I have a show at Yulecon at the end of the month, the weekend before Thanksgiving but Im not excited in the least. Im just tierd and want to crawl in a hole and fall into a deep sleep. But for now Im continuing to search for a more permanent job. Im sure once that happens I will have time to delv into the joys of what I love to do. Create. But for now I have Creators Block.

It's been a crazy year so far and I haven't felt very social of late. But I have alot of things I need to work on. Personal Goals per sae, working on art jewelry and getting my new website up, that by the end of the year would be nice. Looking for contract work or something in my field to have a little more stability, work on getting a new place for myself so my kiddos will feel comfortable visitng and staying and most importantly trying to be there for my boys even though Im about an hour away. That part really sucks.

It's hard to explain to anyone why things are going on so I prefer to keep them queit and Im just using this as a sounding board. It's hard to be creative right now. I miss my kids dearly. Life changes have kind of stumpt me for the time being. So Im taking a break from Shows and my next one is at the end of November at Yule con. In the mean time, Im working on the above and will continue to place jewelry on Etsy and work on inventory.

My favorite holiday is coming up, Halloween, but not sure how to celebrate it this year. I may just make Gothic Jewelry and leave it at that. I dunno. I may not even do that.

So yes - writers block, artist block, life block. It's hard to focus and I find myself forcing myself to get out of bed to work on things. I miss my kids and I miss my Dad who recently passed. Maybe one day it will all make since again and maybe my family and friends will understand, but now no one does. I feel so torn up inside but I have for a long time, now I just want to heal and move on. Now Im staring at the wall the ceiling - not wanting to do anything, becoming more anti social for others don't seem to understand.

I need to go out and find inspiration.

So what is new, I know I haven't posted in a while but then my mind is scattered and all over the place. Its funny, I just quit my job about a month ago and I am still stressed. Funny Ive been like this for a few years. Just tied up in knots. But that's just not interesting here. But I quit my job to do more freelance and to work on my jewerly.

So the exciting part is I am setting up shows and I am eager to see how they will do.

I have resigned from Corporate America to venture on my own. Now a freelancer in Graphic Design and Photography as well as my own Jewelry Creations. So far I have one Web account I am working on and 2 comission jewelry pieces. w00t! I am very excited!
In this new adventure of mine I plan on taking my time. Travel around and take pictures of what I like, good, bad or indifferent. I will start working on glass and metal once again. I do so love my metal!

And to top it all off - No more 3 hour commute everyday.

Going to The Brass Ball this Friday were it is a Steampunk Soiree.. So working on making a corset. Pattern and Fabric are cut - sew and size tonight.

Started early hours at work which is cutting my commute time in half from 3 hours to 1.5 hours total round trip. Oyi! Still need to find something closer.


Bad News
I didn't get the job for the Jewlery Product designer that I was shooting for. Ahhh Booo... O well, i was conflicted with working for the man - so maybe it's best. We will see.

Valentines approaches and for some reason has never been a favorite holiday of mine - I much prefer Halloween. In doing so, this Saturday I have just a hand full of friends coming over as my Bloody Valentine guest to be involved in Barbie Mutilation Zombie Party. It's BYOB - bring your own Barbie. Will be fun and will take a few pics. This was an idea I found on geekologie.com so I can not take the originailty from it - it's not mine - but will be fun. Serving up bloody maries and cosmos along with paints, goo and Xacto Knifes. Hmm is there something anywhere that says don't drink and make Zombies? LOL...

While in New Mexico I had a blast taking pictures but this one labeled - Dark Skies in New Mexico is my favorite. Taken at night... duh. and the clouds were passing very quickly. It was an erie night but couldn't see any stars that night. I was able to the last night and was in awee. I plan on going back in the next few months and have - TAKE TRIPOD- in big letters on my list to pack first. Also FLASH LIGHTS- with plans on having some boys play in the orchard with them while taking some shots with the shutter open. Can't wait to play with that one.

It's a little teary eye for me to go and visit my papa up there especially since my Granny Ruth passed away a few years back and I can still feel her presents while I was there. She had a huge heart and very young at heart as well.

So I am tierd now and will post some things later but wanted to share the first of a series to come.

I like the way this came out and really like the hooks in the front as more of a pendant than the back - but can be worn either way. It gives it that sorta industrial look to an elegant victrian piece.

Last night I finally got up and did a few things and discovered a silly book my mom gave me of Shrinky Dinks. So I thought, what the hell, I opened the blank plastic pages and drew a sorta day of the dead Mad Hatter. It was about 3 1/2" x 3 and placed it in the oven once I had colored it. Lots of different colors I don't normally use but hey, this is something new. While I helped my younger son Forrest make his lunch we put it in the oven and by the time we were done the shrinky dink paper shrank to be about 1 1/4" x 1 - the kids and I were in awweeee.... Talk about bringing back a childhood play thing. So I placed some varnish on the back so when I put it on a necklace it wont come off on my skin. So, tonight I put it on the necklace to show you. D&D Rosary...
Need to drill more holes... coming soon and it will be super long. Will need to think of different combos or find smaller dice.

Just made buisness cards...
They should be in the mail soon. Created 2 types, one for Old Half Moon / Rosaries and the other for all. This way I can pick and choose which one to give out. I may make the boys casqade the church during mass to put cards on everyones' car. Tehehe... will see, I think they will do anything to get out of going to mass.

Carrie Haub is a good friend of mine and she is coming over this Friday night for a photoshoot of her stuff and we will post. She is very excited and has extrodinary works. Very out there knits, in all sorts of mediums from plastic bags to cut up t-shirts. Fantastic Jewelry and a certain uniqueness to her own style. I look forward to sharing some of her works with you all.

Garage Sale....
Yepp, I need to lay off the designs for a bit and get my house into shape - the dining room is overflowing with old junk and my photo equipment. Need to get orgainzed and get rid of some of this stuff later this month. So maynot be making too many new things. But I am sure my insomnia will kick in and will be able to still create things.

Here I am selling the Day of the Dead rosary [link]

Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead is also called All Souls Day (November 2) following All Saints Day. This day was founded to honor all the faithful departed and is known in the Catholic community across the world.

I created this rosary to help celebrate in that tradition of course inspired by Mr. House Ape and little wooden skulls that were begging me to put them on this rosary (yes I know voices in my head- I am nuts). This Day of the Dead rosary was created with Nyatah wood (very similar to teak), carved into skull head beads and wire wrapped to create this extraordinary rosary and ornate design. It is a one of a kind item and defiantly unique.

The Forest of Glenn is the site I would like some of my artist friends to show their work as well. If your interested will work something out. So far I am showcasing my friend Brandon Jones and is amazing Chain Mail. I took the pics of his work last weekend and we were pretty excited it the outcome. I still want to take more picts of it outside so he let me keep them for a while to play with it....w00t! Next my friend Carrie with her crazy creations - were just working on a time to get together. Ahhh TIme!!! what's that?

So where did this name cForest of Glenn come from? Forest of Glenn has always been a name I have used on art along with Old Half Moon. I used to use it as Old Half Moon and the Forest of Glenn. It's the old strange spirit in side me, the fascination with the Forest, the Moon and the sun that sets, fairies, pixies and my little fantasy world. The bohemian, the gypsy the wondering soul inside me that alwasy feels a conection with a variet of things. So this too I share with my friends and is my way of completing a circle. I have always wanted to open a little store in Colorado which I was going to name just this - so for now it's on the internet. Hope you enjoy and come check it out.

I will still be creating items and posting on Old Half Moon Designs [link] so I will be wondering between the two depending on my mood and which personality I use that day. Teheheheh...

This weekend is pretty packed, a friend of mine will come over with his chain mail and I will take pics and post to my store on etsy [link] as a Guest and showcase his stuff. Then to a Lebanese restaurant for a friends birthday where we get to see belly dancers - hmmm.. Wonder if they will have a Hoka.

Sunday I am hoping will be layed back - I am dieing to get my dremil drill and drill press out to start making holes in the D&D dice, if so I should be able to get the rosary going and up and posted in the next week or so.

With the wooden skull beads coming in - I think an old friend just gave me some inspiration with the Day of the Dead - He has this awsome image on deviant also..[link] - I hope he doesn't mind. But with the new shipment I totally geeked out on making a wooden skull rosary too and will name it ~Dia de los Muertos!~ Also Day of the Dead... I think it will be beautiful. So I am a rosary nut. Sorry but I am and always have been. Just have the know how and the ways of doing it these days. These will probably go on a new Etsy account so as not to upset the more traditional style stuff in the other etsy account - but whatever right?

So the chain mail will go on the new account by Brandon and then my friend Carrie is also going to have a showcase as well with her crazy stuff. She and I are two peas in a pod which is very scary to most. Our ideas feed off of one another. Tehehehe.... So more later on that. I love the idea of showcasing my art friends, they are all so talented and will be a nice variety. I am hoping that in the next year to get my own domain name and post there stuff along with mine and then start looking into shows.

Fun Fun Fun!!!!! Wooo Hooo. Kids go back to school on Monday so I am takin the day off. Trent is almost 14 in just a few weeks and Forrest is 11 - so it will be nice and quiet that day! w00t! Ooooo time to make more stuff. I still need to get the Devil hat knitted - but want to croshee a trash bag first - literally... With plastic bags - the outcome is very cool. That may be something I work on at soccer games.

Ok - that's it for now. Maybe I can get some cool pics of the Belly Dancers on Saturday - that would be cool. Or maybe plan a shoot antoher time . Ok - one more thing to put on my list of wants.

Bwahahahaha.... O and Hallween coming up... Will have a Haunted House again for the Neighbor hood kids. I started a blog on how to make your house all decked out...[link] ... you can see a few pics - next blog will be how to make the paper mache mummy I made a few years back and then maybe a coffin next, ya I have 5 now.

I on the other hand enjoy the upside of life. Live life to the fullest, do your best, leap the hurtles and if you fall, get up and wipe your pants off and get back on the horse.

This all has nothing to do with art - or does it. Out here there are sooo many talented people, imaganitive and inspirational. It is delightful to see so many visionaries, dreamers and ones that are just beginning. My stuff is really not art - it's me - my feelings, emotions, soul, love, appeal and so on. I am a dreamer and without dreams I can not get through the day.

If I were to give advise to someon it would be this....Live and love and be yourself! Take care of those who are close to you - they are the ones that actually give a damn. And if someone critisise you, listen and with a grain of salt or sugar. It makes it easier. Who says who is right and who is wrong. It matters to me what I feel about something - if someone likes it cool. If not they have a right to that opinion.

In any event, "Salute, you are the game master of your own life. Choose wisely."

Wow - I just spent all the money i made on school supplies for the kiddos - what's up with that? I have made a few more things but may post later - need to take pics first and need to order a few things to finish them off.

Ooo - I did try out something new this weekend, Orgami, I saw these really awsome set of earrings that were orgami birds when I was at AKON19 and really wanted them - butI ran out of cash. Go figure. So my older son Trent,who enjoys art and stuff, and I made little orgami birds and put a few coats of varnish on them and plan on making them into earrings and a necklace. Will be fun to wear here and there - especially with my way cool Cirque del sole long shirt.

I must say though, with the jewlery thing, I have had people ask me if I make a certain type of jewelry or I should make this type because it is popular and then my mind is like - do I really want to make that - they can buy that at such and such. You know? Anyway just curious if others ever feel that way. Some times they are cool ideas and others its just not my style and in the world of money I guess I shouldn't be that way. Bad Becky Bad Bad!

I used to imagine what the fairies would look like during bedtime stories I heard when I was growing up. This necklace reminds me of something that one of the fairies would wear while frolicking around and getting into mischief. To reenact one of my childhood imaginations I hand selected hematite, turquoise, glass and seed beads that are wire wrapped and strung together with light chain to drip lightly around ones neck.

I hope this brings back a little of your childhood as well

Just a few more items to take pictures of maybe tomorrow and I will post those as well and then back to designing again.

Today was a prety cool day and low key. Other than soccer and guitar lessons that I chauffered the kids to this morning while hubby worked I found an old hardware store I used to go to in downtown Arlington. Wow, I found all sorts of cool toys ~ uh hum... I mean tools! So I bought a few sheets of stainless steel a new saw and some fresh metal files. Eeeeee. I am so excited... pulling out the old dremel drill and drill press and will teach the boys how to make their own medallians and things. Have a few ideas and if they turn out ok I may embelish them into the jewlrey I am making as well.

Good Times! Good Times! If something turns out cool enough I will shoot and place out here for all to see and laugh at.

As for the concept of the D&D rosary, went to the comic store this weekend and got out of there thankfully with not buying too much, but drooling like crazy. I did get a land number to call for bulk dice. Will call today and compare to the other website today. However, now my husband is questioning the sac-religious part of the concept. I don't look at it from that direction-I am thinking it more as another item that just craves to be made into a bead and then the possibilities are endless. I already have a bracelet and earring order for that as well. So my thought is test it out and see how upset others get. But if they don't like it - I really don't care. It's about making something I want to make and accomplishing that. I have some pictures on myspace of what some of the jewelry I will be posting hopefully by the end of the week. I have made other items and will need to do a photoshoot on those possibly Wednesday night. Kids will be at Grandma's.

Any who, wa-wa. Have not seen Dark Knight yet or Hell Boy... ugg... yes I suck - I know. But I so want to. Just too many other daily things get in the way. Will see... Guess why that is why I am enjoying Net Flicks - I always tend to end up seeing it once it's released on DVD. So still want to see Speed Racier, I haven't really heard anyone’s comments on that though. Hmmm, wonder how it is....

Yesterday had friends over working on the documentary. I feel like not much was accomplished, but in reality you have to do allot of background work first before you start seeing things achieved, so in that respect we did. It was kinda dorky however, on my dining table 4 of us all with laptops; my oldest son kept making fun of us. Saying we looked like we were having a study group or a terrorist group. Whatever silly, good times, good times…. Thanks you guys for coming over, I had a good time. It was great seeing you after eons and meeting the fams…..

Tonight Hobby Lobby, time to go buy more canvas.

Captains Log:
....all of a sudden I feel as if I am wearing tight clothes, my ears become pointy and I am a treky trying to fight off trebbles. Ok not really but sounds a little goofed up huh?

Ok, so nothing is in my head other than its Tuesday and tomorrow is hump day. So a few weeks ago we started our Doc on Anime and we are still pumped. The 3 of us have been compiling notes, images and features and have tons to do. I am really excited with the Hellsing pics I took, you can see them posted on [link]\bluemadamx. I am still sifting through them and Maybe I will post a few in the scraps. I am going back and editing alot and we plan on another venture in August. That should allow us time to catch up and get in touch with some of the artist and writers we met. Maybe we can have a set up interveiw time at the Comic Book store downtown. Maybe, I should win the lottery and then travel the world and get everything I need for this. Hahaha, patience Danielson, this too must take time. Wax on Wax off. I never got that - I think he just really wanted his car washed. I too can be philisophical when I want to and make others believe me. But not today. This weekend is the first one I have absolutely nothing planned and I am excited. That means I can play with my stuff (art goof nut) and get some more stuff out. Yes - out of my head. O and the mood thing? Not really feeling that way -just liked the little character! Bwahahahahaha....

Most of the time I am at work in the photoroom shooting product or graphic design work and at home shooting whatever floats my boat at the time. I guess I have a sort of A.D.D going from one project to the other. It's hard to call it art, more like seeing what's in my mind.
