Well yesterday my father an i took Java in for the big sleep at 3:40pm. She was fighting till the end though, growling at the doctor. The doctors confirmed that she did indeed have FIP and was a lost cause. As she drifted off into sleep she gave me one final lick on the hand and then she was gone. I cried so much yesterday but today was just a out of body experiance. numb all day.
i miss her so much.

Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP)

Overview
Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) is a serious, nearly always fatal systemic viral disease of wild and domestic cats caused by a coronavirus, a type of virus that afflicts pigs, dogs, and in some forms, humans. However, the specific virus that causes FIP the FIP virus does not infect humans. The clinical name for the virus that causes FIP is feline coronavirus. (FcoV).

A common, relatively benign form of feline coronavirus is the feline enteric coronavirus (FECV). When FECV mutates into a disease-causing form, it is called FIPV (feline infectious peritonitis virus). If a cats immune system responds poorly, the mutant FECV may cause the systemic infection called FIP.

The onset of the disease may be sudden, especially in kittens. It often develops so gradually that the infection is well established before overt symptoms appear. When symptoms become apparent, they often include small tissue abscesses (pyogranulomatous lesions) in the liver, kidneys, and the membrane that lines the abdomen (peritoneum); and fluid accumulation within body cavities.

Types

FIP manifests in two forms: effusive, or wet, and noneffusive, or dry. The wet form comprises 60% to 70% of all cases and has a more rapid progression than dry FIP.

In wet FIP, fluid accumulates in body cavities typically in the abdominal cavity, where it causes progressive, but generally painless, swelling; or in the thoracic (chest) cavity, where it causes respiratory distress due to compression of the lungs and fluid backing up into the airways.

In dry FIP, fluid buildup is minimal and symptoms depend on which organs are affected by lesions. About half of all dry cases produce eye inflammation or neurological problems: paralysis, unsteady gait, and seizures. Other lesions may cause kidney or liver failure. Weight loss, pancreatic disease, depression, anemia, and fever are usually present.

Despite these differences, wet and dry FIP are not two different diseases. The strength of a cat's immune system response appears to determine which form of the disease it develops. If the immune system reacts poorly, the cat probably will develop the wet form. A stronger response might result in the dry form. When the cats immune system responds optimally, the animal develops neither form but may become a virus carrier for several years. A carrier cat whose immune system weakens over time eventually may develop the full-blown disease.

Incidence and Prevalence
There are two strains of FIPV. The Type I strain, or FCoV-1, is believed to cause about 85% of all identified FIP cases. The less common Type II strain, or FCoV-2, accounts for the rest. FIPV probably affects less than 1% of the cats brought to veterinarians for treatment.

Coronavirus infections are common in cats, especially those in catteries and shelters where large numbers of kittens and adult cats share living space. It has been estimated that 80% to 90% of all the animals in multi-cat households where FECV is present become infected.

The prevalence of FIPV, on the other hand, remains low in the wild and domestic cat populations, probably less than 2%. In multi-cat households or catteries where the disease is present, it can be as high as 10%. In some shelters and catteries, the disease rate can be as high as 20% over a period of several months.

Well, it looks as if devart is pissing me off once again. So many people are just here for the pageviews and the social aspect. If you are under 13 you shouldn't be let in. just my honest opinion. I'm just not using dA as much as i used to, hence the lack of uploads. I guess it's just too big now. you get lost so easily. This to me, is now just a really artistic myspace. I think now if you would like to see finished pieces and personal peices that i've worked hard on and really put a lot into then you may go and request to be a friend on my live journal.

A trip to the trauma room

Ok so the title kindof explains it. about 24hours ago i was in work helping get a dog ready for dental. thats the last thing i remember. i remember waking up in OHSU about 5 or siz hours later going "where the heck am i?"
So i have a minor concusion with a few bumps and bruises from falling. wow i am so lucky.
i did however lose my work pants and one of my work shirts (they had to cut them off).
So that is a little update in my life! welcome me back into reality.

Ok so as most of you know, i primarily work with digital media. however i also really love working with water colors and just plain pencil. sadly i have not been keeping up with my pencil work.

that you just were thrown out into the world without and real perpous? walked up to school, for one of the last times today (graduated saturday) and the receptionist told me to get out, essentially. so i wasn't able to see the people that i wanted to see, namely ~Litzer, ~blckpanthr13 and ~hhooppyy. ...i plan to make this a little less childish... so here are some facts about me and my art.
Welcome to my dA journal. I wont post many life issues here if you want that you can go to My Livejournal and request to be a friend. I go by the name key. not point-thirteen, not sadie just key. that part of me has passed. I'm currently int he process of going to college in Oregon, i plan to study graphic design and illustration. i hope to become a children's book illustrator or something of the sort.
i have never held down a job as of yet, cuz i'm a lazy ass and i still can't drive. so don't bug me aboutsuch details.
as for art things, very soon i plan on opening commisions, sadly i have never really done art for money before and i don't know good prices and yada yada yada, any helpful hints on that would be nice.
i don't take requests from complete strangers, i do partake in trades but only when the status below says "open".
some of my favorite mediums are graphite, watercolors, chalks and anything photoshop.
and as the little icon below states i have a running web comic that i make with my friend ~griffer13524. sadly i'm the one that is always holding it up. so go and follow that if you would like.

And now that i don't have a tablet that is working correctly i must put a hold on all trades in the process of being completed. Sorry again guys. I'm working on getting a new pen right now so just know i feel like shit right now, cuz i'm trying to get things straightened out.

So now that i have the interent, PL will be coming. I'm currently talking with two people about hosting and designing. Right now the hard part is the designing. I think though we can get that fixed. So i'm happy with my progress on the drawing, and on ~griffer13524's writing. I swear i could not get anywhere near putting the comic on the web without him thanks bud.
And thanks to ~unperfekt for the hosting. This is soooo cool. SO, if the design is not complete by next wednesday (2/1/06) go to for the comics as soon as we get the website up the comics will be moving. kk? However now with the recent tablet problems, the date might change again.

PLEASE READ! Wireless Router issues

So our family got a new computer yesterday... and we now have internet, well good internet at home. The only problem is when we go to hook up our wirless router the internet signal doesn't come through. When the router is NOT plugged into the computer and the modem is just connected to the computer the internet works. So the set up goes like this:
Everything is off
Turn on the modem (keep it on like ~unperfekt said ) Wait for it to set up
turn the router on, wait for it to set up
turn the computer on
go to the browser to go to the router setup page
the internet is dropped.
i dead end at the set up page EVERY time. I don't know what i'm doing wrong. So if you know what you are doing then please tell me.
Our wireless router is a Netgear 54Mbps Wireless Router Modle WGR614 v6. We have a Verizon DSL highspeed connection, useing a LAN (router to computer) and an ethernet (from Modem to router). The modem brand escapes me right now, but i don't think that should matter considering the problem lies with the router's setup. PLEASE HELP!

Totally have to agree with all of you who say people are getting fake on here. So I gave in and let's see who really reposts this. This is a test to see who's paying attention. It serves to eliminate people who are desperately trying to add "friends" like its a popularity contest in High School. This is a test to see how many people in my friends list actually pay attention to me. Copy and repost in your own journal. Lets see who the true friends are (and I think I know who you are...). Repost this if you are a friend...

Really i joined DA and went on a watching rampage, i admit i wanted to be friends with random people. But i'm nolonger so shallow, i like my friends to like me for who i am and not my art. in fact i hate it when people only like me cuz i can draw. it's my least admirable talent. SO i will not watch people just cuz i wan to be friends with them, i will watch you because i enjoy your art, i don't expect you to be my friend.

So i am about to be engulfed by winter drum line, as is , but i will do my best to stay around during school hours. I only have two classes where i'm not near a computer the whole time. currently i'm painting a mural on the art room wall of my school. so to all you SRHS deviants out there, someone in our school didn't copy my character and paint it on the wall, it's me doing that and if you want to say hi i'm there after school on tuesdays at graphics club. fun fun. i'll upload pictures of it as it progresses and when it's finished.

I'm thrilled that i was able to get the effect i did on this painting especially because it is the first real painting i have done with acyrilics. i think i spelled that wrong. meh.

wow, ok i hate art theives as much as the next person but really leave and crap just cuz people are doing this is stupid. think about how many people copy your art and don't post it! really there are thousands of people out there ripping your art without you knowing. really sure DA could crack down on all theives but then there would be no more art. everyone learns from someone else, and there will be similarities, but really leave a good community just like that. how come nobody left cuz people copied Zer's art? Or Amberdrake's art? really people if you are so worried about art theives get your own domain or go and not post art on the web.

ok, i'm sorry if i upset people, but the least you could do is tell me that you do not want to be friends anymore. i've stood by you through thick and thin yet you shun being my friend like i was some sort of disease. you bitch, how could you. i've done nothing to you at all. remember back when we were really friends, then you ran off and completely ignored me for that other friend. sure i can be possesive but not that much. that bitch you ran off with only was your friend to piss me off. then after she left you though you had nothing left. well i was there for you. i went along with you little scheme. i let you two be friends. i let you be with her and i let you put me down silently. no more. i'm sick of being your door mat. you called to tell me that you were sorry for being a bitch to me. i really took that to heart. i though you had finally forgiven me for the invisable sin i had apperently commited. but then when i try and talk to you you say, i want to forget everything from that time in my life. you say you want to forget that town, those people and your memories. well, think of the other people that you have forgotten. maybe they don't want to forget. you gave me a gift. you gave me a talent, and i'm sorry if that makes me connected to you in some way, but it is something very important to me. you say the teacher has been surpassed by the student, well not to brag but i think i have done that in many more levels that art. you just think you can walk away, rip yourself from my life. it is not that simple. like i said before the least you could do is say you don't want to be friends anymore. you just can't leave. you just can't. you know who i am, you better know, because i can see right through you. yes you are pretty shallow. now do you know who i am and how i feel?
