We reserve the right not to submit everything. Basically, if we don't think it is using enough colour (basically if its like black and white) we won't accept. We also won't accept porn/nudity, gore, weapons, etc.

But pretty much everything else will be accepted.

So I'm asking if anyone would like to take over, otherwise Ill let it die. At the moment the RCC doesnt require alot of work as it is a small club, but if the right person takes over and does a bit of promotional work, it can turn into something graet. I just don't have the energy to do it.

So we have a new competition getting under way.

The theme is your fav colour. So if you like pink, take a photo/draw something of pink. But the catch is, the image you create must somehow explain why its your favourite colour. I'll leave you to interpret this.

If you have more than one fav colour, feel free to do a peice using both.

One entry per member, members offering journal features are welcome to enter.

Entries will close around July 9th (because I'm in New Zealand and the time differences are crazy, I say around.)

First place will recieve:

Their picture put in the feature position
A journal feature on the club page
A journal feature from ~touch-of-insanity
A journal Feature from ~LostInShades
A journal feature from *Neferit

To enter, just create your image, upload onto devart, and then send the link via note.

The winner will be chosen by myself and Behind-the-scenes-guy (person I refer to for an impartial view )

So some of you may remember us holding this competition. The closing date was 12th April, so we're kinda late in announcing the winner, but anyway, here it is:

So as promised, one of her submissions will be made the feature for a month. I'm also going to talk about a few of her works, which you should totally check out. [link]

Bad memories by LynnSilverfist - the use of warm orange, and then you get those popping green eyes, its delicious lol. It may be an old piece, but it has something we here definatly like.

Elven Warrior finished by LynnSilverfist- vibrant colours, intense shading, invigorating pose, and that grass looks good enough to eat!

Elven mage by LynnSilverfist - another example of her contrasting colours, which she does well. We love the bold use of the green border against the clothing.

So this is just a quick reminder to everyone about submissions. You'll pretty good at it, but I'm doing this to encourage submissions too.

We have two main categories we submit under here - Colours of the Rainbow and Celebrating Colour.

Colours of the Rainbow is as it sounds, artwork revolving around the rainbow. The art will use all 7 rainbow colours, and usually will be arranged in the rainbow order. See here for examples. [link]

Celebrating Colour is for the majority of other artwork. This is where we put all artwork that is bright in nature. See here for examples.[link] A lot of things fit in here, its a broader range.

There is a third category I have just started, where if your artwork is of a limited colour pallete, but is still a celebration of colour, it fits in here. I'll decide on a case by case basis for this folder. [link]

As always, we reserve the right to reject something if we don't think it uses enough colour. We haven't turned one away yet (well we did, but LostInShades, your piece now fits into the new 3rd category, I'll get round to submitting it after this ) And there still is no limit on how many pieces you can submit, so feel free to do a bunch.

To submit, just send a note (put submission in the subject line just so I know) Done!

So I think I can say we are getting under way!

The Rcc is a small club, but we are growing each week, and I hope we'll grow more. One way we will do that is by member submissions! Feel free to note me with all your lovely work. There is no limit on submissions for right now, so advertise your work!

So I'm doing a PIMP OUR CLUB contest lol. Its only a small one, because we new, but whatever shall be fun... Basically, if you've got friends who have colourful artwork like you, ask them to join! If they do, when they send a note, get them to mention your name as the one who introduced them to the club. You've got a month - April 11th it'll finish!

Winner will get a month long feature in the journal (icon, profile, and links to art) and will the the converted "Featured Art" Position on the front page (Good for traffic)
