Hi folks!

I know you've all been wondering how the Colonel Wigglesworth and His Stupendous Steam Brigade animation went. Well, I've been immensely busy almost every single day. I rarely have time for all other things. So was the issue with Nightbanes.

But after installing an old and popular game, and watching the cut scenes I had this 'of course!' moment. My friend Eigen, who is my partner in this endeavor has been very supportive and basically made the story behind this animation.

It won't be your 'standard' fluid animation. But we want to retain the overall feel of this. So in a nutshell, we're at the stage of finalizing the storyline. And a storyboard is on the way. So hang tight.

That's right, I'll be looking into the realm of education a year later from now. Somehow, I get the feeling that I will find fulfillment in the field. So I'm investing my one year for studying.

Meanwhile, I've got so many work on the belt, it's actually getting more and more difficult to maintain work. So, along came who's going to delve into the glorious world of web design under my tutelage for about a week! I'm going to show her around web weaving with the almighty pen tablet and the trusty photoshop... (or any other worthy alternatives). So when the time comes, I'll hire her so I could introduce her to freelancing before she decides to make it on her own.

But for now, I'm going to sleep.

From fantasy and comic art to websites and logos? What's going on here?

For the past months, I've decided to take on practical experience in my craft after graduating. Oddly enough, I graduated Bachelor in Accounting Technology-- a four-year degree course. Not quite my line of expertise I should say.

On a more related side of my story, I've been made editor-in-chief of our university yearbook for the second time (because of experience) and it was just recently that I pushed my layout skills further.

Also, I learned PHP and flash with actionscripting. Pretty productive year, I should say. Recently I got hired on a regular but work-at-home type employment for a company in the U.S.. I work as a graphics and web designer and developer.

Also, I finally found the love of my life. We've been together for 7 months now. We'll be working for each other and we're building our future (financial) as I speak/type.

Ooh, and by the way, I won a 30 GB video iPod from cnn asia. I won it by joining their online contest under the Future Summit theme.

Well, that's about the meat of the goings-on in my life. I hope to go some levels higher.

I wasn't really absent the whole time. I just didn't login. I didn't have the time to make new deviations lately. A lot has happened ever since the last time I logged in DA.

I noticed, firstly, that DA's UI has changed. It's layout has gotten "cuter". But functionality isn't as comprehensive as the previous one. But it has more "life" than the last time.

My webcomics are put on hold... again. I have found a different path with regards to my digital life. I'm a web designer/developer now. I'm able to handle some web scripting through (x)html/css, javascript and php websites and flash. I don't have samples of my works available yet.

But that doesn't mean the Nighbanes project will be stopped. In fact, I'm excited to bring it to a level higher! I plan to bring nightbanes into flash animation. I have some ideas running about my head. But I suppose it can wait.

Thanks all of you deviants who have watch me all through these years. I know you're expecting me to post more issues of Nightbanes and other 2d graphics. But I'm busy with my home-based job as a graphic/web designer. I barely have the time to post a journal around. But hey, I won't dissapoint you people, there will be more of my new digital artworks and web layouts coming your way.

See you all soon.

I have decided to allow the Nightbanes: Darkdreamer webcomic to reach ten pages, since it is really hard to keep it all under seven. The webcomic will have been finished by early February 2006 and will be posted here on DA and on my website ([link]).

The original Nightbanes series' (one concocted by my dear friend, whose characters include Thuras Icecloud, Peter Brown and more) rights has been expressly handed over to me so, if things go well we'll be having another Nightbane series (this time it's for all audiences, 12 years old +). Stories have been laid out years ago so it wouldn't be much of a problem. I plan to converge the two series for special issues of Nightbanes: Darkdreamer series.

I came across some cool webdesigns and been staring at them for hours and voila! A sudden rush of ideas came into my head and I couldn't sleep until I wrote them all down and the possible codes and scripts associated with them. I did a lot of research into scripts and have been pleased with the results so far. I have made 2 web layouts already and all can accommodate any screen resolution... well, at least 2 (800 x 600 and 1024 x 768).

I have been very busy with those ideas still brewing in my head and I couldn't sleep! Ahhh!
I, ugh,... almost lost consciousness after getting down from the dentist's office while I was waiting on a bench. I was staring at my extracted molar and suddenly I felt light-headed and some tingling at the fingertips. Suddenly everyone, and I mean everyone noticed something wrong with me. I was almost deathly pale. And everyone was asking what happened to me. Sheesh.
Well, the dentist came down and gave me a waft of "spirit of ammonia" and I was then sweating profusely. Everything went back to normal eventually, but I certainly gained far more attention than I wanted that Monday.

There was one time when I was chatting online (YM), some college girl from the u.s. was asking for help on how to humiliate some college boy who allegedly was a voyeur.

The man, whom they used to consider as a friend, turned out to have videotaped these happless college girls in secret and caught them in changing rooms, toilets and girls' locker rooms, etc. He then burns these videos into cd's and sells them to the boys of that same college. You can just imagine the shame of these girls.

Now, the time came when the day of payment for the next term arrived and that voyeur ran out of money and all his friends went out for vacation leaving him alone. Desperate, this man went to his victims and asked for help. He told them that he'd do anything just to have the money to pay for his eductaion for the next term. Now, clearly the girls came with the idea of getting even with him and decided to humiliate him in the most imaginable way in exchange of granting his request. So, they went to YM to ask somebody for help.

In the meantime, I was having a ball at the chatroom I was into and everybody were getting nuts and we talked about silly stuff, when suddenly, this girl from that college introduced herself and their situation. I was screwing around that time and didn't expect things to get serious.

But it did. And boy, my darker side came out that day. All these horrible, humiliating stuff I recommended bothered my conscience in the end. But thinking about what this man did to his schoolmates just kept me going on suggesting humiliating pranks.

The girls of that school had a good time. The voyeur cried inextreme humiliation. But I admitted this man had the determination just to continue his studies. But I suppose justice has been served for the ladies in that school.

I won't dare get into the details of what things they made the poor man do and what they did to him. Sure enough, it will certainly make that guy think twice about videotaping some girl in the changing room.

Phew! I thought I was going to lose my account. It turns out that when you get 1,000 pageviews, you gain new extra DA features but only for a while .

Now, I'm still not able to update my deviations since a lot of them are still being edited. A few include anime characters and some experimental drawing techniques .

Meanwhile, I'm also doing two commissions: sublimesoap's sketch is being colored as I speak (well, type). And it's around 40% completed. Another commission that I'm doing is for a UK-based gaming company called "Med-Evil". I'm submitting concept art for them to render into 3d. So far, I've completed one and there are a lot more to go in my list.

I've been very busy at school lately because we have many celebrations this semester . I'm the head of our decorations committee (Oh shoot! I'm supposed to pass my liquidation reports by now!!! ) Dhope!

On the lighter side, I'm trying to learn 3d rendering and I've downloaded some shareware and freeware so that I could get ideas on how they work. I'm aiming to push my self a bit further if I want to make a good impression for my job applications in the near future. But for now, I have to set those aside because I have to make do with my academics. Prelims are looming ever nearer.

Well, this is just it for now. I'm just glad I won't have to worry about my submitted deviations in the past.

I got this forwarded message from a e-community hosting service:

Dear Tech Support:

Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife
1.0. I soon noticed that the new program began
unexpected child processing that took up a lot of
space and valuable resources.

In addition, Wife 1.0 installed itself into all
other programs and now monitors all other system
activity. Applications
such as Poker Night 10.3, Football 5.0, Hunting and
Fishing 7.5, and Racing
3.6 no longer run, crashing the system whenever
selected. I can't seem
to keep Wife 1.0 in the background while
attempting to
run my favorite
applications.

I'm thinking about going back to Girlfriend 7.0, but
uninstall doesn't work on Wife 1.0.

Please help! Thanks,

A Troubled User.

REPLY:

Dear Troubled User:

This is a very common problem that men complain
about. Many people upgrade from Girlfriend 7.0 to
Wife
1.0,
thinking that it is just a Utilities and
Entertainment program. Wife 1.0 is an OPERATING
SYSTEM and is designed by its Creator to run
EVERYTHING!!! It is also
impossible to delete Wife 1.0 and to return to
Girlfriend 7.0.

It is impossible to uninstall, or purge the program
files from the system once installed. You cannot go
back to Girlfriend 7.0
because Wife 1.0 is designed not to allow this. Look
in your Wife 1.0
manual under Warnings-Alimony/Child Support.

I recommend that you keep Wife1.0 and work on
improving the situation. I suggest installing the
background application
"Yes
Dear" to alleviate software augmentation. The best
course of action is
to enter the command C: \ APOLOGIZE. Because
ultimately you will have to
give the APOLOGIZE command before the system will
return to normal anyway.

Wife 1.0 is a great! program, but it tends to be
very high maintenance. Wife1.0 comes with several
support programs, such as
Clean and Sweep 3.0, Cook It 1.5 and Do Bills 4.2.
However, be very
careful how you use these programs. Improper use will
cause the system to
launch the program Nag Nag 9.5. Once this
happens, the
only way to improve
the
performance of Wife 1.0 is to purchase additional
software. I recommend
Flowers 2.1and Diamonds 5.0!

WARNING!!! DO NOT, under any circumstances, install
Secretary With Short Skirt 3.3. This application is
not supported by Wife
1.0 and will cause irreversible damage to the
operating system.

Best of luck,

Speaking of which, I'm having trouble with the style of designing the sylph. I've had two options so far and I want to make this different from the other elementals. Because each elemental character is made differently from each other: The Fire Spirit has a "glowing" effect, the Water Nymph has the distorted water surface-lighting on her skin, and the Earth Spirit has the leaf tattooes on her sides. I wonder how I'll work on the Wind Sylph?

Anyway, to keep things going, I managed to finish working on a commission from a fellow blogger, whose name is Ecks. She's in Japan and she wanted me to make her anime portrait. She game me pictures of her anime doll and her photo.

Now, I'm definitely starting to work on my Wind Sylph. After that, maybe I'll just let inspiration lead me on.
