12/1/09 Edit: Flamehead... part of your request is done and posted.... ---> [link]

So Flamehead23a is offering ten free limericks while the original free thing was sketches, and I wanted something from him. But I cannot do either... so I'm offering ten free slots for a page or a few of the written word in story format... however, I may not dabble in your (insert movie, TV show, book, etc. here) fandom, but I will do my best! I'll even work with original characters.

No guarantees on the time... I'm a busy woman! But it will be about a week.

The original rules:
The first 10 people who comment on this journal will get a sketch (few pages of story) free. However, in return, you must offer 10 free sketches (or whatever you do best) in your own journal. If you've already done 10 free sketches, simply link the journal entry in your comment. You still qualify. (NOT all 10 slots have to be filled, you just have to offer them.)

01 - I will NOT draw (write) your request until I see this in your journal.
02 - In your comment, you must give me a description of the character, situation, or subject you want your sketch (story) to be about.
03 - Only one per person - Remember, this is FREE.

The List
Number-Name-Stage of Request
1) - Approximately 1/4 to 1/3 done... (9/16)
2)
3)
4)
5)
6)
7)
8)
9)
10)

~*~ Rad

1. What color is your bra?
White sports bras. One gray one. I have two tan regular bras that I don’t wear often.

2. Do you ever lie about your age?
No. I have missaid my age a couple of times. Usually a year up or down.

3. Do you prefer "sensitive boys" or "tough guys"?
Well, my fiancé (wedding in one month!) is tough in that he’s taken karate and will protect me and give his life for me. He’s also an EMT, training to be a paramedic. You’ve gotta be resilient to work that. But he’s also sweet and sensitive in his own way. I love ‘em. ^_^

4. Do you prefer blond or brunette guys?
He’s a brunette, but it depends on the guy, the look, and the personality. Legolas seems to be doing fine. XD

5. Are you currently single?
*Laughs* See #3.

6. How many things in your past do you regret?
Oh, I had a bad elementary school experience but that wasn’t my fault, so nothing really.

7. Do you have a best friend?
Two, kinda three. My fiancé, old roommate, and the mother of the great children I babysit one day a week.

8. What do you want to be when you grow up?
An editor of fiction novels (though I’d settle for short stories or novellas, too).

9. Have you ever kissed two people in one night?
Does pecking my parents on the check goodnight before bed count?

Oh, you mean THAT kissing? NO.

10. Where do you shop to buy most of your clothes?
Goodwill. I only buy them brand new if they’re inexpensive OR I need them for something (*Cough wedding cough*)

11. Who was the last person you hugged?
Stephanie. I’d just talked about the fantasticness of my day and happenings in life and just plain had a great conversation with her.

12. Have you ever had your heart broken?
Oh, sorta, I guess. There was never much to begin with, so more like a couple of nicks and dings.

13. Have you ever thought about suicide?
No.

14. Have you ever wanted someone but you knew you couldn't have them?
Once.

15. Have you ever felt like killing somebody?
Not literally. But you know how some people just push your buttons and tick you off? Figuratively, a couple of people.

16. If you could change anything about your past, what would you change?
Well, considering it makes me who I am today, not much. Prolly nothing.

17. Do you like your life?
I like it now much better than I did, oh, a couple of months ago. Jobless and planning a wedding and a new life VS. having a job, loving my new job, doing fantastically well at my new job (I’ve only been there five days and there’s already talk that I’m full-time material), one month to my wedding, having everything planned for the wedding.

18. Do you shop at Hollister?
No. No thank you to their ads and the smell in the air. Or is that Ambercrombie and Fitch?

19. Has one of your friends ever stolen a boyfriend from you?
No. Though a roommate of a couple of months once dated my fiancé. Heh. It worked out well though.

20. Did you forgive them?
N/A

21. Who was your first best friend?
The neighbor girl. Ah, to be young again.

22. Have you ever skipped school?
Only for being sick, the doctor’s, or some other legitimate exusal. No, not even on senior skip day.

23. Has anyone ever cheated on you?
No.

24. Have you ever slapped a boy in the face?
No

25. If so, why?
N/A

26. What are some of your biggest fears of your life?
Failure. Failure at life. Not paying off debt. Getting pregnant within the next couple of years (we want to wait). Not having enough money to live semi-comfortably. Having kids that turn out… not so very good.

27. Has anyone close to you ever passed away?
My aunt and grandmother would be the closest, but they weren’t that close….

28. Have you ever cried yourself to sleep?
Yes. During elementary school.

29. Have you ever not been able to get someone out of your head?
Characters, original and non. The one boy that I wanted but couldn’t have… Oh goodness, I had never been obsessed with a boy before him. (It wasn’t “bad” but I was struggling to focus.)

30. Do you believe in the saying "once a cheater, always a cheater"?
I don’t know. It depends on the person and the situation and how she handles it.

31. Are you a player?
No. Though I suppose friendliness can be seen as flirting.

32. What kind of cell phone do you have?
Why is this a girl question… oh wait. Never mind. Uh… I have a Nextel phone…? I80 maybe…? I dunno, I’m too tired to look. Ya don’ really care anyway.

33.
A couple of people that I watch are doing this one...

1. What does your deviantart name mean and why did you join this site?

They're my initials and the year that I was born. Only in freshman year of high school (2001) did I catch on that my initials actually made a cool word. So that became part of my AIM screenname. When I joined here "Rad" was taken, so I added on the date.

I joined the site to post my MLP and Escaflowne fanfiction. And to watch other people.

2. What fandom were you obsessed with when you joined and what are you into now?

My Little Pony and Escaflowne. Still into Escaflowne, though not much happens with it. Not so much MLP because I've kinda lost interest in collecting them... and I don't have any money. I just graduated from college after four years of not having money, currently I'm jobless, and I'm getting married in four months and my fiance isn't rich. So, I kinda stopped collecting. I still love the little things; I'll keep my original collection for my own daughters. Or sons. I am also into TMNT, Inuyasha, X-Men (Evolution), Avatar, and anything COLORFUL or funny that catches my eye.

3. How many watchers do you have now?

Uh, watchers...? Eleven! I have eleven!

4. Name 3 of your favorite artists on DA.

Marbletoast, Rose (berryberryrose/morrichan), and... Oh, just go look at my favorite artist list! That's why it's there!

5. Do you comment, fave, or both?

I comment if I have something to say that's relatively different that what several (million) other people have said. If the piece is older and many (million) people have already commented, I fave and run. I do fave if I like the piece or want to come back to it (ie: reading material) in the future.

6. Do you participate in clubs' contests here on DA?

Kinda... no. I did once or twice in the Escaflowne club I'm in. I will in the future (if it is a writing challenge).

7. What is your most popular deviation?

Done: Jester's Rehairing.

8. What are your favorite non-anime TV shows?

LOST, TMNT, NT:NM, Castle, Fraiser, Charmed.

9. What are the things you wish you could draw better?

Everything.

10. Summer or winter?

Summer.

11. Rain or Sun?

Sun.

12. What's your favorite type of music?

It depends on my mood and whether I'm listening to the radio or my own music. I like Christian, some pop, some dance, and some rock. I LOVE the Escaflowne and Shrek soundtracks.

13. PC or Mac?

PC. Though I have never used a MAC. I think the TV commercials for them being represented as men is FUNNY as all get out.

14. Anime or manga?

Anime! Though my one experience with manga would be the English Escaflowne. That... no thank you. I have read one other manga... it was ok. I'm not a big fan of "comics" and... manga is basically a long comic to me. I'd rather do lots of reading and have less pictures.

15. Coke or Pepsi?

Coke, because their Cherry and Vanilla taste better than Pepsi, IMHO. Though both are fine with me. School had Pepsi.

16. Read or TV?

Read, now that I have free time!

17. How many hours a day do you spend on DA?

Depends on how many deviations are there for me to view and hopefully comment or read. Anywhere from five minutes to three hours if I randomly decide to shift though searches and new artists' galleries and favorites.

18. Name a hidden talent.

I can frenchbraid my own hair.

19. Flash or traditional cartoons?

Probably traditional. What TV shows are in flash? I'm not sure I'd know what I was looking at...

20. What is your favorite fast food restaurant?

Burger King. McDonald's is a very close second. They both have their pros and cons.

21. What are your top 3 favorite books?

"I could no sooner pick a favorite star in the heavens," to quote Danielle from Ever After. I couldn't pick three favorite books, actually, because I enjoy reading series. There's a list on my profile page. Go there and look.

22. Wii or Playstation?

N64. I'm old school. Wii to a Playstation though.

23. Name 3 of your favorite bands.

Rich Mullins and a Ragamuffin Band. Um... let's go with two more artists: Jesse McCartney and Clay Aiken.

24. Are you a fast, slow, or medium typer?

Usually fast-ish. Depends on if I'm...

I'm starting to get sick because I'm not sleeping as much as I should be because I'm trying to get homework done. I can't afford to get sick. Subs at work are 95% non-existent. I need the money. I need my health. Maybe I am working too many hours... 35+ is too much... But I can't afford not to, I need the money. I have too much homework. I don't understand 20th Century British Authors. I don't like Expository Writing, I want to write fiction! I'm not a huge fan of Senior Sem... 20 page paper! That I have to defend! O.O And more homework. Which the homework isn't too bad. Mosaic Lit is way too much reading. I like Coaching Volleyball! ... Except for the midterm... Why can't he cover this stuff in class?? Or use normal terminology? I've never heard of "center back" it's "back middle"!

I don't have time with CJ or Jess and Sara. CJ and I want to get married at the end of next summer and Jess doesn't think we're ready. Duh... we're ready to be ready.

Also, I think someone might have gotten hold of my Meijer credit card number. But possibly not. There's a few things on the bill that I don't recall and I don't have receipts for. But, I don't keep very good track of my receipts, so possibly not. I hope not. Either way, the account is blocked. It doesn't exist any more (except for the money I owe them), so I don't have to worry about it any more.

So yeah. Life sucks. I want Thanksgiving break to be here. I wish fall break was longer. I need to patch up my pit jeans. I need to make patches for my pit jeans (I couldn't find any in Meijer). I need more time.

I might not be able to graduate next semester. I was an English major, Bible minor. That's a major in the BA and a minor in the BS. You can't do that. One has to have a full program. I didn't know that until about three weeks ago. So. I changed my minor to Religion. (Side note: Bible is BS but Religion is BA? Go figure...) So I have like one or two classes in the Religion minor. And one that I wanted to take next semester is part of that. But there are four classes at CU next semester for my new Religion minor. I need six. So I'm trying Grand Valley. Hopefully I'll get in. Now, new problem: Chapel. My GV classes would start at 10. It's a half an hour drive to GV. So I'd miss half of chapel (which starts at 9). And on Tuesday New Testament History and Theology starts at 8:30 and gets done at 9:45 in the morning? What?! I thought they couldn't do that!

And I lost the earrings to the set that Jess got me for my birthday. They're brand new! And I take very good care of my jewelry! *Angry*

So yeah. Life sucks right now.

~*~ Rad

So, today is Wednesday. The third day of classes. How is it going?

Well, Wednesday was better than Tuesday, which in turn was better than Monday.

I didn't get much of a vacation between the ending of work and the beginning of school. Which is part of my FRAZZLED-ness problem. But this is the last time I will have to do it (at least for college... if grad school is in my future, well, who knows!).

Monday was terrible. I was training a fantastic young man in the dishroom in the morning for the breakfast shift and he had no clue what was going on. So I'm teaching him everything. And everyone and their roommate decided to come to breakfast! O.O Breakfast is usually a pretty easy shift. Not on Monday! It wouldn't have been so bad, except that I had class at 8 and the shift is over at 9. So I left at 7:50. I felt terrible because there were a lot of people there and he needed help. Thankfully I told my bosses and they kept an eye on him and helped him. However, he left some things that could have been taken care of; thus backing up the lunch people. Who were short staffed by three to four people! O.O Meaning they left some things for me at dinner. And I was short someone at dinner. But dinner wasn't too bad. The two newbies learned well (one was supposed to have dropped the shift but came in and helped anyway) and a couple of other people came in and helped. One of the newbies was already half-trained and she worked marvelously well! I was able to leave her doing things by herself while I did other things. And I had company for lunch. I enjoy company! Yay community! (CU students are sick of hearing that, I'm sure. ) I am also training the MWF dishroom cleaner and he's a good friend of mine. He did a swell job!!!

Tuesday was much better. I have a normal shift in the morning and it went FANTASTIC! I even had company at breakfast (I enjoy company at breakfast, but most of my friends don't get up that early). My lunch shift went pretty darn well too; despite the fact that my boss didn't have anyone scheduled to come help me before Food Service opened. My boss talked with me and we're not going to fill that shift because I can handle stuff and when my other workers come in they can help and we still won't be backed up. Then the T/Th dish room cleaner person didn't show up... But one of my normal workers volunteered to help (he knew stuff, it rocked). My Tuesday 2:30-5 got out early so I helped clean the dishroom (still no cleaner). I didn't make it to an appointment on time... but they are great people and it worked out. CJ and I hung out for a little bit on Tuesday and he stretched my tastebuds a little. I wish we could have had more time, but I needed sleep because I am still training the morning dishroom person.

Wednesday (today!) was even better still. The morning person is remembering stuff I taught him. He still got backed up and needed help, but he's coming. And hopefully this first week is a fluke: NEVER have so many students come to breakfast (except for exam week). Never. So hopefully soon the students will thin out a bit and it will be easier on him. Again I had company at lunch. I again trained the MWF cleaner and I had to leave and come back (another appointment) and he did an AMAZING job! One little thing I need to mention to him, but it was something I should have told him. The dinner shift was STUPENDOUS! The marvelous newbie from Monday was back. And I had a full crew! And all but the newbie were experienced! I taught her something else and she took to that like a fish in water. She is an incredible worker; just the kind that we want to be in my position (dish lead). I asked her (and my boss) and I'm training her this semester! YAY we have someone to dish lead during her college career and spread the dishroom gospel!! XD XD (She's a sophomore, so she'd be around for a while! ^_^)

All of my classes have gone well enough for the first week; meaning I'm not happy with my place in them but it's also the first week and I know I will get into the grove and climb to a better place.

Which brings me to now.

And I have something that I want opinions on.

***In one of my classes many of the students did not have the book yet and therefore had not read the assignment (this is normal. However professes don't seem to understand this and still give us homework. You tell me why they still do this??). I made the statement that my book was in the mail and I was getting it. The prof said "this isn't my problem. I don't care. It's not the school's problem. The school is not responsible." And ma...

And Marlbles, Rylie, and... colormist...? did it too.

--FIELDS OF INTEREST--

Reading real books and fanfiction that interest me. Rayne. Older Rin/Sesshie. V/H. AU D/H. Well-written AU. Artwork that is good (by other people. I suck and I know it and I"m ok with that). Marbletoast. XD My Little Ponies... the ones that I really want/like. Hasbro's stupidity. Escaflowne. Writting fanfiction and the random things that I like to call poetry. Adeyla, my laptop (who is nicer that Ned *Sticks tongue out at Marbles*). Crafts: beads, beadie buddies, jewelry, macreme, plastic lace, random odd other stuff that is categorized as "crafts." Leaving nice, long reviews. /Then/ asking the author to update. Parodies that are clean. Music. Clean music. Clay Aiken's voice. The Pit (Of DOOM!).

--FAVOURITES--

Friends, CJ, Jess. Pizza. Doughnuts with sprinkles. White cake. White chocolate/cake batter icecream. Reese's candies. Butterfingers.

--THINGS NOT SO FAVOURED, IN FACT DESPISED--

Plain chocolate, more than a Hershy's kiss size. Hershy's plain chocolate (contradictriary, ne?). Onions, peppers, anything spicey or hot. Stupid people. Very stupid, idiotic people. Layered trays. Messy plates. Trays left in the Student Union when there is CLEARLY a rack IN FRONT OF THEIR FACE! Loud music. Bass in a car that shakes cars next to it. Dirty music. Negative people. Rude people. Idiots who do not belong on the road: no blinkers, no stopping properly, running RED LIGHTS, running pink lights, people who turn into the left lane and not the right. Low neck lines. Seeing butt cracks or underwear.

--PETS--

Does my roommate count? XD

--CONFESSIONS--

I have never cursed. I HATE the smell of coffee. I think make-up is unnecessary. I don't like "normal" music. I have a deep, dark secret that my parents knew but forgot and no one else knows about it. I don't like my credit card. I am an open book to those who know me, there are just some hidden chapters that no one has bothered to ask about because they don't know to ask a specific question. I HATE open-ended questions, if you want to know something, ask a specific question! I was 21 and a week old before I got a boyfriend. We dated for exactly seven weeks before he kissed me.

--DESTINATIONS--

The apartment I share with my roommate...? Lol. My life consists of school, work, homework, sleep, eat, repeat. Oh, throw laundry and taking my roommate shopping in there. Someday: Japan, Hawaii, Alaska.

--MODE OF TRANSPORTATION--

'93 Silver Oldsmobile Cutless Supreme. My cell phone's name is Sasha, my laptop's name is Adeyla (Adell was taken), my two bikes' names were Reddy and Pink Rock... but I've never named my car. It sucks. The dashboard is digital and shorts out or flickers far more than wanted. The front passenger side handle is broken, so I must let my roommate in each morning, afternoon, and evening. Or most days, anyway. It doesn't have a CD player, nor a back windshied wiper. Hopefully I will have a better car soon... ish...

--TOP 10 LESSONS OF INTEREST--

10. Poetry is not necessarily poetry. It just can be VERY short prose.
9. Do not EVER put trays on top of each other when one is eating out at a place with a conveyer belt for your tray and dishes.
8. Wash dishes at least once a week (unless you have plenty of pans/plates/utensiles/etc).
7. Fruit flies are not just tiny dots, they are also tiny moths.
6. Friends are the people who know the real you and still love you.
5. Friends love you even when you change who you are.
4. Be nice to the roommate. Especially if they help pay for gas.
3. Driving the speed limit, or two/three miles above, really is to your advantage: you make the lights and SAVE ON GAS. (This is dependent upon traffic, or rather a lack thereof.)
2. Men can be really dumb... but they do rock.
1. Never bite off more than you can chew, or pick up more than you can carry, or take on so much you fall down.

--THINGS MOST COMMONLY SAID THROUGHOUT THE DAY--

Watch your head, I got (your cups) or (a cup rack). Hello dA world!

Um... I have not much to say... I haven't really been in the writing mood. Well, I take that back, I was too for an hour and a half yesterday. Unfortunately I wrote almost real life fiction, not anything Esca or MLP. I lost two chapters of my Remember the Titans fanfiction that I'm working on; they were my two longest and, I felt, best; so I just don't really feel like writing. Plus I've been really busy. Yay college student worker!! XD
Anyway...
