I have been here for 4 years which has flown by with not alot of art from me I must admit hahahaha but I can remeber when i was introduced to this place by Mimiru44 and she was teaching my all about anime.

There is so much more than one thing on this site, it really is an artistic community. Which is rare. Even an classes you dont get the same feeling of creativity.

Everyone is here for the same reasons...the love of art.

Thinking about these sorts of things makes me want to do more and share more.

I have lost all motivation for my illustration/printmaking project...due in 4weeks.

I admit, Im not a lover of drawing real-like, as in still life-pencil-shading-charcoal-real. I can do it, it's just not something that I would choose to.
But I think that's all my teacher wants.

Ive been doing line drawings more kinda "cartoony" I suppose, of anything and everything really.

This one was for basics, and I mean baaaaaasics. How to make the pallets dis/appear etc but since it's a live webinar with the option of asking questions there and then, there were a few little hints and tips along the way which is always appreciated.

Cant wait for next week!

And yes...I will do something with my new-found experience. Something design-worthy. Hopefully.

He only wants to see work that was done in class, which is my Nation Diploma work since I havent done anything yet at Colchester. Im ready to cart my portfolio and sketchbooks round the one-way system to UCS for 10am tomorrow morning.

AND

I have a presentation back at Colchester at 12.45 (I hope its then anyways). SO I will then run the other way round the one-way system home, drop off my big-ass folder, run to the train station and PRAY that I get to university in time to give my not-much-rehersed presentation on...Art Nouveau Illustration.
I know I know, its a great topic. But I will be rushed. And I hate being rushed.

Any tips on keeping calm in a storm?

Im sure your inbox is chockablock of these journals but hey, why skimp on tradition!

I'm trying to sort out lots of things in my life, and the most important thing is my art.
Being at university now, has made me realise how much time is takes up from doing art for me. For fun. Art has got to be fun, not just work work work.
So my "resolution", is to do more artwork for the hell of it, and to become a more active member of the dA community.

I shall have semi-regular journals, and hopefully (!) lots more artwork to go in my gallery. Which by the way...I am totally not liking right now. Refurb time!!

If anyone wants to do any trades or even has any theme/suggestions to inspire me that would be great!

College is officially over.

I hung my final show yeaturday and its being marked today, friday, monday and tuesday.
I was really pleased with it when i finished. It took all day. Partly cus I called into work at 12-3 to cover lunchtime rush. Thanks for the notice guys! But it gave me time to rest and stop stressing over what i was doing!! I got eberything up, sticky fixes arent as bad as everyone makes out, but they'll be a pain to scrap odff after Im sure.

I had a corner space with:
2 Hand stitched wallpapers
2 teeshirts hung on hangers
1 teeshirt folded in bag
1 tesshirt wrapped in gift box
2 sample card books
3 handmade paperbags
3 giftcards and envelopes
and some contact cards, just in case =]

Its all brown paper and reccyled paper and ting lol
We get our predictive grade on the 29th, and then the official one on the certificate sometime in July. I need Merit Merit Pass to get into DeMontford. I really hope I've got it. Im so worried. I dont know what Id do if I didnt get the grade. Run away and mope I suppose.

It turns out that you can have a stretchy hair-tie thing around your wrist for 6hours before it starts to mess up your circulation.
I though I had RSI in my hand 'cus of being on the pc so much [webdesign course is cool, almost finished my webby]...then we thought it was a trapped nerve. Nothing would help. The bit between my thumb and index finger was totally numb and there was a line of pain going from under my ring finger down to my elbow. It really DID hurt. It was then I noticed that amongst my black beads was the hair-tie. CLICK. lmao It was so funny!! And also sooooooo reliving. Just like when you get the feeling back after pins and needles...or bloodrush to your head.
I dont have to chop off my hand anymore. Go me.

Im now waiting for teach Nige(l lol) to finish with two people on the board before he can tell me what to do next. Obviously, DA! was first on my agenda. I mean I had to tell everyone about my saved arm. Yup.

Anyways...

I started a new job, well, I quit my last one cus of my feeling like crap lol and just happened to be called in for an intervew the next day. I have weird luck like that. Turns out, I was just what they needed.

So yea, tis just a xmas temp job at ASDA Wallmart whatever lol and we have just had a crash training course. Is supposed to be 4days, we did it in 2, cus they need us out asap. Im shattered. Sitting around listening and watching OHP projects is tiring!! I know have 2 more days of till training, cus Im on checkouts.
*sigh* I also have to do 2 modules on the CBL (pc test thing) to do befre Im allowed on the shop floor...my first shift is Thursday. I have college on wed. I also have to do some work at college on tuesday night. So I have 2moro from 3-6 to do both. Its supposed to take the whole 3hours.

But on a positive note!! We get paid for training!! So just for sitting I get £94. And because I do a couple of hours after 10pm I get the night rate which is £7.25 an hour!!! So on 23rd Dec (yeah I know VERY late xmas shoppn for me)...Ill have...wait for it...*grabs calculator*
