Back in december, someone had gotten hold of my credit card number, apparently through World of Warcraft. Their crappy security is what gives me disdain for the game (even if I love the company for their other, much less boring games). I had been charged approximately $200 to $300 in name-change, server hops and the like until Blizzard realized something was up and banned the account (so even if I did want to restart playing, I'm not gonna have my characters back. I doubt that'll be a problem).

Now, this morning, my paypal password was guessed somehow, and their crappy security allowed someone to paypal through my bank account (uncleared from 6-8 business days at least) for a whopping sum of $5,226.00 USD (or three quarter of the way to $6700 in canadian dollars) through some company called "HRC Worldwide Hotel & Travel Service Limited". So someone was trying to hitch a flight and hotel on my arm.

Mistake number 1 was not altering my account, particularly the primary email. This meant that I got the receipt and was warned about 40 minutes after I woke up that morning with a fresh fraudulent receipt in my inbox.
Mistake number 2 was to pass it through the bank account instead of credit card. This meant that 6-8 business days would have to go by before the funds pass. (mistake 2b would be to pass it through my credit card, which has a limit of $1000, but hey, his fault for not doing his research)

So, I changed my passwords (again), sent my transaction dispute to paypal to start the investigation, contacted my bank (again) about making sure the $6700 piece of crap payment doesn't go through if paypal take too long to investigate.

Isn't it a great way to start a day?

Seriously, people, mainly politicians. Times have changed.

Homosexuality is as accepted as different skin tones are.

Lots of people are still racist, lots of people are still homophobes... but do you really think that'll change if you keep banning gay marriage? Think about it.

Would Martin Luther King Jr.'s work be accepted if congress slapped it in the face and enacted laws that prevented a negro from, shall we say, use the same washroom as the white man? Those sorts of things would make the US' country leaders seem, shall we say, racist, now wouldn't they?

Well, banning gay marriage is the same thing, except with homophobia. It's just fine and dandy that you follow the bible's guidelines on being a good person. In fact, I encourage you to continue. But if you're going to say that the bible says gay marriage is bad, you know what I'm going to have you do? I'm going to have you donate that big ass mansion, your 2 cars, and whatever other income you're making and go on a pilgrimage, because Jesus had a lot of people do that so that they could become good christian.

Let's abolish capitalism, for the bible says it's bad. How's that sound? A bit too jarring and loosely linked, right? Then that proves the bible is a guideline for good conduct and not a set of rules.

How exactly will enabling gay marriage break the sanctity of marriage? If anything, it'll encourage christian gay couples to marry and strengthen the values of marriage because more people are doing it. Maybe they'll even make a better example than straight couples who divorce, which goes against the bible (but no laws banning divorce are in place, now are there?).

Just shelf the issue. Say 'yes' to gay marriage, and then move on to something more worthwhile of your collective mind. Like, let's say, the US' massive deficit and the iraqi war issue. I'm sure those major money crisis are a lot more deserving of attention.

Seems a bit strange to think that I could, on a whim, decide to scrap the style I've been drawing in for 8 years now and change gears completely. To send my style right back around (like a record baby, right round, right round). But strange enough, I'm considering it now, mainly because I'm liking how the western style is looking when I draw it.

Comparison -> [link]

It's a dramatic change. Facial expressions is something that's always been a bit of a problem for me, it always looks flat and neutral... but then blam, curiosity and "cute" mingled into one, something I couldn't really pin down and still can't pin down in my typical style.

Mind you, I'm not so blind to think that my style isn't shining in the western style as well. But it's a lot less flat and I like it.

Thoughts?

On other sites and on here, I get rather giddy when I see a work of mine was favorite'd, or that I was watched. Yet I see that some people have their work favorite'd 100, 200, 230-250, 300-350, and more and more as time goes on and deviantART's basis grows with artists.

Which made me curious. I get giddy if I see a single comment, or a single fav, or heck, a watch (which is especially rare, but it happens too). How do the "big" artists react?

I expect they see "X has put Y as a favorite" a good 10+ times a day, and "X is now watching you" 2 or so times a day, and I am sure they see "X has posted Z comment on K topic" 50+ times on their work and journals.

Does it lessen the impact of a single fav, to get so many? Or does it become for granted?
