About two weeks ago I got several new games for mah DS (two I bought, one mah mom got for me). I got Code Lyoko and Deep Labyrinth for about $12 (both together) and a used copy of The World Ends With You. I tell ya, I normally hate ARPGs (I STILL haven't beaten Kingdom Hearts:Chain of Memories), but I am totally obsessed with this game. I intended to play it for several weeks, leveling up and such...but ended up playing all the way to the final boss in three days. Because I played so fast I couldn't beat the bugger, so I restarted and watched the ending on youtube. But I'm obsessed to the point that I'm drawing pins on my hand in class and want some empty button pins to make some for me to wear. *laughs*
Totally recommend it for anyone looking for a good game, even if you have to pay new price -- I got mine for about 30-ish, but that was with 20% off at GameStop [10% discount for buying at the PX, 10% more having the card and buying the game used].
The other two are also cool...but it's TWEWY that I'm obsessed with.

Started college Monday...I have 5 classes, three that meet on Mon/Wed, 1 on Tue/Thu, and 1 online. I'm taking World Literature, World Religions, and Spanish on M/W, Historical Geology (and accompanying Lab) on T/T, and College Algebra online. Love most of my classes so far...the texts for Lit are awesome, I might end up keeping them. There's some great Egyptian love poems I had to read for class this week that I'll probably type up later, and a beautiful different translation of a Psalm. Teacher is a bit hard to understand sometimes - she had a 'murky' voice. The Religion teacher is also difficult to understand sometimes, and he teaches more like a 'high school' teacher...not stopping for much discussion or questions. Maybe he'll warm up a little as we go. The Spanish teacher is...interesting. But then, I've never wanted to take Spanish, so maybe I'm a littled biased against liking him much. (The $120 textbook isn't making me like the course much, either. Stupid thing is 'binder-ready', meaning it's a bunch of loose-leaf pages I won't be able to sell back later. *gag*) Again, a bit difficult to understand.
I love the Geology teacher, though. He's been teaching at this college for 28 years...he is (in his own words) "an old crusty curmudgeon whose entitled to all the opinions I want...and you'll probably hear every one of them this semester." I also like any class that lets me play with rocks during the lecture...I'm not an aural learner. *laughs*
Algebra....eeeeehhh. I don't like math, and I'm not real fond of online classes, but I didn't have space in my schedule to have it anywhere else. At least algebra is the one math that I'm good at -- geometry killed me in high school.

I've made some friends, too...of all sorts. From a dorm-liver who loves comic books and partying to a mother who loves learning languages and her kids and dogs, I'm finding out that, oddly, people seem a little bit friendlier than those in Idaho State did...or maybe the classes are a little more relaxed and people are more willing to talk, who knows.
I even think maybe a guy in one of my classes was flirting with me. >>

One bad thing, though, is that the parking situation at this school is INSANE. The campus is set up with two lines of buildings, basically, with roads and parking lots on both outside sides...the academics building, with all the of the math, english, and social studies classes is at one end of the line, and the parking lots on the other. >>
Insane. It's a ten-minute walk...in the hot sun. There's NO shade. ><

I noticed that someone put in a request for a print...of the picture I did of the Aten.
I'd love to make it available, but I'm not entirely sure how to do it, so some advice would be great. ^^

Anyways...just a brief update. ^^

But it was a good day, all in all.

We are still stuck in hotels, waiting for a house...so internest is limited and I have no scanner access whatsoever. Also, I have very few of my drawing supplies and one sketchbook, so no new pictures from me for a while yet. *sigh*
We're pretty much in a holding pattern until we get a house.

Recently I discovered that there are tons of people doing ASL or sign language videos on youtube, so I've been searching for my favorite songs and such.

I came across a video [[link] ] that is actually done quite well, although it is more SEE (Signed Exact English) than ASL (which is fine as she didn't advertise it as an ASL interpretation).

There is a damned idiot who commented on her video, insulting her. He says nothing about the sign language, just insults her personally.

Well, summer's over, school's starting.
I'm going yay on both parts because it's been getting up to 90-something weather in this house without air conditioning. ><
And yay for school because...I like school. ^^

My classes start on Monday.

Apprec. of Dance on Mon/Wed afternoons, Apprec. of Drama+Acting 1 on Tues/Thurs afternoons, Basic Sign Mon night, Stats and Philosophy Tues night, and Archery on Friday afternoon.
Sounds like fun. ^^

As funny as it sounds, once school starts I'll probably be drawing more.
Because I can sit and draw before/during/after class. Doodle on notepages, scribble in notebooks, that kind of thing.

Speaking of drawing, I've actually got one that I've been working on off and on for the past couple weeks for my friend Dom on Gaia. It's pretty impressive so far, actually.
I'm gonna scan it in soon, but it wont' be done because I'm gonna attempt to do a watercolour background for it.

Good news, though!
Through much wheeling and dealing and begging and hunting, I've scrounged up the 26 credits necessary at college to count as a sophmore. That means I get more money in loans, which means I can afford to go to school this fall semester.
Also, there's a class I won't have to take that I thought I did that I actually kinda want to take because it's Literature, but now don't have to take because of my AP test scores which give me credit for the class which gave me the one credit I needed to count as a sophmore.
Although judging by that last sentence, I should retake English anyways. Lawl. No periods innit at all.

But I hafta take math.
Ew.
Most basic math course I can find, since I only need it fer a gen. ed. and not fer mah degree/major.
Which is good news.

Then we went back to my grandparents house to eat cake. (Two layer chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting 'tween the layers. Chocolate frosting on the top and sides, layer of mini chocolate chips on the sides, broken Reeses on the top with a decorative peanut butter frosting on that, and chocolate ganache drizzled over that. 1400 calories a slice. *grins* I think that's the whole description, at least. We tossed out the case before I could type it up.)
Back home, I stayed in my room (digesting) while my sibs set up my chaser (something we have for everyone's birthday. Basically a scavenger hunt for your presents). Usually my mom does it, but she hasn't been feeling too good lately.
I got some fun stuff. ^^
I got the guinea pig beanie baby from Ty (which my mom says she rather enjoyed hiding in the fridge...our guinea pigs are a little exasperating. *laughs*) He's pink, so I named him Ichigo (my sister got the same beanie a couple months back and named hers Strawberry. I thought I'd be funny and name mine the Japanese word for strawberry.)
I got the markers (which I've been practicing with. I'd upload th' picture I coloured, but it's in a colouring book. *smiles*), and the Eeyore bedding set.
I got the Dragonology game (looks fun) and a book of the Complete Works of Edgar Allen Poe (matches th' Chakespeare one I got for Christmas), a cute Eeyore purse...and I think that's it.
Then I watched Take the Lead with my mom. ^^
Antonio Banderas tangoing...awesome sight. I almost liked the tango at the end with the three kids better, though.

Watched Stick It the other day. As a gymnastics fan and former gymnast (even if it was only a year) myself, I found it hilarious. *grins*

In other news, I am now completely ready for college! I went in today to fight for my money, and all of my classes are paid, my books are being shipped, I have my id card and my parking pass. I just have to show up for class on Monday! Yay! Unfortunately one of my classes monday is Biology. Ewww!
I hate science. That and Government are going to be my yicky classes.

A couple of other happy notes: for the New Year, my rock station did a "top 101 songs of 2006"...and Three Days Grace ended up number one. YAY!!!
I've been playing Harvest Moon Friends of Mineral Town into the wee hours of the morning. I'm in summer of the second year and have all three house upgrades, a full kitchen, 8 chickens, 2 cows, two sheep (a large number of those animals having large-sized eggs/milk/etc), lots of seeds laid away for next spring, a yarn/mayo maker, all tools up to Mystrile, my horse won its first race (93 tickets bet at 68:1), almost ready to be married to Mary...not bad for a basically first time playing, ne? (First first time was to experiment, learn the controls. *grins*)

Anyways. Yah.

3. I'm learning Sign Language, want to learn Gaelic, Japanese, and Latin (at the least). Basically, the only languages I don't want to learn are Spanish and German. (Another side note: I want to teach little kids sign language...that's th' career I'm going for.)
4. For being one of th' creative artist types, I used to be quite th' athlete. Wasn't very good at my various sports, but I tried a lot of them, including: soccer, tennis, badminton (only in class, so it doesn't count, but I was awesome at it! Still thinking of taking it up.), gymnastics, ice skating, and cheerleading. Yes, cheerleading. Me. A cheerleader I was once. Scary thought, ne?
5. I like cheese. I mean, I reeeaaallly like cheese. I eat it plain, in both sliced form and grated. I like it on pretty much any food that comes my way. Another random thing, I hate peanut butter. The smell makes me sick. But...peanut butter cookies are my favorite kind, and I'd kill for Reese's.

That's a bit hard, though, because we're both blondes, probably unable/unwilling to change our hair colours for th' con. (Actually, she's recently become more of a strawberry-blonde...^^)
That wouldn't be a problem...except for the fact that I completely refuse to wear anything that resembles a dress. Which cuts out nearly every blonde character in ever show/book I can think of. ^^"
Another problem is our lack of materials...I think. That will become more apparent as we decide on who exactly we desire to dress as. *shrugs*
Personally, I have this awesome black coat (rather like Angel's, from Buffy, ya know?) that I wanna use...*shrugs*

Giving my damn part in th' play, the only part I like, to a guy. Because he's a guy. No other reason. They don't even know if he's better'n I am.

Oh...got progress reports. I got 4 B's and 2 A's. Um...A's in...History and...Chemistry, I believe. Then th' B's in Acting, English, Pysch. and Math.
(No, I'm not exactly slipping from my regular all A average. These are some nasty classes. Pysch (in my class I have th' highest grade, by the way... a 3.3), History and English are all AP. Chemistry and Math are both honors (I also got stuck switching math classes, and I think some of my assignments got lost in transition, 'cause I've gotten A's in math). Acting is a normal class, but we've only had 5 assignments.)

Erm...I'd sit n'list everything I'm working on, but I'm not sure what's gonna stay sketches, what isn't...how I draw is very confusing. *nods*
All I can guarantee right now is that I'm going to transfer my glomp picture to white paper.

I'll love you forever.), Julian McMahon (loved him as Cole, but we get to see more of him - literally - in Nip/Tuck. Started watching Nip/Tuck only for him, but now likes whole thing. ^^), David Boreanz, and James Marsters.
I thought there was one more, but if there is, I cannot remember him while I am in this state. *dies*

Nothing yet. Most likely we will use it more as a running commentary between th' two of us. I'll put a few of my pictures up there (definately th' character sketches. What else, m'not sure. If I draw any scenes from th' story, they'll go there too. Probably only things directly related t'it.) as well.
But yes, th' story in it's entirety will be found there. At least, the entirety of what I have typed up thus far. I will probably work on it this weekend, due to th' lessening of time due to school. Much less time, I'm taking 3 AP classes, 2 honors, and acting. Even my normal-type class is a time-consumer...^^
At least I will have all of lunch to work. I got stuck in second lunch (where I know noone) and I've figured hey, there's only an hour and a half 'til I'm home, what's point of lunch? Grab something from th' vending machines 'til then, ne? I qualify for reduced, so if I get really hungry, lunch costs less than th' machines would...^^"
Anyways. Relating directly to that would be the fact that I will not have so much time to draw, due to school. 'Tis the only thing I regret about school (I'm one of th' few people who actually enjoy going to school) is th' decrease in time for my drawings...especially my lack of time in the mornings as I have also have to go to a church school. I'm worried about that, 'cause we cut it really close to being late. Hrm.
Speaking of late, from my first period class I have to go all th' way across th' school. Literally. I'm in one corner going to th' other corner. >.<
Erm...as for drawings, I did some Olympic-inspired pics, and I'd put them on but 1) they suck, 2) they're on lined paper. Damn my tendency to do my first draft sketches on lined paper. *sjrugs* But I always seem to do better that way. Maybe I use th' lines as guidelines.
Also, Glaug if you happen to look at this, I have done a first draft sketch of y'picture, but I'm not particularly happy with it. 1) It's also on lined paper, 2) it also sucks, 3) I used th' picture you showed me as a reference pic, and it looks too much like it. I always feel so horrible when I use reference pictures, 'cause I feel like I'm cheating. *sighs*

As for the rest of my life...yes, I have AP classes. Sounds fun, ne? AP psych, American history and Language and Comp. Then honors Chemistry and analysis of functions. And of course Acting 2. ^^"

I'm currently making up a list of all the things I have done to Aaron. First I gotta finish th' actual story stuff (we've done a lot to him just in there...^^"), then I can get to the fun stuff I've done to him in drawings...and then th' stuff I've written out in my head but not yet on paper...^^"
Oi...it'll be...interesting.

I've also decided on several unimportant facts that are kinda nifty.
- Darin's a chef. A really good one, too.
- Aaron's not only a writer (which we knew already), but also an artist.
- Aaron has th' potential of being the scariest person of all th' characters. He tends to suppress his anger 'til it reaches a dangerous point. He can blow up things when it gets to a point. Like...doors.
- And (my favorite by far) Aaron can be the heaviest sleeper. If he's comfortable with the enviroment and there's nothing real dangerous...nothing can wake him up. Or...ALMOST nothing...*snickersnicker* Ari can...a big bucket o'cold water can...some other things might work...but...th' way that always works (which is why I've done this) is if someone kisses him. ^^" At least, it worked in th' story when Rama kissed him. Heh. (Long story. literally)

I promised quick character things, ne?
Well, first I'd best explain.

This story that I'm always writing about and drawing characters from is an ongoing roleplay/story that I'm doing with a friend (who goes by Mekare online...I'll put links and stuff towards th' end of this)...over 400 pages so far, 17 chapters, 17 characters...so far. There are also several side stories in progress (she has a couple, I have a couple...which will be confusing if I ever get them done 'cause there's conflicting info in 'em...^^ Alternate universe I guess...) and I've heard that someone is using a few of her characters in a sort of fanfiction...^^
(Personally, I want fanart...*hinthint* ^^")
Anyways. The story, found on fictionpress at th' moment (link later) is temporarily titled Crystallian (that is both the country and the continent whereon it is based...I think. Country at least). Personally, I have no clue what time frame it's in. But there is very little technology and lots of magic...(I'm not sure if we have a single character without magic...^^") there are actually three divisions of magic, but that's not important at this moment. Maybe later.
Now what is this story about? Well, I've tried explaining it to people before...briefly, sketching out the most basic of details. I had an hour, still wasn't done and th' person was confused. I figure I'll leave that to someone else. But to give you an idea, we've got vampires, demons, magic upon magic upon magic, idiots, wise people, half-breeds, dragons, cults, exiled heir-princes, oblivious heir-princes, and much much more.
Before I go too much farther, I suppose I should say that from an early start there is definate shounen-ai. Later I plan on shoujo-ai, and further in the future there *might* be a regular couple... ^^" What can I say. My friends on th' 'net have corrupted meh. ^^
So, if you are intolerant of that, don't read th' story and be very careful where you tread in my gallery. ^^
Anyways, there are numerous subdivisions to the plot, but they all tie into one thing. Save Dianna. Dianna is Darin's (pretty much the main character) sister, who has been (you find out) possessed by an ancient demon. This demon (Kurayami Shihaish, or Kura) needs to kill Darin and drain his powers in order to regain his true form. 'Till then, he's stuck in Dianna's body, along with her magic (which is mostly incompatible with what Kura's strengths are...^^" Guy just doesn't get a break). A slew of characters enter and it's all very confusing at times...also exceedingly funny. And the rare (because I do my best to avoid them) sappy, romantic-type scene...(*gags*) All in all, it's more humour than anything else.
Now that that's done, onto the characters.
There are (as I have said) 17 characters. 4 of them are hers...not exactly even, ne? But that makes it easier on me when I'm drawing them, I only have to force the details of four descriptions from her. It's like pulling teeth, trying to get a detailed description from her...(an' if you're reading, luvly one...)

Here I go.

Mine:
Darin Emrys Lanyal: (Darin's a character I've had forever...I think the only other one I've had longer is Arianna...I've had her since I started roleplaying...^^) Darin is...an idiot. Plain and simple. But he has the biggest heart one could imagine. There's a part in th' story where Aaron tells of a time when a dog attacked Darin. Hurt him rather badly. Later, Aaron found th' lad taking some food out to the very same dog. He didn't seem to care that it had hurt him...he only wanted to help. Darin is an exceedingly good infulence on those he meets...he's even getting Ari to open up to him...a little. He's one of the tallest people in th' story. And (although he does not know it, for all memories have been tampered with) he is the heir to the Crytallian throne. The Royal blood in him is the cause of th' gold in his eyes, as well as the odd language he tends to spek in when he gets overemotional. However, he has to be careful to not get TOO emotional, for at this point if the hidden power within him takes over, it would most likely kill him. it would definately shatter his mind...he'd go insane and destroy a good portion of the surrounding area.
