Tomorrow is my birthday! Yaay! Pearl Harbor Day! Yaay!

That being over with, some news. Actually, some news and some olds.

Over thanksgiving break, I plugged in my laptop powersupply and it gave a &#039fft' noise and lit on fire. I had to smother it with a tee-shirt, and it was extremely frightening. This, combined with the venerable age of said computer and the damage that it has sustained (none of the usb ports work anymore, the headphone jack has been ripped out of the motherboard, the CD drive no longer works, and it spits white noise out of the speakers at random intervals that can only be stopped by, literally, punching the casing until it ceases) has persuaded me to ask for a netbook for my Bday from mah parents.

And lo and behold, they complied! I will be getting the ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1005HA with Windows 7. Hopefully it will be arriving within the next couple days.

This is mostly the reason that there have been no Sync updates - I have not had the ability to use the internet in between my work shifts like usual, and, unfortunately, by the time I get home to my cozy computer den I am totally exhausted.

Happy birthday, me! If any of you live in the Rochester NY area, let me know so I can invite you to my party.

Simple & Clean NG CSS: `ClaireJones | Silk Icons: famfamfam

Anyone that can manage to turn in a profile before I've selected who is participating is welcome to note me.

I'll be spending the next couple days deciding how I want this to go, so expect to hear from me soon. I'll be trying for frequent updates.

Secrets are a commonality.

Everyone has something that they can never tell anyone. Everyone has something they want to protect. The question is, how badly? To what lengths will you go to protect your secret?

Would you be willing to lie to someone you respected? How about lying to a friend? Would you destroy evidence? Threaten a person to silence them? Hurt them?

Would you be willing to kill someone?

Welcome to Synchronicity

Synchronicity will be a writing/roleplaying murder mystery designed for up to 8 people. It will be at the very least PG-13, and most likely NC-17, so if you get uncomfortable thinking about blood or scare easily, this isn't going to be for you. See Chapter 00 - if you don't like that, you really won't like what comes later.

If you choose to participate, you will be controlling one of the students at Swiftwater Academy (modern, normal earth setting - scroll down to get a blurb about the Academy). Specifically, you will be playing as a students of the school, who is somehow involved with the Swiftwater Enigma Club. The purpose of the club is, officially, to research and investigate myths, urban legends, ghost stories, alien sightings and the like, but in reality it basically functions as a social club for kids interested in mysteries.

It will be the job of the Enigma Club to SOLVE THE MYSTERY! Also, NOT GET KILLED BY THE BAD GUYS! And ALSO NOT GET KILLED BY EACH OTHER!

Joining Synchronicity

In order to join Synchonicity, you will need to make a character. Characters should be between 13 and 17 years of age, though younger or older characters are welcome, as long as some kind of explanation is provided. This IS a private highschool for the gifted and talented, after all, so backgrounds can be all over the place. They will be students at Swiftwater Academy, and must be involved with the Swiftwater Enigma Club in some way.

Each character will have a secret. It could be a crush on another character, a medical or psychological condition that they don't want to tell anyone about, an abusive childhood, or even a body buried somewhere, but the only people who will know about it will be the player, the character (or maybe not! lol amnesia!), and myself. It will NOT be known to the other characters/writers, and it will not be included in the public character sheet.

Once I have a bunch of characters submitted, I will select the most compatible eight and spend some time crafting the secrets into a whole and changing them so they interact with each other for maximum complication. I will then integrate all of these secrets into the larger plot that I have planned. (Yes, this means that I may ask you to re-write some of your character to participate, but I'm not going to be a dictator about it. It will be a joint creative process.)

Because I want these characters highly developed, I will be asking everyone to use the Cross-Genre Character Profile, though of course with only the human section. Located in the rugged Rocky Mountains of Colorado, Swiftwater is a private school where children of unusual intelligence and ability can develop their knowledge and skills. The school emphasizes providing a focused environment, a fact aided by the dormitory-style living quarters and beautiful, natural surroundings. Cascading mountain streams and untouched forest surround the Academy, offering opportunities for unique environmental education and physical exploration while serving as an impediment to all the distractions that plague city-based and public schools. The campus itself is a spacious multi-building complex, recently upgraded from coal power to environmentally friendly solar and wind power.

Staff at Swiftwater Academy are professionals carefully selected for alternative teaching styles and long-term educational experience. Some of our staff were even students in the past who enjoyed the school so much that they, after obtaining their masters degrees, came back to teach! Every subject from English to Organic Chemistry can be accessed at Swiftwater, and classes are tailored to the needs and strengths of the students. Please contact Headmaster Montronst if you are interested in having your child attend.

Please note that contact with your child may be limited, in order to preserve the focused study environment of the school and also due to the remoteness of the campus.

Whew! Desire is finally off my frontpage!

And with that, I can get started on my next project, Synchronicity. Synchonicity will be a writing/roleplaying mystery designed for up to 8 people. If you choose to participate, you will be controlling one of the students at Swiftwater Academy (modern, normal earth setting). Specifically, you will be playing as a member of the Swiftwater Enigma Club. The purpose of the club is, officially, to research and investigate myths, urban legends, ghost stories, alien sightings and the like, but in reality it basically functions as a social club for kids interested in mysteries.

Why your character decided to join the club, whether they take it seriously, what they are interested in(detective novels? crop circles?): these things are up to you.

Characters should be between 13 and 17 years of age, though younger or older characters are welcome, as long as some kind of explanation is provided. This IS a private highschool for the gifted and talented, after all, so backgrounds can be all over the place.

The thing that I hope will set this little exercise apart from all the rest is this:
Each character will have a secret. It could be a crush on another character, a medical or psychological condition that they don't want to tell anyone about, an abusive childhood, or even a body buried somewhere, but the only people who will know about it will be the player, the character (or maybe not! lol amnesia!), and myself. It will NOT be known to the other characters/writers, and it will not be included in the public character sheet.

Once I have a bunch of characters, the real fun begins. I will spend some time crafting the secrets into a whole and changing them so they interact with each other for maximum complication. I will then integrate all of these secrets into the larger plot that I have planned. (Yes, this means that I may ask you to re-write some of your character to participate, but I'm not going to be a dictator about it. It will be a joint creative process.)

Once everything is blended and set to simmer, the writing will begin. I have yet to figure out exactly what the format will be in - either short story submission or real-time roleplaying - but we will all get together and interact. It will be the job of the Enigma Club to SOLVE THE MYSTERY! Also, NOT GET KILLED BY THE BAD GUYS! And ALSO NOT GET KILLED BY EACH OTHER, WHEN PEOPLE START DISCOVERING THE SECRETS!

This will not be a PG project, as you may have gathered from the usual stuff I do. I intend to use every ounce of High Octane Nightmare Fuel that I can.

Because I want these characters highly developed, I will be asking everyone to use the Cross-Genre Character Profile, though of course with only the human section. Please draw on the material below for your audition, and put your best into it.

You will need to write a story detailing how your OC finds the Grimoire, and defeats the avatar of fear that waits beyond the Glyphed Door.

Please submit both the profile and the audition piece as two separate deviations. Within it's ancient pages is a glyph that when drawn on a door, turns that door into a portal to a realm outside space and time, where the promise of a Wish awaits.

Opening a Glyphed Door reveals a large vaulted stone room, barren except for a large rectangular structure at the far wall in front of you. As you approach, it becomes clear that the object is a large mirror, apparently set into the stone where a door should be.

And then your real Trial begins as your reflection ripples and the thing you fear most steps out of the glass.

Simple & Clean NG CSS: `ClaireJones | Silk Icons: famfamfam

News of the Prof

Well, Prof has been busy these last months. College is going smoothly, and I've met a lot of interesting people. Classes are both harder and easier then I expected.

I'm finished with Valentown as of Halloween. We had a good turnout, but truth be told, I'm glad it's done. It was just too much work trying to figure out rides back and forth from the college to the museum.

Now, Prof news is all well and good, but this journal has been created mostly to talk about...

The Writer's OC Tournament

I've decided that I AM going to host an original character tournament for writers. Mostly this is because I've long wanted to participate in OCTs, but I can't freakin' draw. What I can do, however, is write, and I'm sure there are many people out there who have the same problem. Thus, an OCT where only writing is accepted.

Now, I need some help making a decision. There are two ways to run the battles for this tournament. The first would be to run it rpg-chat style, or action-and-response style, where one fighter writes an opening post, and then the other responds to it ect ect. This style is a LOT OF FUN because of the amount of interaction between the fighters and the chance to really roleplay it out. The downside is that I can't think of any way to run this style of tournament without using a forum. The forum would have to be an off-DA forum, such as the one I've set up.

DA forums will not work because they are useless and lack almost all standard features.

The second way of running this would for each fighter to submit a short story. The problem with this is that it means you have to write for both your own character AND your opponent's character. This is both hard and will inevitably lead to "HE'S NOT ROLEPLAYING MY OC RIGHT", which is something I'd like to avoid. Also, it doesn't have as much interaction between the players.

So, there you have it.
The options are:

Action-and response style (rpg-chat style), that requires participants to register on an off-DA forum

Short story style

I really could use some help and feedback on this issue. If those of you who read this could PLEASE reply, and also go get other people to read and reply, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks, ~M.

Simple & Clean NG CSS: `ClaireJones | Silk Icons: famfamfam

I generally keep it within those two.

[2] Do you role-play any original characters (name them)?

Discipline, Hark, Maurice, James, Forscythe, Skewer (though he's getting changed a lot recently, and will be renamed soon), myself (lol), uh... others?

[3] Role-play any character's (not original)?

Nope. I dislike having to stay within an established character.

[4] Where do you tend to hang around?

Lately, it's been roleplaygateway.com, because I'm doing some ego stomping in this big tournament thing. In the past I've RPed on custom boards.

[5] Everyone has a favorite RP buddy, who's yours?

*Sidhefaer, and *JWenm. They're both fantastic writers. And also sweet. And also cute as buttons.

[6] Any other RP friends?

Uh. A few friends from school. Also, I play D&D, so my buddies from that fit the bill (though none of them are artists).

[7] Where do you most hate to RP?

Chatrooms. It just feels dirty to me.

[8] Which of your original characters are you most like?

Discipline, cause I've been using him in the tournament and he's kickass. Hark is a clos second.

[9] Everyone tends to take a little bit of themselves and place it into their character, tell us what your character(s) inherited from you.

Let me just say that nearly every character I make represents some exaggerated facet of my own personally.

Discipline: my love of control.

Hark: my love of laaadies, and being a bumbling idiot.

Maurice: my love of debate and using words as weapons. Also, being a supernerd.

James: the occasional hate I have for useless people.

Forscythe: analytical right-brain disregard for human emotions. Cold science can be attractive sometimes.

Skewer: killing things...?

[10] Now, name the same characters again and tell us who their BFF is!

Discipline: none.

Hark: anyone and everyone female.

Maurice: none.

James: none.

Forscythe: none.

Skewer: none.

[11] Any lovers?

Discipline: none.

Hark: anyone and everyone female.

Maurice: none.

James: none.

Forscythe: none.

Skewer: crazy psycho bitches that can't rp for shit ( :0 ).

[12] What do you most hate about role-playing?

-- People who can't understand quality writing. Yes, it's complicated; that's why it's GOOD.

-- Uh. RPing with bad writers? Yeah. That includes spelling and stuff.

-- Non-original writing, whether it be style or characters.

[13] Now.
Hi, welcome to the writer's meme! First, describe yourself in three-to-five words.

I'm supposed to be witty.

Okay, good! Now, how long have you been writing for?

Since a long time ago. I've always had weird ideas, and I've always written them down.

There's always the dreaded subject of Writer's Block. What do you do to overcome it?

I work on some other burning idea until the previous one decides to come back. Boring, I know, but it works.

Do you have a favorite-FAVORITE author? Or just somebody / something inspiring to get you motivated?

To copy *Sidhefaer, NEIL GAIMAN and TERRY PRATCHETT. Also tack on Anne McCaffery, Tamora Pierce, and Mercedes Lackey, to name but a few. I like a loooot of authors. Also Garth Nix and Larry Niven. Name any really famous sci-fi or fantasy author, and chances are that I like them.

Alright, writer's tend to 'baby' certain characters. What is one or two characters you simply could not live without, currently?

Well, the characters I make are all significantly screwed up in some way, so I don't 'baby' any of them. They all reflect some part of myself. That being said, I tend to give Hark all the ladies, so I suppose he's the one I treat the best.

GASP. You're faced with the dilemma of killing one character off! Which on is it, and why?

Any of them. Forscythe would probably be easiest to knock off though. And no one likes him.

Finally, you're stuck on a deserted island with a character. Who is it, and why?

Hark. I think we'd get along pretty well. We have certain similar characteristics :3

All right, now go tag some bitches, and thank you for doing this meme!

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Those that I tag, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE. I'M WATCHING YOU.

Ok, so that's it. I shall now provide a cross-section of what is the best rather unknown anime, by genre. All of this stuff is really good, good enough that I, an anime connoisseur, have watched it multiple times. I won't describe stuff that is popular, even though it might be really good.

Action:
Hunter X Hunter: The best analogy I can draw here is Hunter X Hunter is what Naruto would be like if you subtracted all the filler episodes and replaced them with character development. Though a bit dated, this series is highly addictive.
Speed Grapher: Nonstop gory action with a nice twisty plot. Modern, high-quality animation gives this series that cutting edge. Think Elfen Lied.
Read or Die: Slick, fast-paced action, and highly developed characters make this much better than your average heroine-vs-nefarious-organization.
Last Exile: Best animation I've seen in an anime, period, and an action-packed story to boot. Involves lots of steam-punk type airships. REALLY good.

Horror/Suspense:
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: The scariest anime you will watch, period. Lots of blood, but what sells this is the slow buildup of suspense that'll have you rigid in your chair by the end of the arc. Comes with several different plot arcs using the same characters, each one just as good.
Paranoia Agent: Deep suspense and mystery, with subtle commentary on various aspects of modern life. Hard to understand at times, but addictive as hell. Very good animation.

Drama:
Saikano: The most realistic love story I've ever seen in an anime. Made me cry, and that is very, very difficult.
Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo: Short, touching film about a girl who briefly discovers the ability to jump short distances through time. Manages to avoid cliches and conveys a lovely sense of innocence in the main character.
Haibane Renmei: This could fit under slice-of-life, I guess. A story about gaining and losing friends, the quality of the animation and the amount of time spend developing the characters sets this anime apart.

Slice of Life/Comedy:
Azumanga Diaoh: You will laugh soooo hard at this slice-of-life, no matter what your gender or age. I thought...

I was feeling restless today, so I went for a long bike ride all around town. Explored a bunch of streets I'd never been down before, little cul-de-sacs and stuff. Good workout, and excellent for letting ideas sift down into my consciousness. I ended up stopping behind one of our local restaurants. I was sitting down to rest when I noticed that I could see Honeoye Creek through some of the bushes. Curious, as I'd never explored that part of the creek before, I pushed my way through the brambles and sawgrass until I got to the water. Just as I was about to put my sandaled foot in, a rustling in the brush to my right caught my attention. To my surprise and delight, an adult fox bounded out of the ivy and skipped across the stones to the other side of the creek. It must've appeared about 3 feet away from me, so I got a really good look at it. The fox bounced from rock to rock, fluid as a cat, and stopped about 10 feet away to turn back and look at me. We sat and stared at each other for about 5 minutes. Eventually Mr. Fox was satisfied that I wasn't anything terribly interesting and ran up the other embankment. But man, that was cool...

Anyway, I walked up the creep for about a half-mile, slogging through the usually calf-high water. It's been kinda dry out here, so the creek was much lower than usual, and warm as bathwater. Much warmer than my shower, anyway >.< . I saw a couple chipmunks and a kingfisher or two. The water was teeming with little minnows and crayfish, and I saw a carp as long as my arm in one of the deeper pools. I rounded one of the bends in the creek and saw a small clearing on the bank where someone had set up some benches and a firepit. Intrigued, I waded over towards it. The water looked pretty deep right in front of the embankment, so I skirted around the edges. When I was getting within 5 feet of the edge, I stepped down and my foot sunk into mud up to my ankle. 'No problem' thought I, and took another step. This time my leg sunk into stinking black mud up to my KNEE. 'OH SHI-' thought I, and flailed for balance. In the end I had to step out of my sandals and take big barefoot steps, because I knew I'd never be able to pull my sandals out of that muck if they sunk in too far. Eventually I made it up onto the bank, looked around, and then found a different path back to the creek to wash the mud off.

So ended my creek adventure. Although it didn't occur to me at the time, I now realize I did all of this with my laptop in the backpack I was wearing. How daring I am.

Estimated walk/bike distance: 1 1/2 miles walked up and down the creek, 4 miles biked.

-- An excellent comic by Gracifer, one which I thoroughly enjoyed reading. Both fighters were drawn and written well, and the story flowed well from one page to the next. I had no problems understanding everything, and the anger/sadness present in the piece was realistic and well-drawn. A point lost in creativity for a fairly mundane dodge-stab finish and cliche ending line, but it wasn't TOO camp, so the number stays at one. Another point lost in Finesse for a handful of places where the color wasn't fully cleaned up, but again, relatively minor. Excellent job, Gracifer~!--
--Kitsuziza, I'm afraid that your comic was very confusing, and I had a hard time following it. Points lost in Storytelling for that, and for stilted dialog and humor that could have been developed further. I actually didn't think the art for this entry was up to spec with other comics you've done, even if it was fully colored. There were anatomy issues present in this that I didn't see in others, and if you're going to color, PLEASE don't try and do it with the smudge tool. Two or three spelling mistakes would lose you a point in Finesse, but total lack of punctuation, capitalization, and spell checking, plus lack of fitting fonts, loses you a bunch more.--

5.
             : Finesse and Effort: 5
Total: 19
--Scoring this was a matter of picking somewhere to take a point off. The comic was nearly perfect, but it didn't quite seem to deserve a perfect score (takes a lot to really impress me, sorry), so I had to decide which category to subtract from. In the end, creativity got boinked 'cause there wasn't anything SUPER DUPER original about the comic. Otherwise... rediculously clean FULLY COLORED art, accurate portrayal of opponent, engaging storyline, good flow, easy to understand, non-annoying text, good length: excellence. Congratulations on a job well done.--
--A very good entry, and one I was certainly impressed with. Quality of the drawing was very high, and the full color panels were breathtaking. Points were lost, however, for pixelization of panels and lines, which is distracting and easily fixed. Some of the blur effects did not look natural, and a note to read it 'manga-style' would be appreciated. I was als...

Hokaay~ you lucky people, I've been selected as a Judge for this round of the DarkKindom Tournament. I can already feel my pageviews going up. Now, I'm going to take my time judging dis shit, so y'all better shut up about "when are you going to post the results, Master?" and that kind of thing. It will just make me angry.

This journal is for my Official Judging Criteria, so I don't have to take up space in my NEXT journal, which will be Official Results. Expect detailed comments for both sides for EVERY match, because I'm just that cool.

You start out with a 5 in each criteria, and lose points if I find stuff wrong.

Creativity: how original your fight was and how much thought was put into it. Giving me cookie-cutter stuff is going to lose points here, no matter HOW well executed it is.

Storytelling: how gripping the story and dialog is. Clarity is big here. This also includes use of angles and expressions, as well as humor and other story-related elements. ALSO, how well played the opponents character is, because if you ignore him/her completely, I'm going to subtraaact~

Artistic Quality: Sheer overall quality of the art. This is weighted, to a degree, based on what I think your baseline skill is, so it IS possible for a very good artist and a relatively new one to get the same score if I think the newbie's art is a significant improvement on his/her usual work.

Finesse and Effort: How much time and effort was put into the work, as well as how 'clean' it is. Points will be taken off for spelling/writing errors in dialog, as well as sloppy cleanup of art. I will also subtract if part of the comic is obviously worse in quality then the rest, because it means you didn't plan your time out well.

All judging is done by ME and me only, dictator style. You can complain, if you like being laughed at. I may actually add criteria later :3

It moved in slowly, the flashes getting brighter and brighter until I could see all the bones in my hand whenever a strike happened. One strike was so close that the thunder was like a bomb going off right next to my head. I happened to be on the phone at the time, and the person on the other end was treated to me screaming FUCK and flinging the phone away while I adopted fetal position. Scared the SHIT outta me. Normally I like thunderstorms, but this was just too intense.
Life update, now that the anecdote is ovaar:
Last week for freedom. I plan on lazing around and going to movies. Gotta make an eye appointment to see about contacts (hurr hurr see) - I've always wanted to try them out, and I need to be able to actually see when I'm onstage. No glasses allowed during a performance.

Oh, I got into Wind Ensemble this year, which is basically superband. I tried really hard on the audition at the end of last year, so this makes me very happy.

Ok. Here goes.

DAMN does it feel good to be naked. Naked gets all this freakin' cultural flak from everywhere, about how it's "dirty" or "lewd", or about it's connotations with weakness and vulnerability, but I'm here to say that IT FEELS JUST FINE. In fact, I am MORE comfortable totally naked than I am with clothes on. And I don't think that should be thought of as strange. Of course, I can only indulge in this pleasure of mine when there is no one else around, which puts a damper on things, but meh, you can't have it all. Fear of being naked when alone, to me, reflects unease with one's body (and hence self image) or a result of social conditioning which only causes unnecessary discomfort.

Tharr we go.
It wells up from somewhere inside me, like a thick liquor filling a bowl, until it seems I'm about to overflow. I am frozen, unable to move, oblivious to all except the surface tension, suspended on a film so thin, it's like there is nothing there it all. Music causes it, sometimes. Or a scene. Or a person. Or a word.

Sometimes nothing at all.

You are caught, kept, sequestered. Time loses meaning, thoughts jumble and fall away, and you yearn towards... what? You cannot say.

And then it drains out, leaving you empty, tired, dry, done, like a bone, like the end of the day.
Heaved myself out of bed and right into my papasan chair, which is like a foot away. Watched episodes of Golden Boy. Laughed. Took a shower. Brought my laptop and equipment downstairs and set it on the front porch to ruminate while I headed to the kitchen. Warmed up 3 slices of leftover pizza (Sicilian mushroom-broccoli-sausage) and grabbed that half-bottle of Dr. Pepper. Drifted back out to the front porch, where I remain, watching butterflies flick from flower to flower in my garden and checking my email.
I'm going to be dual posting/submitting everything on here and on SA. No biggie eh?

Ok then. Here goes

So... I've decided to start a daily journal in my sketchie-y book. Ya know, stream of consciousness style. I started it during chemistry (last set) and basically ignored the teacher and wrote instead.

The rules:
1. Spelling doesn't matter.
2. I promised not to erase any words in the sketchbook.
3. Whatever I think gets written down.

THOUGHTS:
Is there any non-offensive way of asking someone to have sex with you? <Line clipped from this accounting to protect the innocent.> <Boobs>

How would society change if clothing was only warn for warmth? Would the sex obsession of America increase, decrease, or stay the same? How much would your body matter in everyday interactions?

...I was just thinking how creepy I would look curled up in a corner with my notebook, staring at people and writing things down.

*turns page over*

This is the first time I've put pencil to the back of a page in this sketchbook.

Back to the naked idea: bet people would get in shape if they were considered strange for wearing clothes.

Also: what would happen to the goth scene if you took away clothes? More piercings/tattoos? Body paint? Would it fall apart?

"I wanna go grams to moles"

Take that above quote out of context and it loses all meaning.

"All I care about is UNITS!"

Today's theme - ZOMBIES! (my anti-drug)

"I don't wanna go to Hund's House... he touches me..."

I love having Mads in front of me, it means I can poke her whenever I want to.

IDEA: Wall of Shame as a teacher. Take pictures of the kids that annoy you and tack them on the wall. GG!

Its all about the emPHAsis on the sylLable.

ZOMG! ITS HERE AT LAST!

Yes, it is that wonderful time of year, when it's not cold, there's lots of stuff to do outside, its warm, you can eat ice cream and not feel guilty, and its hot! And you get to wear shorts, and, and, people don't look at you funny for wearing Crocs.

AND THERE'S NO SCHOOL. CHA-CHING!

And so, life makes it's normal twisty path down the road to the future as I sit at my computer and watch endless amounts of anime. Thats right, rediculous amounts of time spent letting my grey matter slowly dribble out my ears on to the floor as flashing images and rushing backgrounds slowly turn brain into pineapple yogurt. AND I LOVE EVERY SECOND.

*note to all that read this- just ask me and I'll set you up with your anime fix. For a minimal fee. At my discretion. Heh heh.*

SO besides drowning myself in pseudo-japanese culture, what do I spend my time doing? WELL! I am SOO glad you asked! In fact, I am doing web design for my dear mother (not dear departed, oh no). And I'm getting paid for it! At least, I should be getting paid. Any day now, she says. Just let me see what you've done. Just let me get to the bank.

Yeah right

On the art side of things, I picked up a couple cartooning books and tried my hands at them. The books themselves sucked mighty ass, but they served as a way of forcing myself to draw. Which was the point. And the point is, I'm getting better by the freakin' second. Any time now Ill start my own comic.

Hermph. And if you believe that, tell me where you keep the spare key and what times you'll be away from home.

I figured I'd put this little section in here hee hee...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Trades: I'm totally open right now, just send me a notesie.
Requests: YES! I will be STUNNED to do a request for you!
Commissions: *dies laughing* Like anyone wants a commission from me ROFL HAHAAA!
I have developed a sudden interest in chemistry. I can't wait to take it next year. If you are wondering why, it's because I just finished a kickass book called Zodiac by Neal Stephenson.        The main person in it is a chemist, and he synthesizes all sorts of cool stuff out of his basement. I kept thinking, how cool would it be if I could do that? It would fucking rock. As a side note, the main character is an ecological freedom fighter, sorta, and does lots of neat things with chemicals and  pseudo-terrorism. Its a great book.
Now im off to find pete Richter and bother him about chemicals.
You know what's important? Ideas, thoughts, feelings. Facts, too, but only because they stimulate the other things. I was thinking, would I really want to read a blog about the daily factual happenings of a teenage male? Would I? No. It would be shit.
However, it would be kinda cool to hear Matt's opinion, uncensored, about lots of stuff. Opinions are cool.
Take Jared Boushang par example. For those of you who do not know, this particular jock species has a primal urge to constantly be the center of attention. This comes through in our Honors English class, where he tells stupid stories and mocks people about every 30 seconds. It's gotten bad enough that I am actually having fantasies about reaming him out in front of the class. I mentally try different scenarios out on him, to see the premutations. First I'll go after his OCD-like need to have everyone looking at him, then I'll attack how he condescends everything that can't run as fast as he does (never mind that my mind runs rings around his). I wonder if I'll ever get enough nerve up, or have the right opportunity, to confront him.
Hopefully AP English will screen out the stupid better then the laughably easy Honors system.
---
Do you guys often lie to your parents? I find that I do. A lot. Its actually become kind of habitual when school matters come up. "Is your homework done?" "Yeah, I just finished the last assignment" "How is your grade in science?" "Oh, fine, fine. I'm missing a couple assignments, but I'm making them up"
I feel ashamed.
I feel alone.
