Just watched Becoming Jane last night and my verdict is that it was not as good as Pride and Prejudice, but maybe it would grow on me if I watched it again?? I thought it was kind of confusing, especially in the beginning. But it got better as it went on. I need to see The Other Boleyn Girl next! Even though the book wasn't much more than a trashy novel masquerading as respectable historical fiction, I can't resist a juicy costume drama...

UPDATE: GAAAAAAAH!!!! Speaking of costume dramas, Keira Knightley (my favorite actress) is starring in a new one coming out this fall, about the controversial Duchess of Devonshire. My favorite actress + my favorite fashion era. I think I'm in heaven and I'm counting down the days until it comes out... I hope I'm not disappointed...

I haven't drawn anything really substantial, but there are a few cute things in my PreCalc notebook that I sketched to pass the time whilst being bored and confuddled to tears by trigonometric ratios. I'll probably add those under scraps and then get working on some new stuff. I'm going to be as creative as possible this summer, in between all the ballet classes I'm going to take. 4. My school is like 30 minutes from my house so I go home all the time anyway.
5. My favorite composer is Chopin. But I have a lot of other ones too.
6. I hate cold weather but love snow.
7. I really, really, really want to go to France. Or just Europe in general...

1. Ron will die!
Chyeah, I don't know this for sure, but there's going to be deaths in this one, major deaths probably, and I have a suspicion that it will be our hapless buddy Weasley. It makes sense. I think that Ron will sacrifice himself for Harry. He's almost done it in the past. I know they have completely different personalities, but Sirius: James:: Ron: Harry. Hermione's not gonna die. I'm not even going to consider that possibility. Actually I think that Ron's death might even open up a new possibility for Harry and Hermione but I'll get to that later...

2. Snape: who knows???
Um, I'm not even going to try to hazard a guess as to whether Snape is ultimately good or evil because it's just TOO COMPLICATED. I've heard well supported theories for both and my take on the situation is as follows. I pretty much hate Snape because he's really annoying and he's mean and nasty and all that. However, there is a lot of evidence to suggest that he has been Dumbledore's operative all along (before you scream BUT HE KILLED DUMBLEDORE, YOU DOLT!! I suggest you read this: [link]). But at the same time, I can't exactly imagine Snape, after Dumbledore's death, running around aiding and abetting Harry, directly or indirectly, as he goes about his merry way trying to kill the Dark Lord. Can you?

3. R.A.B. is Regulus Black.
For the simple reason, who else would it be??? I don't know about you, but at this stage I'm really not interested in meeting new characters. I want to know what happens to the old ones. Also, I think he was in a position to do what he did with the locket (steal it, replace it w/ a fake, destroy the Horcrux) and the note reveals that R.A.B. knows he will die. Regulus Black does in fact die; HBP tells us he is killed at the hands of Voldemort himself. Why else would Voldemort kill a pureblood, otherwise faithful Dark Wizard belonging to such a family as the Blacks?

4. Harry Potter is not a Horcrux.
Everyone's been wondering what the final Horcrux is (the others are: the diary, the ring, the Hufflepuff cup, the locket, supposedly Nagini, and of course Voldemort himself) and many have speculated that it's Harry himself. It's a charismatic theory because it would make sense, and be tidily ironic and all that if Voldemort had inadvertently left a piece of his soul in Harry the night he tried to kill him and lost his power. Dumbledore confirms there was some sort of transfer, reference Harry's ability to speak Parseltongue, and the Sorting Hat wanting at first to place him in Slytherin. Also there is the scar, and the burning when Voldemort's near, and one might even conclude that that explains the phenomenon of Priori Incantatem in GoF and the fact that Harry and Voldemort have wands with the same elements. Voldemort definitely transferred some stuff, but did he transfer a small part of his soul? No. He couldn't have, because making a Horcrux is a deliberate thing, essentially involving a murder, an object, and a spell. Voldemort had intended to kill Harry that night. But he didn't. There were murders (Harry's parents), and the object (Harry), but surely no spell. Because he wanted to kill Harry, not make him a Horcrux. You could still say that since Harry is special, this could be a special case where a Horcrux was made anyway, but look back to the reason why Harry is "special" in the first place: the prophecy. Neither can live while the other survives. With the information that a Horcrux is a piece of one's soul that allows one to live on even if the body is destroyed, the possibility of Harry being a Horcrux is virtually eliminated. Think about it.

5. Harry and Voldemort will have the final face-off in Godric's Hollow.
Yup, this is where it all happens. Godric's Hollow, where Harry's parents were killed. Reference to Godric Gryffindor, who represents Harry's defining characteristic: his incredible bravery. And the final, greatest act of bravery before him: to destroy the Dark Lord once and for all. The end goes back to the beginning. Also, I forget from whence this connection arose, but the "Deathly Hallows" has been connected by many to Godric's Hollow. I'm pretty convinced on this one.

6. Harry will ultimately defeat Voldemort.
I know, I know, I've heard all the devil's advocates who swear that evil should triumph over good, or that they both just die, but seriously, do you REALLY think that's going to happen???
