I did some updating on my gallery. Scrapped a few things, and made some folders for a little more organization. :'3 And there will be a spamming of new deviations from me here in the very near future.

Next up:
Cosplay work is slow going. I've decided that due to time and lack of funds that I will not be able to make the giant scroll for my Kaho cosplay. Not yet anyway. Though I did find a great tutorial for a scroll prop that would double as a duffel/backpack. I will see if I can get some help from my dad on creating it when the Mate, Cub and myself go up north to visit my parents for Thanksgiving. With his help I might be able to construct it while we're there and have it ready for IKKiCON. Which would rock, since I"ll be working for my mom while we're there for the week I'll have some nice extra income coming in. Though I may end up taking what I make and buy myself a new camera. One that doesn't have a 10-15 second delay between taking photos Interested in the above mentioned tutorial? Check it out by following the link. [link] On another note for my Kaho cosplay, I need some advice on the best way to make my hair stay up in poofy puffs like these. [link] Any tutorial links/advice would be greatly appreciated!
My second cosplay is more of a costume than a cosplay, though as I've been constructing it I've been thinking of turning it into a character. What is it you ask? It's a unicorn-faun! :'D I have a good majority of the pieces assembled and ready to go. Still working on the horn. The first attempt was sculpey with an aluminum foil core. That one was too heavy and flopped forward to hit me in the nose. Needless to say that one was scrapped. The second attempt was made with model magic, and while it is light, and has a good length to it, it's weak and is cracking at the point where the elastic goes through. So I'm working on a third version, this one is sculpey, and while it has no foil core and is smaller than previous attempts I think it's going to work out well. We'll have to wait and see after it bakes and cools. I may also be making a hairnet of sorts to keep my wig under control. I swear the thing sheds like crazy, though giving it a wash and restyling it according to the package directions might help with that. <3 The other prop I'm thinking of making will be "ribbon dancer" (does anyone else remember those or am I just that old?) like things. I have this awesome sheer rainbow fabric that would make a fun dancing prop. We'll see how that works out. :'D

Next we have:
A very awesome fanfic I've been reading (and by "been reading" I mean "inhaled within a few hours") I HIGHLY recommend going to read it now. :'D

[link] Shadowfire-x's TF2 fanfic "First Do No Harm" It is a fantastic read! I'm currently about half way through the companion story Comorbitity. So far it's awesome. :'D

And we should all know by now:
That I am a total fangirl for 's Aburame Ichizoku fics, as well as for her original Aburame characters. Just to prove the extent of my fangirlism... [link] I made myself a little Kuroji doll. Be sure to click the links in the artist's comments for more photos! He was going to go with me to IKKiCON but my Koiko cosplay got pushed aside for the unicorn-faun. Now he lives on my pillow. :'D And once I have some yarn of proper colors I'll be making a Kaho plush for Lithe so she can tote it around while cosplaying Shibi.

I am making plans to go to IKKiCON here in Austin Tx. It's going to be January 1-3, for those interested in finding out more on the con follow this [link] . (and tell me if you'll be there!)

So in my planing to go. I am looking into getting a table in the artist's alley. Though whether I do or not will depend on how much time it takes me to gather, make, modify, etc etc etc supplies for my cosplays.

Who do I plan to cosplay you ask? Oh do I have a treat for you. <33
I plan to go as 's Kaho (aka Shino's mom for those of you who don't know [link] (Kaho is on the far left)).
Doing a true to character cosplay will take some time to do, as I think the jacket and undershirt will need to be made from scratch. So just in case I am unable to finish in time (due to time, resources etc etc), I have a kick ass back up plan.
In the event of not having true to character outfit, I will go as "Gangsta" (think old school mob) Kaho. I already have the outfit planned out in my mind. White mens button down dress shirt, black corset, black pleated skirt (about knee length), fishnet tights, and black wedges or heels. And of course I would have Kaho's hairstyle, glasses, summoning scroll (because I totally plan to make it so I can use it as a purse-like thing.) and a mantis plush/toy.

If you read Lithe-Fider's journal you may have seen my impromptu Kaho cosply. If you haven't here's a link for you. [link] Since this pic I've bent the glasses frames a little more and cleaned the lenses. xD I'm really looking forward to this even if I can only go as Gangsta Kaho.

Here is to hoping I luck out on finding a jacket that I can mod into Kaho's jacket. xD <33

In addition to Kaho I plan to go as my demoness OC Kitsaria (who I don't have an appropriate drawing of) that will involve me finding a green wig, and fangs. Luckily for me I own the kind of clothes Kit wears, and have already made sculpey horns just for cosplaying Kit. [link] <3 So that makes it easy.

So if I REALLY luck out (which I am really hoping I will) I'll go friday as true-to-character Kaho, Saturday as Kitsaria, and Sunday as Gangsta Kaho. <333

If not? Well then I would happily go all three days as gangsta Kaho with a sign attached to my scroll saying "For Kami's sake. I AM SHINO'S MOM! Stop asking me who I am." xD


..... Why yes, I am a complete and total dork. Life is more fun that way.

Uncle Jack did a ton of work in reforestation in Alaska and was an awesome (if not somewhat off-the-wall) guy and will be missed a lot.

Prayers/good thoughts/lit candles are always good, especially for me since I am still having random sobbing breakdowns.

Hopefully I will have something good to post about soon, possibly involving cosplay? :'O
