I finished Coraline on tape and I'm going to see it again tomorrow, so I'm planning on some fan art for that, because I it. It's my new Nightmare Before Christmas.

On a more personal note, I'm back on the diet wagon. I went to the pool and swam for 45 minutes solid this morning and am going to go running tonight, and I've been doing better with eating. Hopefully I'll tone up a bit before I put my bikini back on. X3

Anyway. This week. Hasn't been much of anything really. Had some class, had some weekend. My dad is out of town, so my sister and I are trying to help out with the little kids some. Umm...I got demoted. They cut my job position within all the stores, so I'm going to be a cashier again next month, when the thing takes effect. This is also equals a pay drop, which sucks, but I'm grateful that they didn't fire me.

I finished season three of the l word, and need to purchase four and five before i can start watching the new season (which started this week). I love it. I cried when Dana died. She was oe of my favorites, and I just want to give Alice a hug.

I don't know. Not much really seems to be happening to me. I don't know whether to be depressed or happy about it. I'm living in this weird state of apathy...I don't really like it very much.

Anyway. I've been trying to do more drawing, and I've gotten two good things done, and I'm going to try and get into my groove soon. But the Hornbill and Lionfish are the kind of thing I'm going to be doing for awhile. Hopefully I'll be able to get some practice in with human figures and such like soon...

The weather is gorgeous, the beaches are beautiful, siiiigh. It's lovely. Anyway, we went to Sea World (yay SHAMU!), La Jolla, Ocean Beach, adn few other places. I loved it.

Also, I chopped off one of my trademarks. The long, long hair is gone. I have a layered cut now and it's super cute! (I think anyway).

School has started and I'm excited! I'm taking a design class that deals with color, art history, english, spanish, and psychology. I'm also saving to take an extra course in silk screening, sketchbook art, and anatomical drawing. It's going to be awesome.

Life is pretty good right now.

The library near my grandparent's house has CDs!! And not just a few, hundreds! I checked out almost forty CDs and am in the process of actually listening to them. It gives me a chance to listen to music that I've been wanting to sample, but don't want to actually have to buy, just in case I hate the stuff. It's been pretty good listening so far. I'll have a playlist for y'all later today or sometime tomorrow.

THE BASICS: write a Christmas/Holiday wish list. It can be any 10 wishes you'd like to have granted, no matter what they are. Possible or seemingly impossible. People look and grant the wishes if they can. It's not about "OMFG PRESENTS", it's about making someone else's holiday a little brighter by giving. Personally, I get more out of giving than receiving sometimes. It's just a good feeling to give.

STEP ONE

** Make a post in your journal. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

** If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

** Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your journal, so that others can join in and participate to spread the holiday joy!


STEP TWO

** Surf around your friend list to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

** If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

** You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

2. Sharpies. Tons and tons of colored sharpies. I love the things, but can never manage to carve enough money out of my paycheck to buy a pack.

3. Art money. Just to be spent on supplies or classes. I want to enroll in classes at the Art League in Alexandria, but I need funding! I also want to buy supplies to experiment with, like panels and gouche and other things.

4. Loving Annabelle on DVD. I love that movie.

5. To learn to play guitar.

6. Gift art. Is that something weird to ask for? Yeah, it probably is. Oh well. OK, let's alter that. How about requests? I would LOVE for someone to request something.

7. To go to a really awesome concert in D.C. Anyone know any good bands playing soon?

8. To have my zine be really awesome. Or have someone like it. Even just a little.

9. And finally, for my mom to be well. For her to be the way she used to be.

10. For my family to have a plan, so that I can know what my future will be like, and where I'm going to be in the next few months. So that at least if we end up moving to Colorado, I can plan for it.

I'm doing pretty good in school (for those of you who care) and actually have a solid 'A' in Spanish which, considering how much trouble I have with the crap, is pretty awesome. I also have an A in Speech and Communication, which I worked my ass off for and actually deserve! YES! *high five* I currently have non-grades for Psychology and PhysEd, but I'm pretty sure I'll be kicking some ass come grade time!

I'm thinking about getting a subscription, but I'm curious as to what you actually GET when you subscribe. Anyone want to clue me in?

SO! I have decided to revert back to my high school system. I took IB (college level) art for my junior and senior year, we had to make RWBs (Research Work Books). This was pretty much choosing a style, period, artist, etc, researching it, and then making a piece of art emulating some element of it.

I did a shitload of art work when I was doing this, like one or two (and they were big) every week or so.

SO!

I am going to start doing it again, because I really did enjoy making those damn books. I still have them under my desk, and not to boast, but they were the best looking books in class. Hells yeah!

My work is having a big sale-type thing for employees this week, so I'm going to stock up on shit. Yay for 40% off your entire purchase including sale items!!

*cough* Yeah. That's about it. Just felt like sharing.


OH! And. I watched Penelope again today. I freaking adore that movie. If you haven't seen it you need to.

Also, I'm sorry I haven't been very active on DA, posting and whatnot, but I've just entered my sophmore year of college and have spent the last two weeks either in school, doing homework, or at my job. The most art I've managed to do are the doodles that enclose my psych notes. Which, by the way, and actually kind of cool. X3 I have a few that I want to develop.

Art History (unfortunately) looks like it may be a bit dull, despite the subject matter. I remain (mostly) optimistic though.

Spanish should be awesome, because I have the same professor I did my first semester last fall, and she's great. So. Awesomsauce. I am excited.

Tomorrow I have Psychology and Speech. I'm excited about Psych, not so much about Speech, but we'll see!

All my textbooks this year are paperback, which means no lugging around a 50 pound bookbag. AND I get to drive to school now, instead of taking the bus, so yay!

I have to get ready for school (which starts Monday).

I have to change my availability at work because of school, but not just my school, all three of my sisters school too because I have to be the one to drive them around while my parents are at work, and PRAY that i still get 20 hours a week (which I barely get NOW).

I have to call my other employer and tell her that NO, I can't work those days, because I'm in school or on family vacation.

I have to get my parking permit for school.

I have to mail out my ex-girlfriend's package of crap (which in all honesty I've been meaning to do since late April).

I have to mail out 's button, which I wanted to do YESTERDAY but ended up getting too busy at home to do.

I have to squeeze in some time to finish some of the drawings I've started over the summer but never finished.

And tons of other small crap....

*groans, headdesk*

AND, no one apparently wants any drawings from me, because I was offering them up for free and the only one to take advantage was my girlfriend. Thanks a lot DA. You suck.

I loved it! They played tons of their older stuff, which I LOVE, and it was great! What was really funny is that you could tell just by looking out on the crowd, where the true Tilly-fans had congregated. They were mostly in the center,a few feet back from the stage, all jostling and jumping around. Unfortunately, (my sister) and I arrived to late to squeeze in there, but we had a pretty good view of the stage. However, it was right in front of the speaker, and my ears are still ringing eight hours later! *sighs* It was....amazing....


The two other bands that played first were pretty cool, but not quite my sound. Exit Clov and The Ruby Suns. Ruby Suns were a little too...'experimental' for me, and Exit Clov was just alright, but they're growing on me.

I'm watching The Last Unicorn with my baby sisters. This movie is rather....odd. I don't dislike it, but it's not my favorite. I do like this one line though

The singing is kinda....poor...I don't like it much. But there are moments when I love the art, and then other moments where I HATE it. *sigh*

Yeah, just had to get that out of my system. MOVING ON.

I am getting a commission from and I am super excited! Her shit is awesome! Check it out!

I went to Kings Dominion on Tuesday, and it was totally bitchin'. It was hot and the waterpark was great. I got a tiny bit of a sunburn on my chest, but all else was well. My parents are now also assured that I can handle long drives, although I'm sure they spent the hour long drive there biting their nails and waiting for me to call and assure them that no one had died.

Also, I am totally up for trades and requests and what not. I'd say commissions too, but I doubt anyone would actually want any, so for now I'll just try to build up my gallery.

EDIT: 1,111 kiriban! First one with a screen shot gets a prize! Since no one bothered trying to get 1,000 I'm going for 1,111! I'm working on 's prize for the 666 kiriban now, so it may by a little while, but you WILL get a prize drawn for you!

1) Everyone should go see Mamma Mia! It's amazing. I plan to go see it in theatres multiple times. That's a big deal. I wanted to get up and sing and dance in the aisles.
