My Photoshop trial ran out, and it'll be a while before I can purchase it an Illustrator. 'Course, theres always Tegaki E and paintchat, of course. Eh. We'll see. If anything, this will give me a chance to focus on my traditional art and the comic scripts Im working on. Anyway.

I actually have something thats not me ranting about my inability to find my inspiration to talk about. If your interested in making comics, writing for them, or just networking with other budding comic artists out there, I'd suggest giving The Cerberuz Comix Webpage a look. One of the mods is , who I happen to know personally and is serious about what he does, so if you're serious as well, then why not give it a try? After all, Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained, eh?

A couple of weeks ago (Has it been two already?) I was at Disney World/Universal Studios for our Senior Class Trip, which was awesome. I'd say more about it, buuut meh. Im lazy.

Theen that Saturday after we came back was Mayfest, which was not as awesome as Disney but great nonetheless. The bookmarks sold well, which makes me happy ^^ I sold all of them except for four (I made copies) and one piece of artwork, which was cool. I have 14 more orders for the faerie/butterfly bookmark, and 2 more for the red-lipped lady. Ill get on to that as soon as I get home. Maybe.

Uuuuh, other than that life has been pretty uneventful. Im still trying to get out of my art block, that has been attacking me viciously ever since before Disney. Now, I am halfway through a picture I really like, but I need to muster up the will to finish it and submit it here, which may or may not happen. We shall see.

On a sidenote, I am ready for the new Death Cab CD to come out. I am determined not to be put off by the 'new car' sound of it and LOVE IT. LET ME LOVE YOU, NEW CD.

On another sidenote, the AP English exam was a breeze. AP French?....not so much. o^o I hope I at least got a three on that one, that would be magicalfunsuperfantastic.

Oh, and the book Wicked by Gregory Maguire is superbly brilliant. I know theres a 95% chance that Ill never get to see the musical, so this is the next best thing, if not just as good. I recommend it highly D:< go read it NOW.

Other than that, since I've finished the two important scholarships (namely the poster design and portfolio ones), now I kinda get to use my independent study Art IV class to, well, work on whatever the hell I choose o: which is rad. I get to go back to my first love, colour penciiiils Meaning that you may or may not see more colour pencil drawings (and Ill finally finish those requests I've had for ages)? I've actually had the inkling to draw Sylvester again lately D: I love his colour scheme more than any other character I've made.

XD anyhoo, how're you guys doing today? everything is fine on my end. I havent been up to much, just schoolwork o_o not very much art lately, which is rather weird seeing as my workload for these classes is so much less than the ones I had last semester XD; mostly, I've been playing Okami and Guitar Hero and hangin' out with my buds.

Oh, and I got my hair cut XD short. Short, like it only goes right past my ears. To tell the truth, I really didnt want it to be that short but meh. S'fine, I guess XD It'll grow back out soon.

In other news! Tax return money! Yay! I've got this adorable little sketchbook now that I've been doodling in for the past week or so, aaand at the moment its just got alot of nonsense pictures in it - Batmans, Supermans and Ryuks and stuff. Ill scan in some of the pages I like when I get around to it - actually, Ill put them up on my
livejournal instead, since they aren't really DeviantART worthy XD I may fix up some of the ones I like and upload them though.

FRIDAY After our half day Mary Anne and Nathan and I went to see FUCKING SWEENY TODD. Oh my GOD. I cant wait to get the soundtrack! Final Fantasy Revnant Wings is really reeeeally good too ^^ Its like.... Final Fantasy Tactics Advance...but...not...like...I wouldnt go as far as to say that its a better game - well, it is, kind of-...they both have their highs and lows, but I think I love them equally D: I played the crap out of FF Tactics Advance though, so Im loving FF Revnant Wings AND SO SHOULD YOU.

For Christmas I gots me a Sansa mp3 player?!? It rocks D: a little wonky, but I'll get used to it 'cause I loves it.

I can never think of adequate titles for these things D: *lame*. I've got alot of stuff on my plate ATM ((birthday presents, a contest entry, logo design and a character sheet to name a few)) but I think I may be ready to start back doing requests again o: since asked first, hers will be the first one I crank out whenever I get around to starting them. Theres a very good chance that I may not get to them any time soon. Its probably overly ambitious and slightly masochistic of me to take more than one request at a time in the first place, buuuut I guess Im willing to deal with it.

Heres the thing: I need the practice with my coloured pencils, so unless you have a preference, the pictures will be done in coloured pencils on bristol board paper. My scanner doesnt do a wonderful job scanning my pictures, so Im willing to mail them to you if you want. Most likely the picture will be backgroundless, and I think Im only up to doing one character per picture sooo yeah XD; Im not expecting for more than one or two more people to request anything so the pictures may be more elaborate, depending on my mood and time allowance D:

ANYWAY. I had the superest birthday ever o: I got this giant wooden box of prismacolor color pencils thats just like....sticks of coloured magic. Simply amazing. I could die.

Except not really.

I bought myself The Masterharper of Pern by Anne McCaffery and the special edition of Pan's Labyrinth as a birthday present to myself. Because...I spoil myself. XD

AAAAND We went to Red Lobster ((even though we nearly had to cancel AGAIN)) and I had the most DELICIOUS CALAMARI ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH. I SWEAR. I nearly DIED. I need more o^o Calamari is officially my most favorite food of all time.

Eeee overall it was a wonderful day o: And my sister and I just got back from buying the Deathly Hollows at Walmart. Unfortunately there were no fights and no shootouts so my going was completely superfluous, seeing as i didnt even stand in line o: I let my sister do all the dirty work.

Secondly, before I get into the Atlanta bit I would like to direct some traffic over to my good friend because she's full of greatness. I was with her and our other friend Bee when they took some of their pictures, and I must say that they truly are talented XF not only that, but I miss them immensely ): The pictures there are really innovative, and who knows, you might even see someone you may or may not recognise


O-okay. About Atlanta. Theres not really much I can sum up in just a few paragraphs, honestly. Like I said in closing ceremonies, it was such a surreal, weird and yet enjoyable experience that to put it into words would almost demean it. First off, I loved being away from home and I loved the feeling of almost total independence. Hanging out with and Bee was just about the most enjoyable experience I've ever had, even though I really didnt do anything but kick some ass at bowling (I DONT CARE IF IT WAS JUST BY ONE POINT OK XDDD) I bought very little at the mall, and I rode absolutely nothing at Six flags- although I *did* take a picture with Batman, which was sooo cool. Oh, and I got some decals for my car that dad let me use and a CAPE. OOOH A BATMAN CAPE. I was so excited, it was just about the greatest experience Batman has ever had.

I met some really great people, and I also realized just how utterly extroverted I truly am o: I had some seriously funny conversations, usually followed by very serious discussions in the evening before curfew with my friends. Seriously, the trip wouldnt've been nearly as great without those two, they are pretty much two of the coolest people I've ever had the enjoyment of meeting (that sentence makes no sense, I know D: cut me some slack, I just woke up). I can count how many times I've heard Shakira that week (many, many times and not just from Bee's iPod. It was really weird oO ) And all of the flatulence...XDD heehee, you guys, Im such a sucker for fart jokes.

Anyway, I could go into finer details but I dont think I will. I have an entire weeks worth of journals and deviations to pick through, so bear with me on that you guys, you know how utterly slow I can be when it comes to that. But Atlanta will always be a nostalgic place for me, whether Im thinking of those creepy pictures of Nicholas Cage at the Lenox Mall or running up and down the stairs at the Art Institute. And I cant think of anything good to wrap up this journal with so Ill just leave it at that. XD

But besides that depressing stuff (for me, anyway), I managed to buy some things before my wallet was spirited away into wallet heaven or wtfever o: I went to Spencers and got some tasty TASTY smelling incense thats like happiness sticks, aaaand a new incense holder that has a little storage compartment inside and these golden leaf imprints onnit o-o tres nifty. Aaaand (because im stupid and weird) I went to EB Games and bought Crouching Tiger hidden Dragon and House of Flying Daggers on DVD so I could tape over them on VHS o: I luuuurve those movies so much ;^; Im so crazy. And not only THAT, but as if the rest of the world knew the pain I was going through at the moment my Medabots DVD came in the mail (MORE NERDAGE AAAAAAH) and I rejoiced and ate Chinese food that my mom bought me o: yaaays....eggrolls......

SO. Basically, not only to I have to work every day this week except for Tuesday and Thursday (cant go to art because my money was stolen D: ), but I have no money to spend! D: I was planning on hanging out with Brittney and Charda buuuut thats out of the question, seeing as soon as I get my license back I have to save on gas D: Booo.

Anyhoo, Im seriously, *seriously* debating on whether to put the rest of my gallery in scraps D: I know I can do better things- the traditional media I do at school and such is a *heck* of alot better than the things that I put up here, and quite frankly Im unhappy with it. I know that I hate most of my work to some degree, but I have to pick the lesser of two evils D: I've been practicing alot in Corel Painter (as those of you who have been keeping up with me know) and hopefully Ill be able to pop out a few decent pictures soon D: I just ask that you guys bear with me, Im doing my very very best.

Other than that, Im hoping to become a bit more active here like I was on my other account; that means commenting, responding to comments and the like. Lesseee....While I was gone, my rabbit died D: I took the SATs (and either pwned it or failed it miserably) and went to see Epic Movie. Which was the most amazingly fantasticular thing I've ever seen in the history of epicular movies ever created by man. Yeah.

As far as school goes, I've got laughably easy classes this time (AP English III, 'Peer Tutor' for an Art I class ((meaning I do nothing)), Art II and French III ((which I love more than pie itself))) so I should be able to update more here, but we'll see how that goes. I cant wait until I get my tax money soes I can buy a DS O:

Also, it seems that this, ah, extreme influx in workage of the home persuasion is having a long-term effect on my sanity- not that I was all that sturdy brain-wise in the first place, but one comes to the realization that they are less than competant when one finds themself singing old 90's pop songs during class for no apparent reason; BAD, pop songs, like gonoherpalidial warts of the brain.

Yay today birthday, yay 5 day subscription thingy. Its full of win D:

So lately I've been really, really unsatisfied with my art. Thats why theres nothing in my gallery and everything is in scraps now XD; When I feel that I make something that actually qualifies as art, Ill put it up.

So anyway, today I am one year older than...well, last year XD Its okay. My mom put 'Happy Birthday JaLisa!' on like five pieces of paper and stuck them everywhere, which was pretty cute. And my sister sent me two 'Happy Birthday' text messages, equally cute. Finding this subscription thingy was a pleasent surprise also, although I doubt Ill be able to renew it after the 27th or anything XD bummer.

Overall Im just glad to be alive for another year. ^^

WELL.

This week has been pretty uneventful D: other than the fact that I went to the dentists today. *shudder*.

As far as my art go, I guess you could say its changing- alot. Im starting to pay attention to more detail, which helps out I guess D: its a pain, but it helps. I suppose the reason my art hasnt been going anywhere is because Im just so doggone lazy, but if Im gonna make a career out of this thing, which I hope to do, I guess Im gonna have to crack down and start applying myself.

....applying myself outside of school. *shudder*..

Speaking of applying, I may be getting a job in the very near future D: depends on whether Food Lion or Bi-Lo's gets back to me first. *crosses fingers*

Well o_o to distract myself from things that I need to be doing, I shall do this character...meme...thing....that I stole from ....yeah.

Anyway....I guess I should use Moon on this buuut he's severely underdeveloped, as compaired to my other characters (even if he's my oldest oo; poor guy)...so here it goes or whatever.

Rido o-o...he doesnt have a last name...I wont go into specifics.

He turns 18 May 18th o-o

Race? He's an anthropomorphic raccoon, although lately I've been drawing him human

Appearance

1)If this character were to suddenly become part of the 3D world, and ended up in a heavily-populated area, how many stares would he/she get?
It depends on whether he's humanfied or anthropomorp...fif...fa..tized.....if its the later, than yeah o_o unless he's at an anime convention or something.

2)Is your character considered normal in his/her own world?
Eeeh...not really.... I'd say he stands out a bit, but then again he doesnt go out much XD

3)What would be his/her most recognizable feature(s)?
I'd say the fact that he's a black and white raccoon....not albino or anything, just black and white. And his long haaair ;-;

4)Would you consider your OC as attractive?
XD yeah...but then again this is me your talking about o_o I find almost everything attractive, in one way or another.

Personality:

1)Temper?
Rido? XD oh please. He has the temper of a box full of kittens. Really o.o he's just a laid-back kinda guy, he takes everything in stride.

2)Does your character ever get depressed?
Mmm....I'd say yeah, from time to time, due to certain circumstances.

3)Leader or Follower?
Neither, really. Rido kind of just does his on thing. Although he hangs around with Moon, who is definately a leader when you come down to it, most of the time he's kind of just there o.o and if he gets bored he'll leave.

4)What is the main aspect of his/her personality?
Oh wow...just the fact that he's so stoic and everything, which is a far cry from the way he was as a child o.o I'd say that as he got older he realized that it was more advantageous for him to keep his feelings to himself instead of expressing them to others or whatever. He's not easily offended so you'll hardly ever see him angry, either.

History

1)Does your OC have a family of any sort? If so, are they still alive?
Yes o.o His mother and his father who are shamans for a village...shamans as in they heal the villagers and perform exorcisms and whatnot. His ageing aunt who is a necromancer lives with his parents...she's pretty cool, I like her character alot o-o Oh, and his brother Sith XD who's a much better shaman than Rido, but very outspoken and arrogant.

2)Is your character out on his/her own? If so, why?
Oh no o.o He lives by himself, but his brother comes and spends weeks on end at his home. Moon is in and out, usually whenever Drifter kicks him out or something...Muse and Ani drop by occasionally too. And when he's not at home he's usually hanging out with Muse and Moon, or the other guys (as in Eriko, Talon, Mielon, etc etc)

3)Has he/she encountered any traumatizing events?
Well....nothing traumatizing, really, as much as life-altering. o-o but once again, I'd rather not get into that because its long and drawn out and complicated and crap.

4)What was probably the best time in his/her life so far?
Rido would say that the best time of his life was the time before the 'life-altering' event above happened o.o he's definately changed since then.

Romance

1)Single?
XD, yes. Overall Rido just has a seclusive personality. He's enigmatic and very stoic, and doesnt much like to talk about himself or his family, so anyone who doesnt already know him will pretty much hit a wall o.o

2)Has your OC developed any romantic relationships?
No....not really...

3)Virgin?
Yes

4)Does your character like flirting?
No XD whenever people flirt with him he's all 'o_o eeeeeh....'. XD it chokes him up.
