Ok, time for another contest. Ok, extended 3 days just so It's a Saturday. Actually...there's only two entries. Those of you who entered (and you know who you are), want more people to enter, or shall I judge this Saturday?

This time it's "If Rebooted They Were To Be..." And two prizes of 3 months available. This time, it's quite simple. Take any of my characters from any of my pictures or stories, here or on my fictionpress account ( [link] ), and re-design him/her. As long as there's some resemblance to the original character, I'm quite lenient. However...you also have to have an explanation in your comments, about who the character is, the new backstory, and why you did the changes to appearence/character/clothing that you did.

Oh, I don't have the formal rule list, but....DEADLINE IS OCTOBER 17th, and also...RULE 7 STILL APPLIES! (nothing perverted or maccabre if character is one of the ones based on actual children)

Depends where I am, there's at least two places I call home, in Nu'u Sara it's the Sina Boardwalk, the beach in front of it, the park behind it. In Montreal, it's up on the mountain

A t-shirt, and a laari or sarong (or "guy's skirt", if you wanna call it that). That's all I ever need, I'm covered in fur.

A bed! Duhhh!

Right now it's "F*** The World" by the Fury Swipes, and "Absolut Vertigo" by Derailed Pig (my brother's in that band!)

I'm Ya'a Naomi (which means I have fur, and a raccoon-like face, and ringed tail), because of my Dad, but I'm also Ai'a'ive (which means I have the feathery wings on my back) because of my Mom. Yeah, I'm a mutt. Don't tell me to sit, or play dead.

Two things...my birthday is on the 26th of April, and...the deadline for this contest is still the 22nd of May! And cool, we now have three entries. Keep them coming!

Ok, I decided to run another contest. This theme? "Enagis"

Now, of course, you'll need some background info. (contest details are further along)

The Enega (group of Enagis) was an ancient order of "sorceresses" or "warrior-priestesses" in the service of the Goddess Ene who protected Pavonia (their homeworld) from evil. Despite their service, by the 1960's (our time) they were supressed by the "Glissa Deios", a religious organization that had become a defacto parallel government. Enagi were religated to legends, and to further insult them, a certain kind of "flower-hemmed" dress was encouraged as the clothing of choice for zonai (prostitutes). Then, in 2025, things changed. The spirit of the last Enagi, Dorotea, chose her living grand-daughter to become...a new Enagi. The secrets of the Enagi were kept by her family, the Pikaku. But due to an invasion from a gang/cartel from Earth, something had to be done...helped by a group of heroes from Earth, Katherine Ene Pikaku became...the first new Enagi. Using powers she can "transform" into more powerful Enagi forms. Then, in the fall of that year, while Earth was in turmoil, but Pavonia mostly unnafected...her younger sister Genifa became the Second Enagi, Enagi-Khiole ("Enagi of the Melody")

What does an Enagi look like? [link] is a pic of two of them, in Enagi clothing, and using their staves, albeit in an unconventional manner! And while in [link] Katherine is NOT in her Enagi form...she's holding an Enagi staff. A typical Enagi staff has a shaft of either wood or metal, at least one tza crystal at the end, which contains magical essence, and sometimes even the spirit of someone who's passed on (there can also be other crystals elsewhere on the staff), and other features. Most Enagi staffs have "jangling rings", think of the Shakujo staff used by some Buddhist monks (or for that matter, by the monk in "Ronin Warriors"/"Yoroiden Samurai Troopers") Genifa's staff, however, does not have rings....but it has a built in flute and has parts that open to reveal harp-strings. Some of the old Enagi didn't use staves, preferring instead to use magical swords or other weapons.

Another Enagi picture for you...[link] This is of Kaindiss, who was a Velexi, the Velexiu were the "recruits" in the old order. Kaindiss, unfortunately, flipped out, went ballistic, killed enough that the special mission and training was canceled, and was put into suspended animation.

The Velexiu wore simple brown or dark red dresses. Those who are Enagi normally wear dresses and skirts, the higher the rank, the more elaborate/more layers. Those in higher ranks may also have colored hair highlights. The "Old" Enega were all trained as Velexiu first. The two "new" ones didn't go through this route, as it no longer exists, but they are able to "morph" into stronger forms, which the old-order generally didn't do. Some of the Enagi, and for that matter Enagi forms of the new ones, were different. The "Enagi-Ikwa" form of Katherine, she is naked but covered in fish-scales, and can breath underwater. Her "Enagi-Kadillera" form has her in furs and trousers and boots. In this form...well, let's just say she can walk on walls and ceilings like Spider-Man. Enagis normally had a symbol on their forehead, either the general Symbol of Ene (the diamond with a lightning bolt at each corner, or sort of looks like part of an electrical diagram)

As you may have surmised, there were general Enagi, but those with "themed" forms and powers.

The Pavonian race resemble humans, but with the head-feathers ("Korona") and tail-feathers ("Kula") of a peacock. They can also see through the tail-eyes ("Ocelli") and even channel magic, mana, or chi ("Sarandra") through them, which is something that Enagi learn to master. Pavoonians can also make their ocelli (but not head-eyes) light up in different colors.

Now we go to the other end....because A (Winter or winter holidays) is the only category with more than two entries, and D has only one, I'm "transferring" the second place D to become a second second place A. So....the runners up?

Well, I'm running a new contest, and you have...THE REST OF THE YEAR (actually, a bit more)! Because I'm feeling generous, there will be four categories. And for each category, there's subscription prizes for the best and second best. UPDATE (FEBRUARY 15, 2009) EXTENDED: THE MIDDLE OF FEBRUARY is the new DEADLINE! I want more entries!

Category A: Winter Holidays (with apologies to the Aussies and Kiwis I know)....basically, this pic has to include one of my characters (or someone of one of my races) and have to do with either winter, or any of the winter solstice period holidays (e.g. Christmas, Channukah, Yule....and anything else you can think of)

Category B: Night. Because Winter Solstice is the longest night (and for my friend in Alaska, you know who you are, I know it will be pretty long!) So, for this category, something with either one of my characters (or someone of one of my races) and it must be night related...whether it's someone walking out at night, or in a nightclub, or maybe just sitting on a balcony, stargazing, in nightclothes or something like that. Or if you're feeling in the Halloween spirit, well, 'twas a dark and stormy night? There's so many ways to go with this theme, just...it somehow has to be connected to night, and use one of my characters.

Category C: Way of the Melody. CALLING ALL ILLUSTRATORS. The only one of my stories I have in dA is Way of the Melody. For anyone who wants to read it and feels inspired, well...illustrate a character or scene from that story. If you need any background information, please ask!

Category D: Nu'u Sara is Railly Cool...please see the last contest. Actually, it's about the rail network of Nu'u Sara. IF you want, I could send you an email about "The Rails of Sara", but a few of my pix are related to it. Including the "South Park Station" pic, and the rail diagrams. There were no winners, because nobody entered. So....any railly creative railfans here? You're highballed until December 31st, along with all other categories, so ALL ABOARD!

UPDATE: Someone actually entered D. So the link is here. Every category has at least one entry as of the 18th of November. Hope it encourages more entries! I want as many entries as possible.

Firstly, just to remind everyone...IT IS OPEN TO EVERYONE, the last contest wasn't restricted to girls, it referred to characters, not the people who drew them. Ok, just making sure everyone knows, the "Guy's Thing" doesn't mean only guys can enter.

There are three categories. Two of them are "It's a Guy's Thing", and the third is "Nu'u Sara's Railly Cool! 3 categories...each with prizes.

a)My male characters. Draw one of my male characters. Any of my characters will do, but there are special restrictions for "Dave", the Ai'a'ive boy from [link] , see below!

b)Boy/Man of a race. A male of any race used in my stories and pictures, other than human. Those who are afatasi (mixed race), provided one of the "parent" races is one of my races, is also ok (also note that one who is actually half Ai'a'ive and half human appears Ai'a'ive, replace "Ai'a'ive" with "Nuanua" for the half-Nuanua situation)

c)Nu'u Sara's Railly Cool! Ok, I have all the railfans in mind for this. Ok, draw a scene from the rail network of Nu'u Sara. Anything...pix of trains, stations, and you can get very creative with this. If you want any help, there's my track diagrams. This time, there's gonna be a total of two prizes PER CATEGORY...a 3 month subscription, and a one month subscription (for the runner up).

Now, the rules.....
1) You are allowed to draw other characters, of either gender, in your pictures, and they can be other characters of mine, or your characters, or even someone else's. But at least one character must fit one of the threww categories. (note, doesn't really apply for the Railly cool contest. Note, however, if you want to draw a Siata, they're all female and Nuanua.)
2) You're allowed to enter two or even all three categories, if you so wish
3)THE DEADLINE....End of August. I have the right to extend the deadline if I so wish, and I so wished, TWICE, due to lack of entries, so there you go!
4)For original "made up" characters for category b, as long as it's a male of the race....I won't criticize much on the clothing style or name (if you want to do an Ai'a'ive dressed like a gangsta-rapa and named Bubba, I won't stop you.)
5)Respect dA rules...there aren't that many, but please, I want the pictures to stay, don't you? Also, if using someone's pic for too much reference...please ask the person first, aight?
6)SPECIAL MUGURI RULE...Is there a distinction between my "muguri" and generic "moogles"? Yes. The stalk (on which the ball is) is wider, it isn't just "hair-width".
7)SPECIAL "DAVE" RULE....Because Dave is based on an actual boy, whose mother kindly lets us use the stock photos of him, his mother's rule applies to anything with Dave...NOTHING PERVERTED OR MACABRE! RESPECT, people, RESPECT!
8) I'd be happy to help. You want another one of my male characters? I'll give details. Want info? Just ask. Also, you want authenticity, want to know how a a certain race of mine dresses or something like that? Ask. And as I said, I can send you "The Rails of the Village of Sara" by email if you request.
9)FOR REFERENCE...the name of some of my races.....Ya'a Naomi, Ai'a'ive, Nuanua, Ghorkha, Faerian, Pororo, Pavonian, Muguri (Moogle). Did you read my stories and find another race you'd like to do a male of? Go ahead.
10) I have the right, but not the obligation, to add a "category d" with additional prizes if I so chose

Hey. Some of you would like dA subscirptions. Well, I'll give you a chance to win 3 months.

The theme of this contest is "for the ladies"...no, you don't have to be female to enter it. There are two categories, with their seperate prizes (and yes, you can enter both, if you want)...

a)My female characters. Draw one of my female characters. Any of my characters will do, but there are special restrictions for Anna Vuya, see below!

b)Girl of a race. A female of any race used in my stories and pictures, other than human. Those who are afatasi (mixed race), provided one of the "parent" races is one of my races, is also ok (also note that one who is actually half Ai'a'ive and half human appears Ai'a'ive, replace "Ai'a'ive" with "Nuanua" for the half-Nuanua situation)

Hey. Just thought I'd let you all know...I'm turning 29. Excited about things coming up as well...as as going to the UK and France.
