In under two weeks I will find out if I have passed enough of my papers to qualify for Bachelor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering SECOND PROFESSIONAL YEAR so many words! This means I'm currently half-way to completing my degree... I reckon I should know more by now.




2009 has been wonderful! Got to know some really cool people. Had a few woopsies, like allowing an otherkin to flat with us in the first half of the year. Memorable quotes:

I'm currently studying at the University of Canterbury to be an Engineer! Weee!

So that means 24 hours a week of lectures/tutorials/labs... on top of which they want 8 hours per paper as well... so that's 56 hours... wait, am I supposed to sleep too?

NCEA results arrived on Thursday. It took me two days to figure out that I had done abismally on them.

I was looking at the green sheets. Those tell you all your marks for the entire year. The ones you did during the year in school time (internals) and your exam marks (externals). Now, since I can't be fracked remembering the difference, I just looked at the overall and smooshed them together to see how I'd done, and that was okay.

Today I read the white sheets. Those separate exam marks from school work marks. This was following three of my friends who I thought I was around the same level at getting marks half again as good as I had. This worried me. I checked to see how I'd done in exams only and saw that I had seriously screwed up.

I only did 2/3rds as good as I should have, and that was over-all! I must have sucked VERY VERY much in exams to fall that low.

Comparing internals to exam marks, my Excellence grades dropped by 44.7%. In other words, take half of my best results and drop them back a grade. Not good. I REALLY suck at exams.

The worst change was English. From internals to externals I dropped one grade thrice and two grades once. Bad.

(For internationals, the marking is: Excellence = A, Mert = B, Achieved = C, D, E and Not Achieved = F, I think)

it was a very bad afternoon.

My family is stealing me away for a week to a holiday house in Te Anau.
Leaving: Monday 16 Jan
Returning: Sunday 22nd Jan

Said house has no wireless internet.
Said house doesn't even have a phone line.
Said house's cellphone reception is near to zilch.
Said house doesn't even have a FREEZER. Alien or food storage device!

I will return from said house on Sunday,

Yes, I did promise you all a lot of new artwork post exams... and I have been pretty slothful of late, unfortunately.

Currently Procrastinating:

- Learning to drive
- Learning Linux
- More 3D work
- Scanning/Colouring artwork

What I've been doing:
- Hanging out with friends. Yes, me. Friends.
- Getting hooked on txt
- Playing old pokemon gameboy games (so sue me, it's fun )
- Playing RuneScape with friends YES FRIENDS.
- Drawing

It's been pretty unproductive, yet surprisingly social. Capping it off the 2005 Dunedin Devmeet in december, ~Crazy-Kitty13 flying down to my house for 10 funtastic days and ~digitalJackalnz staying in Dunedin for a week

Anywho, fun times! Wish me luck never to learn how to drive. Hehe.
