet to write outside of their own box if you will. Contest get voted on.

Short Story Contest

Whats defines a short story?

Well, this would be a one submission thing. You would have to have all the characteristics of a story (ie, intro, body, climax, conclusion) just shorter.

How is this poetry?

I think of stories as a longer version of poetry. It is still a dance with words, just in a longer sense.

Theme?

It's widespread. Pick something (romance, horror ect.)

Now For the Rules

~It can't be prexisting on DA. This needs to be fresh.

~ONE submission per entry and ONE entry per person.

~Censorship is low, but if you do post a hard core lemon, I want notice.

~Entries MUST be in by MARCH 7. I'm giving extra time cause I will be gone for 5 days, and Febuary is a short month.

I have bad news.

Well...we're getting rid of our current internet provider and gettign a new one. They take it out tomorrow, the problem is we use the internet to this computer via a router. (the main connection is on my dads laptop and thats for his job).

So...once the new stuff gets in...and if the router doesn't work...I dont know when I'll be back. And I can't check this site at school, cause it's blocked.

Besides that-

SQ and I have decided that well will have another contest for Halloween, so to be in the spirit it will be a Horror and Macrabe theme.

Whats that?
Horrow and macrabe style depicts strong negative emotions such as fear, death, repugnance ect. It can also be just a very dark poem.

Anyway, some of you were wondering when the contest is ending, so, its official ending is SUNDAY SEP. 12th.

So, this is the last call for poem submissions, if you have another one you want to enter, you can substitute it for one of your old ones instead. Or if you have and comments/questions, direct them to ~SQTifa via dev note. Or ~LokiSuku, or the club, or whatever, just get them it XD


Anyway, voting rules will go something like this;

As Loki said, only two votes per person.

You cant vote for your own poem, no matter how lovely it is.

Don’t be mean with the voting, like: “I vote for #1 because #2 sucked ass” is a no-no >_>

Anybody can vote, members of this club and other people too, so spread the word of this contest to any dev people you know that appreciate poetry!

Because were all busy people, the polls will be open for FOUR DAYS. Okay? But please try to vote BEFORE THEN. Meaning since the contest submissions are over tomorrow, you have until WEDNESDAY AT THE LATEST to vote.

And the voting process will go something like this;

When the polls close the votes will be counted.

Each poem in the contest will be given a number and posted up on this account.

The number of the poem(s) you are voting for will be put into a note and sent to ~PoetsAnonymous please, that way people wont feel upset if they get no votes and somebody gets all the votes or something, because we poets care a lot (maybe a bit to much...) About our writing, and we don’t want anybody to feel bad, because this is a fun contest and all ^_^

In short, here is what is going to be happening;

Saturday (Today); All the last minuet submissions will be added. The poems will be numbered, and the voting sheet will be posted up.

Sunday; The polls are OPEN! So make sure you read through all the poems and vote for the two ones you like best before casting your note with vote ^_^

Monday/Tuesday; Extended voting days, please get the notes with the votes in before the polls are closed.

Mood- Mad at el computadora!

Grr...so I speant 4 hours fixing this damn thing last night. DIE IN HELL WINDOWS!! For ANYONE WHO HAS XP, DON'T INSTALL THE SERVICE UPGRADE PACK 2! IT WILL MESS UP YOUR SYSTEM, AND NOT LET YOU GET ONLINE PLUS IT WILL SLOW YOUR COMPUTER DOWN AND RESIZE YOUR SCREEN! AND IT SCREWS UP AIM! I talked to one of the reps and he said to wait a week or two cause they're having tons of calls about problems with it.

For anyone who DOES have it and can get to this:

Go to Add or remove programs (its in control panel)
Uninstall The service pack 2
That should fix the internet problems, but not AIM.

My AIM isn't working right now, so to anyoneI couldn't respond to today, it wasn't my fault. I'm going to try reinstalling it tomorrow.

I got some art done, since I had no rehersal tonight, but I'll have to put it up later. Chapter 9 is being worked on and I FOUND MY OLD STORIES AND POETRY!! w00t! :dances:

I'm putting up a selection of all the stuff I've done, so help me decide what to put up next.

This is a romance contest, and can be written in any style about almost anything.

~Must be at least 5 lines minimum. EXCEPTION: a romance haiku

I haven't had much time to update my poetry...so feel free to send me a link in a note if you want something in here. As school starts for me in less than a week, I'm rushed what with all this rehersal and personal issues.

My Delemma

My story in my main account is going smoothly, but it'll end sooner or later. Of course then I will start another one, but I have a lot of ideas, so I need some help deciding what to do first. I'll be posting this next one on this account as well.

I'm leaning more towards an original story...since fanfics are done all the time, and you have to keep the characters how they are. I don't have much of a plot yet...but I will be advertising with art and such (again in my main account). I will ONLY post it after the story I have going is finished. I tried doing multiple writings at once, and it just doesn't work.
