Redecorating for the Season

As you may or may not have noticed, I've been making my page as festive as possible without a subscription.

~~And on a somewhat exciting note, I have two finals on Monday, one on Wednesday and then I am finished for not only the semester but with my school entirely!~~ I'm done! I'm done!

Now I'm gonna be a little self-serving and say read this! Also if anyone reading this journal has any seasonal/holiday deviations, tell me and I'll link to it in my journal. I don't have thumbnails but exposure is exposure

Super belated birthday wishes galore to the most adorable cat-chasing, fairy-princess pirate in the world!

As of yesterday I am twenty-two and my present appears to be a mild cold. Yay sinus congestion At least both my laptop and the desktop computer are working again. My brother finally fixed them on Saturday evening. I spent pretty much my entire Thanksgiving break without a computer of any sort (except once or twice when I hijacked my brother's laptop while he wasn't looking).

Sunday I went out with two of my friends and discovered it only takes one of O'Charlie's Cotton Candy Cosmos to get me tipsy Even more important than my inebriation though is that one of my friends got me Supernatural: Season 2 while the other got me Season 3! They're so awesome

I had school yesterday but two of my classes there were films so it's all good. When I got home, my aunt treated me to a steak dinner at Applebee's where I proceeded to consume two strawberry daiquiris...they were delicious as was the steak Then there was cake at home...Boston Creme Pie. Afterward, I went to bed

Today I had pancakes and bacon for a very late breakfast...or a fairly normal lunchtime and I'm going to see A Christmas Carol with my cousin (he's paying ) in a couple hours.

...and I just got a homemade Christmas card from an online friend!

Ohhh! That reminds me! Our Christmas tree is up and decorated and it has been since Thanksgiving night because I went on a crazy cleaning spree. Victims also included the computer desk and the kitchen counter

Mondays notwithstanding, today's been all right I'm working on like two hours of sleep but that's become the norm for school days lately. There's an essay I ought to edit/revise but my procrastinating instincts insist I can put that off and who am I to disagree with such a compelling argument?

Missouri has decided to bring on the fall weather. We should be seeing forties tonight and seventy is about as warm as the temperature will be for a while You know what that means? Time to break out the hoodies and hot cocoa!

School seems to be going well. I got an 'A' on my U.S. History test which is awesome because I was pretty sure a 'B' was being optimistic and a perfect score on my Human Biology quiz Also I currently have all of my homework done bar reading (which likely won't get done anyways) and an essay that can't even be written until after the 24th I even picked out the essay question for the next test in my Western Civilization class and found the pages in the book to refer to.

The only thing that could make this better would be a Dr. Pepper but woe, I am a cheapskate and unwilling to purchase one for the exorbant price of a $1.25

So while I am sitting at the campus library wasting time until Human Biology...how is everyone? Do share.

Daaah Rabble Rabble Rabble

My allergies freaked out on me...again. I seriously wanted to skip classes today and sleep it off, but I just couldn't. I only have two classes on Fridays to begin with plus there was a test in U.S. History (I'm hoping for at least a B) that would have been so much more stressful to deal with if I had to make up. Also I really, really don't ever want to miss Human Biology because it is so crucial for me to hear the lectures. It's how I learn the material best combine with note taking of the lecture

So here I am. I drugged myself up hardcore before going to school and I think they might be taking effect now because although I feel kind of crappy my nose isn't attempting to create an indoor pool. I took two Midol (oh yes, that's going on right now too boys and girls ), two ibprofen, two decongestants, and one antiheistimine. My hands are a little shaky, though, which I'm pretty sure is because of all the sneezing fits I've had. Also my head hurts and my nose is raw

Whine, whine, whine. Where's my cheese? Hm...actually cheese sounds extremely unappealing right now. No cheese. A soda would be nice though like maybe an ice cold Dr. Pepper. God, I would adore that right now Unhealthy it may be but soda (with or without caffeine) always makes me feel better.

I can't remeber if this journal had a point anymore It probably didn't That's okay.

Anybody watch the series premiere of Glee? Or the season premiere of Supernatural? I did! Both were awesome. Unfortunately, I won't be able to keep up with Supernatural because the Mentalist is on at the same time and my mom actually likes that show. It's a choice between a show I like and a show we both like so I've decided to go with the Mentalist which has its season premiere next Thursday. If you have any interest in crime/murder mysteries, I highly recommended watching. The show has potential to be really, really dark but the humor keeps it just light enough not to bring you down.

There is homework that needs doing, most importantly an essay for my Sophomore Portfolio. I have to pass the class to get my AA in December. I shouldn't worry because, honestly, I'm fairly decent with essays but putting my graduation in the balance like that makes me nervous. Also, I dropped my World Mythology class. Did I already tell you that? I can't remember and I'm too lazy to check my previous journals. I love reading myths. I just don't want to analyze and write boring essays about them Speaking of essays, I need to write one for my Western Civilization class too. The Sophomore Portfolio takes slight precedence though because I need to send the completed essay to ~emperorskip for editing and he's a busy fellow. However, the other essay is necessary for my test on Monday so they're both very important.

Right now I'm wasting time until my next class, which doesn't start until noon so I've got a bit to wait still. Whatever I don't really mind. Technically there's homework I could be doing, like reviewing for my U.S. History test that's next Friday or reading my Human Biology book. That doesn't sound like fun at all though so I'll just keep meandering around on the internet

I've got some serious allergy issues today...my nose is leaking and I keep having sneezing fits It sucks. Hopefully, this won't turn into a cold. That would super suck. I'm currently dosing up on orange juice, vitamins, and tea

Never! ...well, all right, maybe ) As it is Sunday, I of course have school tomorrow...which also means, of course, that there is homework that needs to be done. Jamie(=th3krimzon1) has recently been having a problem with a particular person going through his watch list and adding all of those people so they'll watch him back Well, that got me to thinking that I've been an absolutely terrible watcher for a while now and part of the problem is that I've got so many people on my list

For everyone that is a member of Jamie's dA family that I watch, please know that I think you rock However, I am continually overwhelmed by my messages and I intend to remove many of you from my list because a lot of us rarely interact. I understand if you remove me too

On a more upbeat note, I have finally discovered how to get photos from the digital camera onto our computer ~~and as soon as I figure out how to make the camera stop putting the friggin' date in the lower right corner,~~ (HA! The Supernatural fandom has hijacked my brain and it won't give it back. Something about finders keepers. I have yet to actually write any fanfics myself but I suspect at this point it is really only a matter of time. The saddest thing of it all is I have no one to fangasm with because I'm the only person I know that loves Supernatural My brother doesn't count because he doesn't like the boy lovin' fanmade goodness that I do (which y'know makes sense considering he digs chicks ). I suppose this means I must join some of sites I've been lurking.

In the matter of real world issues, I bought my school books today. Classes start Monday. I am definitely not looking forward to being in a normal sleeping schedule especially when it is currently so out-of-whack but whatever I'll adapt...maybe

The Bad and the Good

My lousy brother has yet to check out the error code so my laptop is still dead Which sucks. A lot. I keep worrying that the desktop computer I'm using is going to seizure and die whenever I get onto deviantART or anything else that enjoys nice graphics It's such a slow hunk of junk.

I do have some good news though First off, my summer semester ended last Wednesday so I have the next couple of weeks off before the fall semester arrives to kick my butt and turn my brain into mush so it can leak out of my ears. Secondly, my very good buddy will be back from Michigan earlier than he previously was so I will hopefully get to see him before he flees back to college. Thirdly, which is very much in thanks to that very good buddy, I now own Season 1 of Supernatural. Mmm...Sam and Dean They're scrumdiddlyumptious, lemme tell ya And fourthly, I made brownies!

The Blue Screen of Death

I'm fairly certain my laptop is in its final death throes. Last night it gave me the blue screen of death...repeatedly...even on "last known good settings" and "safe mode" it couldn't even make it to the logon screen. After he gets home from work, my brother is going to check up the error codes that he managed to get to see whether or not there is anything that can be done or if the computer is dead-dead.

I'm not particularly hopeful. I'm using the family desktop computer right now but its pretty old so honestly I'll probably be deleting most of the deviations in my message box.

This really, really sucks. I can't buy a new computer. Like seriously cannot. If I buy a computer, I can't buy school books for my upcoming fall semester.

In other words, I'm S-O-L.

Now if anyone here feels the need to point out that pageviews aren't everything, please get on your soapbox somewhere else because I know pageviews aren't everything but it's nice to know people are at least making it to my page whether or not they're doing much beyond that (which I suspect is the case considering how few comments I typically receive )

In any case, without a subscription I can't do fancy thumbnails and such but catch the 10k and I'll feature you All you need to do is press the "Prnt Scrn" key, paste the image (Paint works just fine if you don't have another image program), then submit it as a deviation and note the link to me. Did anybody catch the 10k?

County Fair

(Just as a warning, I'm using this journal to vent...there's not really any angry ranting but it's not happy either.)

I went to the County Fair today and I feel like all I did was blow $18 on pretty much nothing. I had been really looking forward to fair food but it was so ungodly expensive. I had some nachoes but the cheese was obviously watered down and the chips were stale! Also the friend I went with didn't want to go on any rides and she ate at a Chinese buffet before meeting up with me. She wanted to leave like only an hour after we got there even though we each paid $12 to get in and we were expecting to meet up with my brother. When he finally managed to get there, she was like "Ok, you've seen him, let's go."

I should just stop hanging out with her because I almost never have any fun when we do. She just makes me miss my other friend, who's in Michigan right now, more. She's actually on deviantART except not really. I helped her create an account so she could share the bit of writing she's done and so we could talk but she never even visits dA let alone login.

Ugh. I am so completely unmotivated right now. I have some really important assignments I need to get done for school tonight and I just don't care.

My Life or Something Like It

My cold is mostly gone now. The cough is persistent and my sinuses aren't quite well but I am far, far better than before.

I've entered =caybeach's Seven Deadly Sins Contest which closes on July 9th, in case anyone is interested. Also I intend to enter pieces for =Masterwks's Emotions Contest (ends August 28th) and =Malandante's Your Fantasy World Contest (ends October 15th). I highly recommend giving the contests a look.

Four more weeks of summer classes to go then I'll have three weeks off before my fall semester begins. I hope I get good grades so I can finish with a high GPA. Once this summer session is over I want to apply to several four-year universities in various states, including California, Florida, Missouri, and Texas. I'm kinda scared that nobody's gonna want me...

The heat has yet to let up. I think we might be expecting a bit of a cool down this Sunday but I'm not sure. I hope so though.

My cold has sunk its jagged talons into my throat and sinuses. On Wednesday I got a sore throat and mild headache. Thursday is when the sneezing and other icky nose stuff started. And now today I have all of those problems plus I've developed a rather unpleasant cough. It's also quite possible that I have a fever but I haven't actually checked. At least it waited until after school was done for the week to attack me so thoroughly. Don't suppose anyone has a remedy for the common cold? I'm totally open to suggestions.

So why am I whining in my journal? Well, I just wanted to let you all know that I'm pretty much ignoring most of my messages. I'll still be commenting here and there and I'll always take care of notes and comments/replies I get but beyond that I won't be doing much on deviantART.

Summer Heat UPDATE

It is friggin' hot here in Missouri right now, lemme tell ya! Supposed to get up to 90 degrees today and I'm pretty sure tomorrow going to be even hotter.

At the moment I'm sitting in our nice air conditioned library, working on some homework so it'll be out of the way for the weekend. I know, I know, I'm such a great student

So far I've got the online quizzes for astronomy done. I still need to finish reading Chapter 6 for my oral communication class. I'm highlighting all of the key terms so I can find them faster for our open-book quiz on Monday. Hopefully, I'll get my worksheet done during the astronomy lab and possibly part of my minor project. I don't really intend to mess with the major one until the minor is at least mostly complete. I only like multitasking when it's fun

Tomorrow morning, I think I'm going shopping with my mom. Hopefully Supernatural: Season 1 is still $20 at Wal-Mart because if it is I am totally buying it. It's like $60 at Barnes & Noble and $50 at Best Buy

Well, my astronomy lab starts in a few minutes so I better go. Ciao!

**UPDATE**
I have done all the homework I am willing to do tonight. I did get my worksheet done, which I be totally ecstatic about if the professor hadn't given us another one My key terms are all highlighted and I have completed my first group checkpoint. The projects are still lurking in the background but I got the new worksheet half done in class (thank goodness). I still have some journals to do for oral communication but that requires asking my mom some questions that she's too tired to answer at the moment.

Some bad news for sure though is that I have developed a sore throat with a mild headache to boot. I think my brother decided to share his cold with me. How generous of him

Rainy Monday

I did not want to get up this morning. Seriously, I would have loved nothing better than to sleep in and completely veg out at home today. Instead I dragged myself out of bed, finished my astronomy homework, and got ready for school on this dreary Monday morning. And when I say dreary I mean it. We got over four inches of rain and it was still coming down while I drove to school. I lost count of the number of times I hydroplaned (which is friggin' scary! )

Too make things even more sucktastic, I was like less than ten minutes away from the campus out of a thirty/forty minute drive, maybe running a couple minutes late but it was no big deal, y'know? Except the road I needed to go through was flooded I had to turn around and go almost completely home again so I could get on the highway to get to school. I ended up being thirty-five minutes late to class and completely missed the quiz I studied for all this weekend when I wasn't busy with astronomy and I can't make it up. At least my professor didn't get huffy with me for being late.

Damn rain.

The rest of the day went all right though. The astronomy lecture was as boring as usual and the road was still flooded on my way home In the matter of homework, I've finished my most pertinent assignments for tonight, but there's still a lot of reading I need to get done before Wednesday plus my major and minor astronomy projects and a worksheet for the same class that I really need to finish soon too.

...and there's a moth on my monitor...huh...

Currently, I am finishing off my weekend at Truman State with some of my fellow classmates in my astronomy lab. SCC doesn't have an observatory at the moment so there are paid for trips to Truman State to get research done for our major projects. Mine is over asteroid astrometry...and I pretty much have no idea what I'm doing Why does science have to be so scientific?

Anyways. I am so tired right now! That's partly the reason I'm writing this journal, to keep myself awake until we can head back to the dorms and sleep. Later this morning we'll be heading back home, which is a couple hour drive. Ugh. I wish I could teleport myself. My life would so much easier if I could, providing you don't count the government wanting to hunt me down and vivisect me to see what makes me tick.

Bleh ignore me, I'm sleep deprived...have a nice week

I've been out of school for a little over a week but I go back next Monday for the summer semester. I'll be taking astronomy with the corresponding lab class and oral communication. Both of which fulfill credit requirements for getting my AA. I'm quasi-undecided what to do after that. I know I want to continue my education while majoring in history but I'm not entirely certain where I'd like to do that. If you know of a college/university with a good history program, lemme know

I just got done taking a test...over Windows XP. If I didn't do well, I've failed both myself and my generation

Anyways, how's everybody doing? TGIF, am I right? Tomorrow I'm totally hanging out with my best RL chica. We're going to O'Charleys so I can try out their cotton candy cosmopolitans. Doesn't that sound bloody fantastic? I adore cotton candy and girly drinks, and I don't think you can't get a drink much girlier than that! CANCELLED.

Also I've set a sorta goal for myself: Write more upbeat/positive poetry, ~~preferably at least one poem a day for I'm not sure how long.~~

I'm so tired...physically, emotionally, and mentally. And it really, really sucks. It's not like anything has happened lately to exhaust me suddenly, more like a slow buildup and breakdown of things, y'know? Plus stuff that is constantly going on in the background that I don't usually consciously think about but is always there, kind of like a shadow. I'd share the details but...I'm not sure I'm entirely comfortable spilling all my guts on the world wide web. I can generalize some of it though.

So there's family issues that I've been aware for about two or three years (who knows how long they've actually been going on). Major financial problems that have been present for a very long time and are becoming increasingly worse. Trouble with at least one of my friends who I'm not sure I should really call a friend anymore because I'm not sure I really like who she is/has become and I don't always like who I am when I'm around her. Oh and school. School is a bitch. Hm...also my creativity is sucky.

Also I really want to enter the Be Fella's Valentine contest but the only coloring program I have is MS Paint and when it translates the image, it makes it blurry so I can't just fill in spaces with color. It takes me hours just to get less than a corner colored nicely

On a happier note, I saw Push last Saturday and really enjoyed it. I recommend it, especially if you liked Jumper (personally I think Push is a superior movie but they have strong similarities)

I am 8 years old. Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus. Papa says, "if you see it in The Sun, it is so." Please tell me the truth, is there a Santa Claus?

Virginia, your little friends are wrong. They have been affected by the skepticism of a skeptical age. They do not believe except they see. They think that nothing can be which is not comprehensible by their little minds. All minds, Virginia, whether they be menÂs or childrenÂs, are little. In this great universe of ours, man is a mere insect, an ant, in his intellect as compared with the boundless world about him, as measured by the intelligence capable of grasping the whole of truth and knowledge.

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus! It would be as dreary as if there were no Virginias. Not believe in Santa Claus! You might as well not believe in fairies. You might get your papa to hire men to watch in all the chimneys on Christmas eve to catch Santa Claus, but even if you did not see Santa Claus coming down, what would that prove? Nobody sees Santa Claus, but that is no sign that there is no Santa Claus. The most real things in the world are those that neither children nor men can see. Did you ever see fairies dancing on the lawn? Of course not, but thatÂs no proof that they are not there. Nobody can conceive or imagine all the wonders there are unseen and unseeable in the world.

You tear apart the babyÂs rattle and see what makes the noise inside, but there is a veil covering the unseen world which not the strongest man, nor even the united strength of all the strongest men that ever lived could tear apart. Only faith, poetry, love, romance, can push aside that curtain and view and picture the supernal beauty and glory beyond. Is it all real? Ah, Virginia, in all this world there is nothing else real and abiding.

No Santa Claus! Thank God! he lives and lives forever. A thousand years from now, Virginia, nay 10 times 10,000 years from now, he will continue to make glad the heart of childhood.

Exactly what the title says. I acknowledge I'm being needy but if people could throw some hugs or something at me right now that would be great.

I just got back from a not fun time with one of my friends. She invited somebody from her work to come along without telling me until I had already driven all the way out to meet her. He was an okay person but he said some things to me that are okay to say to someone you've known for a while but with a complete stranger it hurt my feelings (doesn't help that it was about stuff I'm already really insecure about). Also they just talked and talked and talked...about stuff from work so I was completely left out of a lot of the conversations unless I wanted to sound like an idiot by talking about things I know nothing about.

~~So yeah...now I'm depressed.~~

My stamps! My CSS! My beautiful, lovely extra stuff! It's gone! All gone!

Ah...well...that's the way the cookie crumbles

So my birthday was fantastic even though I didn't get any presents. All in all I received about $75 (20 of that is a Barnes & Noble gift card). In fact the whole week/weekend was pretty awesome.

I had a great time hanging out with ~emperorskip and Jaqie. We saw Australia (Hugh Jackman is sooo delicious! ) and it was GREAT. Tried the white chocolate milkshake at Steak 'n Shake...oh so very, very good!

Thursday, I slept in instead of watching the Macy's Parade and then devoured lots of yummy food

On Friday, I went out with my two best friends (excluding :devLtFoxyRoxy) and my brother to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra We were late-ish but there were plenty of people later than us so it wasn't all that embarrassing. The show was super awesome. I tried the eggnog milkshake at Steak 'n Shake...and yeah...we redubbed the flavor "banana dirt." So definitely not trying that again.

Saturday, I lazed about the house until sevenish then hung out with my bestest buddies (Nikki and Jacob) again until midnight then bought me some booze! As we were walking out of Wally World, what to my wondering eyes should appear? Snow, snow, snow! It snowed just for me I tell ya because I didn't get any last year!

Of course, Sunday was great. About 2:00 p.m. my buddies came over for some cake, then my aunt and uncle took us out to Applebees where I had a giant strawberry mango daiguiri (omg so good!!!) My steak was pretty damn delicious too. I hate until I was ready to pop and then I ate some more! Then I was publicly embarassed and given a sundae for my troubles (turning 21 is tough business). Afterwards my brother took my out to his favorite bar/pool hall and bought me a couple of drinks. I think they were called Sex on the Malibou Beach. Mmm...so yummy! I pretty much downed the first one. But go figure, I didn't even get tipsy! Apparently, I handle booze better than I expected to

So guess what I'm doing this Friday!!!

...absolutely nothing. Out of my three best RL friends, one is super busy with college, another is working, and the third is in Wyoming (but I still love you ~LtFoxyRoxy!). I live out in the country where we get zero trick-or-treaters, and we didn't buy any Halloween candy...oh wait! We did! Some of those peeps shaped like jack-o-lanterns We just have one package but mmhm! I love me some peeps!

Feeling rather overwhelmed and behind this month. There's just so much to get done and there's plenty more hanging over my head for the distant and not-so-distant future like trying to get my Associate's Degree in history, then wanting to go to Missouri University of Science and Technology (MS&T) formally known as University of Missouri-Rolla (UMR) which has its own slew of additional stressors beyond financial issues.

*sigh* And that's just the tip of the iceberg...

Ironman Rocks Hardcore

My brother disconnected the internet in part of an attempt to fix a friend's computer. He plugged the receiver thing back in on Saturday but for whatever reason it didn't work until he managed to fix it late Sunday afternoon.

Gee...good thing I didn't need the internet to get stuff done for school that couldn't all get finished in one night. Oh wait. I did :/

Oh well, it works now, albeit it likes to be fussy but that's nothing new.

On a side note I think I got asked out. I'm not entirely sure and I really don't know how to respond. I don't dislike the guy but uh...really, I just don't know This hasn't ever happened to me (and to think I'm almost 21, so sad).

And now for something that amused me this evening!

Famed fictional detective Sherlock Holmes and his gruff assistant Dr. Watson pitch their tent while on a camping trip. In the middle of the night, Holmes nudges Watson to wake him up.

Holmes: Watson, look up at the stars and tell me what you deduce.

...Has Never Been So Hilarious

So inspiration decided to smite me like a thunderbolt to the butt on my drive home from school today. While sharing my brilliance with my mother, I announced on the behalf of the WIP story's heroine, "I eloped!" My statement was quickly followed by a bewildered "WHAT?!" from my brother's bedroom. Apparently, that was the only part of the conversation he heard

EDIT: Does anyone happen to speak or know someone who speaks Gaelic and is willing to help me out from time to time with a bit of translation? I want to include the language in a fantasy story I've got stewing in my brain

I'd just use Babelfish like I usually do but none of the languages that fall into the category of Gaelic are there

Also on the subject of helping with my writing, anybody interested or know someone interested in being a beta? I'd ask my good pal ~emperorskip but he's always so busy! No worries if you can't help me in this area because I know a site or two that can help me find one

Anthropologist = Stalker

Or so it seems in anthropoogy. I have to wonder if it's just this particular professor who's a few papayas short of a fruit salad or if all anthropologists demand such creepy things of their students should they have any.

Now I shall explain why I think my professor has lost her smurfin' mind. I previously mentioned everyone is to find a person from their country of choice, yeah? Well...whatever, I'm mentioning it now Not only must I hunt down someone from Egypt. She insists a face to face meeting is best and (this is the real papaya thievery here)I need to go to this person's house for the interview...a complete stranger...whom I am also a complete stranger too. Oh and don't forget I need to draw two maps of their house, interior and exterior, each with compasses on them, pry into all of their private business like who provides their utilities, internet, telephone, television, etc. This is, of course, providing I haven't had the misfortune of meeting a sociopath who decides to kidnap/rape/murder me. Yeah...seriously what the smurf?

While not quite as frighteningly messed up as all of that. Those maps and my research on Egypt and at least a summary of the information I've managed to gather about my interviewee (again providing I'm not smurfin' dead!) is all due in nine days. Dear, sweet, smurfin' insane professor o' mine was kind enough to inquire with the head of international whatsmacallitstuff to get a list of international students. Yeah...we might get that list on Friday.

Then there's the matter of our first anthropoogy exam this Friday covering about 8 articles and 4 chapters worth of information of which she really hasn't taught much of to us. Ugh. I really want to know what the professor's malfunction is because this is all really smurfed up.

In any case! I'm actually in a pretty good mood right now! I just wanted to share the insanity that is anthropoogy with you all. (P.S. I finally found out that cute boy's name is Matthew! Wee!)

On a completely unrelated note, I made apple pie yesterday! It's not the prettiest pie I've ever seen but it sure is yummy, especially with a scoop of vanilla ice cream I also made potato casserole supreme which I consider really scrumptious too.

On a small side note, I'm not sure how long I'll stick with this particular CSS design. What do you think of it? I'm thinking I might want something a bit simpler and/or more colorful.

There is a sticker on the binding of the anthropology books for my college course that says Anthropology 08/09. It started coming off my friend's so she pulled it the rest of the way off and lo and behold beneath it read Anthropoogy 08/09. I bet whoever made that typo got in trouble XD

More about my "anthropoogy" class...the professor divided us into groups by giving everyone a sticky note with the name of a region, country, or item. Then we had to group up by what belonged in what region. I... *drumroll* ...am Egypt!

Also, there's a really cute boy in my group and we're expected to get the names and numbers of everybody in our groups

Murphy's Law Killed the Stereotype

Ever get the feeling the universe in mocking you? Yeah...I figured as much. Maybe we should form a support group.

So this morning I was running a little behind schedule (because my big brother decided to sleep in even though I have to drop him off at his friend's so he can hitch a ride to work and I can drive to school). To add to the frustration, the driver's seat refused to move as far forward as I wanted it too and my seatbelt jammed so I couldn't even put it on. Yeah...happy, happy, joy, joy. Guh. During the entire drive I was positive flashing lights would appear in my rearview mirror (cause seriously wouldn't that be just the luck for me to get ticketed for a seatbelt violation the one I didn't have it on?)

On the upside, no cops. On the downside I got stuck behind a slow vehicle. "45 mph? Well, I best go 40 instead" (I typically drive 50 in 45 zones. Pokey no like being pokey.) But really the marashcino cherry (yuck!) on top the slow vehicle? Motorcyclist. WHAT? Slow motorcyclist? Um...isn't that like an oxymoron? Ugh. Even better than that, he had a handicapped license plate. WHAT? Common sense tells me that if one is handicapped, one should not be driving a motorcycle.

I claim no authority on motorcycling but seriously. Slow, handicapped...motorcyclist. Double-You-Tee-Eff? Laugh it up, universe. Laugh it up. I hope your end is anticlimactic.

Also my mood thingy is still messed up (anyone else have this problem?). I would definitely not classify myself as cheerful right now. I'm not in a bad mood but cheerful does not apply either. Bah-humbug.
