I've been busy! Honest to god! I'm really sorry to anyone and everyone who was expecting more doodles.
D: About month or two ago a bunch of crazy people with their crack *cough*MONSTER HUNTER PORTABLE 2G*COUGH* gave me some of their crack and I got -ADDICTED-. So I was playing that since the two week vacation we had between semesters. D: I like my cat that only buffs AND DOESN'T MAKE THE DRAGON RUN IN THEIR DIRECTION. That makes for more chasing time and less Hammer-in-the-face time :(. What else, ... AH. YEAH, MY Laptop! It asploded, well, not really, a Windows file got corrupted and my laptop refused to start up. I thank my computer savvy friend for fixing it. 感動します～!! It doesn't connect to the home network though, but that's fine.

Aww yeah, what else??

I've been looking for a job after I graduate at the end of the year (HOPEFULLY. I don't trust my University's speed at resolving errors, wrong class allocation, etc). Maybe starting next year, I'll be saying hello from Seoul. ^^

I've also been approached by a man to work on a Trading Card Project. It sounds interesting, I've decided to participate in designing and drawing a whole bunch of stuff with a group of peeps. Half excited, half nervous~!! Some time in the future, you might be able to see my work, hahaha

It'll be worked on! Albeit sporadically because I have slightly more important agendas to attend to, such as final semester at University, and career searching (...if only I could marry a rich man, then I can work on being a better artist without fear of starving to death). But it'll get done. Hopefully it doesn't end up like that time I did the Western Zodiac... and only did six -- then the remaining six -2 years later- D:! But yeah, I will keep it in mind - I do enjoy looking at their bright and blinding colours haha.

Read it the whole way through -- because it doesn't say to stop drawing anime FOREVER, and it's not saying anime is dumb and a waste of time. Now breathe, stay calm... and read it with an open mind. :O

You need to stop drawing anime.

This isn't something you have a choice in. If you are truly serious about your artistic improvement, you need to stop drawing anime. You can go back to it later once you've learned the basics, but until you have a firm grasp of anatomy, value/light, perspective, color theory, composition, etc. you are not ready to stylize in any capacity. Being an artist is fucking hard, and you cannot cut corners just because you don't want to spend time learning the boring things. Very few people want to actually draw photorealism, but you have to know how. Simplifying forms, in a way, is much, much harder than drawing things as they are.

Realism is not a style, but a foundation upon which all other art forms are based. Every truly successful artist learned to draw from life before he stylized his artwork. Even abstraction is grounded in life (albeit further removed than some other forms); an abstract artist still needs to know how to use symbols to connote feelings and represent complex forms. He has to know what a real person looks like to be able to create a symbol which registers as "human" to the viewer. He has to know how colors and shapes and their arrangement subtly affect the human mind in order to invoke the desired emotion within the painting. All of these things apply to anime/manga artists as well.

A realistic painter, an abstract artist and a mangaka (I feel gay saying this but I don't want to repeat "___ artist" again) all draw the same thing: the human form. Each artist does so in a different manner, but fundamentally, they are representing the same exact thing. Each of these artists learn, or at least should learn, how to draw the human form in the same way -- they start with what they see, and only after that has been mastered do they move onto exaggerating and altering the anatomy and form in favor of something more aethestically pleasing or appropriate for the piece's mood and context. You cannot start drawing things stylized to begin with, or your learnings are fundamentally flawed from the beginning; instead of consciously stylizing things in a way to make them more appealing, you end up languishing in ignorance, further and further distorting the form until it's so far gone it's not even recognizably human -- you're stylizing something that is already a stylization. It just doesn't work. You have to have that foundation, something you can return to in order to understand what makes something human and what makes something not look human, or you will be completely blind to your errors.

Tracing the footsteps of an artist you admire is always more productive than blindly copying his final works. Maybe time for a reinstall, EPIC SAD FACE. I'll do next Friday after my final exam for 'Dilemmas of International Relations'. Speaking of which, I got my research paper back for that subject. I got a Credit which is a 'C' i guess? Our marking system goes HD (High Distinction) D (Distinction) C (Credit) P (Pass) F (FISH! I mean, FAIL) then E (Hey, you didnt even hand it in!). When doing my paper, i just pictured an Asian man talking, for purposefully incorrect grammar and awkward phrasing. Its worked and the professor marked more leniently. Yep, abusing the "Oh I'm asian, me dont understand what you're saying" power, even though Im so white-washed

Anyway, yeah, thats my rant. DAMN YOU PHOTOSHOP CS, why do you have to be the way you currently are - FROZEN.

I also want to get a fringe and lose about 7~8 kgs, but thats another whole new can of worms. :<

Well, thats just awesome! I thought it'd be okay to let my 4 year old niece to play with my tablet but I WAS ABSOLUTELY WRONG. Tablet isnt functioning properly! Zero sensitivity and the tracking is very very jittery. so yeah, TABLET BROKE TABLET BROKE, and i dont that much money to buy a new and better one unless i want to stick my finger into my bank account which i dont want to do (20y.o and hasnt used his own bank account yet? lawl D: ). Might just buy another 4x5 Graphire3 Tablet ... <________< my 5 year old one served me well ... XD

Been playing Wii Sports. I have to say, as much as its an awesome game, I pretty much suck at all the sports compared to everyone else whos been playing at my house. My mom and friend Jaclyn are pros at bowling, my brother owns boxing, my friend Nadine (she bought a Wiimote even though she doesnt own a Wii) rocks at Tennis and Baseball ... YEAH, I'm great at Golf, and its by default because no ones interested in it, hahahahaha XD

Bought two Virtual Console games! Gunstar Heroes from the Sega Genesis (I still have the original cartridge somewhere) and Bomberman '93 from the Turbografx (its not in the Australian Virtual Console list though, i changed my region settings to the UK lol )

Anyways, expect a good deal of updates after Christmas/New Years. I haven't had much time to sit in front of the computer to draw anything decent, just posting lukewarm attempts at being a brutally honest critic over at 4Chan.

Its December, hoooraaah! Anyways lets talk about the weather!! I very much dislike the weather at the moment. One day its blisteringly hot, the next, cold, then windy, then theres those days that start off chilly, get really hot in the day and then really cold at night. I believe, Mother Nature has been throwing back a few kegs when it came to our weather. Oh oh! The other day, the sky was yellow in the morning. No no, not that yellowy orange color you see during dawn or dusk ... it was GREENISH YELLOW. It was crazy! (And a bit scary too, i've never seen the sky that color before)

TWO MORE DAYS! TWO MORE DAYS!! Then i can finally get my clutches on a Nintendo Wii *shakes fist*. Im still undecided on which TV to hook it up to though, the huge plasma TV or my regular TV or that other huge TV that isnt anywhere near direct sunlight (and broadcasts filipino channels...<___< ). But yeah, cant wait!

If anyone is keeping track of those Super Smash Bros doodles i've been doing (and soon to be made so people can print them out as stickers or what not), NINE more characters to draw! Thats THREE THREES! AND THATS AWESOME!! (... its a 4Chan thing, just butchered XD). After i finish, sticker/wallpaper time!

Anyways, stuff!

- JESUS, ALLAH, BUDDHA, AHURA MAZDA!! My home computer just DIED. Well, not REALLY died, but ... It starts up, then restarts, then starts up, then restarts, and so on and so forth. So i reboot the computer and my mom was like "But what about the photos??". I was like, BLAH, i cant get the photos if i cant even access C Drive. So this time round, i've set up a photobucket account for her. That way if the computer ever bricks again, at least her pictures are floating inside the interwebs.

Tues/Wednesday i would find material for my essay and just bookmark them. I would then open those bookmarks and do my research and writing on Thursday and hand it in on Friday. Well .... Internet connection was down all Thursday. XD. TOTALLY SCREWED. So on the Friday, i went to Uni at 8 in the morning and did the whole thing on the day and handed it in at 4pm. Note to self: Dont do things on the last week. XD

2 or something weeks ago my friend Ben was talking about our Diplomas and stuff and i was like "When do we get ours?" ... his reply was "We got ours 3 or 4 weeks ago". I WAS SHOCKED!! I havent recieved mine yet ... XD

Anyways, 2 weeks later (which was like, today) i finally did something about it and went to QANTM and asked where mines was. Anywas, yeah, they just forgot to send it prolly (i didnt ask <__< ). Anyways, fine and dandy, i went to go get a hair cut! ... lol BEING POOR as i am, i went to pay for my cut (... and my other one i had done in December) And it costed about $67.00 ... anyways, Hairdresser Dan said to just pay $60 ... *SIGH* AGAIN, being poor, i didnt have that much money...XD so i gave him $50 (if only i didnt spend money on lunch..which was... $10, lol foresight failed). I'll prolly pay it off next week. XD ... IM SORRY DANNY (x_____x"

So on my way home today, i was sitting down at my bus stop waiting for the bus which was about 20 mins away. This dude (race and age not important <__< ) comes up to me begging for money. I was about to burst out laughing because heck, i only had enough money for the bus and i couldnt even pay fully for my haircut, but anyways i didnt give him any. (Probably spend it on booze or ciggies)

AMAZING!! Thats what i have to say. AMAAAZING. 9th December was Industry Night for QANTM where people from the Animation and Gaming Industry (HI AURAN, HALF BRICK, THQ and EVERYONE IM FAILING TO MENTION!!) who get to look at some of the work the student do, and possibly find potential employees!! Ooooooooh I wish i was an employee of one of these companies!! HECK i dont even mind if i end up coloring rocks and trees all day, i'd get to say "But -I- work at a video game company". Anyway, sheer awesomeness!

Allllllrighties! Starting at the beginning of this whole thing!!

Well, Thursday morning, started my DEMO REEL ... FAIL Holly, FAIL, and quickly found as many of my nice drawings as i could and put them into my reel which lasted up until the afternoon and such. Then after that, we had to move 95% of the chairs from 2 floors into like, 2 rooms. Then computer monitors (SHEEESH the old monitors are HEAVY, then again ... it could be im physically weak (.___." ) the computer towers and such into a room and tried to get our places prettied up. THing is though, it was getting a bit late in the day so we left our room (which, by the way, was still a shocker (n.b. shocker = ugly)) for the next day. OH, and i'd like to add that i was at the back of the room in a corner ... XD yeah, BRILLANT place to be!

Friday Morning, 9AM. Not. Very. Many. People. There. Our room (12.5) was barely changed while the room next door (12.4) were pretty much ready to go. YAY GO ORGANIZATION!! So it was just me and my friends moving EVERYTHING in our room. Hehehehe, we were moving tables out of our room and we ran out of space.... so we snuck two tables into the office of some guy. HAH! TAKE THAT. *cackles evily* OH!! Behind my area was a locked door, so we pulled the table away from the door and opened it. HURRAY, from back of the room to the front of a door.

I went home for an hour and a half or something to freshen up (moving furniture for 5 hours ... yeah) and to bring other paraphenalia from home to make my space look not as empty. It was reaching about 3~4ish and we were pretty much done!! We hid the wires, hid the clutter, got rid of all the not-being-used computers And, it was just the 5 of us!! Go Team! Yeah, i then finished up my showreel and my area (i didnt take photos... WHY, WHY IN THE WORLD DIDNT I). THEN the rest of the room's students came in.

LOL, some of them needed help moving their stuff and such, but sorry, no, just no, we've been there all day doing that and we wanted a break. It was their fault for getting in late. >;P. Then it was 5:30ish, and Bryn (General Director of QANTM) i think, unless it was another staff person told us we had 30 minutes before it starts. My space, DONE! Friends' spaces, DONE! (and Michelle had promises of free candy, excellent strategy!) Pretty much all setup. But, LAST MINUTE CRISIS, someone's computer wouldnt turn on! PSSSSSSSH, WE didnt move anything from that side, so it wasnt OUR problem. If people would listen to the notice CAREFULLY, it says "Make sure your area is READY by 4:30pm" ... and not "BE HERE AT 4:30pm" HUUUUGE difference *shakes head*.

Anyway! 6pm! Industry night, START! ... but ... where is everyone? (.______." Hehehehe, yeah, our one started at prolly 15 minutes past because we're on floor 12, and theres two floors to go to and the other one was level 9. People from the industry were slowly making their way up to level 12 and stopped in the first room where my other friends are. (BTW, got 'Best DipScreen student 2005' award, CONGRATS CHRIS! ) Luckly i was in that room, just ... watching them and seeing if any of them were making their way to my room. (=________________=;; Believe it or not, but around people i dont quite know, but know they're from companies i get REALLY REALLY nervous. But it didnt turn out so bad. Lots of people commented on my work i did in my sketch pads (i tried to steer them away from my monitor..XD) that was great! and i very much appreciated them. (^^" I got given really good advice, and people were taking my business cards and i was like ... (x____x;; "Im not doing a dodgy job after all!" The whole night ran pretty smoothly, and everyone was having an okay time! I SHALL RANT ABOUT SOMETHING LATER ON.

PLAYING MY NEW VIDEO GAME (>o and i sooo finished it in like, 48 hours and i sooooo probably missed
out on sooo many things.... like at the beginning of the game, some

Aaanyway (o o", as far as storylines go ... I like this one better then
Star Ocean 3 (^^b because its sooo confusing..XD. Not only that, bu so

powerful amulet equiped on you and now you're a bad guy?! well SCREEEW
you.. (>o play the scene all over again ... XD

(o o" But i still love Star Ocean, because i enjoy the fighting part of the
game, that, and i can poke a monster and they're dead ... (^^ unlike
Tales of Symphonia ... <__<" Good gawd, sooo many life threatening
moments (x___x" ....oh yeah, that, and the Star Ocean 3 CPU controlled
characters have BRAINS...XD because in Tales, the healer (her name is Raine
btw,) Wow, everyone is dying and she uses First Aid (x___x even though
she has a Mass Healing Spell ... (@~~@"

Neway, *SIIIGH*, Lloyd (main character) sounds awfully familiar, and i should
find out why ...cause its bugging me..XD

YOu know what, my computer crashed (ie. corrupted startup files ... */omg* ) ... and i lost all my drawing files ... xD

In other news ... although Ragnarok the Animation to most people is a really really really dodgy anime .... i dont mind it ... xD

And you know what... (.____o ... some of the people in the anime look just like people i know who play RO ... >3
