Anyway, exams are finished for a year. At last. Gives me more time to spend on the important things in life; or bugger all as it's also known. I've got a few photos lined up to upload once I've cleared my immensely full inbox and burnt several tons of useless worksheets. Roll on summer.

Over the next few weeks I'll be changing most of my pictures to higher-resolution versions, exactly what made me resize them that small is beyond me. Always save your originals, kids.

So good our ICT department decided to do a trip there...

I'm off to New York for 5 days on wednesday, generally because we can. There's some seminar thing, but mostly it's just a few days of mucking about in the USA. I'll be buying a new camera, and taking advantage of the exchange rate in several other ways. I just hope the plane journey isnt as bad as my ferry to Norway...

And I'm back! Didn't realise I hadn't updated.

In short - New York = Awesome. The flight was nice and boring, but it's a marvelous place to visit. Officially we went to attend an IT seminar, apparently that's all lies to get it approved b senior staff. Anyone who's going in future, get up early and take a walk before it gets busy. Walking around in the early morning on a nice day, with the city waking up around you, it's a great feeling. In the day it's so busy, every second person is trying to either sell you something, get you to donate to something or convert you to something. Top of the empire State building is incredible, you can see for miles, and ground zero is a very sobering place to visit. Definitely do it again.

I've got lads of stuff to upload too, there's some decent NY panoramas I spent ages stitching and a couple of decent shots I managed to sneak in too. Loving the new camera, it's a more SLR-like model and a bit of a step up, but it sure does take nice pictures. Shame it's such rubbsih weather over here.

Well we're as good as moved now, so here's a little quiz thing. Hi ho, bandwagon, away!

1) What is your deviant-name and what does it mean?

Preasure. It's a deliberate typo of 'pressure', partly to be original and partly because I couldn't spell when I first used it. It stems from pressure points, sensitive areas

of the body I used rather a lot for fighting when I was a kid.

2) Why did you join this site?

Because I needed somewhere to link images from instead of attaching them on forums. It all just went from there.

3) What fandom were you obsessed with when you joined?

Worms, I didn't do anything other than that until I realised that I wasn't that good ai it, and there were other areas I could do better in and enjoy more.

4) Were any of the fandoms you have currently brought about by this site?

Nope. But it certainly helped fuel my love of sunsets.

5) Look into your stats. What is your:
- most Favorited Deviation: Sun and the Oak Tree [link]
- most Viewed Deviation: Sunset Over Bergen [link]
- most Commented Deviation: An old one called Worms Comic, for some reason.

6) How many watchers do you have at this moment?

21

7) First ever watcher?

~truec1p8 - October 9, 2004

8) How many pageviews do you have at this moment?

1,294

9) What is your artist's title shown beneath your "status"?

Master of the Toasting Fork

10) What is your most "meaningful" work?

First [link] Watching a new life come into the world is very symbolic and powerful

11) Best COMPLETED piece you ever did?

I'm proud of pretty much all of them, some I like for the good photography, others for good photoshopping. I really can't choose.

12) Work that took the longest?

Simple Elegance [link] took a good long time to edit

13) DA artist who has influenced you the most?

Anyone who's ever had a sunset picture I've seen

14) What is currently the funnest thing to draw?

If I was drawing, probably owls. RANDOM

15) Your first ever giftart was to:

Never.

First ever giftart received was from:

~Superblob did a picture of me for something once, I think

16) How many clubs are you in?

2. *sunsets and ~NatureClub

17) How long have you been here?

Since Sep 6, 2004, 11:38 AM. Blimey.

18) Are you on any other art sites?

Nope.

19) Can you remember the old DA layout?

Yup. Vuagely.

20) Are you still as passionate about art/poetry/prose as when you joined this site?

Probably not. I'm less likely to sit down and do something, it's more of a quick spur of the moment thing these days. But a good completed piece still makes me feel the same.

Well, it's been 15 months since it was going to be done in 9, but the move is finally happening. So I'm spending my half term week shifting all the clutter from a small nasty house to a large nice house. This means I'll be carrying everything in my room, from the wardrobe to the random collection of bric-a-brack on my shelf, out and over to the new house next door. Computers go last, so I'm off for a week of stress with no broadband to soothe me. I'll probably take a few more pictures when we're in, let you all see what it's like. See you in a week, or more if it takes that long.
Quite pleased, did better than I though in RE and english and I'm glad I managed a pass in german, but I'm a little disapointed about tech, after all the hard work I put into my practical piece and the fact that I was the only person in my group who actually revised. Would have liked an A* in business, too.

Cut 1,000 pageviews a while ago too, which is nice, and my camera took it's 1000th picture a week or so ago. It's a picture of my room in the new house, see it at [link] . Speaking of the house, it's all down to interior work now. We hope to be in by the end of next month. Moving and A-levels, all in one lovely, happy, stressful package.

Well, its April. Officialy spring, and one day from the easter holiday. Unfortunately, its also only a few weeks away from those nice little things known as GCSE's, where they shove you in a cold or sweaty (one or the other, never just right) hall and make you remember two years worth of learning and condense it onto a few pages of A4 that will probably determine how sucessful you are in life. No pressure.

So, with the revision monster knocking down my wall and breathing down my neck, I'll have to lower my useage of the fair WAN (yes! ICT, one mark...) that is the internet. I doubt I'll have as much time to visit here or take pictures as before, my camera has been silent for a while now and will probably only contain leaving photos and house shots until the summer. But I'll still be around to comment and view, rather that than return to find my mailbox the size of a small Wolkenkratzer (German, one mark. Ching!). But T17 wont get looked at for a while, and Nature Club will probably need stopping so it doesnt shatter the cheap but weak hardboard walls (Tchnology! Good, aren't I?) of my inbox.

Speaking of the house, the exterior is now mostly done apart from windows and the outhouse. I have a room at last! The hole place stinks of plaster, and the haphazard safety of the access ladder doesnt fill me with the burning desire to go clambering up every evening. We've added a box for Owls (O RLY? YA RLY!), as they nested in the old house before demolition. They seem to have taken to it, though where they'll perch now the scaffold is coming down I dont know.

So I'll see you all (In more detail and not rushed, at least) soon. Good luck to anyone else taking their GCSE, SAT's or A-Level exams.

So as I stare out of the window at the damp, dewey morning, I think to myself, 'what the hell am I doing online at 9AM?'
Better make a journal then.

Yay for the greatness of half term, a whole week of sitting around doing sod all. Seems like the weather is too, hope it clears up for when I go camping at the weekend.

Work on the house is progressing, if slowly. We now have a roof, but no tiles as of yet. Another night of collecting rainwater in Clover cartons after the sheets came off and my brothers room got leaked on. Again.

Taking a quick look at the main page, I seem to be a few views off 700. Cant be arsed to wait until then, so a premature w00t will do. Seeing as all I seem to be taking/looking at/faving these days is sunsets, I've joined ~sunsets. Thanks to ~PaulPower for bringing it to my notice in his journal. I'm not stalking, honest...
The following account is pasted straight from the weebl forum, as I cant be arsed to type it again.

[link]

The 6th form block was set alight this morning about 11, after an electric fan caught fire, although it may have been arson, this is looking more and more likely. The flames spread inside the wall, and the whole building was on fire after about half an hour. We were sent out onto the tarmac play areas, and watched in the rain as it took hold and became more and more ferocious. People were running around, looking for brothers and sisters, everyone got out OK, but there was loads of confusion and high emotions. By the time the 3rd engine arrived, and the smoke was at its height, the school told us to call parents and go home. I found my brother and we ran with the rest round the sports hall and through the mud, until we got to the main exit, by now coated in thick smoke. Everyone was so confused, they'd told people to meet at the gates, but the police were diverting traffic to stop the congestion. By the time we found our lift we counted 4 more engines from all over the county. Paused for a moment as we got to the car, watched as the entire 6th form, and the religion and business bits added on, burnt.

The entire wing is decimated, no school on monday, which throws the mock exams out, and I've also lost all last years business studies work, as well as 2 classrooms I use. Hopefully it didnt spread too far in, I havent seen the building since I left. I pity the 6th form, its totally gone. And it nearly got into the main corridor, and the science labs, with all the gas and chemicals. I was actually in the area where the fire started a few minuites before, I believe I was one of the last people to see inside that room.
In other news, house building is going a little slower than expected, although the bricks are up on one whole side now. The outhouses are now all being demolished, so the kitchen is filled with our stuff, as the place where we usually keep it looks like a bombsite.

Back from a very chilled out week in Shropshire. Didnt really do much, went cycling, a bit of walking up on the Long Mynd. Spent a day at the seaside in Barmouth, which would have been a lot better if it hadnt been colinised by holidaying chavs. Took a few pics, which I'll put up when I'm done photoshopping them.

My familys having a house built, by knocking down the rundown propperty next door. It needs to be built out of old bricks (Damn you, planning) as the houses are rather ancient. And built on the cheap, it seems, without todays mod cons like foundations. But these bricks must be cleaned. Theres several thousand to do, by the bank holiday. Theres an ominously difficult-looking pile waiting out there for me. But the lack of an end house has caused this mornings rain to come through the badly made walls and turn my brothers wall into a small water feature. Its jolly nice to be woken up to line the skirting with clover pots at 7am.

Oh, and I see my Big Preasure Competition at T17 has one entry, and about as much intrest as a, erm, er, bank that doesnt pay much intrest. Bugger.
